I hate that I have to write this review because China One was my go-to Chinese takeout spot for years and years. Lately, though, they've been raising their prices while diminishing the quality of their food. Chinese takeout in Brooklyn/NYC is designed to be comfort food, a quick fix, an easy decision when you don't know what to eat and don't feel like walking to a diner. China One played the role well for any Brooklynite. The food was familiar, if not prepared in a way that didn't disappoint. However, these days there is something sorely lacking and I wonder if the pandemic has something to do with it. It seems that every month they are raising their prices another quarter while skimping on crucial ingredients for their dishes. Their wonton soup broth is thin and watery, while the wontons themselves contain about a thumbnail's worth of their sweet pork filling (what was once a shining highlight on the menu). You'd be lucky to get more than two pieces of broccoli in their veggie lo mein which is now composed mostly of noodles only. The moo shu dishes? Mostly just shredded cabbage in an unidentifiable sauce that can only be described as having too much black pepper added. Many other recent reviews call out their inattention to the chicken and beef dishes that are mainstays on any takeout menu.Truth be told, I'm only giving them that second star because I do feel bad for whatever setbacks they may have suffered from the pandemic, but when you sacrifice the quality AND continue to raise prices, that is too much for any diner to overlook. I wish China One well, but I'll be ordering elsewhere from here on out.

I hope most people know that Chinese food and Chinese takeout are two different things. The latter is catered to American tastes; to my knowledge, many of those running Chinese takeout spots don't even eat what's on their own menu. That being said, I do occasionally get a hankering for some Americanized Chinese food, and when that craving hits, nothing else will do. This place satisfies that need. I haven't tried everything, but I enjoy the Hunan beef and moo shu pork. The Singapore mei fun is also decent, especially if you ask for it extra spicy.Sure, the food can be oily and a bit too salty, but it's cheap and filling and they're just giving the people what they want.

I only ordered from here once so far. Delivery was pretty fast and my order was correct. The food was really just ok... Fried rice was not bad. Mixed veggies with spicy garlic sauce were pretty good - veggies weren't the greatest quality or variety (lots of onion) but the sauce was flavorful and spicy. The best were the cheese wontons which were light, crunchy, and perfect. Basically, this is a good spot for the terrible unhealthy American Chinese takeout you sometimes need.

Moved around here recently, and China One was the second Chinese food place we tried. There will not be a third. Spare ribs are crazy good, along with the Singapore Mei Fun. Delivery is free and fast. Best place in the 'hood for your Chinese food fix.

I am not sure why this place has such bad ratings. My roommates and I are locals in the area and we absolutely love this place. It's to the point, every time we call they know our address and everything. This is definitely my go to Chinese spot. They are very consistent and the best thing is that delivery is fast. I see some people saying that this restaurant reheats their food which I highly doubt they do. But if they did this is the best damn reheated Chinese food I've ever had. I never leave reviews but I felt there was too many people trashing this place. Keep it up China One!!

Discussing food once there was a stapler in my egg roll I almost chocked on it unbelievable. Once I saw them eat my order and then serving it too me that was one of the disgusting thing I've ever seen in my life time. Picked up food from the floor and serving it. I ordered soup and there was a fly swimming in it. The chicken was so soggy and watery and rotten. I would've gave them a 0 star but it wouldn't let me, so the one star that I gave then is nothing basically. Never coming back there to eat ever again.

This is an update review. Tonight I ordered some Shu mai and chicken gat yaw mein soup. Both were terrible. The shu mai was soggy and tasted more like fish balls. The soup was more like warm water with stir fried chicken, some vegetables and soggy noodles. The total with four of delivery fees and tip was $20. Definitely not worth it. Very disappointing.

Pretty gross. Sesame chicken that was 10% chicken, 90% burnt batter, and 100% tasted vaguely of fish. The fried rice was kind of edible, which was good since that's all I ate from the order. Delivery was quick, but I'm not surprised since the food seems to be reheated. Never going to order from this place again.
