Loved this Thai spot which was easy to get to in Midtown East. It's a cute interior with a lot of decor and cute tableware, tho the tables are a bit small. The service was very helpful and shared their recommendations when we weren't sure what to order (everything looked too good!) also appreciated the menu had photos of dishes for reference. The cocktails were my favorite. The presentation is gorgeous and also taste delish! Prices are reasonable! The appetizers also impressed me. The summer rolls were small bite-sized version of a typical summer roll, and the crispy pork belly had such contrasting textures of very crispy skin and very soft meat which my friend and I loved. We also enjoyed the entrees, although I wish there was more flavor with the red snapper. It came with a mild-flavored honey dipping sauce but it wasn't quite enough. The duck was paired with a delish curry, and wish there was more of the curry too.I recommend getting the desserts because they're so cute and are generous portions. The new iced thai tea bingsu is really yum, and despite being full from dinner my friend and I finished it all! Cocktails* Sa Nhea Chan - 5/5* Rei Rai 4/5The Food: * Summer Rolls (Pork&Shrimp) - 4/5* Crispy Pork Belly - 5/5* Ghang Phed Duck - 4/5* Mango Red Snapper - 3/5 * iced Thai tea bingsu - 5/5

The place is really cute with two floors. The ambience is nice and I liked the house music they were playing. It was a bit loud so I had a hard time hearing my friend at times. Overall, very solid Thai food. It's on the pricier side but for a nice Thai place, the prices make sense. It was pretty good, but I've had better nice sit down Thai food. I got the crispy pork belly that everyone was raving about but it was okay... it definitely was sitting out a bit. The crispy part was crispy but the meat was dry... sauces were good but wouldn't get again because I was expecting it more fresh and warmer. The Ghang Phed Duck was good, crispy skin and meat was tender! The curry had a slight kick at the end but barely there since it was balanced with the sweetness from the pineapple and lychee. Pretty good 4/5The Thai tea was good, I liked that it wasn't too sweet and had a nice amount of herbal jelly! My friend got a cocktail and said it was good but a bit sweetThe Pad Se-Ew with pork was good! Really enjoyed the red sauce it came with the pork was well cooked and tender. 4/5Overall, solid Thai food but wouldn't come back because nothing really wowed me like other people's reviews noted, which I was expecting

Thai restaurants really knows how to put their dishes together and Charoen Krung Thai might have just won with their presentations! I mean..just look at everything! Don't get me wrong, it's tasted just as good but For drinks we got the yok manii $18 and chor muang $18. Yok manii was my favorite! Even though i knew, I was still surprised by the spicy kick but it a good way! Appetizers were summer rolls $13 and golden puff $10. Unfortunately I couldn't try the summer rolls because it had pork but my friend really liked it. I did however try the sauce that came with it and my god..i need a bucket of that to take home! seriously! As for the entree, there were soooo many options to choose from but we had to opt in for signature dishes. We had the pad-char red snapper $32 and the royal pad thai $26. Red snapper had a tiny kick which was cute but i loved it over more over the pad thai. Speaking of which i was surprised by the amount of shrimp it came with along with 3 jumbo shrimp, most places are very cheap with it!Finished the meal off with a dessert! I was looking forward to the shaved ice but unfortunately all sold out but that's okay because i had ice cream thai style $15. When corn came out the desserts, i didn't know what to expect but wow it paired well with the ice cream..how..idk but i liked it hehe!Nonetheless, i liked the vibe and decor inside! I was by the bartender and he was super nice and very attentive! I would go back to try other things!

Went here for a casual Friday date night and had a wonderful experience. The staff was very welcoming and service was very attentive. The restaurant is tight with small tables and interesting disco lights which didn't really fit the vibe of the restaurant. I would say the ambiance is the biggest thing with the restaurant that needs workWe started out with the special seafood noodle Tom yom soup. The broth was vibrant and not too spicy with scallops, shrimp and squid. The squid was a bit chewy for my liking, but the scallops and shrimp were cooked well. For mains we shared the red curry chicken and the Khao Kha Moo. Red curry was very flavorful and spicy, but not too too spicy. The Khao Kra Moo was tender and came with a sweet and spicy sauce that complimented the pork perfectly. Highly recommend you try this dish!Would certainly go back here, and wish they delivered to my apartment. This is a perfect Thai spot for takeout.

I was eager to try this Thai restaurant based on the glowing reviews, but unfortunately, it fell short of expectations. Here's a breakdown of our order: * Corn Fritters: A solid choice for an appetizer--crispy and satisfying. * Crispy Pork Belly: Outstanding! Perfect lean-to-fat ratio with a beautifully crispy skin. The chili garlic sauce on the side was a delightful complement. * Yen-Ta-Fo (Pink Soup): Disappointing. It leaned overly sweet with no spice, unlike the "Ocean Tom Yum" advertised on their website, which wasn't available. Despite the waitress's recommendation, this dish was a miss. * Crab Fried Rice: A dependable option--flavorful and enjoyable. * Drunken Noodles with Beef: Just okay. It lacked the expected spiciness and depth of flavor I've experienced elsewhere. * Green Curry with Chicken: Bland and lacked spice. Not worth ordering. * Red Snapper with Mango Salad: Underwhelming and under-seasoned--not what I had hoped for. * Ghang Phed Duck: The duck was dry, and the sauce, featuring longan, was overly sweet. Not a dish I'd recommend. While the cocktails were beautifully presented and enjoyable, the food was a letdown overall. It lacked the bold, spicy flavors one expects from Thai cuisine, and many dishes leaned far too sweet. Additionally, some menu items advertised online were unavailable in-store, which added to the disappointment.

Stopped by for a quick lunch on an unseasonably warm Saturday; my friend and I got there around 12:30 and it seemed pretty quiet at the time. We had one of the tables near the door/window, which was a little annoying from smelling some of the cigarette/other smoke wafting in from passers-by occasionally, but it was otherwise nice to look outside during the meal.We started with a crispy pork belly to share, which was a great choice. The crispy skin was delicious -- not too salty or hard while keeping a great crunch -- and contrasted really nicely with the rest of the juicy and tender pork (the ration of lean to fatty meat was great, not too savoury/oily).I ordered the bamii moo dang moo krob, which I really enjoyed. Yes, it was more pork after the appetiser lol, but still very yummy! The egg noodles were a little chewy (which I like), and the small amount of broth at the bottom was a good touch (kept the noodles from being too sticky and added some depth to the flavour). The pork (as with our started) was great -- the roasted pork was really flavourful with a hint of smokiness and complemented the crispy pork belly slices well.My friend had the bamii duck, which was basically the same thing but with crispy duck instead of pork. Also very delicious!Overall the portion sizes were great - we left quite satisfied but without feeling overly stuffed. Price point was really solid, and they did have some discount for leaving a review (I think 5%? don't remember exactly). I'd love to come back, their menu seems to have loads of delicious options that I want to try next time! (Esp their lunch specials, although sadly I seem to be rarely free for weekday lunches).

Very solid Thai restaurant with good interior. The waiters are very attentive and give very direct recommendations on the food.We shared the pad Thai and charoen curry which were both excellent. Would skip the Tom yum seafood as it wasn't really Tom yum flavored. Would def go back to try the portion belly and duck dishes!

Charoen Krung Thai offers a delightful escape to the vibrant food scene of Bangkok, right here in New York City, with its colorful decor and lively atmosphere. We started our meal with refreshing drinks: a sweet and fragrant Lychee Thai Iced Tea and a mysterious purple mocktail which I cannot remember the name for. We indulged in the Thai Dumplings and Moo Ping Rolls, both of which were flavorful and delicious. For the main course, we opted for the classic Pad Thai and the stir-fried Pad See Ew. Both dishes were bursting with authentic flavors, with perfectly cooked noodles and generous portions. To complete our meal, we savored the Coconut Ice Cream, a unique dessert that was surprisingly refreshing and satisfying. The restaurant was surprisingly busy on a Monday afternoon, a testament to its popularity. I'd highly recommend making reservations, especially on weekends, to avoid disappointment.Overall, Charoen Krung Thai is a must-visit for anyone craving authentic Thai cuisine. The food is delicious, the atmosphere is vibrant, and the service is friendly.
