We went to Celestine on Valentine's Day! It was $130 per person. It included a salad, entree, and dessert. The only choice was the entree and it was between halibut and waygu steak. My husband and I both got the waygu. It was yum! The salad wasn't my favorite but I think they picked it cause it was pink for Valentine's Day.Celestine has a special place in our hearts because three years ago we ate at Celestine after we got engaged. The ambiance is always nice!

I've been to Celestine twice now, one of them being last night, and don't know if something changed, but definitely thought the food was better the first time around. Our rez was at 630pm on Friday evening and I was pretty surprised how empty it was -- I remember a time when it used to be hard to get a rez here!First let's talk location. The location is absolutely stunning! I know many acquaintances who've hosted special events in their outdoor area which over sees the manhattan and brooklyn bridge -- it can't be beat! The interior is also bright, open, and well decorated, and at night, it's beautifully romantic. Now for the food, keep in mind that when we went last night, we had asked to keep the salt to a minimum level if possible due to a dietary restriction for one of us, and that definitely can influence the taste. However, I did ask for salt on the side and didn't think adding it made much of a difference (I know cooking it and sprinkling it on top isn't the same). Anywho, we started with the mezze, crudite, caeser and octopus, then the steak, chicken, squash and pesto pasta, with carrots and fries on the side. The squash was the main standout and unfortunately the rest was just FINE - neither here nor there. Mezze was bland, octopus was ok, the steak fell flat, and the carrots were a miss. They use a lot of mint and tahini in their dishes which I love! but some people don't, so keep that in mind. Lastly, I would 100% skip the dessert - words I never thought I'd say.Despite it not being busy, the service wasn't great. Not bad by any means but our server kept apologizing saying things will come right out. For example, the crudite arrived after we had finished all the other apps!Given all of the above, I think the best target patron would be those going on date #2 - 5 bc they are probably looking for a romantic ambiance, not really concerned about the food taking away or adding too much to the overall experience, and you're really just there to enjoy the view and each other's presence. Won't be back unfortch!

My son planned a special dinner for the last night of my visit in Brooklyn. He knew how I loved the view of the Brooklyn & Manhattan Bridges in Dumbo. The site also holds historical significance as it's the location where George Washington crossed into Manhattan after the Battle of Brooklyn during the Revolutionary War. The escape with his troops under the cover of night was an awesome feat.Celestine is a special location with two glass walls providing a fantastic view of both the Brooklyn & Manhattan Bridges. The elegant restaurant offers a menu featuring Mediterranean cuisine. My son chose our shared appetizer, the Mezzi Platter, which was amazing. The Greek Flatbread was hot, soft & made enormously tasty with seasoning & olive oil. The dippings were Baba Ganoush, Hummus & Muhammara. After trying each I became a huge fan of the Baba Ganoush. A second serving of the Flatbread certainly blew my diet, but was completely irresistible. My son & I both chose the Steelhead Trout with Romano Beans, Confit Tomatoes & Raita. Our entree was 5 Stars. I had been tempted to order a number of appetizers instead of an entree because the Golden Beets with Caraflex Cabbage, Winter Radish, Sesame Seeds topped with Tumeric Vinaigrette sounded wonderful. The Spanish Octopus with Charred Eggplant & Spiced Chickpeas would have been my second appetizer. My Grandson's choices were the Little Gem Caesar Salad, which definitely wasn't little. As a side he chose French Fries with Harissa Aioli. How could I forget the drinks? I chose the Mediterranean Martini, the mixture being Vodka, Mediterranean Gin, Lillet Blanc, Rosemary & Caper Berry. This was the best Martini I've ever tasted. My son chose the Phoney Negroni Mocktail & Iced Tea.Never do I order dessert! But my son wanted to see the dessert menu. I shouldn't have even looked. But I did. And wonder of wonders I saw Pistachio Ice Cream, my favorite. I absolutely had to have it! Sigh..... Diet really blown now.Service was exceptional. All our requests & needs were promptly met.The restaurant has a wraparound deck where one can survey the exceptional view from the exterior of the restaurant. We decided to descend to street level & walk to the lookout area of Brooklyn Bridge Park.Celestine checks all the boxes. Location, menu, service & view make this a 5 Star review.

This restaurant is on one of those 'best places to eat in New York with a view' lists. The view looks out onto the Manhattan Bridge; it's quite loud outside but inside the restaurant doesn't get any of the noise pollution. There is a little park in back of the restaurant next to the water that you can explore before/after your meal. On the weekends they have a brunch menu - the omelette has chorizo, peppers, onions and has an aioli on top. The omelette is very, very thick and seems more like a quiche honestly. A third of the plate is taken up by an arugula salad which is pretty bare bones and unfortunately includes arugula (so bitter). The aioli makes the omelette (which is already very heavy) even heavier. Buttermilk pancakes - pretty standard pancakes with plenty of syrup on the side, and a beautiful red berry butter. This is again pretty simple, though. I think if you want the view you can just hang out at the park and don't need to eat here. The view itself from within the restaurant is only really amazing from one or 2 tables right at the corner. Otherwise there's a pole and some greenery that obscure the view a bit.

Cute restaurant near dumbo with fantastic views of the Brooklyn bridge. Service was fast and good. As for the food and drinks-- they were ok.- Mezze platter: 10/10 (liked the dips and the pita was ok)- Shashuka: 7/10 (ok Shashuka but wasn't too sure why they only have one bread for this dish?)- Salad: 7/10 (ok salad)- Iced americano: 3/10 (way too watery)

We went to Celestine to celebrate New Year's Eve! The restaurant is small and cozy with views of the Manhattan Bridge and the East River. Not every table has a great view so roll the dice and hope you get lucky. Now for the food, since it was NYE, it was a pre fixe menu. 3 appetizers, 1 main (there were two options) and 1 dessert. We ordered two drinks, Passionfruit Cooler and an Old Fashioned. The cooler tasted like cheap juice. The old fashioned was super sweet. I thought I was drinking Coke. For the first app, we had the Blue Point Oyster. The oyster was fresh, succulent and mignonette sauce was well made. The course was small but delicious. The second app, Hamachi Crudo. My personal favorite dish of the entire night. The plating was beautiful. The fish was covered in an amazing citrus flavored sauce (Sicilian red orange vinaigrette). The third app, Honeynut Squash Risotto. Made well with white truffle, flavors were hitting. Since there were two of us, we got the Poached Lobster and Wagyu Striploin. The Poached Lobster course was generously portioned. The scallops were buttery and cooked extremely well. The sauce was a tad salty. The wagyu striploin course was also generously portioned. It was perfectly cooked to medium rare. The mushrooms and carrots on the side were delicious. The dessert was bad. The Tuxedo Cake was a beautifully wrapped present but when you opened it all you found was coal. It was dry and had an odd taste. It was stiff and seemed to have been taken out of the freezer earlier during the service. The service was alright. When we sat down, the table next to us was two courses ahead of us, but at the end of the meal we were having dessert when they just received their mains. They seem quite unhappy during the wait. They sat there for a while without any food, looking confused as to why the people around them were being served their main courses before they were. The staff did not offer any explanations or apologies.Overall, the food was good. Some courses were small and dessert was just bad. Drinks were a miss for us. Service is a hit or a miss, depending on who you get. Views is luck of the draw. Price point is not good. $190 per person before tip and tax. The NYE dinner menu came with complimentary champagne that was mid.

This was a lovely spot for brunch and the views of the Manhattan bridge are gorgeous. The burger was juicy and flavorful. The fries were okay but very hot and fresh. The buttermilk pancakes were average but the berry butter was quite nice. The Raspberry Rickey is refreshing and delicious, highly recommend! It took a while for someone to come by and take our order but that was fine since it was just only one person taking orders and checking up on all of the tables.

This restaurant is right next to the Brooklyn bridge. It's aesthetically pleasing and super beautiful on the inside. The service is very quick and on top of it. However, the food is simply okay. It's good but nothing special for what the price of the food is. Essentially you're paying for good food but moreso for the vibes and aesthetic.

Stopped by Celestine since I'd heard about it recently and it was such a lovely restaurant. Loved the vibe of this place with the friendly service staff, incredible dumbo views, and delicious food. This might be my new favorite restaurant in new york. I got the burger and it was solid. Probably not the best thing on the menu but I'll be back to get everything else. Can't wait to come back and try the dinner menu sometime very soon!
