my absolute favourite restaurant. i know the hype around carbone, but their food and service are genuinely spectacular. i've been to this original location and the hong kong one as well. the bread they served us was warm and soft. our apps we got calamari and carpaccio - i've had these items at other italian restaurants, but carbone takes the cake. calamari was crunchy and not too bready, while the carpaccio was fresh and melts in your mouth. for our mains, we got their famous rigatoni vodka and lobster ravioli. i understand why everyone loves the rigatoni vodka - so simple yet iconic. for the lobster ravioli, it was so flavourful and rich - i might like this more than the former, because of the lobster meat! for dessert, we got the cheesecake. nothing too to special but still yummy. service was amazing and personal. the note they write on our cake was so cute. our sommelier was attentive and patient. our server was proactive with dishes and kindly swept our crumbs. ambiance was gorgeous and elegant, yet very homey. the lighting was dim and i felt warm. amazing. ps i was focused on my boyfriend and the experience, so i didn't take close up pics of the food - so enjoy my food and bf.

We came to carbone for our anniversary meal. We started off with the baked clams, it came in 3 different styles. Our favorite was the one topped with uni. For entrees we got the veal parmigiana, Meat balls, and spicy rigatoni. My favorite was the meatballs, great texture and well made. The veal parmigiana was good, but a little pricey for what it is.For dessert, we had the tiramisu. It was nice and creamy. Cocktails were also nicely done. Service was excellent. We were sitting in the outside heated section, so a little bit of the ambiance was lost.

Ah the infamous Carbone.Though people love to hate on it for the prices (they're high) and how hard it is to get a res (it is), I had a really great experience here. When we walked in for a 11:30 AM Saturday lunch res (thank you Resy notify), we were greeted warmly. One of the staff joked that our res was canceled with a grin on his face, which was pretty funny, if not mildly panic-inducing :)The ambiance of the restaurant is fantastic. They seem to have captured a bygone era, with charming touches like an oversized menu and Sinatra playing in the background. As for the food:Oysters- fresh. No complaints.Baked clams- very tasty, with 3 different flavors. We liked the one topped with uni the best.Spicy Rigatoni- I was most excited for this dish, but it turned out to be good not great. They use Calabrian chiles, which makes for more tang than spice, but the pasta was cooked perfectly and the sauce was decent. Just not life-changing as some may have you believe.Lobster Ravioli- my favorite dish of the meal. Ravioli tasted almost like Chinese seafood dumplings (in the best sense) with plenty of umami. I loved the rich cream sauce on this.Ribeye Diana- excellent. Steak was perfectly cooked with a wonderful sauce.Carrot cake- marvelous presentation. This is probably the least sweet carrot cake I've ever had, which is a good thing. Flavors well-balanced, loved the ginger ice cream, only detraction was it was slightly dry.My main gripe is as most have pointed out, it is a bit overpriced. I think this place would be a definite 5 star if everything was 30% cheaper basically. I will say though, if you factor in the complementary antipasti (garlic bread, warm mozzarella, and salami when we went) and order strategically, it's not too bad, at least by NYC standards. Going to Carbone is like going to Disneyland. As long as you set the right expectations, you'll have a good time!

I've been here a couple of times now and what did Drake say?? "YOU KNOW HOW IT GOES WHEN THEY CAN'T GET A RESERVATION UP IN CARBONE!" Getting a Resy here is definitely an extreme sport but if you do get one, boy are you in for a treat! Inside is very intimate and beautifully constructed, and the food is an experience. Let's get into it! Lobster ravioli 9/10. Don't come here and not get it.Spicy rigatoni vodka 10/10. Simple, but elegant. Another MUST have. Their best dish on the menu imo.Meatball 8.4/10. A nice accompaniment to the rigatoni. Octopus pizzaiolo 6/10. The flavors are there but during my latest visit, it was overcooked and not worth the price. The vibes alone are immaculate and the service is wonderful and intentional! It's a must try on any night if you're lucky to dine here.

I FINALLY was able to snatch a lunch reservation at Carbone! After visiting its sister restaurant, Torrisi, I was super curious to see how Carbone would stack up.First off, AMAZING service-- some of the best service I've had in a while in NY. Honestly the service at Torrisi wasn't the best so I wasn't expecting much, but I was pleasantly surprised. Second, the vibes were immaculate! You're literally transported to old NY. Everything is super classic and classy... loved it.Third, the food was great! We ordered the oh-so-famous Spicy Vodka Rigatoni and Veal Parmesan to share between the 2 of us.- Spicy Vodka Rigatoni: 10/10 (perfectly spicy and creamy vodka sauce! It was really well balanced. The pasta had the perfect bouncy texture too. Honestly I wasn't like blown away, but again this is probably one of the best rendition of this pasta I've ever had.)- Veal Parmesan: 8/10 (hugeee portion size but again it's like $90. It was good, but not super memorable. Next time, I'd rather order 2 pastas!)

I want to start by saying that while the food here was good, I was disappointed in the service. Especially for a place that you have to book a month out and put down a $50 deposit per person for. My enjoyment of the food did not outweigh the disappointing service and hassle it took to secure a reservation. We had an 11:45 reservation. I would like to note that Carbone is near two extremely popular bagel shops (Leon's and Popup) so the sidewalk was absolutely packed, and we had to discern that the huge lines in front of us were for the bagel stores and weave past them. The interior is small but nice and classy. It took over an hour for our entrees to arrive. We overheard a waiter talking to someone else that they had accidentally given our food to the wrong table. However, they made no move to apologize for this error or inform us why our food was taking so long to arrive. I would have respected some honesty as to why our food took so long to arrive. I did really appreciate the fact that they give every table complimentary bread, cured meat, mozzarella, and almond cookies. We ordered the Carpaccio, Tortellini, Rigatoni, Meatball, and the Potatoes Louie.I really loved the truffle emulsion on the carpaccio. The carpaccio was probably one of my favorite bites alongside the tortellini. The vodka pasta here was good but pretty standard to what I've had before. Meatballs were good and is the perfect serving for 3 people since it comes with 3 meatballs.

My friends and I somehow were able to get a reservation here and we were ecstatic! None of us had been to Carbone before. The table wasn't ready when we arrived so we had a drink at the bar while we waited. The staff have incredible personalities. They kind of give off a Disney World vibe - super happy, upbeat, and funny. They were great! We aren't the type of group who go to fancy or expensive restaurants often. But we knew going into this that it was going to be pricey. We each had three cocktails, appetizers, a few pasta dishes, dessert and cappuccinos. It was about $185/person with tip - worth it! Our favorites were the spicy rigatoni, veal parmesan and the chocolate hazelnut cake.

Food: 5/5 | Service: 5/5 | Experience: 4/5It is quite difficult to get a seat here at Carbone, but I was able to make a reservation for 2 during a weekday lunch. While reserving your spot, you pay $50/person that will go towards your final bill. This quite small restaurant is very cozy and intimate. Staff are all very professional, and it was a great experience - perfect for a date night. We ordered the spicy rigatoni vodka (split among 2), 3 Mario's meatballs, and the funghi trifolati, and the lemon cheesecake. The pasta was cooked al dente, and the sauce clung well to the rigatoni. The meatballs were very tasty, and a perfect addition to the meal. The mushroom dish was my favorite as the fungi are very tender and simply dressed, making for a dish where the mushrooms' umami taste was enjoyed. The lemon cheesecake was decadent and rich. The food here was great, but tables were a bit closer together than I expected, and I sat right next to the bar cart, so I did not have the most space to move about comfortably.

There are too many new openings in the city that you often forget about classic ones. BUT never Carbone. Still one of the hardest tables to book and for good reason. My fav part is the complimentary garlic bread with salami and mozerella. Hits every time. Esp that cheese Start with the carpaccio or the salad, both pretty salty so def better with a drink. I rly like the carpaccio, it's super thin, like spoon-scrapping, so it teases your appetite without filling it. For pasta, no words needed for the spicy vodka rigatoni This dish is what American Italian is built on. Tortellini is solid. Get it if that's your thing. I think the meatballs are another must and I don't even like minced meat. They're good and make the rigatoni taste even better? If you're strong enough for desserts, get the hazelnut cake but you didn't do it right if you still have space for that. carpaccio piemontese $34* yellowtail crudo MP spicy vodka rigatoni $34* tortellini al ragu $35 mario's meatballs $27*영원한 클래식.

Let's be honest - you always hear people talking about Carbone in NYC. Is it worth the hype? 100000%, in my opinion! They take reservations up to 30 days in advance, and you have to book online. As they fill up extremely quick and hard to come by, make sure you plan ahead if you want to dine here! Came here for lunch around noon [as we had a reservation] and the place was absolutely packed. The atmosphere is extremely inviting and comfortable. It's loud so you don't feel bad having a conversation or talking loud, which is a huge win for me! The customer service is impeccable. I don't think I have ever dined at a restaurant with better service, attentiveness and overall hospitality. We truly were shocked at how friendly and helpful every single person we encountered was! When you go to the restroom, one of the employees even comes by to fold your napkin for you. UNREAL customer serivice experience! They start off by serving you fresh salami and bread - the salamai was so delicous! We ordered the meatballs and the spicy rigatoni vodka pasta which were both phenomenal. Specially, the spicy rigatoni vodka pasta was to die for - I highly recommend, 12/10!! We finished off with their fresh carrot cake for dessert which was, I'd say, the carrot cake I've ever had!Everything is perfection at Carbone- I'm obsessed and cannot wait to go back!! 5 stars all the way!!!
