"We walked thinking we would be able to see the city from an "overlook". We were told the "overlook" was closed until 5pm.We decided to sit at the bar and have the Pommes Frites and a beer. The beer was cold and our bartender was a delight and friendly. My daughter and he conversed sports and the recent trade of "our" Freddie Freeman to the Dodgers. Before we left, he allowed us to go up to the "overlook" which is not an overlook but an outside patio with no view. Haha- the joke was on us, but the name did get us to walk 3 miles to visit. We enjoyed ourselves despite the disappointment of a view."
"Okay so this is literally one of my favorite "Hangout after work" bars but this time I took my Adorkable guy with me for the first time ever. And as usual it didn't disappoint. Let's talk about it!Atmosphere! So this has like a divebar feel to it which I dig. When you walk in by the entrance there's like a couch you can chill on. When you reach the very back they have a projector that comes down so the customers can watch sports. There's pretty plates on the walls and some mirrors. I love how lively the place gets it's always a good time with good people. The bathroom is spacious and always clean every time I come as well so that's a plus for me! LolOkay food time ^_^Dranksss!My adorkable doesn't drink so he had a ginger ale. But I ended up getting a **Raspberry Margarita** which is not on the menu only because I asked if there was any flavors I can add to my margarita and they said we have raspberry and I said sure let's go for it lol. It was pretty good! Appetizers!Ground Beef Nachos:: So If you read any of my other reviews you already know that my bf and I loveee Nachos! I did want to bring some variety to this review so I ordered a second appetizer lol. He literally rated the Nachos 3 out 5 and I have to agree it wasn't bad by any means but the meat only had a little bit of seasoning. The texture was off because the ground beef was kind of dry not really juicy. There wasn't enough cheese it was kind of hiding on the bottom meaning once you're halfway through the food that's when you start tasting the cheese sauce. The chips were a little stale so overall the dish was mediocre. A way to combat this is well you can let them know if more seasoning is needed or if there's not enough cheese tell them that's an important part of Nachos! Lol Warm Spinach Dip:: I usually get this every time I come because it's so delicious. And it didn't disappoint! Cheese yummy goodness with spinach? You literally can't go wrong! My chips were kind of stale as well but the dip made up for the taste of the chips so I was a happy camper! LolEntrées! (It gets better just hold on lol)Chicken quesadilla:: it was really good the chicken was juicy and the cheese was monetary jack and cheddar so I was in heaven lol. The Housemade Guacamole was soooo fresh and delicious! Fish & Chips:: This was a Chantel Showstopper! Once again my bf gets a dish I love more than mine lol. The fish was surprisingly huge it was succulent moist and it literally melts in your mouth. The fries were like a 3/5 because it just wasn't salty enough to our liking lolOverall I'm still going to come back because there's so many different things on the menu to try and try again! For example one time when I came with my coworkers we had their wings and calamari and they were so good. I'll update my review when I come here next time and try other things but seriously guys come for the fish and chips because that fish was amazing! Until next time happy eating ^_^"
"Great new addition to the neighborhood! Highly recommend stopping in for bottomless brunch on the weekends. If you're a party of 4 or more you can even get the mimosa tower. The pancakes were fluffy and delish as well as the French toast and eggs Benedict. The owner and staff are all so friendly. Go now before it gets crazy busy!"
"Get the baby pepperoni Sicilian absolute perfection.Cheaper prices for cash payment. Quick service, and lotsssss of choices."
"This reliable neighborhood bar should really clean up more given the lack of sports bars in the area. It's a breath of resh air and relief with jerseys and banners hanging on walls, plenty of space, and TVs lining the bar. I imagine it gets busy on Saturday and Sunday afternoons, but it was a perfectly civilized place to throw back a few beers and watch baseball. The food is expected pub grub, plenty of hearty favorites. Stick with the standards and you'll be satisfied."
"Mustang Harry's is the perfect spot to hit up before a Knicks game at MSG. It's an easy walk to the arena, making it super convenient. The food was good - a bit pricey, but that's to be expected in Midtown, and it's still half the price of what you'd pay for food and drinks inside MSG. It's a smart decision not have a happy hour here because $ is basically guaranteed before any MSG event...but quality of food sure goes down with the amount of customers...Great atmosphere and a solid choice for pre-game eats."
"It sounds like an incredible journey into the past, where you can feel the atmosphere of the late 70s and 80s and reunite with familiar faces. Those times are likely associated with a unique style of communication and culture, especially in the context of early Jewish immigration. Such places offer the chance not only to dive into nostalgia but also to enjoy the authentic vibe of that era. Great food and very friendly service by the way..."
"Divy sports bar that offer $25 bottomless mimosa that was unfortunately too sweet, the chicken sandwich needed seasoning. Service was decent."
"This used to be another spot, The Swan moved in and did the remix. This is a friendly after work spot located in Bed-Stuy. TV's are everywhere, it was soccer on tonight and the bar was going wild. The drinks are top shelf and flowing, the prices are affordable, and this bartender will mix whatever you desire. I was invited here for after work drinks and The Swan did not disappoint. The service is friendly, the bartender is attentive, and there's a wonderful seating area in the back yard if the bar scene is not for you. I had Espolòn Tequila and pineapple juice which was s tasty and not too sweet. The shots of Espolòn Tequila made my night. I like my wings HOT. The hot wings with cayenne based sauce and ranch were definitely worth the trip.Come out and enjoy the casual atmosphere on any night, seating also available out front. The after work prices are available on Saturdays and wait for it... they have alcoholic smoothies (did I say that correctly?)Come thru support local business."
"Fun little dive bar located on Koreatown. Located on the 4th floor, you entered this energetic, grungy bar. Great drink deals and bunch of point tables. Note you need to get 2 pitchers of beer/seltzer to play pong. Great place for a pre/post game. Step by if you're in the area or if you're waiting for reservations. Great staff as well."
"This place is a gem! It's a standard pub, but plenty of space inside and on the patio. YES it has precious Patio seating! There's speakers outside so you can still have music or play the pub games. It's also a great location it just down 30th so it's quieter than all the craziness on 7th. Plenty of TVs for sports. There's Mixtape Bingo every Tuesday. Surprised me the vegan chicken I had and is the best! Crispy and delicious! Staff is super friendly (we love Savannah!) and drinks are well made. The Vesper martini is strong and not too sweet."
"Came for a quick bite and drink. Lots of games were played, the place was decently quiet until certain games were on and the crowd grew louder and larger. Service was great! Waitress was friendly and informative on alcoholic beverages and food choices. Definitely returning again!"

Let me tell you something right now. This spot? This spot right here? It's GREAT. I'm talking about the vibes being immaculate--super chill. Now, listen, I got a friend who lives right across the street, so you already know it's convenient. Game days? We're all set. When the crew wants to link up, this place makes it EASY. But let me break it down for you.First time I came here? My parents were in town. We're trying to watch the Michigan football game--but not at a Michigan bar. Why? Because those bars? MADNESS. You can't even hear yourself think, let alone have a moment with your family. So we needed a chill spot, somewhere my friends could roll through, grab a drink, meet my parents, and just vibe. And this place? Was IT.It was a noon game, so they had just opened when we got there. We grabbed a booth and an extra table in the back. And let me tell you--those booths? SICK. Each one has its own TV. I'm talking about the pinnacle of convenience here. There's an upstairs too, but I haven't explored that yet, so no comment there. One thing though--ladies, watch out for that slippery bathroom floor. That's all I'm saying. Now, let's talk about the dollar beers. Wednesday evenings. ONE DOLLAR BEERS. But here's the catch: there's a $20 card minimum. My friend? He didn't know. Tried to put a couple beers on his card. Rookie move. But shoutout to the bartender--cool as a cucumber--he did a shot with my friend to help him hit the $20. That's what I call hospitality. This place, man. It's got everything you need for a good time without the chaos. Nothing too special, but a good neighborhood option.

Ok. I'm a pretty casual person. I just have to say the corned beef and Swiss on rye with sweet potato fries I had last night was a spiritual experience. Absolutely glorious!Barry & Red make everyone feel welcome. Russian/thousand Island on the corned beef, honey mustard on the sweet potato fries, my long day at work was relieved by this local pit-stop. Really friendly employees as well as customers. What a neighborhood gem! Also you KNOW I love my girl Debra the early evening bartender who knows everyone's name and what everyone drinks.

Great spot for Sicilian Pizza! I came on a Sunday afternoon and it wasn't crowded at all. They had just brought a lot of the pizzas out too. I got my food quickly, and sat down at one of the few tables in the pizzeria. I think they have more seats in the back, connected to the restaurant. The walls were lined with baseball memorabilia. I ordered several slices: * Pepperoni and Vodka Sicilian Slice - 9/10 - This was my favorite slice. The pepperoni got really crispy in the oven and the crust was fluffy in the middle and crunchy on the bottom. My only gripe is that it was pretty greasy. * Tricolor Grandma Slice - 8.5/10 - The three sauces, pesto, vodka, and tomato, tasted fresh and homemade. The grandma style crust is thinner than the Sicilian, but I prefer the fluffiness of the Sicilian. * Barbecue Chicken Sicilian Slice - 7.5/10 - I liked the crust and chicken, but the particular barbecue sauce they used had a weird aftertaste. * Chicken Parmesan Sandwich on a Garlic Knot - 7.5/10 - I like the idea of this sandwich, but the execution could use some improvement. The garlic knot wasn't crispy enough and was too greasy. The mozzarella cheese on the sandwich wasn't melted either. Overall, I would come again if I'm in the neighborhood and wanted a quick bite. It's not the cheapest pizza, but I think it's worth the price.

One of the only Manhattan-Style Irish bars in the area, with your typical Irish pub & grille type menu, complete with a terrific steak sandwich!! I find that all my fave steak sandwiches are from Irish joints. The menu had lots of appealing choice, but I went with the "can't-go-wrong" O'Keefes Steak sandwich: ribeye cooked to preferred temperature, mozz, sautéed onions, peppers, shrooms. All on garlic hero. Delish! As was the French onion soup! Even the leftover soup part, ha! At many places the broth is bland and left behind once the bread and cheese is gone, but this onion soup was actually really tasty-so much that we were both dipping our sandwiches in it! My husband got a pulled pork grilled cheese on special. He liked it. I'm not really into Smokey-bbq flavor, or bbq sauce, so not necessarily my pick, but I tasted it and could see people loving it!

On December 5th, 2024, I enjoyed a delightful lunch at Mustang Harry's with a dear friend who visited from Washington, D.C. We celebrated with a girls' day out, attending the Sherri Show and having a lovely brunch afterward. The service was exceptional, particularly from our greeter, Carlos, who provided wonderful recommendations. I ordered their signature Mustang wings, and my friend had the Mustang burger with fries. We enjoyed a pleasant meal and conversation. I paid the bill, and my friend left a cash tip. However, on December 7th, 2024, at 5:58 AM, I received notifications indicating an unauthorized $5.00 tip had been added to my Cashapp card, resulting in a negative balance. I typically only load funds onto this card as needed for immediate withdrawals. I am quite perplexed and disappointed by this unexpected and unwelcome addition to my bill, especially given the otherwise wonderful experience. The food was delicious, and the atmosphere was festive. I am very disappointed.

Dive bar with mediocre food - eggs Benedict salmon was a bit too overcooked and smelled too fishy. The fish and chips was also too bready, I think it's more to grab a drink than for a sit down meal

"A clean Irish pub across the street from Penn station.Walked by and peeked in and said this will do.So we just wanted a quick bite to kill a little time before the train showed up.Plenty wide screens around the the bar and the other side of the tables.Settled in for a Rueben sandwich and fries. The Rueben was good and the fries came out hot and crispy. It was a good choice."
"Started off great with some beautiful aged manchego. On a cold day a nice cup of tea felt like a must buy. I always appreciate when it's served in a personal tea pot. Our waitress was very kind and went over whatever questions we had about the menu, but once the meals were served it was challenging to get her attention. The place was a bit understaffed for Sunday brunch. I'd probably enjoy this more at a less busy time. The huevos fritos con pisto manchego was a great meal for $13. There was a sweetness in the tomatoes that can't be matched. I'd recommend getting this and the manchego. Also ask what a Spanish omelet is before ordering, you may be surprised, as my friend was. This is a perfect place to go if you are seeing a show at The Shed or shopping at Hudson Yards. I'm looking forward to seeing what's next for Mercado post renovations."
"American Whiskey, woohoo! I never knew there were so many bourbon and whiskeys in one venue. I swear they have like 28 different brands of Rye. The food is definitely slept on here - the panko crusted chicken tenders are probably the best I've had in NYC because they're extra extra extra crunchy. They totally perfected that crunch factor while keeping the meat piping hot and moist in my opinion. Idk what the dipping sauce was but it was super sweet and spicy and automatically comes with it. Get those tenders on top of their kale Caesar and order the specialty cocktail called "Strike Me Dead" and you are SET! I get this exact combination every time but need to deviate soon and try new things. There's also a huge upstairs "loft" area with another bar. Private parties probably? Really cool to watch the Rangers game at or like myself I go prior to pregame before hitting up Madison Square Garden since this place is only 1 block away."
"Really cool pub in Midtown. We went in the middle of the day so didn't have any issues with service like some of the reviews I see here. They were attentive and fast, and they have an inspired menu. There were many more things I would've loved to try, but we got the Romanian mici sliders, which were amazing, and the Hungarian langos, which I enjoyed at first but then it got to be too much. A little too doughy and cheesy, if that's possible. Maybe if they used the same amount of dough and cheese but made two slightly thinner ones instead, it would be more balanced. Still, better than your traditional pub fare. What left me stumped was the beer selection. If you walk into a self-described gastropub in the west coast you're greeted by so much variety, ambers, stouts, saisons, etc, that you end up with decision paralysis... but in a good way (?). Not so much here."
"Beer list w NO PRICES......BIG TURNOFF for meWife had $16. Martini Be Aware....check comes w20% gratuity already added !!Atmosphere 5 out of 10Won't be back........too many better places"
"While I won't be back to this restaurant, I could see the appeal for individuals who live in the area. It has a very cheers, neighborhood, regulars drop-in type of vibe. Perhaps if I lived nearby and had time to figure out the best items to order off on the menu for myself, I would have a different and more forgiving view. Service was attentive. They were also responsive to my concerns. Staff was pleasant and the overall ambiance was Winter themed and very festive. I enjoyed the service. The drinks were very good. They had a good selection of cocktails and beer. The onion soup was absolutely delicious. I really enjoyed it. So was the penne pasta with shrimp. That was also very enjoyable. What really hurt the evening was the pulled pork sandwich. The fries on the side were very good but the sandwich itself was inedible. Quite frankly it tasted as if the pork was overdone and old. I was really disappointed because the description with the Jack Daniels sauce had me excited. The sauce was fine... If a little thin.... But the meat was giving an underlying taste that was not pleasant. I was just going to leave it but the bartender was very accommodating and came over to ask if everything was okay. He addressed the issue with the sandwich immediately. Overall, great space and service. Food was on both ends of the spectrum during my experience- really good or really bad."
"Not a large selection of food but what they offer they do well. Bar feel with tacos and donuts. Don't skip the donuts! My family got them twice when we stayed at the Hilton next door. Service was very friendly, owner was lovely and you can feel like a regular if you visit more than once. The negative is the interior is pretty dark and my old eyes required my flashlight to read menu."
"We had drinks here from the recommendation of the concierge at the Intercontinental Hotel. We had gone to two different bars in the area but were all crowded. The hostess was the nicest at the Brazen Tavern. Even though the bar was packed, they let us stand up and enjoy our cocktails. The bartender was also super nice."
"Food: surprisingly satisfying Service: cordialDecor/ uninspired pubbishCiao BraviReggazi- you are missed.Putnam Armory is sports bar meets unvarnished public house. The space is giving 'cave'. Their electricity bill is high from the preponderance of tellies, not from using the lights. Looks like they copped furniture from a defunct resto sample sale and opened turnkey. Maybe because they spent coin on competent kitchen talent:Slightly above mediocre for flavour and consistency. Service is swift with volume during peak hours, as in, fifa football and the like. Great for plate sharing and groups. Skip the nachos- it needs a rework and your blood pressure will thank you. The bearish, bearded barman in particular is sunshine in service. The atmosphere is pleasant and inviting. During tournaments there's usually children, so feels like a neighbourhood spot."
"Went last Sunday to watch football! The nachos were HUGEEEE and delicious. Was not a huge fan of the buffalo boneless wings, they were a little dry. Loved the ambience, I would go back to watch any kind of sports."
"This is my favorite sports bar in the area. ELEVEN TV cramped into a single room space. Fair prices. Super attentive staff. Great selection of beverages and snacks. Even greater selection of board games along the back wall if sports are just not your jam. Outdoor seating is also available, for which a tv often times gets brought out.You won't find yourself eating healthy here, but who goes to a bar for a salad, amiright? I am actually quite fond of the steak and bell pepper spring rolls, which are huge and satisfying. I actually find myself craving these from time to time, which I can't say about many bar menu items elsewhere. My recent Union Grounds discovery is their Trivia Night on Tuesdays at 8pm. My team is embarrassingly terrible and came in dead last place to no one's surprise, but it was still a fun way to end a Tuesday. Don't snooze on the $10 frozen spicy margs and $3 chicken taco specials. With yet another football season quickly approaching, I am definitely looking forward to hanging out at Union Grounds way too often for way too long. Go Jags!"
"My friends and I came here on a weeknight for happy hour. The drinks and food off the happy hour menu were delicious! The bartender as well as the owner were so attentive and great. We will definitely be coming back again."
"Went here after reading some reviews. Pretty standard NYC bar but I was there for the District burger. It did NOT disappoint. Juicy and absolutely delicious. I would walk there again just for that burger. Exactly what I wanted."
"Stopped here for lunch during Christmas and New Year's. It was really busy but we were able to find 2 seats at the bar. There was only one member of staff working but she did a great job of serving so many people. We ordered the fish and chips, chicken club and a side of curry sauce. The food was delivered pretty quickly and everything tasted good. The curry sauce was slightly sweeter/fruitier than we are used to but it wasn't a bad version of UK curry sauce. There were a couple of football (soccer) games on and the bar was really buzzing on a Monday afternoon. A really fun spot to watch some sport and have some good pub food. We live locally and will definitely visit again."
"There aren't many Ecuadorian places in NYC, so what a treat to have this spot fairly close by! It feels cozy but has a good amount of seating, with a bustling sports bar vibe, especially at night.I first came during lunch and got the combo with encebollado and chaulafan. Although I'm waiting for more of my favorite Ecuadorian dishes to make their way to NYC (black clam ceviche anyone?) I'm glad they do the encebollado justice here. It comes with lime slices and plantain chips, so squeeze that lime, crumble the chips, and mix everything around. I loved the rich, comforting flavors of the soup with the umami flavor of the albacore tuna, streaked through with the brightness of lime juice. I'm not even an onion fan but I've been converted for just this one dish. The fried rice was perfectly fine, but the encebollado's where it's at.The second time around, I had to take advantage of the happy hour. The saucy, spicy wings ($1 on Monday nights) and Ecuadorian hot dog with green sauce, pickled aioli, and crushed chips are fantastic. The pork seco patacones are flavorful, and you also can't go wrong with the mini salchipapas. Separate from the HH menu, don't sleep on the chuzos, which they're known for. I got the combo with chicken, steak, and chorizo. Each of the grilled meats was super juicy (my favorite was the steak) with a hint of smokiness, and went well with the green sauce and spicy pickled veggies.I'd also recommend getting the Manzana soda. It's refreshing, not too bubbly or sweet, and really tastes like fresh, ripe apples.Rest assured I'll be back, either for more of their wings, encebollado, or new dishes like the llapingachos and rotisserie chicken."
"Had a great dinner experience here last night, a Saturday. We had burgers (Gaelic and Barbecue) which were perfectly cooked and large, with delicious ingredients. Our waitress was friendly and efficient. The place is lively, with games on screens all around the front room where we were seated, but it wasn't too loud to have conversation. We were able to substitute simple iceberg salads for fries (which looked great but we are trying to control ourselves). Prices are reasonable. Highly recommend if you're looking for a pub."
"We got to Barking Dog right before brunch ended but waited on a friend and ended up staying until dinner. Despite just having drinks for a while, the service was super friendly, and we never felt rushed or like an inconvenience. When we finally ordered, the arancini and calamari were good, and the steak was cooked just right. Cozy vibes, great food, and a laid-back atmosphere--definitely coming back to actually try brunch next time!"
"A true hidden gem because this place has a neighborhood bar kinda vibe but food is not supposed to taste as amazing as Foxy John's! I am still waiting for something on their menu to not like. Bang bang shrimp? SLAPS! Specially if you get it with the California Cobb! Boom you just tried two of their items. Also the flat iron steak and fries? DELICIOUS! Steak was cooked perfect and fries perfectly seasoned! General Tao's and white rice on the side and boom you have a full meal! Also when I do have drinks there the margaritas and drinks they make are always strong! Best neighborhood place to eat and drink for me!"
"Had a great experience here last night. The wings here were superb, I personally enjoy them well done and they did a fantastic job delivering on the request. Would definitely recommend the wings, the espresso martini ok also."
"The food was amazing! My sis and I shared the calamari and mozzarella sticks and both we're great! I had the Caesar salad with chicken and my sister had the Mushroom Swiss burger with fries and everything was great! The second time we visited I got the messy burger (with my own substitutions) and she got the same burger because she enjoyed it so much! The service and ambiance was amazing; everyone was nice and accommodating. I'm a tourist of NYC but I'm coming back in April and they will see me!"
"Been here once, a kosher restaurant that doesn't feel like a kosher restaurant, not too expensive, laid-back, doesn't feel stuffy, doctrinaire. I have to eat kosher, but you'd like it even if you didn't have to."
"Haswell Green's Bar & Restaurant 240 west 52nd st, NY. (212)245-2801Open from 4pm-3amFrank Quatela 100th Annual Halloween Party on Oct 26th 2024. OMG this is absolutely gorgeous space. Extremely spacious having 2 levels. The decor is perfectly designed with separate area having different themes. So beautiful. The handsome and very well dressed in a lovely suit doorman, the guy that was checking the name of the list in a Halloween costume both remembered me from the Halloween party last year that Frank Quatela did. I felt extra special. Who could forget a 6ft tall unique looking lady with long blonde hair with a extraordinary happy and energetic personality and amazing dancers. Lol. Both bartenders also in costume were amazing and fun and were so friendly. Also in Halloween costume. Everyone were all very friendly and definitely in fun spirits. Very pleasant personality indeed. The space can we booked for special events which is exactly what my friend Frank Quatela did. Having drinks specials all night and a DJ for the entire event. I danced to around 3am in the morning. The music was amazing. Great music played all night. I danced everywhere even on the booth and ledge behind the booths. Definitely and amazing night to be remembered. Thank you for everything."
"This is your standard multi-level Irish pub that you'll see in midtown/hells kitchen. We stopped in to grab a pre-show bite and to watch a soccer match. We sat on the ground level and ordered a few beers and some plates. The chicken curry with rice was pretty decent. Rice was a touch undercooked but the curry flavor was excellent, and I appreciated the generous portion, ample veggies and the fries on top. The flatbread special with salami was just ok. Not a flabread, but a more doughy mini pizza that reminded me of frozen pies from the grocery. Beer was good and the service was friendly and excellent. I'd say it's a decent choice for a casual stop for the midtown/times square area.Got bit up by mozzies while there, though I suppose it wasn't their fault."
