"I had a phenomenal dinner out on my own at Boqueria while staying at the AC Hotel. Tapas for one isn't always a fulfilling adventure but I sat at the bar, and Manny the bartender took great care of me. I started off with the Pineapple Express (mezcal, aperol, pineapple, blood orange and ginger). It was the right amount of sweet and spicy. Manny then offered up some great food suggestions and I loved the Pintxos Morunos (lamb skewers with an exquisite salsa verde) and the Ensalada Vasca (market lettuce, spring herbs, and creamy garlic dressing), which sounds simple but had complex and well-balanced flavor. I finished up with the Churros Clásicos with Nutella. Everything was perfect from the food, ambiance, music, and service! Would happily return!"
"Unbelievable. We had a party of 9 on a Saturday night at 830 PM. Because of the party size, we had to do a set tasting menu. We had 1 veg, 1 allergy to fish, 1 dairy free.Xixa delivered! The drinks and service were quick, attentive, and fun! Our first course, a fried fish taco, came out around 850 and it was the best fish taco I've ever had. Light, airy, meaty, perfect accoutrement, house made tortillas, and just an absolute hit. The veg/non fish got a fried eggplant taco that they raved about too! I won't list every course, but they were all incredible, unique in a familiar way, and very sizable. I was so full at the end and we even got a double dessert because we were celebrating some events. My favorite dish was the crispy pork osso buco taco, but everything was exceptional. We got 9 of us fed 11 courses, multiple drinks, and great service the whole way in about 2.25 hours. I hope I get the honor to go back again soon. Thank you Xixa (Shiksa)!"

"Great! Loved the food, service, value. Accommodating and unpretentious, this place is a gem and I will definitely be back!"
"The Loring place served as the perfect dinner spot for guests of all tastes. They had something on the menu for all tastes and you can just tell the quality and source of the food was high. The ambience was great as well and served as the perfect date spot or just an evening of catching up with friends. You can't go wrong with any of their pizzas and the shaved Brussels were delicious. Definitely will be going back to try more menu items next time I'm back in the city."
"SERVICE- located in a slightly quieter part of East Village- the door has no signs but is painted rainbow- quaint floral themed inside with seating for groups of 2-4- we came on a Monday night so it was not super crowded but I would still make a reservation to ensure you get a table- our server maya was amazing! She checked in on us right when we were finishing our plates and offered to make us custom drinks based on our preferences- food comes out as it is made with the appetizers being served before the entrees MENU- global inspired small bites and shareables with creative drinks menu- happy hour specials on drinks and buns from 4:00 - 6:30 daily - all vegan - slightly pricey ($25 per person) FOOD- kimchi arancini (8/10): four rice and cream cheese croquettes on a bed of spicy chili sauce topped with pickled daikon radish. This was such a unique take on a classic arancini. The crispy panko on the outside makes a satisfying first bite that opens up into a comforting creamy inside. The chili sauce is not too spicy but has a fermented flavor from the kimchi that offsets the richness of the filling. This dish is great to share between 2-4 people as a starter. - dumplings (9/10): five mushroom and cabbage filled dumplings on a coconut curry sauce with a drizzle of basil oil. As a curry lover I had to try this dish. The sauce was so rich and flavorful I would have been happy with a bowl of just that. I liked how the dumplings actually had a taste on their own as some veggie dumplings tend to be bland. This makes a great shareable or a portion for one. - tonkatsu eggplant sandwich (7/10): white bread filled with crispy eggplant cutlet, coleslaw, tonkatsu date sauce, and a pickle on the side. Out of the three dishes we ordered, this was my least favorite. I felt like the white bread was overpowering and plain. After tasting so many different flavors, I thought they could have done something to elevate it like add a sesame seed crust on the outside. The filling also did not have much flavor. It felt nostalgic and a more elevated version of a sandwich that I may have eaten as a child. - matcha tres leches (6/10): matcha sponge cake layered with coconut whipped cream and strawberries served in a wide wine glass. This was one of two dessert options on the menu. If it was marketed as a coconut or berry tres leches, I would be ranking it higher. The matcha flavor was too subtle for something that is labeled "matcha". I unfortunately was not wowed. WOULD I GO BACK? Yes! Loved the food and ambiance and our super nice server."
"Mushroom Truffle Flatbread was delicious. I recommend it.Service was a bit slow but hostess was nice and led me to a seat and got me water. It is a little dark inside but there's AC which is great, especially for the summer. There is also outdoor seating if you like and it's much brighter outside."
"Nice cozy restaurant- came here with family for restaurant week. Our server was great and gets 4 stars. He was hussling between many tables. Very friendly and efficient. We ordered the following tapas for our appetizers: croquettes, shrimp and brussel sprouts. Tasty all around! For our paellas - we ordered three options: paella socarrat, paella arroz negro and paella de la huerta. Most flavorful option was the 'la Huerta' version. The other options might not have been as flavorful was because the ingredients may have been added on top of the rice and didn't have enough time to absorbed the ingredients' flavors. Still good but we had high hopes for the flavor.Desserts - flan was hands down the better choice over churros."
"Typically when I go to these more expensive restaurants, I do a lot of research. But then for some reason this placed appealed to us enough on Google Maps to want to go and I'm so glad we did because it's now one of my favorite restaurants in NYC. We made a reservation beforehand on a weekday night and I think that is a bit of a must as there was quite a bit of people inside. We ordered 6 dishes for 2 people and it turned out to be a lot of food. I feel like 5 dishes could've been enough. I have noted them down based on my favorite (corn dumpling) to my least favorite (steak).- Corn Dumpling - Suprisingly this was my favorite thing of the night. I didn't really care for the sauce or the breading of the dumpling as I thought it was too thick, but the filling was to die for. It was a bit sweet with a lot of corn flavor. It really was just something I've never had before which is quite rare. I would eat the filling inside straight up.- Gumbo - I feel like this is a really weird thing to like but I actually loved their gumbo. The flavor profile was almost a combination of tomato soup, which I loved. On top of that, there were so many ingredients inside, especially crawfish. For a high-end restaurant, I was really happy that there was a dish that would both fill me up and also taste great.- Noodle - I don't know what they did to this noodle. In fact, these noodles don't even have any sort of protein inside it but I absolutely loved that they were super garlic-y but also had a kick of spice.- Berkshire Rib - This was my boyfriend's favorite dish of the night! The first bite was marvelous as not only were the ribs incredibly tender but the smoky flavor was present throughout the entire rib. I feel like a lot of BBQ restaurants claim that the flavor is in their meats but this one was probably the most I ever resonated with that statement. After a while of eating this, I felt that the rib was a bit much and wish there was some sort of pickle or whatnot to cut through the meaty-ness.- Lobster Roll - I actually really liked the bread of this dish, but I still like the more traditional lobster rolls more. I did enjoy the pickled celery a lot though!Steak - I thought this was actually one of the weaker dishes of the night. The steak's raw parts were a bit tough, and the mushroom sauce cracked a little, which was interesting.Overall, fantastic eat and I will be back to try more of their foods. Also, I really am excited now to try their sister restaurant, Thursday Kitchen, to see what is the difference."
"This place was amazing! We ordered a pitcher of sangria which for a party of 2 was about 4 glasses each. The iberico ham and picos were fresh and crunchy, the pica pica felt healthy and light, and the patatas bravas was rich and creamy! They were some of the best appetizers I have ever had. The braised oxtail was very solid (very rich in bechamel sauce) and the grilled octopus was rich in all the infused herbs and spices. The only knock I would give in this experience is the many mosquitoes if you sit patio, but there isn't much that can be done, and they try combating it with repellant candles. This was a great experience and can't wait to come back here."
"I've been intrigued by aRoqa for quite a while, so one night, when I was craving Indian food, we came in. No reservations needed for a Tuesday evening. aRoqa is definitely an upscale Indian restaurant, with a smartly decorated interior and nice bar. We ordered chicken biriyani, butter chicken, and garlic naan (basic, I know). The chicken biriyani was a modest portion, and I was pleasantly surprised to see an addition of crunchy caramelized onions on to (reminds me of a Mediterranean dish). This dish is bone in, and the chicken is very moist, but there were some chicken bits (tendon?) that I found myself biting into that somewhat soured the experience. The raita was much thicker than I'm used to, more of a creamy sweet addition than the usual thin, refreshing raita. This dish was just ok to me. Butter chicken was amazing. Obviously this dish is always good, but it was really delicious here, we surprisingly finished off the entire dish and I found myself licking the spoon at the end. The chicken chunks are large and juicy, but you'll need to cut them with a knife. Garlic naan was delicious - crispy, brushed with butter, incredibly flavorful. Just wish there was more to soak up the delicious butter chicken sauce. Service was very attentive, our waters were filled very quickly. Overall, solid meal. I'm not sure the slight elevation of Indian food is worth the hike in prices, but your options are somewhat limited in the area. I'm not dying to go back, but it definitely hit my Indian food craving."
"Had a great dinner at Kubeh last night with some friends! I've walked past this place a million times and always thought it was a fast casual place based on how the outside entrance looks, but was surprised to find how deep the restaurant is and how upscale the food is. We were seated immediately for our reservation and our server was very attentive. We got all three dips to share, and numerous mezze and small plates and there wasn't a bad one in the bunch. I particularly loved the Fattoush salad and the Mediterranean shrimp. All the ingredients of everything tasted fresh and homemade. Only slight issue was how loud the restaurant is. I think the high ceilings make for challenging acoustics. Highly recommend!"
"This is my first time eating here. I ordered royale with moroccan spices, amba, tahini, pickled eggplant, black lentil, and tabouli. Their food tasted flavorful. This restaurant is a casual and lively ambiance with outdoor seating, making it a popular choice for groups. The restaurant provides vegetarian options, takeout, and delivery, and its menu features a variety of flavorful tapas, entrees, and brunch dishes made with fresh ingredients and Moroccan spices. Great service."

Excellent Food - tapas made it very easy for us to sample a lot of different dishes.Service at 6pm was not bad although it was very busy. We had a 8pm show and we let our waitress know. She did a great job moving us through the dishes without feeling rushed and we did not need to compromise on the dishes we wanted.Ambience at 6pm was energetic but this is true of any of the Boquerias.

We made a resy for eight on a Saturday night. One of the main reasons why we chose this place was for the ease of having a set tasting menu. It was even better when the tasting menu was super affordable at around 56 dollars!I got two cocktails. They were good but not something to write home about. Our set menu started with guacamole and 3 types of chips. It was very standard. I would've wanted a few more chips as we still had guacamole left. The fish tacos were great with a sweet beet topping? I was expecting them to be pickled. I think it needed a bit more citrus. The burrata with possibly ?fried green tomatoes was interesting. The lamb meatballs and pita course was interesting. It definitely tasted more Mediterranean than Mexican, which was a little disjointed with the overall vibe of the menu. But it was very well done. The scallop with noodles with artichoke sauce was my favorite of the night. The chicken wings were very crisply fried and super tasty . Lastly I think we had a super crispy pork shank with tortillas. At this point, we were already so happily full from the meal.We ended with churros and a funfetti tres leche. The service was friendly. I would give it a 4.5/5. Definitely would come back for another big group dinner. Excited to see how the menu changes seasonally.

Very creative offerings at this cozy restaurant. We had the $75 pre-fixe menu shown in the photo. Everything was beautifully presented and tasted wonderful. My favorite was definitely the sea urchin -- very fresh and a generous amount. I will say that the kimch cucumbers were a bit on the soft side, which is different than my Korean mother-in-law makes. Service is friendly and attentive. We had a reservation, but our table ended being the one right where everyone was standing and waiting so we elected to wait for the next available, which took longer than we expected. Not a big deal, but just sharing that that first table into the restaurant seems way too close to the those waiting.

Another great visit to Loring Place for a family dinner! I want to express my appreciation for this excellent restaurant, perfect for any occasion, whether it's a family gathering or a business meeting. This time, we tried the chicory salad (a winter special), which was an amazing combination of bitter greens and sweet orange flavors. The broccoli salad featured tender grilled broccoli with radishes--an intriguing addition topped with a delightful dressing. The young beets salad was also very good. Additionally, we were treated to complimentary dishes from the chef, including rich hummus, an apple and celery root salad, and incredibly tasty butternut fries ( !) --yum!For our main courses, we ordered a burger and short ribs, both cooked to perfection. It was an excellent experience overall, providing great value for the money spent! I must emphasize again that the portions are very generous. With good food, ample portions, a calming atmosphere, and friendly staff, I give this place is my favourite:)

A perfect pick for a quaint and elegant vegan dining experience with very friendly service. Ladybird offers bold fusion flavors on familiar comfort foods in a setting that is exquisitely decorated (check out their bathroom). My friends and I loved the bao trio, we got two flights so we didn't have to share. Each one is a great complement and contrast offering a zesty buffalo option and savory/creamy filling that bodes well as a handheld. The kale Cesar salad was an unexpected hit, with what tasted like rice cracker croutons and flavorful crispy mushroom bacon, I could've eaten two of these. We also loved the kimchi mac and cheese, so much that it was demolished before anyone could take a picture. It's a harmonious blend of spicy and creamy served with al dente pasta. The corn ribs were also a favorite, definitely on the lighter side, but paired well with everything served. I'd definitely recommend not skipping dessert--both are fantastic in their own right. The cheesecake is a fragrant blend of berries with a burst of brightness from the yuzu. The tres leches is light and creamy with fresh fruit served in a glass. I loved how innovative every bite was and will definitely be visiting their sister restaurants part of this chain. Highly recommend if you are craving a feast for the eyes and tastebuds!

Hit up Balzem on a Thursday night for a 'casual meeting' with a shareholder--fancy talk for food and drinks (emphasis on the food, since I'm strictly a water connoisseur/diet coke). While others may rave about cocktails, I'll just say the water was crisp, cold, and thoroughly hydrating. The food? Tasty, fresh, and perfect for sharing, so everyone gets a bite of everything (whether they want to or not). The staff welcomed us with noticeable friendliness and kept the service on point. Ideal spot for food, friends, and a side of business talk!

All in all, pretty mid. My 2 friends and I went during a weekday after work, and it was pretty busy but we had made a reservation so were seated pretty quickly. The vibes are nice, your typical dim lit nyc tapas place, with pretty plates decorated around the restaurant. The best dish by far was the noodle. It was a mala noodles and it was just the right amount of spicy and delicious. The second best was the corn dumplings -- I thought the sauce pairing with the corn cream was great. The third best was the injeolmi mousse, but I do think it's hard to mess up dessert. For the rest of the dishes, the food was just fine, but the sauce pairings were questionable. We got the steak (which was a bit too rare of our liking), but it was paired with some sort of hummus which we thought was interesting. The yellowtail crudo was paired with some nutty sauce, which honestly overpowered the yellowtail/grapefruit. If I didn't mention the other dishes, it means they were unmemorable. If you just want vibes and need a place to eat it's fine to go, but don't recommended from a food perspective.

"Stopped here by chance with a few friends after seeing a sign on the corner saying there would be cocktails & dreams! I loved the relaxed, inviting atmosphere & the cocktails were divine. Staff was super sweet & the ambiance as a whole was just on point! Cannot wait to have cocktails here again soon!"
"Overall, good food 4.5, good service 5/5. Food is tapas style so portion is small which mean be ready to spend $$$ if you have a big appetite. We ordered 6 dishes and that's more than enough portion for 2 people. For some dishes, the server gave breads before or after we finished our meal for us to soak up the sauces.Below is my ranking. Highly recommended #1-2.1) morros- beef cheek that came recommended by our server. It's so alluring that my phone fell and kissed the food (that's why my picture of the meal looks messy). It's juicy inside (cause beef cheek melt in your mouth), crispy outside with bold flavors. 2) Foie micuit- it's very good too. The foie is pretty standard like other fine dining restaurants but the sauce/jelly stood out for me. My favorite is the violet gelee which is a burst of refreshing citrus (good for palate cleanser as well), followed by the pickled rose.3) special dish suckling pig. This is the most expensive of all ($38) and has the largest meal portion. Some parts are tender but some are kinda overcooked/dry (had to soak the meat with the green sauce to save it). The crispy skin is good but for the price, I'll probably skipped for other dishes.4) txipirones- It's like a pasta but instead of noodle, it consisted of thinly sliced squid with creamy buttery sauce. Best to ask for bread to soak up the sauce.5) pulpo- octopus carpaccio that looks pretty but seemed to be very simple. You can taste the simplicity of the octopus flavor but it can get overwhelming with the olive oil.6) kroketas- it's a solid appetizer but doesn't stand out as much."
"We LOVE Snack Traverna and while there are thousands of restaurants in New York City, we. Will often meet our dearest friends for special occasions at Snack Traverna when we want to impress them with our wisdom at picking a restaurant where everything they serve is absolutely delicious! This evening we invited our friends to celebrate a special birthday. We started with their 4 Dip Sampler ( served with their homemade pita) and their Beet Salad. Then we had their Spinach Triangles and their Zucchini Fritters. We also ordered their phenomenal Haloumi Skewers and their Saganaki! For dessert we shared their delightful chocolate cake and their homemade and awesome rice pudding!"
"I came here on a Friday night after having a craving for Japanese food from watching some shows based in Japan on Netflix that centered around food.Izakaya did not disappoint. The food was delicious . The atmosphere was cozy and home like. The service was attentive. As it was a tapas place, we ordered a variety of different dishes from tofu to sukiyaki to mush room fried rice. All were very tasty. I was also a big fan of the tea pudding. One minor thing to note is that there are actually two other places with the same address as Izakaya, which made it slightly confusing at first."
"Was hoping to come for Restaurant Week that's why I made a reservation but unfortunately they only had it from Monday through Friday which is a bit weird because I thought Sunday brunch were included as well. Anyways, decided to still come anyways but I will say that I'm a bit disappointed about the brunch. I will definitely come back and give it another shot because of the excellent reviews, but definitely for dinner this time.- Chicken Schnitzel - Was not impressed with this dish. The chicken was quite dry and flavorless. Wish they had some sauce for the chicken other than ketchup and mayonnaise which was more for the fries. I will say that the fries was quite good and I appreciated the cucumber/onion salad as well.- Poached Egg Khachapuri - This was definitely my more favorite dish out of the two. I actually really apprecaited the mushroom ragout on top which went well with the bread that was a bit thick and dense. The poached egg melting all over it was heavenly as well.- Complimentary Bread - +1 star for the variety of complimentary breads they had. Although none of them blew me out of the park - they had cornbread, chocolate croissant, and bread rolls - the variety was awesome and they both came with butter and strawberry jam.Overall, not sure if I would come back again for brunch, but definitely for dinner and especially restaurant week."
"Ai Ki Ya in KoreatownI have mixed reviews about the place. Let's start with food.Ordered three dishes:-Tako Yaki-Salmon Avocado Roll-Deep Fried Skewers (Beef, Chicken, Shrimp, Meatball, Sausage)The tako yaki was delightful. The fried octopus filling was not dry and it was crunchy on the outside. Garnishes on the top was a very nice combo to the dish. The roll was pretty good. Each piece was pretty big and filling. As like the other dish, the garnishes really helped pull the dish together. The deep fried skewers... do not get this. You are required to get 5 skewers at minimum to place the order. The menu I had had no picture of the food so i went ahead and ordered what sounded good. My mistake here, the size and flavor. The skewers are just unflavored with the smallest possible bite of food. With how much I paid the total bill, the skewers didn't make the total price worth it. Spend the money on a nice roll or little dish instead, this was a a total waste of like 1/4 of the bill.Generally, the restaurant was quick to attend you considering how small and crowded it was for a Saturday night. Food came pretty quick and had a very nice aesthetic, as well as the restaurant.Would I go back again? Absolutely but not for the deep fried skewers. Other dishes were amazing and looking around there were a lot of good-looking foods I would want to try."
"June is such a nice restaurant! Everything we ordered was delicious! The wine, the salad, the sweet potato hummus, the bread (no butter), the olives. Everyone was so friendly! Our waitress was amazing! Very nice inside and they have fantastic outdoor seating for us covid aware. And their vegan options, though slim, were amazing and substantial! We look forward to our next visit!"
"Get the truffle spring rolls!Get the truffle spring rolls!Omg - so good. Everything we had here was amazing and very unique. The taro fritter has bits of sweet potato and black beans in it giving it multiple yummy textures. The spring rolls were vegetarian, but the mushrooms made it taste like meat and the truffle flavor was divine. The duck was flavorful and juicy. Every single thing was not only delicious, but amazing. I cannot wait to come back here."
"Visited here with my wife in January 2025 during a trip to NYC. The Parlour Room appeared moody with a library-esque vibe to it, something that seemed fun and different from other bars in the area. We were greeted happily and used the complimentary coat check upon entry and were given a numbered tag to receive our coats after the meal. Seated almost immediately as we had a reservation booked. The host/manager was very friendly upon entry. We were seated very quickly and had a quick gander at the menu before ordering. I ordered a Parlour Room burger with fries and my wife ordered the Caesar salad with salmon. We got an order of warmed crab dip to share. I also ordered a cocktail and my wife ordered a Riesling. While ordering was quick, my wife and I both noticed that our waitress did not seem friendly or warm by any means, as she was somewhat short with her answers. Not quite rude, but it was quite obvious she would have rather been anywhere else tonight. Nonetheless, we ordered and enjoyed the scenery and conversation. The crab dip came out quickly and was very good! It's no Pappadeaux crab dip, but it certainly tried its best and was more than enjoyable. 8/10 on the dip. My wife's Caesar salad and salmon were brought alongside the crab dip. She said it was pretty good, not better than Keen's down the street, but respectable for the price point. Unfortunately, my food did not come out alongside her own food. I waited probably about 45 minutes, ordering another drink, finishing that one, and waiting for my wife to finish her own meal before I had enough and asked the manager for an update on my entree. He ran off to investigate. He returned roughly 5-10 minutes later and shared with me that our waitress had forgot to enter in my entree to the POS system and added it later on after eventually remembering to do so, resulting it to be scheduled to be brought out after another party of 14 dining at The Parlour Room. Hence, the wait. He profusely apologized for the mixup, stated the order would be brought out ASAP, and even offered a complimentary dessert as an apology, which we accepted. We got Creme Brûlée, which was quite delicious! Better than Keens' crème brûlée down the street. Also, the burger was aight, but the French fries were honestly some of my favorite that I've ever had. Very crispy and crunchy on the outside, but not soggy, overcooked, or over/under-seasoned. I did not see our waitress around the restaurant at all after the mixup. Overall, good food, great drinks, moody and mysterious vibes, and great management. This place is worth trying out if only to experience the setting while enjoying a few cocktails or whiskey tastings. 4/5."
"Small, busy space in a typical basement restaurant of an old pre-war walkup.Service was excellent here! Sat at the bar and the waitress asked if it was my first time there. Must have been written on my forehead, rightfully so. Told her it was and asked her to just bring me some of their best items. She asked how hungry I was so she could bring me the right amount. Three cocktails, numerous delicious small bites, and other treats later I was very content.Worth the price of admission."
"We had anniversary dinner here and it was amazing. We love the quiet atmosphere and good food. Our drinks was so good too! It was the best Peach Mojito I've had. The staff were so friendly and nice. Would love to come back again."
"I was strolling through Williamsburg with friends after leaving Domino Park, looking for a place to have a few drinks. We nearly bypassed Mekelburg's because it's designed like a grocery store at the entrance. We made our way inside and that's where the good times were. Mekelburg's is speakeasy-ish, (to me at least). The front gives cute organic grocery store. I really didn't expect the cool bar and vibes situation that we ended up getting into once we walked further inside. Servers and bartenders here are super cool and laid back. There was five of us. We were told to seat ourselves. Cool. After finding cozy, corner seats we ordered Frosé's. They were frosty and delish with a nice, lemony twang. I ordered fried mozzarella sticks. They were crispy brown, gooey and sprinkled with shaved mozzarella on top. Tasty. The music was early to mid 00's hip hop and the vibes were just wonderful. On the way out, a very cool young man floated-like literally floated towards us with a cake platter stacked with delicious, house made pastries. Some were sweet and some were savory, a complimentary treat. In my tipsy state, I swiped a pastry that looked like a cheese Danish. It was warm and flaky outside, filled with smooth gouda cheese and topped with thin sliced tomatoes. Those baked goodies were an unexpected treat. Meckelburg's was a marvelous way to end a night out in Brooklyn. I'll be going back for sure."
"At first when I ordered the braised beef noodles, I was disappointed to learn it was not in soup. However, that feeling faded away as I took my first bites. The noodles are perfectly chewy and moist and thick. The meat is tender and flavorful. The noodles, although not in soup, contain liquid in them which gives the feeling of soup. The flavors all meshed beautifully together and I was in good heaven! I can see why they're one of the best restaurants in DUMBO. If I make the trip back, will definitely hit up this place again."
"I have a thing for lush dark spaces, especially sipping glasses of bubbly in lush, dark spaces. Especially sipping glasses of bubbly in lush, dark spaces by a front window so that I may look out on the rainy winter evening in Brooklyn. How sweet it is at The Binc.I met a few friends here later in the evening on one such occasion and really enjoyed the environs and my glass of sparkles. The vibe is dark and intimate, as you may have gathered by now, and it wasn't super packed nor loud. I can see that this would also be perfect for a date night.I did not try the food but on my way to the (very nice) restrooms, I made a wrong turn into the adjoining restaurant and was super impressed by the decor. I'd definitely come back to check 'em out if there are vegan options."
"Led by the team behind Antidote, Nemesis is a trendy upscale restaurant weaving Southeast Asian culinary styles. It spotlights traditional dishes from Thailand, Malaysia, Singapore, and Indonesia with a modern twist. Their food and drinks were so delicious that I wanted to give a star to everything I got. Attentive service and sophisticated atmosphere. This could be a great choice to bring a friend visiting NYC to enjoy a multicultural dining experience. *Grilled Iberico Pork Belly $23 *The pork belly was flame-grilled and well-marinated. Every bite was juicy and bursting with a savory, tangy flavors. The edges were slightly charred which gave some smoky aroma. It had a good meat-to-fat ratio so it wasn't greasy at all. *Heritage Chicken Satay $16We were pleasantly surprised to see chicken satay in meatball shape. It was so flavorful with the peanut butter satay sauce. The cucumber, red onion and cherry tomato made it more refreshing as a starter. *Crying Angus Steak $39 ***We were so OBSESSED with this crying angus steak!! The angus ribeye were marinated in thai sauce and chimichurri. Each piece were cooked perfectly to medium rare and thinly sliced. 10oz was A LOT and my Asian instinct told me it would be great with jasmine rice. The mixed roasted fingerling potatoes and sweet tomatoes on the side were aromatic and very enjoyable. *Tom Yum Seafood Fried Rice $35 *We got their most viral bone marrow tom yum fried rice. The bone marrow was melt-in-your-mouth fatty. It was 100% insta-worthy though the bone marrow didn't really add much flavor to the dish. The scallops were cooked to absolute perfection and the prawns were very bouncy. Wish it could be a tad spicier. *Lychee V $10 **Sky High $19Worth to mention they have an impressive selection of cocktail and wine menu. The aesthetics and Asian-inspired flavors are spot-on. Sky High waz a picture-perfect cocktail with cotton candy, with a base of rum, pineapple, lychee, lemon and four season tea. It didn't taste too alcoholic so it was right up my lane. While Lychee V was a mocktail with lychee, oolong tea, jasmine tea syrup, yuzu, lime and tonic. Loved the tea flavors and it wasn't too sweet."
"I came yesterday for dinner with 4 friends. We ordered 5 dishes to share. I really liked the babaganoush and another dish that had curry. The rest were average. There was a dish that had grilled shrimps that tasted amazing but the lamb sausage was was too strong for me. The service was slow but really friendly and patient which is great for covid times. We had a couple of beautiful Moroccan tables on the side walk. The street has a lot of cars and ambulances passing by but not a lot of people walking so that's good. In terms of drinks, we all agreed that none of the alcoholic drinks that had mint really tasted minty. My mango mojito didn't taste like a mojito at all. It was like mango juice with rum and a few mint leaves. So I would improve the drinks. We shared baklava for dessert which was delicious but a bit oily. We ended up spending around $30 per person which I think is pretty good for NYC. It was a nice experience."
"Looking for lunch and found this tiny cozy spot. It was sunday and they served brunch. Had a nice oyster special! Turned out to be really nice. The prices were reasonable, but the dishes were small as well. Service was good. The only "down side" to the place would be the tables are small so it doesn't have room for all the plates, cups and utensils. Would come back."
"The place is nice and comfortable. It has a modern look. The service is ok. The staff know the food and they are attentive. The food is "ok". Perhaps I am picky because I know Spanish food. I know some of the dishes are just canned even though they could actually make them by themselves (as they do in most spanish bars). I thought the chistos would actually be the sausage, but it's more like little hotdogs! The best dishes: the octopus is good (I wonder if they buy the octopus raw and cook there - I didn't ask). The patatas bravas were good. The shrimp were good. The cauliflower was tasty but it was not really a Spanish dish. I've stayed away from Spanish food in NYC so I can't compare but it is inferior to at least most bars in Spain."
"Hate to give away my secret places...Buddy had branzino, fantastico...I had salmon...even better...tried a side of gnocchi...incredible.Had Sospca salad to start (not pictured) highly recommended. My spicy margarita was amazing and loved the sancere by the glass...This is my gift to you...just dont ask for my table!"
"My wife and I had our weddings after party here. We really wanted somewhere that was in our neighborhood that we frequently went to. The Elder Greene crew crushed it! They handled the massive amount of guests perfectly, no one waited long for a drink, all the cocktails were delicious, all the food came out quickly and we had a great time. 10/10 recommend!"
"This has become my go to restaurant when I am in beautiful Carrol Gardens neighborhood. When I was at this restaurant this past week I enjoyed the delish grilled salmon perfectly done medium the skin added a crispy texture. It was complement with sauté garlic spinach, potatoes and a green purée blending beautifully with salmon. My hubby had French toast he said the dish excellent. The French toast was created baked brioche, bananas, mixed berries, mascarpone cream. My hubby communicate this was a terrific combo with perfect sweet flavors."
"My boyfriend and I stopped here completely by accident- we were trying to go to a place a couple doors down, however, they were closed temporarily for a private event at the bar. With a little disappointment, we decided to walk down the street to find somewhere else to get the drinks we wanted so badly. This is when we stumbled across Aura Bar & Kitchen. The bar is small, and it was pretty busy considering it was a Saturday evening! A man (the owner) named Jesse immediately greeted us and coaxed us to two seats at the very end of the bar and made us feel extremely welcome at his establishment. To get to the main part of the review, we started off our time there with the Toscana Bruschetta and a couple of drinks. I ordered the Seratonin cocktail (even though I usually don't enjoy blue curacao) and my boyfriend ordered his go-to, an Old Fashioned. Toscana Bruschetta: Delicious and refreshing appetizer that did not disappoint whatsoever. It was the perfect size for the two of us and the flavours worked very well together to create the perfect bruschetta that made my palette sing. 10/10 recommend this appetizer to anyone that enjoys bruschetta!Seratonin Cocktail: Beautifully done drink with a gorgeous blue-green hue that tastes as good as it sounds. Despite there being two ingredients I don't tend to care for (blue curacao and tequila) I can genuinely say that I loved this drink as a starter to the evening and didn't even notice the things I don't like, that's how pleasant the cocktail is. Old Fashioned: Crafted using Four Roses Bourbon as the well, my boyfriend is notoriously picky about his Old Fashioned drinks and said that this bar makes the best one he has ever tasted in his life. You can tell that Frankie (the bartender) really knows what he's doing with this drink (and all of the drinks that he crafts). After that rockstar start to our journey, we ordered the Fried Calamari and two more drinks. I got the Purple Dream and my boyfriend got the Espresso Martini. Fried Calamari: Calamari is one dish that is always hit or miss at restaurants I've noticed. Luckily, Aura is one of the places that absolutely does not miss and knocked the poor calamari into orbit. It was crisp, fresh, not too oily, and the tzatziki we ordered rather than the marinara sauce (in Canada we commonly serve calamari with tzatziki and NOT marinara) was phenomenal. The tzatziki tasted like it had just been made within the past ten minutes, and not like it had been pre-made hours before and then served at a later point. Espresso Martini: By far the smoothest espresso martini I've had the pleasure of trying. We watched them prepare the espresso shots right from our seats so we know it was not JUST a coffee liquor used in the cocktail as a lot of other bars and restaurants will do (a cheap parlour trick on other bars if you ask me). Purple Dream: My favourite drink I've ever tasted in the 25 years I've been alive. Let me tell you, this drink is absolutely dangerous. It's smooth, it's delicious, it's refreshing, it's fruity, and it's subtly strong and that's the recipe for getting me way too wasted in one evening. The drink is served with a skewer of fresh blueberries which I loved eating once the drink was (sadly) finished. I was already very drunk after my two drinks (fuck being short and having a very low tolerance for alcoholic beverages!) so I didn't get any other ones, but my boyfriend got a third drink called The Luna. Throughout the evening, Jesse also provided us with these delicious black pita chips that were flaky and tasted amazing when dipped in the tzatziki we'd gotten with the calamari. The Luna: My boyfriend can't remember but he did love it! I don't recall trying this one, however, it came from Frankie and Aura so I'm going to go ahead and recommend it anyways! :) Jesse took great time and pride in speaking to us throughout the evening and truly made us feel like family and friends while we drank and ate at his business throughout the evening. A lot of time, love and care has clearly gone into this business. Jesse uses top of the line products not only in his drinks and food, but the environment in general is well thought out and executed. He uses high quality decor, and I know this is going to sound silly but I was even impressed that in the bathroom he uses the Simply Human brand of trashcan. It's all about the details, okay?To wrap this up for people that don't like to read novel length reviews...Drinks: Phenomenal and out of this world delicious. Fairly priced as well considering everywhere in NYC is insanely priced for, in my opinion, cheap tasting, shitty drinks that don't even taste good.Food: Scrumptious and had me craving more and more. Also very fairly priced and high, high quality. We will for sure be back the next time we visit the Big Apple and highly recommend this restaurant and bar to anyone that has never been; you will NOT be disappointed with your visit here, guaranteed."
"Love it! Park slope finally has decent homemade authentic Chinese food! The noodle and dim sum dishes brought back childhood memories for me. They may not be fancy but taste homemade. We had mala cucumber salad, Sichuan Ban Mein, crab and pork dumpling and coconut curry noodle. I thought all were very good and flavorful except for curry noodle which needs more salt. Daoxiao ("knife shaved") noodle is a specialty of the Shanxi province. It is thicker and chewer in middle and thinner on the sides. I love the texture. Order is easy - you scan the code on table and order via your phone. I wish they allow you checkout on the app too. Anyways, will definitely go back."
