The restaurant was pretty clean and organized. The workers worked swiftly and with great customer service. I had the pork kimchi stew and my cousin had the Gamja Tang ( pork ribs with potato stew). I like my pork kimchi stew, I wish it had more pork in it. I would rate 8 out of 10. My cousin was not impressed with his entree but he did like my pork kimchi stew as well. The entree came with little sides such as kimchi, beets, etc. I like that they have single or couples dining area where it's separates by a clear screen. They have restroom for use. Accepts cards or cash."

This sushi spot has quickly become one of my favorites in the city, thanks to its unique offerings and exceptional sushi. The highlight of Omakase Sushi Dairo, which sets it apart from other sushi places, is their free sake and BYOB policy. As a sushi enthusiast, I found this to be a game changer. The complimentary sake perfectly complemented the sushi, enhancing the flavors and overall dining experience. The BYOB option adds a personalized touch, allowing you to pair your favorite drinks with their exquisite dishes. The sushi itself was phenomenal. The chefs at Omakase Sushi Dairo are masters of their craft, serving up some of the freshest and most flavorful sushi I've had in NYC. Each piece was a work of art, with attention to detail that speaks volumes of their dedication to quality. The ambiance of the restaurant is intimate and inviting, making it an ideal spot for both casual dinners and special occasions. The staff was attentive and knowledgeable, adding to the overall positive experience. In conclusion, Omakase Sushi Dairo is a must-visit for sushi lovers in NYC. Amos S. "FOOD: I didn't try any "food", though I will say they had a pretty large menu. From breakfast delights to dinner, they seemed to offer a little bit of everything. I did order cheesecake and a hot chocolate, and my Judez ordered hot chocolate and key lime. My cheesecake was delicious btw... as long as the cocoa. SERVICE: Fast. Accurate. Polite. Nothing more, nothing less. AMBIANCE: If you're from NYC, then it's just a typical diner. This one is off 42nd and 6th I think. So, midtown, Times Square (just not IN Times Square, which is obviously a good thing). If you're not from NYC, just imagine what you'd think a diner in the city is like; it's like that. I really liked it. Cheesecake was good and hot cocoa was too. Close enough to Times Square and Broadway without being RIGHT on it. Neat little diner. Fast service. Decent prices (actually on the cheap side as far as other places in the city go, which is a good thing). Good food. Big menu. Open late."

I can go on and on about the food, but just tell the server your taste and go with their recommendations. I've tried just about every dish that doesn't contain pork, and I've never been disappointed. The servers won't stear you wrong. I've been coming here for atleast 20 years. My parents first brought us here, and now I take my kids. It's that kind of place. All the food here is a 10 out of 10 and literally nothing will disappoint. Service is also great, just make sure to get a reservation before you go or the wait is going to be pretty long. We walked in and were seated immediately around dinner hour. It definitely does give off a friendly home-y vibe. Service was very courteous and it felt like a family owned business. There were two people working, one that was cooking, and the other that was working the front of store. The food itself was great! I personally am a big fan of Burmese food and I brought a friend who's fresh from the Bay Area. I would say we didn't come with super high expectations, but I can say we enjoyed every dish and were very stuffed!Tea Leaf Salad (original & medium sized) - It was really good! The fermented tea leaves were definitely better than ones I've had in the past. We wanted the anchovies add-on, but they didn't have it the day of. It comes in both medium and large sized. I would say the medium can feed 2-3 people!Yellow noodles with chicken and eggs - delicious! Beef Curry - also very delicious! Burmese pancake - I was very eh about this actually. The flavors were okay, but I wished there was more of a kick compared to the other dishes. We ordered a bit too much, but no regrets! I would come back here to try more of the food here. Wendy W. "A Malaysian restaurant! In Park Slope! And it's actually good! I never thought I'd see the day. The two of us ordered a bunch of dishes, alarming our waiter until we reassured him that we'd be packing copious leftovers. In terms of standouts, the ong choy Malaysian style a.k.a. water spinach with sambal sauce was excellent and so flavorful. My friend loved the satay beef, which was juicy and tender. The roti canai only had one little piece of roti, but I liked that it was thicker than usual, and the accompanying curry with potato and chicken pieces was very tasty.Dishes that weren't as top notch, but still good: For the red curry duck... holy moly, this was some of the best cooked duck I've had in a while. They give an abundant portion of meat with perfectly crispy skin. It's honestly a dream for duck fans. The rest was only okay, though. The dish was oddly lacking in curry sauce itself, and I wasn't a fan of the okra here, which achieved peak levels of sliminess. The Hainanese chicken was tender in a delicious soy sauce marinade, with the requisite ginger scallion sauce and tangy chili sauce. I just wish the chicken rice had been a little more moist and oily, really soaking up that chicken fat or stock like I prefer.I'd also highly recommend the teh tarik, which was milky but not too thick, and hit just the right level of sweetness."

Patrick R. "Showed up to Ichiron on a busy Saturday night. The wait was long, roughly 45 minutes in the cold, but this place is definitely worth the wait. Once inside, we waited in a short line just before ordering at a digital kiosk that allowed us to fully customize our orders. The young lady in charge of the front desk was very type A, though that is likely needed in her position. She was organizing multiple dining parties at once as well as keeping track of who orders what, who sits where, and which dining seats are full/empty/being bussed. She was on top of it, and that was greatly appreciated when encountering such a unique dining experience. We were seated after a short wait after ordering and holding on to our receipts showing which customizations we ordered. We were seated in seats 14 and 15. Each seat is a small cubicle-type area, seen in the photo provided. Very cozy. There are hooks behind you for placement of coats. There is free filtered cold and hot water. Seats are lined up one after another in a row with everyone facing the same direction. I was immediately greeted by the Japanese worker behind the short gap at the bottom of the wall at the back of my seat's cubicle. They took my receipt, thanked me for dining there, then returned shortly to drop off my drink and toppings. The experience was cozy, comfortable, calming, warm, polite, and wonderful. The ramen was incredible. Ichiron's special spicy sauce is unlike any other slice I've tried in any other ramen. The broth was warm, mouth-watering, and satisfying, and the pork chashu was melt-in-your-mouth tender. So delicious. You can tell they've fine tuned their spice concoction to perfection. I got level 4 spice which was perfect, not too overwhelming but just enough for a little kick of heat. The noodles were perfectly cooked. Fun fact: you can choose between 5 different levels of firmness/softness of noodle types when ordering. I went with the recommended option #3, right in the middle. The meal was delivered without much wait and was accompanied by the cook giving a short bow, common in Japanese culture as a sign of respect and thanks. I loved the interactions with the cooks and server behind the cubicle. No eye contact was made, as the gap is just below chest level of the worker. This allowed the interactions to be polite, respectful, and much more complimentary than your usual American service. There was no tip expectation as well which was also appreciated. Overall, I would honestly rate this as my favorite ramen experience I've ever had. The ramen itself is at least top 3 I've ever had, and it's not number 3 more than likely. No matter the wait time, please do yourself a favor and experience Ichiron. I have no doubt it will be a highlight of your visit to NYC."

The decorations felt immersive and welcoming.Service (5/5): You can tell it's great service when the wait staff all have walkie talkies! We were seated for our reservation time immediately but right beside the entrance. We asked the hostess if we could move away from the cold draft and she said all the tables were accounted for. However, she offered 1 hand warmer for each of us!! Wow, never had that offered before.Cocktails took more time to arrive than our mains and were super strong!Food: Be warned that the Sichuan food here is extremely spicy, even the mild option! While I was okay, my other guests found it way too spicy for their palate.Swing Pork Belly (3/5): The cold slices were unmarinated and required the dipping sauce for flavor. This was a nice picturesque dish but nothing to write home about. For those that can't handle spice, this was the only dish that wasn't spicy that we ordered.Beef slices in hot and sour soup (3/5): This was a unique flavor that I was not expecting. The soup was sour but also reminded me of traditional Chinese medicine or something that my parents made for me when I was sick. Although the beef was tender, I found it a bit too sour for my taste.Mapo Tofu (5/5): The tofu had a nice film of chili oil and the minced beef gave the dish some more flavor. It went lovely when mixed with white rice.Pepper Chicken (4/5): The cubed chicken pieces were all tender. The mild flavor of the hot peppers caused a numbing effect. I thought it tasted great!"

Ka C. "As someone who has lived in NYC forever it wasn't until recently that I learned there were 2 Wo Hop locations, the one downstairs with the crazy long lines which apparently serves American Chinese food, and the one upstairs which is the notably emptier "hidden gem" serving actual Cantonese Chinese food. The interior has a 90s Asian diner feel with booth tables, slightly rough around the edges and definitely not built for the modern day instagrammable aesthetics. But nonetheless, the food here blew me away (as a fellow Cantonese, you can maybe? trust my word for it).The standout dishes include the Cantonese style stir-fried lobster (market price) which came with generous toppings of ground pork and scrambled egg. This dish leans Toisanese than proper Cantonese, but it is excellent, has superior Wok Hay (iykyk) and lobster is fresh. The other favorite I've tried was the roasted squab ("siu yuu gap"), which is a small bird that is the size of a Cornish hen but the gaminess and dark meat texture of a duck. This dish exceeded all my expectations, crispy skin, perfectly seasoned all the way through, and tasted as good as they make it back in Asia.We also got some seafood stirfried noodles (not my fave, the noodles were too mushy), crispy salt roasted chicken (pretty good), and some squash with fried fish filet (unique and worth trying).I'd definitely come back here for the roasted squab alone. The server (she may be the owner, I should've asked) recognized us right away and when we order the minced chicken basil again she knew we wanted it much spicier than it was last weekend. They amped up the spice level significantly and it was perfection, I'd imagine it's how this dish is traditionally supposed to be (rather than "dumbed-down" to appeal to a wider audience). Following up the spicy with the slightly sweet pad thai was definitely the move. I've increased my rating from 4 to 5 as both dishes were the best we've had. Keep up the good work, MA!(In my original review, I mentioned the off-putting music selection and that it was way too loud. Today, the music was lovely, a jazzy upbeat piano soundtrack. The volume was still too high -- it should simply be in the background. The other environmental tweak they could make it turning up the heat a little, as it's a bit cold in there.)"

We got there around 6 and had no trouble getting a table, but by the time we left folks were having to wait 10-20 minutes. We started off with the tofu summer rolls. They came out quickly and were really good. The lemongrass that was used was delicious and added a brightness when paired with the hoisin-based dipping sauce. For my main, I had the pan fried crispy noodles with tofu and my husband had the pho. Both dishes were incredibly generous portions. Mine was fantastic -- the crispy noodles were mostly out of the broth, meaning you could decide when to soak them in the broth. This allowed for the perfect bite .There were a ton of veggies in the dish and nearly an entire block of tofu. Everything was seasoned really well and had great flavor. My husband loved his pho and said it was some of the best broth he's had. The service was efficient and friendly and our bill was only $49! Definitely a great spot and will plan to return when we are in the area."
