If you like the modern incarnation of boom-bap hip hop, this is the probably the best restaurant in NYC to listen to it.As far as food goes, the small menu at Charlie Bird features a few authentic and delicious pasta dishes. The razor clam appetizer, which photographs well, needs improvement. Rather than making my family fork the little chunks off the half shell with the hope that they used the tangy garnish, I'd employ a binding agent and blend things better. It's awkward to eat and the clam doesn't have enough flavor to stand on its own.The fried chicken app is good. Another reviewer called it "frozen chicken nuggets" which, I assure you, it's not. For $24, it's a substantial amount of chicken. What ruined the vibe for me here is that the restaurant allowed a dog inside. The dog urinated on the floor while the couple that brought it was humble-bragging to their friends that they pay $8k per month in rent.A staff member had to kneel on the floor and wipe up the urine while someone in the party said "oh, I'm sorry." Then, staff had to engage in mandatory dog talk where they let the couple know that they loved dogs. The couple made no attempt to help, not even the token effort to take the animal outside. Repulsive behavior showcasing how out-of-control dog culture has become.

A friend and I made 8pm reservations for dinner at Charlie Bird this past Sunday evening. It's a cozy, semi-romantic, chic spot with great energy and a delicious small menu. We tried the raw oysters (super fresh), the Saffron Cavatelli (just the right amount of heat and a layered, complex flavor), the Gnocchi Rosa, and the Chocolate Budino for dessert (which was yummy enough that we ordered a second helping). I enjoyed a Soho Rickey off of their cocktail menu, as well. The servers were so sweet and welcoming. The music wasn't too loud, and we had an overall positive experience. I have already referred Charlie Bird to a few friends.

Enjoyed a dish from each section of the menu and was pleased until the mains! My friend knew the chef personally and was gifted the new pasta dish and the amazing arancini! Aside from the mains being unpleasantly small everything tastes amazing! Love how the chef has created a menu thats very cohesive! The lovely server was kind, attentive and very friendly! The cocktails I personally wouldn't get again but were very refreshing. Dessert was delicious!

Charlie Bird has a great summer terrace to sit and relax. The world goes by when you sit and listen to hip hop. The menu is unique and leans towards Italian flavors. Although they had fried chicken on the small plates. There was a fusion happening for sure.We ordered a burratta with peaches as our starter. It was delicious! My favorite part of the meal! The service was quick and not rushed. The seating outside is by far the best option.

For the price point, the food wasn't worth it. It came cold too! The service was great & the place a a nice cool vibe but really not worth $400 meal! I ordered the $17 bubbles & later my girlfriend asked for a taster of a different kind. The server was nice enough to give me a taste too & then decided to switch it without letting me know! This new bubbles was $28 a glass! Yikes! I wasn't very pleased at the end of the night when I found out he had switched without letting me know!

I've wanted to come here for a long time, because the ambiance and menu looked like exactly what I'd envision to be what NYC is all about :) It's definitely an excellent place to have a date or bring your parents, as the environment and service is super friendly and chic. The food is very strong too but I'd say not super inventive. The drink menu is very standard, so nothing really excited us to order. The agnolotti with the english pea cream is pretty strong, and I found the pomodoro gnocchi to be a bit simplistic. Solid choice overall but a bit on the pricier side given it's nothing super notable.

Such a good meal I'm stuffed! We ordered so much food and I couldnt be happier because everything was amazing. We got the heirloom crustinis, tuscan fried chicken, gnocchi, tagliatelle, and eggplant. Everything was delicate, fresh, and PACKED with flavor. The chicken was juicy, the crustini was warm, the pastas were perfectly portioned. This meal was truly an A+!!! As for the vibes- it was cozy and dimly light so would make for a good date night but there were a fair amount of larger groups that made the place feel lively. Will be back!

They say that their plates are designed to share, but honestly the portions are small, and you would need 3 pastas and some small plates or a large plate to fill up 3 people. The menu is very small, and changes from time to timeEach of the pastas will come with some chili oil and it is such a good combination, but I didn't feel that the pasta itself was anything special. I would come back only for the chili oil combo with the pastaThe Foccocia bread is great, and good to snack on while you wait since it takes a bit of time for the pasta/mains to come out

The service was good the food was good and the music was good. I'd recommend if in the area! The chicken bites and the carrots were delicious! The pasta, cacio e pepe, was a bit too al dente for our liking. The drinks and wine were quite yummy! They have indoor and outdoor seating, with the outdoor making up the bulk of their tables I'd say. I'll be back!

Had a truly wonderful experience here all around. We had an earlier dinner here over Memorial Day weekend so it wasn't too crowded which was really nice, and had the back corner table to ourselves. We ordered the fried chicken and fries to share, two cacio e pepes, one gnocchi, and one tagliatelle - everything was incredible. One star of the show was the free focaccia they brought out, it already had a drizzle of olive oil and some rosemary and flaky salt on it. Truly, I think it's the best free bread I've ever gotten at a restaurant and I would go back again just for that. The fried chicken and fries were also really good and perfect for us to share before our pastas came out.The thing that really struck me about my experience here was the service. Our waiter asked if we had any allergies, and I mentioned my peanut allergy (because I could see this being the kind of place to use peanut oil for their fried foods). He asked if I'm also allergic to tree nuts, and I explained that I am allergic to some but typically avoid all due to cross contamination. He then asked if pink peppercorn was okay, because that comes on the cacio e pepe and is actually part of the tree nut family. I had no idea, and they left it off to be safe which I greatly appreciated. It was a small interaction, but that level of attention and casual precaution is something I've rarely experienced and won't soon forget. After that, it was truly just the cherry on top that the food was amazing.I would come back here in a heartbeat, and will certainly be recommending it to friends and family.
