My new favorite takeout spot!!! Wow!A fun Venezuelan inspired spot with bowls and lots of options.We had a build your own bowl with white rice, romaine lettuce, shredded chicken, black beans, grated cotija cheese, tajadas (sweet plantains) and chipotle sauce. It was amazing and super filling, we couldn't even finish it!We also ordered 4 mini arepa fritas which were cheesy but not as hot as we'd hoped when they arrived. They came with grated cotija cheese and a delicious sour cream dip. Finally, we ordered a pernil arepa, which came overflowing with pulled pork and stuffed full of cheese and some kind of sauce. This item was really oily and so we also couldn't finish it.I think the different bowls they serve are great way to get some healthy protein, vegetables, and carbs in. However, if you are not in any sort of diet or nutritional regimen and are just wanting to experience some of the more indulgent Venezuelan items, I highly recommend any of the sides or arepas.A great spot I can't wait to order from again!

Caraotas is a small, make your own bowl, type place with delicious Venezuelan food. The food is made for you quickly and the staff is great at recommending things to first timers. My order was made quick, and I enjoyed it thoroughly. You can't go wrong with anything you get there. The place is a bit small, but there is some indoor and outdoor seating. Can't wait to come back!

I think I might've just ordered the wrong things on the menu, but I got the vegan arepa and it was quite disappointing. The soy was flavorless and cold and the rest of the arepa was lackluster because of it. I see other comments enjoying the bowls, and I suppose that's the big attraction to this spot bc it's a bowl version of Venezuelan food.I also got the peanut butter shake which wasn't bad, but it was very very peanut buttery - which may be good to some people. So I don't dock them for that. The staff was a bunch of hard working young men and they were very nice.

Really glad that Caraotas is bringing the Venezuelan flare to NYC. From the outside walking, you can see the sign and notice that arepas and milkshakes are their specialties. The inside is nice and bright and inviting too and I like that you can see what you're going to get.Their bowls remind me of chipotle so I didn't to be traditional and get the arepa. I think you get more food with a bowl but it was still really good. They load up with the filling and the sauces are pretty flavorful. I definitely want to try their milkshakes and see what's up with those cause they looked too good to pass up.

Caraotas is so delicious. I love everything about their bowls and arepas. Last night they didn't have arepas but I got the bowls and it was delicious as usual and super flavorful. I always get the braised beef or pulled pork bowl and it's so good and healthy. It comes with jasmine rice that's so soft and aromatic, black beans and your choice of protein and sauces with a small amount of pico de gallo and lettuce. The cilantro sauce and sour cream is my go to. The sweet plantains added to the bowl is a plus as the sweet and savory just pairs so well together and gives your taste palate a sensational burst of fresh flavors. I've ordered multiple times. They do mess up Ubereats orders and forget extra stuff added to the bowl but in person they get it just right. I highly recommend and their shakes are also amazing but I don't have a picture of that today.The Ambiance in pretty laid back but I do mostly order out!

Tasty and filling!After seeing Caraotas on TikTok and hearing neighbors rave about this place, I finally tried it. I really wanted a bowl with brown rice and chicken but they were out of brown rice so I settled for white rice. I also wanted chipotle sauce which they were out of. According to TikTok, guacamole isn't extra but upon arriving, I learned that wasn't true. The reviews state that the milkshakes are delicious so I ordered the pistachio shake but the ice cream was way too frozen so I couldn't get my shake. While they were out of if a lot of stuff, what they did have was delicious and fresh so I gave it four stars. Would have given it five if they weren't out of everything. I'll try it again in a couple of weeks and hope all the options are available and that I can get my free milkshake as promised :).

Maybe I'm tripping but I don't understand the hype. I did really like the milkshake I got, it had real fruit in it and was nice and thick and I'm surprised it didn't melt from the delivery. But for the bowl, it had like very little seasoning and was just average - the rice was bland, the corn looked like it just came out of a can, the onions were raw not pickled. I wouldn't order from here again probably.

Really friendly staff and good first experience with Venezuelan food. The space is on the smaller side but they had outdoor seating was well. Would definitely go again.

I got the pulled pork (pernil) bowl and they FILLED it up. It's pretty to look at because of all the colors of the toppings and it was tasty too. Each bowl came with plantains which I was happy about. I would come back to try their burgers next time I'm in Bushwick.

This review is based on my 3rd experience. Unfortunately, I received my order and my burger did not come in the format that I have had experienced it twice before it seems that they're hiring new staff, and perhaps the staff did not fix my burger the way that was requested. It was the end of the night I could not turn around and have another burger delivered so I chose to call instead of write a review because I want to make sure that as a business that when it comes down to fixing some thing that they will fix the issue and resolve on the customers, behalf and satisfaction , unfortunately I called today and explained the issue with my food last night. I spent $30 for three items and I tipped and honestly I thought that I was hung up on today accidentally. However I went to call back three times and now I learned that I was hung up on intentionally , so they did not want to resolve the issue and that's not good business.if they want business with me or my household that spends almost a minimum of $40 each time we order, management should respond so I'm left to write this review and I'm going to go to Google and post a Google review if they don't want to respond to me because it's unprofessional not to respond They can check my water but I want better customer service because I feel like I was nice about it, and I tried to think of the business first rather than to leave a bad review, but I definitely don't like to be ignored. I hope that we can fix this.
