We walked into Casa Ora, and wow, it was amazing. I honestly had no idea what to expect, but I'm pretty sure I've found a new favorite. (Just a heads-up: this place has a modern twist on the food, so it might not be the most authentic, but it's still delicious, nonetheless).First of all, the ambiance--SO cute. Such trendy furniture and the walls are covered with cultural art. Now onto the food: wow. I can't remember the exact name of the dish we ordered (it's in the photo), but it was a skillet of black beans, eggs, and plantains. Phenomenal. The plantains were perfectly sweet, the beans were rich and comforting, and the eggs just tied it all together. And that green sauce? I could drink it.We also tried the beet salad, which was definitely unique--glad I gave it a shot, but I think I'd skip it next time. The tahini was a bit too strong for my taste, but it was still interesting and different.Overall, I had a fantastic experience here. The service was on point, super friendly, and everything was absolutely divine. Definitely coming back to try more of the menu!

I'd like to preface this with appetizers and starters here were phenomenal. We did the pre fixe and collectively got: guacamole, empanadas, ceviche, camarones, asado negro, and monkfish.Guacamole was super fresh and plantains were perfectly fried. Empanadas were surprising filling! I didn't expect to get all four (ended up taking some home). Ceviche was delicious, and the fish texture was immaculate. Camarones were tender but definitely on the salty side. The reason why I'm rating this place a three. First off, they sat us down initially in the middle of the walkway directly against their Christmas tree (despite the restaurant being mostly empty). People were brushing against us whenever they walked. We asked to swap, and thankfully, they were nice about it and brought us to the front. Now, the service afterwards was questionable. We waited over 30 minutes for our entrees and had to ask the waiter for where it was. Another waiter came by assumed that we were done eating already. We would not recommend the monkfish or the asado negro. The monkfish texture was almost disintegrated in the roll, and it was just a confusing, mushy dish that didn't taste like anything. The asado negro was incredibly sweet and headache inducing. We ended up taking these home and shared them with our friends. The sentiment was the same. Overall, the appetizers were amazing, but the entrees and service were subpar. I guess I might come again in the future and hopefully have a better experience.

We both enjoyed our cocktails, shared appetizer and entrees. We were so full after our meal! It was beautiful inside. We sat all the way in the back, which was plush and cozy. I do however feel like if we were sat anywhere else, we would have been very cramped. Walking past the tables, it looked like you'd barely be able to squeeze in to sit without your bag and butt bumping the neighboring table. Service was a little slow, so take that into account when coming here!

This spot has been on my radar for a while now and today and today my husband surprised me with a brunch reservation today and it definitely lived up to the hype. First things first - the decor and ambience are 10 out of 10 gorgeous. The restaurant has a back room with a sky light in the center that just brightens up the whole space, it's pretty picturesque. We started with drinks:~ Lime in the coconut - 7.5/10 (Tasted like an acidic pina colada)~ Brooklyn No More - 8.5/10 (The grapefruit and gin worked SO well)Then we had an order of the empanadas for a starter and for our mains an order of the cachapas and the arepa andina. We LOVED the empanadas. They were perfectly crispy and came stuffed with 4 different fillings. The beef and the cheese were our faves. The mains were super flavorful but I must say the arepa was more of a sweet biscuit texture. If I were to come back I'd try another item. All in all, I can't wait to return and try more drinks and appetizers on the menu.

I love this restaurant! The dishes had a classic Venezuelan touch but with a fun twist. While it's super traditional, everything was still delicious. We went for brunch and started with the arepitas (shredded beef was my fav!) and the mandocas - both were great but the sauces really stole the show. I wasn't starving so opted for the Guac Toast with a side of sunny side eggs. It was good but didn't really blow me away like the apps, and I found it to be overpriced. Overall, pretty good service was good and such a cute ambiance - perfect for a girls brunch!

Beautiful Venezuelan restaurant situated in east Williamsburg, I came with a few friends during their weekend brunch time. We ordered the home breakfast, cachapas, patacon and I got myself a dirty chicha. Everything was *chefs kiss* delicious. The portions are on the larger side, although I don't know if 15 for one cachapa and no sides is justified. Maybe it was the timing, but the service was ridiculously slow. From the point of sitting down to receiving our food, at least an hour passed and the food was colder. My cachapa's cheese didn't pull as it had cooled down too much. The servers were friendly and the food was good, albeit pricey, but maybe just avoid the weekend brunch rush. The dirty chicha (a shot of espresso with chicha, a rice drink) was creamy and flavorful although a little sweet, I'd order it again. Worth a shot, but be prepared to wait.

During my last trip to NYC, I caught up with some friends at Casa Ora in Brooklyn. The space was candle-lit and it happened to be a rainy night which create a very cozy and intimate space for our meal. What we got:- Tequenos with guasacaca and tar tar sauce- Arepitas (Chicken, shredded beef, shredded pork, and black bean)- Bollitos Pelones (Corn Dumplings with impossible meat and spicy tomato sauce)- Cachapitas (Corn pancake, queso blanco and nata)- Pabellon a Caballo (Shredded beef, rice, black beans, fried plantains, and sunny side eggs)Final Thoughts:I love cheese and the tequenos were a favourite dish of mine this meal! There were also many different sauces provided to switch up the flavours. The plantain that came with the Pabello a Caballo was really delicious but everything else was just alright.I personally found the corn pancakes a bit too sweet and the arepitas gave you variety but were also very messy and difficult to share.A cute vibe for dinner overall!

Came on a Thursday night at 9pm and was seated immediately by the window. Such a cute interior, definitely perfect for a date night. I think this place exudes more bar restaurant vibe as in the drinks are on pointtt with smaller bites if youre enjoying your date. The empanadas were delicious! The outside casing was perfectly cooked, crunchy, no oily flavor and the filling was perfect. We could have skipped the rest, that's how filling the empanadas were (1 chicken, 1 pulled pork, 1 monkfish, 1 cheese). So good. Def check it out! Ample street parking too which we love.

Ambience. It feels like you're eating in an upscale living room. Plenty of indoor and outdoor seating with a medium size bar so good if you want to grab a quick bite or eating alone. Service: excellent This might be controversial, but their drink menu looks better than their food menu. The drinks were outstanding and well priced for the quality. Our favorite was Brooklyn or nowhere, starting lineup, Caribbean Queen (crowd favorite). They also do towers that serves 10-12 people but in reality it's a lot more.Food: arepitas, empanadas, hallaca are must orders for street food/appetizers. The other street food options were good but average. We love the salmon, pabellon and steak. But I would definitely go back for drinks and street food.Great for dates, girls night out, large parties. Would definitely go back.

I've been here a few times now and I can say I'm a true fan of their brunch menu. Mainly b/c I've been able to get a last min reserv and I remember that great cocktail I've had and want it again, lol. My last time here was the last Saturday in August. I had a friend visiting from out of town and I knew she would love this place...and she did!For drinks she and my other friend had bellinis and I had the Ora ramble. I'm not sure how many were had...but many, LOL!For food my friend and I shared the Pabellón a Caballo, my other friend got the home breakfast, and for the table "Tacon" French Toast. Ummm, the plates were left empty...lol lol. I'm determined to make it for dinner the next time. Maybe you'll see me!
