I believe this is due to the popularity of a serviceable, but hip Vietnamese option nearby.This is the best Banh Mi I have had. I keep trying others, but the bread here is unmatched. I'm told they get it fresh from a bakery in Brooklyn. The spiced pork sausage they use is also perfect. The pho can b from exceptional to greatest of all time. Wife had cashew chicken, which I tried, and was very good. Teen got a bento box, and it was amazing! Shrimp Teriyaki, chicken karage, fried Shrimp shumai and a california roll with white rice. I could have eaten two full orders of shrimp fried dumpling/shumai alone! It was just that awesome!!!We also wanted a side of pan fried sugar snap peas, and a whole order came- but they were fabulous!!! We kept them, snd it was worth it. Servers were all nice & helpful, and we felt appreciated. The decor was nice, and it was fairly quiet. So low noise.Definitely want to go back again! This is a keeper, and in my top twenty restaurants of all time. YOU SHOULD GO!"

"3.5 stars overall -- IG posted a foodie video and down the rabbit hole I went. This restaurant has two levels, first floor is dimly lit, cozy and is quieter and good for conversation. There are several small tables and bar counter seating. Downstairs is where you'll find the larger dining room with a much livelier crowd of patrons (and restrooms). Definitely good for groups and the more social, drinking crowd as it's even darker downstairs. The main menu is two sided, the front - it's tasting menu received a Michelin Bib Gourmand award at $53/pp (Dec. 2024), which is served family style. They will do their best to accommodate food allergies but in some cases it may not be possible. (My shrimp allergy made it a bit challenging to dine here but there was plenty on the menu to choose aside from that). On the back of the menu, you'll find the a la carte style options. Overall I liked the menu options here better and the waitress was mindful of my shrimp allergy so she pointed out what could be altered and what couldn't.We started off with the vegetarian turmeric crepe with mushrooms and fish sauce (served on the side). There was an option to add protein for an additional supplement but we chose to keep it vegetarian. The crepe was very crisp like an egg roll would be. But the mushrooms being so mild in flavor, this dish could've used another ingredient to bring out more taste. We were not a fan and didn't finish it. As per the IG reel, you know I had to order the Short Rib Grilled cheese sandwich. It was served with a Beef broth as a dipping "au jus". The sandwich looked and tasted good! They could've been a little more generous with the meat portion as it was a bit skimpier looking than the IG post. The beef broth was the best compliment and that completed this dish to make it satisfying.For our main entrees, my friend ordered the fish, Cha Ca La. It was a turmeric branzino perfectly pan seared. The skin and outer texture was crisp without drying the rest of the meat. The flesh was soft and very moist. It was the best dish we had this evening. I ordered the Mi Vit Tiem, which was a roasted five spice duck. Paired with thick egg noodles and shitake mushrooms with duck sauce. This duck was served sliced, a bit fatty but it was perfectly seasoned. The egg noodles were soaking up some of that duck sauce which gave it more flavor. Just the dish was a bit oily. Duck was a good portion.I must mention the wine list and cocktail menu. Lots of great choices for those who like to drink and dine. I had a glass of the orange rose (Das ist Schon). It smelled wonderful and should have had an Asian pear undertone but I think I tasted more citrus instead. Very fragrant and the waitress was right to pour first to taste before serving a regular glass. That I appreciated very much. I took a photo to remember the brand and type.The execution of the dishes overall, were a bit inconsistent. I think the restaurant tried very well to accommodate the "sauce on the side" and adjusted for my allergy. However, some of the dishes just didn't work out. Great service overall and thanks for the complimentary duck fat to go!"

The quality of the sandwiches was good - lots of filling, fresh vegetables and meats, nice texture to the bread - and prices were very reasonable. The meat had a little less flavor than some other places I've ordered from before, but I would still get either sandwich again.I ordered the fried spring rolls expecting them to be cha gio, but they tasted like the vegetable spring rolls you'd get at any Chinese takeout place instead, which was a little disappointing. I would skip those on any future order.Overall, the banh mi was good. I like some other places nearby better, but I would get them again. I would sub something else for the spring rolls though."

On the D train, I was met with the sudden urge to expel myself and the closest restaurant at the next stop was Kitchen Co Ut.First things first: bathroom is an 8/10. Clean, spacious, not deathly cold, but no frills. I like my bathrooms with decorations.Honestly, the food was ok. I wasn't expecting much but I was curious considering their rapid expansion. I'd say they get points for having less conventional items on the menu for more adventurous crowds. I should've ordered the Bo Ne (Vietnamese Breakfast Meat Platter) or Cari Ga Curry Chicken). But their bread and butter is the chokehold they have on NYC on Vietnamese Deli meats. Some highlights are the Banh Bot Loc and that pandan honeycomb thing. If you like jelly desserts, try their Che Ba Mau; it's a milky sweet drink with different kinds of jelly. I had the banh bot loc (Tapioca Shrimp fumplings) and it's.... aight. Too much tapioca to filling but they're also the only place in NY that reliably has that so... they're my only fix for now."

The accoutrements consist of some spicy chilies and vinegar garlic which elevate the taste further, and just when you think you have a perfect dish, a spice packed garlic, cilantro hot sauce if what you can request for, if you enjoy spicy food - which goes extremely well with the rice noodles!The Crab Fried Rice ($32) from the Chefs special menu was amazing too and was a good plate to share between two. This dish accompanies the hot sauce.Specific shoutout to Jaycee for her excellent service, attentiveness, and her contagious smile! It makes the place feel so lovely and comforting.We had our yummy chicken banh mi, along with some veg gyoza which were both delicious, as usual! Solid drink options - alcoholic and non-alcoholic. What makes this place extra great also are the kind servers and their attention to detail, as well as the beautiful setting of the restaurant itself and their backyard.I hesitate to even review this place and share ut because it is so tranquil and peaceful while we are there and I don't want it overrun with people.
