We had a reservation at 7:15 which we were glad we made, was pretty busy! We order the cucumbers, the woodears, the truffle mushroom, mapo tofu, broccoli in garlic sauce. All were amazing- great flavor and vibe at the restaurant.

tldr; authentic Chinese flavors. bit on the pricier end but you're paying for ambiance as well. rare in NYC that you can get these flavors right while maintaining high bar for ambiance. Overall I recommend- They did tone down the spiciness level a bit without trading off to much of the authenticity. - Presentation and service was great. Staff came to change our plates regularly- Only area of improvement was the white rice texture and sogginess- Cocktails were creative, interesting, well made- Bit on the pricier end but the high bar of quality was met - recommend.

We came here for dinner while we were visiting New York. We made reservations for 630pm and were promptly seated. The seat had greasy areas on it. We ordered steamed shrimp dumplings, Peking duck, fried rice, crispy noodles, and steamed fish. They were all delicious ! We tried 2 desserts (rice cake and pistachio ice cream) and they were okay - nothing extraordinary. Our server was nice and friendly. No issue noted with service. Ambiance - modern, well-lit, and can be loud when packed. Better ambiance than most Chinese restaurants. Restrooms are located downstairs and were clean. They accept reservations which is always a plus, especially since this place gets crowded. I would give this place 4.5 stars, however, it is not possible so I am giving it 4 stars. I will return to this place the next time I am in New York.

Came here for two people during happy hour without reservation and there were plenty of seats. The happy hour menu had okay amount of selections, nothing to write home able. We ended up ordering the egg plant, scallion pack cake, sesame beef, and coconut chicken soup. They were all decent, not great but not bad. My favorite was probably the chicken soup. You have to order rice separately which is kinda annoying since rice is a staple with Chinese food. We didnt order any drinks but the Chinese-style alcohols looked pretty intriguing, would love to try next time. Overall, the food is okay, ambience is chic, and service is pretty attentive.

Stumble into a local restaurant that is busy while you're out on a walk as a tourist and you'll never be disappointed! Everything we had was amazing, and I was in love with these soup dumplings. It was busy and tight, and the atmosphere was a vibe. Would go back again!

Happened upon this place by chance after spending time in Hudson Yards. It definitely raises the bar on Chinese food. Really exceptional from the service to the ambiance. The service feels a bit robotic, with every person connected by ear piece and it feeling more going through the motions than personable service. Here's the thing: If you're going to go to Chi, the key is to focus on their Chi special dishes. The ones we had were beyond anything we could have imagined. The pork appetizer with cucumber was unbelievable. It's one of the best Chinese food spots we've been to in our 20 years together. That said, when you slink into the common chinese food dishes, like I did for my main, it's basically like everywhere else.My husband, when full on Chi, and everything he ordered was mouth watering good. We weren't crazy about the dessert and sent it back after one bite. Will definitely return.

Glad we made a stop for dinner at Chi!This is authentic Chinese food with absolute beautiful presentation in NYC! We ordered the truffle fried rice, dan dan noodles, wonton in chili oil, pan fried dumplings, crispy shrimp balls, and happy hour platter which came with spring rolls, edamame and rice cake with brown sugar. These were all tasty dishes, but my favourites were the truffle fried rice and crispy shrimp balls. So delicious! And the presentation of the crispy shrimp balls wowed us all.The service and ambiance was great here as well. Perfect for dinner with friends, family or a date.
