"I've been seeing this Resturant pop up on IG all the time and just so happen I was in the area and dropped in. The ambiance is very causal, take out or sit down. (Get your order and sit down ) The food was great! Fresh and delicious. I tried the fried chicken, Mac and cheese, cornbread and the twang drink. All very good. Service was decent. I'd certainly come back to try the fish and some additional sides."
"I'd rate Bird Dog four and a half stars. We snuck into Bird Dog on a Saturday night just in time for the early bird special. Fortunately, we were able to score two seats at their three person bar counter. Sitting at the bar, I immediately noticed some nice options for wines by the glass. They have an approachable yet intriguing list of wines by the bottle too.Bird Dog is a unique fusion of Southern American and Italian cuisines. My wife was set on the pastas for entrees, so I figured we'd give the southern portion a shot for appetizer. We shared the hush puppies. They came out piping hot, so I cut the first couple in half to cool off. When cutting in, I noticed a thin yet ultra crispy batter. It had a great crunch biting into it. They were served with honey butter which I believe might also be used with the chicken sandwich a couple doors down. The honey butter is ultra savory and the hush puppies allow the butter to standout. For the main course, we seized the opportunity to enjoy the half priced pastas. My favorite and the highlight of the meal was the papardelle in a short rib ragu. It's one of the best dishes I've eaten this month. It's a must order here. The short rib is ultra succulent featuring some big meaty portions. The sauce is bold and delicious. It has the Sunday gravy depth to it. The sauce would be wonderful on anything, so the bowl of fresh made pappardelle was a more the sufficient vehicle for the sauce. We also had the agnolotti filled with ricotta in a honey sauce. Usually Italian food feels like it costs an arm and two legs in the West Village these days, but the happy hour promotion made it very budget friendly. Our meal came out to about $45 for an appetizer and two pastas before factoring in tip. The service was attentive. Staff was consistently floating around in case we needed anything. Our water was consistently topped off. Felt like a good culture too as the staff was engaging and their personalities came through. Pacing of the food was on point. There was one spacious, gender neutral restroom. The restaurant was on the smaller side but they managed to cram in about fifteenth seats making it an intimate experience."

"Brunch for the first time at Brookiyn Moon... Quick, randomly ordered recap:---cute space---mimosas for $1.99 (meh)---long wait time for food (over 30 minutes and they weren't super crowded)---friendly service---no wait time for seating (2.30p on a Sunday)---NO A.C. (it was 90 degrees and they were relying on a breeze? I was sweating profusely to the point my pants were wet when I got up to leave).---Okay food. No real complaints; I just think I've come to the conclusion that "chicken and waffles" is overrated. (but I would go back and try other dishes.)---I hear their wings are delicious."
"The food was absolutely amazing. I dream about the fish and specialty grits (peach cobbler grits). The service was great attentive and told my friend and I about the secret grits and history about the restaurant. The restaurant is small very intimate but the ambiance was nice. I can't wait to visit again."
"I stayed at local hotel for an early morning flight out of JFK.I asked the front desk if there was anywhere I could walk to .... They quickly said no. Not knowing the area I brought up Yelp and saw this was less than a mile away. Well after a quick 10 minute walk I found it! Upon arrival I questioned my decision, I am not gonna lie...the place does not look overwhelmingly inviting. Inam glad I walked in.The woman behind the counter was awesome. She walked me through and let taste local favorites. I loved everything...but there really is no fish. Haha. They have great baked, bbq and jerked chicken. They have the same options for ribs along with an amazing beef rib. I went with the baked chicken and jerked pork ribs. A side of rice with the beef gravy and some Mac n cheese. After getting back to the room, I ate like a king while watching some old episodes of Seinfeld on Netflix! Thanks to whoever was working that evening .... She made this out of town guy feel welcome and put together a great meal!!!"
"MayRee is a gem for authentic Thai cuisine with a modern twist. We started with crispy Hed Tod mushrooms with sweet chili sauce and the Somtum papaya salad, both bursting with fresh flavors. For mains, the Pad Thai Hor Khai, wrapped in a delicate omelet, and the rich Kaeng Phed Ped duck curry were exceptional. The cocktails were a highlight, especially the Morrakot, with sake, vodka-infused lemongrass, and coconut milk, and the indulgent Thai Tea Tikki Coco, topped with coconut flakes and edible gold leaf. Celebrating Pride Month, the 'Proud to be Pride' cocktail--a blend of gin, elderflower, and prosecco is def a must! With top-notch ambiance, service, and unforgettable dishes, MayRee is a must-visit."

I did a pickup order and I can say customer service is definitely great. The ambiance is amazing and very chilled vibes. I had the fried chicken, mac n cheese, collard greens, yams and cornbread. The Mac n cheese was not what I expected and lacked cheese along with flavor 2/5 . All of my other sides and chicken did taste great 4/5. As for the cornbread it's good but if an establishment is called "Cornbread" I want the cornbread to stand out like real "CORNBREAD" it was giving standard cornbread flavor, but nonetheless tasty. It's a little on the pricier side but they do have a fried chicken lunch special you can get for cheaper. I'd stop on by again if I'm in the area.

Been meaning to try this restaurant for awhile. Glad I made it! The restaurant is a small place in a nice quaint area of the West Village. Our Waiter Anthony was so nice and friendly. He helped my friend and I out with figuring out the menu as it was our first time at the restaurant. We missed the happy hour and opted for the prix fixe dinner - 3 courses for $55. Also for the bottle of wine where it's $40 for the month of August. We ordered the following dishes, all were very good and we were so full we had to take some home:- buratta - burnt ends- parpadelle - agnolotti - fried chicken - ribs Would love to come back here and try out their pasta happy hour next time!

The food was delicious, garlic wings, you can taste the seasoning in every bite. Mac and cheese, was seasoned through and cheesy. The shrimp was very good and the salmon croquettes, it had a southern flavor. Service was awesome, the owner and her daughter in-law were pleasant. Ambiance was warm and welcoming, the music was great! Thanks for the Playlist My husband and I will be back!

Well, on my layover at JFK International Airport, hunger became overwhelming. Being wary of airport cuisine, I persuaded the crew to head over to Rockaway Fish House for a trip down memory lane, soul food cuisine style. I noted some less than favorable reviews of late on this place and was a bit skeptical, but I decided to try it anyway.Thankfully, it was a day when oxtail was on the menu, which proved to be a magnificent selection. One of the group had the fried chicken platter, the other gorged on oxtails like me, only exchanging the sides. While some upgrades could be made to the interior facade, this didn't take away from what was important, the quality and overall taste of the food. The oxtail was extraordinarily seasoned and tender, just as I had envisioned them on the short drive over. My Mac and cheese were a well selected corner piece, slightly crunchy on the top and very cheesy. I couldn't have made it better myself. A sizable iced tea to wash it down, and a slice of coconut custard pie finished me off real well. I was gastronomically prepared for my 14-hour flight, although I wishing I had obtained a to-go order to offset that airline food. A big win for the Rockaway Fish House keeps holding on to your standards of excellence.

The chicken wings were ridiculous. Wish this place was more accessible to me because I'd order them all the time. Duck curry was flavorful and a good balance of spicy and sweet. The crab fried rice and spring rolls were also delicious. Shame the bar seating wasn't the most comfortable, but my experience overall was a good one. Thanks for the food!

Really cute spot that reopened a few months ago. I've gotten take out several times now. I've gotten the fried catfish, mashed potatoes, yams, potato salad and the Mac and cheese and everything has been delicious. The best really quality comfort food. The drinks are bomb too. The service is always fast and there's always the same people who are super sweet and welcoming. Such a great neighborhood spot.

Your dinner search ends here! My server Carter and bartender Jovian made me feel right at home offering warm welcomes, spot-on ordering advice, and friendly service. I had their famous rum punch, and it did not disappoint. I can see why a few rum punches later, dancing would ensue. For food, I ordered a stuffed grilled pepper with vegan jambalaya over a grilled portobello with a side of Cajun mac and cheese. Delicious! I'll for sure come back for the excellent service, tasty food/drinks, and live entertainment. Hot tip: If you like live music, plan your visit around their entertainment schedule. Special shout out to Carter and Jovian! You guys made my day! Jovian, it does only get better...especially after your rum punch!

"It took the restaurant 60 minutes to deliver an order to me 10 minutes away. Minus that I ordered a Shrimp Po'Boy. When I got my order the sandwich was on regular sandwich bread. I've never seen a Po'Boy on sandwich bread...always a hero. To be overpriced and terrible order service, I'm extremely disappointed because the flavor and food are good but not worth the jip I feel. At least call and say hey I ran out of the traditional bread for Po'Boy rather than serving this. I hope they improve in this area but I definitely won't be ordering for a while if ever. This isn't my first time having issues. I always come back because the food is good but presentation, customer service and delivery can do better for the way they are pricing. My delivery guy was nice so no fault to himUpdate...cornbread was staler than Kristen Stewart's personality. I don't know if because my order was late but the cornbread had no flavor and was a crumbly dry mess"
"I went in a Thursday night for some drinks. I'm not gonna lie it was a slightly older crowd. I danced with a man that could've been my grand papi. But it was still a vibe. The music was good. The bartenders poured a strong drink and it was super chill. They do have a food menu but I didn't try any of their items. I'd go back."
"Great spot. The fries are as closest thing to bojangles' within hundreds of miles and that's a great thing. The pancake is amazing as is the fried chicken. Oysters are fresh and wonderful and they have a consistent happy hour. Soundtrack is also usually on point and carries the southern theme in the best way possible. I've heard Robert Lester Folsom not once but twice here. Oh yeah and the biscuits are some of the best you will find. The servers are very attentive and helpful."
"The food here is fresh and flavorful good portions for the price. Family friendly. There's a bar when you walk in to your left so if you're just looking to hang for a drink it's positioned perfectly away from the dining area. It's not a place to go wild but you can certainly pre game there. The service was quick and the servers were friendly except for one young lady. I dined in with my kids and sister. They all approved so we will definitely be dining here again."
"It's Pecking and not Peking, and, it's Henry and not Hester street, so do not get the search results twisted. The chicken was delicious and bursting with flavor. I plan to go back to try everything on the menu. The location is off the beaten path for me so this establishment allows me to venture off and try something new with homage to their chicken being off the beaten track."
"This is definitely a great spot! Would love to see more places like this in the east ! Staff is great, food is good and tasty, fresh and you get enough for your money ! Very clean and welcoming space ....love the art work on the walls and lots of seating. Will definitely visit again !"
"This brunch hit the spot!My husband and I had a long work week and decided to have a date at home. I had the Jim Cade breakfast. The eggs were cooked perfectly, the french toast had great flavor (nice add in with the fruits) . The only thing was that the grits needed a bit of flavor. My husband ordered the steak and eggs and a side of grits. The steak was cooked well but was also super tender. We will definitely be ordering again!"
"Stopped by this place for lunch and I will def be back! The hostess was great and personable. Food was great! I had the Super Bowl and babe had the chicken box.Ambience was cool..."
