When it's warm out there is the option to sit outside in the backyard area.My server was attentive checking in etc. We had an early reservation for 5:30 and when we left a little before 7 the place was busy . The friend I was dining with has a severe allergy to tomatoes and tomato based products and her mom fresh black pepper. Our server confirmed with the kitchen on both and was proactive which was fantastic. We started with the crostini. We ordered the chicken pate, mushroom and the honey and ricotta. Each one was lovely light and flavorful. Eloy Y. "New York City excels at many things, but one of its finest achievements? Italian food. As the birthplace of red-sauce Italian American cooking, it has plenty of top-notch options, and these days, it can feel as if all of Italy is represented here.  Located on the corner of 38th Street and 9th Avenue in Hell's Kitchen, Il Punto translates from Italian, meaning the point is where my partner, my cousin, and I came tonight for some of us as a repeat performance for dinner. Reservations via Yelp are highly recommended, as it gets crowded inside this cozy establishment, as experienced from our last visit a year ago.  Upon arrival a bit early, we were greeted by Antonio, who welcomed us with joy and showed us the passion in him for what he does. He escorted us to our table.  Their menu serves classic Italian dishes from the regions of Florence, Naples, Milan, Rome, Puglia, and beyond, featuring the star of the show, their house-made fresh pastas.  As an appetizer, we each decided on the arancino stuffed with bolognese sauce and mozzarella cheese. For our entrée, we opted for Tagliolini neri ai Frutti di Mare with homemade fresh squid ink tagliolini, Pappardelle alla Bolognese with homemade fresh pappardelle, and one of the specials featuring homemade ravioli with pancetta. We even saved room for dessert and got tortino al cioccolato (chocolate cake), cuore di Sicilia (homemade Sicilian almond pastry), and cannoli di siciliana . Complimentary breadsticks and bread started our meal.  Our food was fresh, seasoned well, and beautifully presented. Their staff were extremely friendly, helpful, and very attentive, especially our server, Luis. The price was relatively to the area.  We loved everything about Il Punto. We were made to feel welcome from the moment we walked through the door and continue to recommend."

Our planning period was around 6-7 months, and the whole process was fairly easy and low-key. I researched other restaurants/venues in Brooklyn, and it was the most affordable/had the best value out of all the options we looked into. We met with Meryl (the Bacchus coordinator) a few times and she was great to work with. We went in for a tasting, and the food was incredible. On the day of, the weather was unexpectedly awful and extremely windy, and Meryl and the Bacchus crew were able to seamlessly adjust the seating last minute. The venue itself is lovely, so we didn't have to do much for decorations and just ordered flowers for the tables. The wine bar section just got renovated literally a day or two before our wedding - and it was beautiful! We highly recommend Bacchus as a wedding venue!!"

Michael B. "DESTINATION NIRVANA ! On our first dinner visit here we were hoping to run into a few of the Italian tennis players after their matches at the US Tennis Open. OH WELL ! We didn't see any tennis stars but the food, drinks, service and ambience were beyond sensational. Before we finished our 2 week vacation in New York, NY we knew we had to return here. On Wed, Sept 11th we decided to turn up cold turkey at 5.pm....we couldn't get a reservation. YEAH BABY ! The kind host told us we had a table until 7pm. At this point we had the entire beautiful dining room to ourselves...but not for long. A fun server named Luca soon came by to help us. FIRST UP ! A really nice ice cold beer would be great...I chose the same one as on our first visit. In the meantime our good mate Flavio the colorful food runner brought us a glass carafe of water and 2 glasses. Luca returned with my ice cold Five Boroughs Tiny Juice IPA in a lovely tall glass...it tasted very refreshing. WHOO HOO ! And then Flavio brought us Complimentary Artisan Bread with dipping sauce....many restaurants do not hand out free bread anymore. OH YEAH ! To kick things off we ordered 1 x Suppli Cacio Pepe ( fried rice balls with cheese and black pepper ) Appetizer. We tried the fried rice balls on our first visit....totally delicious. Not to be confused with arancini which we also love. Our rustic Italian artisan bread tasted lovely. ENTREES ! My wife ordered Lasagna Alla Bolognese ( typical lasagna bolognese style ) while I had to have the Pinsa Fichi e Prosciutto ( Roman flat bread with fresh mozzarella, Parma prosciutto and figs ) on the SPECIALS. WHOO HOO ! Out came our Fried Rice Balls appetizer courtesy of Flavio the polite food runner. TOO DELICIOUS FOR WORDS ! In fact we ordered 3 more...one serve of each variety to take back to our apartment. Just after 6pm our entree meals hit the table. My wife loved her well made Lasagna Bolognese heaps but not quite as much as the unforgettable Baked Rigatoni on our first visit. THE BEST FLATBREAD EVER ! My Fig & Prosciutto Roman Flatbread totally nailed it....brown and a bit crispy underneath but delicately bready on top with the prosciutto, figs & fresh mozzarella. When our server Luca checked on us again I ordered another beer...this time a Montauk Easy Riser Belgian White. It came out pretty quick...ice cold in a lovely tall glass and tasted very good. By now the beautiful dining room was virtually packed out. THERE'S TIME ! At 6.25pm we ordered desserts...1 x Tortino al Cioccolato ( chocolate lava cake with vanilla gelato ) and 1 x Gelato ( pistachio-chocolate-vanilla ). I tried this Italian gelato trio on our first visit and it was as good as it gets. Our decadent looking desserts arrived promptly and disappeared almost as fast....Made in Heaven. We paid the bill by credit card and headed for the front door thanking Luca, Flavio and Gabriele along the way. The interesting looking dude behind the bar was Giovanni Bartocci ( the co-owner with his business partner Marco Ventura ). I told Giovanni we loved our 2 dinner visits to their fabulous restaurant. I HAD TO ASK ! Do you identify more with Roman or Italian....the instant reply was Roman with some Italian. Giovanni was born in Rome. HOW GOOD ? As good if not better than any Italian restaurant we have dined in world wide !CHECK OUT - my walk thru here at https://www.youtube.com/shorts/YTNUhqGPR2cNOTE - Of course with 20 million views of my Yelp reviews and pics world wide in 2023 I can tell you what is great !"

Jonathan B. "Il Corso is a pleasant neighborhood Italian restaurant with solid food and a very good selection of wine. It's predominantly southern Italian cuisine. 30 years and counting so you know they are doing some things well. Lots of regulars who the servers seem to greet by name. There are maybe 20 tables spread across two rooms separated by the kitchen and prep area. The relatively small spaces with low ceilings means things can get loud and hard to hear your dining companions. On to the food...Avocado e Carciofini: Smashed avocado mixed with artichokes hearts topped with slices of parmigiana cheese. I've never seen this on a menu before. It was delicious and somewhat addicting. Paccheri con Crema di Pistacchio e Salsiccia: sweet sausage are served with tube pasta and coated with a mascarpone & pistachio cream. A rich dish- a little too rich. We ate it all but probably shouldn't have.Fettuccine con Funghi e Prosciutto: Mushrooms and prosciutto with a truffle cream sauce. Not too creamy. Definitely worth repeating. You can substitute gluten free or whole wheat pasta in any dish for an additional charge. With so many Italian restaurants in NYC, it's hard to justify coming from across town but I'd definitely come back if I was staying nearby."

Highly recommend this-Plenta: Would pass on this - the smell was very off-putting for the majority of us and we were not a fan of the texture-Gamberetti: The shrimp was really good, the flavors went really well with the shrimp and the shrimp was perfectly cooked. -Fettuccine: This was just alright, nothing special. The pasta was perfectly cooked but the flavor was just alright -Linguine: Highly recommend this; the flavors were so good together. -For Dessert they gave us: tirasmisu, chocolate cake and panna cotta - the best one was tiramisu in my opinion.Overall cute spot for a date and the food was pretty good!"

The iberico ham and picos were fresh and crunchy, the pica pica felt healthy and light, and the patatas bravas was rich and creamy! They were some of the best appetizers I have ever had. The braised oxtail was very solid (very rich in bechamel sauce) and the grilled octopus was rich in all the infused herbs and spices. The only knock I would give in this experience is the many mosquitoes if you sit patio, but there isn't much that can be done, and they try combating it with repellant candles. There's no better burger in town, and the Steaks, pot roast, fish, soups and salads are always good. The banana cream pie is a pillowy mountain of delight. It's always packed pre theater, and reservations can be hard to come by at peak hours. but you can often snag a seat at the bar, which is convivial and totally cool. Derek Z. "I am surprised this is one of the most famous restaurants in Brooklyn, but it was definitely worth the experience. Packed in a bustling wooden room with 50 other people, the dim lighting helped isolate the tables and gave a warm energy. The server checked in regularly and helped clean the table which was nice. The red he suggested was palatable and not too sour as well. As for the food, I was a little sad we had to pay for bread, but it was definitely worth it. The sourdough and the rich butter were a great opener and the gnocco was a disappointing follow up. I liked the airiness of the enlargened fried hollow gnocchi but the fried flavor overshadowed the prosciutto. The skewers came next and these were some of the most tender skewers I've ever had. They had a decent kick to them and the egg yolk umami flavor paired well with the sweet and spicy. I used some of the bread for the egg yolk too and I highly recommend doing that to get that salty creamy spread on your bread. The beans and pasta came next. The beans were pretty massive and the sweet potato was a pleasant highlight, but the brodo broth was too salty for my liking and overwhelmed the dish. The pasta was much better where the mushroom was savory while the squash was sweet, blending together nicely. The finale was the golden chicken and this was a work of beauty. Crispy thin skin with juicy meat - I might prefer this over some Peking ducks. The only downside was the sauce was all over the spinach and that itself was too salty, but worked well when paired with the chicken. Great experience as long as you avoid the jus/broths and reasonably priced."

Empire Steak House

Ryan G. "Came for the first time this past Tuesday evening. It was a good dinner, but I am conflicted about a couple of things. My fillet au Poirve was absolutely stellar, Wonderful, piping-hot baked potato, and my dining companion's steak was gorgeous as well. The onion rings were a crashing disappointment, barely warm and definitely not crispy. Here's where my dissatisfaction begins: it seems there is "team service" at this steakhouse. There were three people seeing to my table, and the one person that I told about the onion rings dropped the ball. I had stated my dissatisfaction, and that I would like a new order, but nothing ever happened. The plate of pale, limp rings was left on our table. Even as plates were being cleared, I commented to the server "I suppose we won't be getting that re-order of onion rings?" to which he said "You want more onion rings?" We ultimately were also charged for the disappointing onion rings. While I'm sure team service is a successful formula for them, I found it to be frustrating and confusing. My other two issues were that the music being played at the restaurant was an 80s playlist. I heard Def Leppard, Roxette, and Phil Collins while dining at a "posh steakhouse". Finally, Empire has a custom, clearly, where multiple members of staff sing happy birthday to tables that have a birthday celebrate. This is a full-scale, loud production. Within the space of my one hour and 20 minute meal, there were three different birthdays, and the spectacle of the "happy birthday" song derailed the calm and peaceful evening that I was hoping to have at this restaurant. The steaks were spectacular, but I am left with lingering dissatisfaction at the service, the soundtrack, and they are disruptive practice of "the happy birthday song"."

Jando S. "Some folks might be quick to assume Ammazzacaffè is some kind of play on words to suggest an "Amazing Cafe" but it's actually an Italian term for a miniature glass with some liquor to mask the taste of coffee. (#1) No one should be masking the taste of the food here because everything is tasty. Add in some excellent service, intimate vibe, and overall quality experience and this is how 5 star reviews get written. The place is quaint with a sexy bar, intimate seating, and a really killer outdoor space. I had the pleasure of attending a special event in the back and enjoyed every minute of it. The staff was on it for every course and was good about directing guests to the back. They were quick to refill drinks, wines, and keep the place looking ship shape while they transitioned for the next course.Every item I sample, I enjoyed immensely. The gramiga, torcia, and agnolotti pastas were fresh and tasty with every bite. Folks who love a bolognese option would appreciate the garganelli, as well as the reginette which features a pork ragu. Bonus points for scoring their campanelle nero, which is their special squid ink based pasta. From their creamy and delectable burrata to their polpette meatballs, I don't think there's a dish where one can really go wrong. The sea trout tartare is an interesting option, as is their sunchoke hazelnut pesto. Their barbarbietole is a summer palate pleaser with roasted beets, smoked ricotta, pistaachio, and pickled fig.Their coppa is a roasted pork collar ($35) but it is still not as mighty as the anatra ($42), a dry aged duck that is their most expensive entree. While folks might love the pollo ($32) chicken breast, I think most everyone else will appreciate the pesce ($37) grilled branzino or the manzo ($40) braised short rib. The latter is so good that it's hard to call it a shared dish when I can easily kill it all on my own.Finish off the meal with one of their extremely extensive amaro + dessert selection. The former is where the name stems from and the choices are flat out overwhelming. No matter the choice, it'll be a great way to end what should be an outstanding meal.___________(#1) "Coffee killer."My photos: https://www.yelp.com/biz_photos/ammazzacaff%C3%A8-brooklyn?userid=ysCBsXWPB-LAiewVS3jZfQ"
