This was excellent, especially the bread/butter, butter bean puree, and cavatelli. We also loved the oxtail and carrots. We'd probably skip the caesar next time around. I did prefer their other restaurant (Place Des Fetes) significantly more.

One of my favorite restaurants so far in Brooklyn. We came for a birthday and they gave us complimentary glasses of champagne to celebrate. We sat in the back indoor area near the bar, and I noticed they have an outdoor space that probably would be really nice to sit in during the spring. We ordered pretty much the entire menu, and one of my favorites was the pissaladiere. The bread they use was so fresh and crunchy. There was also a summer melon iced dish that stood out. Their menu seems to change all the time, so might not be worth it for me to post all the standouts but the general theme was you can't really go wrong with whatever you order.Would highly recommend for a date night, or even to celebrate an occasion like birthday (I was able to reserve a party of 6 previously).

I am very skeptical of brunch and have maybe never been to a brunch spot that really inspired me. Until now. We love their sister restaurant so we were excited to try this. We loved everything. The menu isn't terribly large so I was a bit nervous. A table nearby got the pomme paillasson, which we probably wouldn't have gotten without seeing first how delicious it looked. It's a fancy hashbrown, fine. But the aioli is outrageous. I would've bought this by the pound. And we subsequently put it on everything else we could. The Caesar was one of the best we've ever had. Each leaf was delicately dressed in the flavorful dressing. Lovely texture to each of the leaves that we could individually grab and enjoy.Turkey, poblano, avocado was nice. Probably the least interesting but still so good. Not a HUGE focaccia fan but, again, with the aioli from before it was great.Ended with the sausage, egg, & cheese sandwich at the recommendation of our waiter. This was lovely. The sausage was not your average sausage and had really nice kick to it. The drinks were delicious, maybe even better than we were expecting. The place itself has such a nice ambiance that's not overwhelming despite having a ton of tables. Dropped by Laurel on the way out, of course. While again the menu wasn't so extensive, if we needed brunch in the area I would consider coming back.

We LOVE Cafe Mado! We visit at least once every time we come to Brooklyn. It's a great spot for brunch/lunch/dinner/mock/cocktail before or after a trip to the Brooklyn Museum. The space is beautiful -- we love to sit at the bar because it's got tons of windows and is surrounded by tree and also we always meet great people and the folks who work there are awesome! The food is beyond amazing. Faves include the Caesar salad and the fries. Their pork with 5 spice seasoning is delicious and you'll want to try their Brooklyn bitters and soda, any cocktail or mocktail, or coffees. Highly recommend!

I loved everything about this place. Its small door opening is deceiving because when you walk to the back is like a garden oasis. We stopped her for lunch. The plates are not large but delicious with flavor. We had the pasta dish, fries, salad that changes regularly, sausage egg and cheese sandwich, chocolate chip cookie, chocolate sponge cake. We ordered the pasta twice it was that delicious. The chocolate sponge cake was a surprise in every bite. There was a bit of caramel, raspberry and lovely whip cream. The service was attentive and pleasant. We stayed for a while and were not rushed. When I visit NYC again, I be sue to the dinner.

When I told someone I was going to the Brooklyn Museum of Art, they said I should definitely grab lunch here first. Good suggestion! It's a wonderful place for a solo lunch on their leafy back patio. The turkey, poblano, and avocado sandwich on focaccia was sooo good. And those fries! It's a short menu but I wanted to try everything. And I can guarantee you that I will the next time I'm in Brooklyn. Bravo, Cafe Mado!

This was a shockingly good lunch that I will remember. I got the recommendation from a friend and finally was able to try it for brunch on a Saturday. We ordered the following:Le Caesar salad - thoroughly dressed and fresh leaves - excellent Trout rillette- tasty starter and also filling - loved the picklesFries - thin but not too thin and crispy, thoroughly seasoned and paired w garlic aioli - yumCrispy hake - light and airy tempura with a flavorful sauce and their take on an elevated tartar sauce - deliciousHighly recommend. It was definitely a rich meal but glad we had the rest of the day to burn it off. The interior is open with lots of natural light and modern-like seating.

Cafe Mado is brought to us by the same folks who own Place des Fêtes, but serves a more eclectic vegetable-forward menu with a French sensibility. For a vegetarian, it's one of the most enjoyable new menus of this genre to appear in years. Our favorite dishes were the fava bean pici, which was bright green and perfectly al dente, and the bean purée with ramps, which reminded me of one of my other favorite dishes at Roman's in Fort Greene. The blackened yuba was also enjoyed, although perhaps I'm just not used to seeing yuba served with tomato sauce.Even if you don't feel like sitting in the garden, the skylight in the dining room gives the whole space a pleasing airiness.

We came here for brunch last month and were pleasantly surprised! We sat in the back patio, which is bright and airy. The food was amazing! Not your average brunch fare - quite experimental with a focus on seasonality. I also loved the breads! Service was friendly and attentive at all times. I'd definitely recommend checking it out!
