When it's warm out there is the option to sit outside in the backyard area.My server was attentive checking in etc. We had an early reservation for 5:30 and when we left a little before 7 the place was busy . The friend I was dining with has a severe allergy to tomatoes and tomato based products and her mom fresh black pepper. Our server confirmed with the kitchen on both and was proactive which was fantastic. We started with the crostini. We ordered the chicken pate, mushroom and the honey and ricotta. Each one was lovely light and flavorful. She was initially skeptical of the fact that I chose a restaurant that had them come from the UWS to the "wilds" of Brooklyn."

We got there at 8ish and it was nice and empty and quiet-- a great change of pace. This was also the best brunch/breakfast we had that trip (and we had a lot of brunch). I recommend the Golden Folded Eggs, they are cooked to fluffy perfection. And DONT SKIP OUT ON THEIR SOURDOUGH TOAST!! It taste so fresh and crusty and moist. LOVE! On top of this, their coffee is to daiiii for! Cappuccino is my go-to order. I wish we had Banters in Los Angeles"

Claire M. "This is my second time coming to Turco and it continues to be a solid choice for Mediterranean wraps! They make their own bread in house and fresh, so it's always hot, fluffy, and delicious! I got the falafel wrap which comes with a bunch of toppings, hummus, and you can get it spicy. The falafel is so moist and delicious - one of the best I've had in a long time. The fries are crispy on the outside and soft on the inside and are even better when you add pepper. Similarly, the mix gyro wrap is super solid and perfectly cooked! They give you a white sauce and a spicy sauce and both are flavorful and add a nice touch to the sandwiches. It tends to be a quick, relaxed eat, so perfect for a casual lunch. I think it's a mom and pop shop, so the service feels super homey and friendly. Overall, I will definitely continue to come here for a solid sandwich and service every time!"

Since I had a hard time deciding , the cashier offered me a sample of the pastrami. I couldn't finish the sandwich and when I asked for a to-go container she took it in the back and had the chef wrap it for me! About $17 for the medium sandwich and you can get bigger or smaller. I arrived about 45 min before closing and they weren't sold out of stuff and I didn't feel rushed! The macaroni salad looked yummy but I'll try it next time. Can't wait to be back!"

Peter D. "Do you like gigantic, delectable sandwiches? Me too. They have them here. I've been eating them for over a decade, and I think this place just gets better every year. It may just be the best sandwich shop in Brooklyn, which puts it in the running for the best worldwide.Defonte's is a simple place. Walk in and figure out what you want. Meatball parm, roast beef, pastrami, roast pork, chicken cutlet, turkey...they do it all right. Any specialty sandwich with the thin slice of fried eggplant is a good call. The Golden Boy (basically a chicken parm with vodka sauce and prosciutto) is phenomenal. The Steak Pizzaiolo is legendary for a reason. There will probably be an amorphous line made up of mostly large groups of construction workers or truckers, firemen or cops, and some other folk wearing various NY sports gear. This means you're in the right place. When you know what you want, step up and wait for someone behind the counter to ask who's next. There are two sandwich sizes, "1/3" and "1/2." Really, these are "large" and "colossal." It's only $2 extra to get a colossal, so you want the colossal. I don't care if you aren't that hungry. Bring it to me, and I'll give you $10 for it. I don't even care which sandwich you ordered. And when you have your sandwich only a minute or two later, go eat it and rejoice. If you don't live nearby, they do have a few picnic tables outside; not great in winter and the view is nothing special, but a little sunshine goes a long way once spring hits. The only regret I have regarding Defonte's is that I can't eat all the sandwiches at once. The Golden Boy is my favorite, but I have to branch out occasionally. Last time I opted for the Italian Stallion, and the guy next to me was eating The Golden Boy. And of course he was so happy it was making me happy. And yet sad, at the very same time. But I dried my tears on my incredible, stacked sandwich, and all was right in the world."

Everything was delicious, sandwich is loaded with meat and toppings and is extremely filling, and the mango boba was extremely refreshing. I also want to note that for a park blanket sandwich it works quite well as it was remarkably well put together and easy to eat without making a mess.Service was also extremely fast considering how busy they were when I went, and it has a nice ambiance but beware peak meal times because it will get quite crowded inside and might make sitting in the restaurant a bit overstimulating."

There's no better burger in town, and the Steaks, pot roast, fish, soups and salads are always good. The banana cream pie is a pillowy mountain of delight. It's always packed pre theater, and reservations can be hard to come by at peak hours. but you can often snag a seat at the bar, which is convivial and totally cool. The food was good - a bit pricey, but that's to be expected in Midtown, and it's still half the price of what you'd pay for food and drinks inside MSG. It's a smart decision not have a happy hour here because $ is basically guaranteed before any MSG event...but quality of food sure goes down with the amount of customers...Great atmosphere and a solid choice for pre-game eats."

I ordered ahead of time so I could avoid the wait but on a weekday there was actually no line at all! The sandwich itself is actually quite good. The broccoli gives it a nice texture and actually fits in quite well with the sauerkraut and Russian dressing. The bread is also quite good and had a nice crisp when grilled. However, it is $16 for what is essentially broccoli and sauerkraut so that makes lunch at court street grocers far less appealing. Looking through pictures it seems like it used to be around $13 which is a much fairer price for what it is. I would consider coming back and trying one of the meat sandwiches since they seem to be a better bang for your buck."

Simon W. "Pho sandwich, pho real!Pho in sandwich form, not what I would expect to work, but it does! Pho is definitely what I would call a multilayered burst of flavor in each bite. Some heat from the jalapeño, a hint of sour from the lime, a little crunch from the fresh bean sprouts and onions, earthy notes from the Thai basil and scallions, and most definitely a strong traditional beefy flavor from the slow roasted brisket. Complete the bite with the dipping broth and you've got everything from Pho in a handheld. The price of the sandwich is misleading, it's enough to share as it stands today, with some sides. I'll be back again soon for another bite."

The richness from the yolk and creaminess from the yogurt cut by the cucumbers and dill and then hit with that chili oil. If I could eat one dish for the rest of my life it would be this. But don't sleep on the non egg things too. The lemon ricotta pancakes are a dream and the biscuit with the maple honey and jam (yes, please spent the extra $2 for the jam). My 2-year old and I were fighting over it and she was using a piece of bacon as a spoon to eat it. My only complaint was that they didn't sell the jam by the jar. I would have bought a case. When I entered, it was quiet with a few patrons dining and tapping away on their laptops. There is instructions to step up to the counter, order and then find a seat.I knew what I wanted: egg white omelet with cheddar and spinach, salad instead of toast and home fries and a cup of coffee. I served myself complimentary water from the jug and found a table. Once seated, I sipped my water and made an IC shopping list .My order arrived within ten minutes, just the omelet. The waitress apologized that their coffee machine was broken and asked if an Americano was okay to make instead. Absolutely! My omelet looked delicious but the only thing missing was the home fries. I guess the way I ordered was lost in translation ( at first they asked me to repeat it since they thought I said waffles vs no toast).Healthy Fawn voice said " it's better without home fries " and won over cheating Fawn voice ( tell them the home fries are missing!). The salad had zucchini ( yum), tomatoes, carrots and lettuce with a side of delicious balsamic vinegar. The omelet was absolutely scrumptious and fresh.Slimak offers numerous options: breakfast all day, soups, salads and desserts. Because there was so much we wanted to try, we had to dedicate 2 nights to this place on our NYC trip. The service was excellent. Only minor complaint is how close all of the tables are, but it's New York and I'm sure they are serving thousands of people a day! Let's get into the food: Brussel Sprouts: 3.5/5. The flavor for these are incredible but they were a little too mushy. I wish they were slightly more solid. French Toast: 5/5. The French toast was incredible.
