"We've been going to Fonda for years and love it. Last night we almost had a lousy experience but NO! The management went above and beyond to make everything work perfectly for us. I was very grateful because it was my birthday. We all enjoy the food- my favorite is always camarones adobado and it was delicious as usual. My son loves the fried plantains and they really are they best of anywhere we've eaten. Thanks Fonda for continuing to be a reliable, fun, delicious place for our family!"
"Unbelievable. We had a party of 9 on a Saturday night at 830 PM. Because of the party size, we had to do a set tasting menu. We had 1 veg, 1 allergy to fish, 1 dairy free.Xixa delivered! The drinks and service were quick, attentive, and fun! Our first course, a fried fish taco, came out around 850 and it was the best fish taco I've ever had. Light, airy, meaty, perfect accoutrement, house made tortillas, and just an absolute hit. The veg/non fish got a fried eggplant taco that they raved about too! I won't list every course, but they were all incredible, unique in a familiar way, and very sizable. I was so full at the end and we even got a double dessert because we were celebrating some events. My favorite dish was the crispy pork osso buco taco, but everything was exceptional. We got 9 of us fed 11 courses, multiple drinks, and great service the whole way in about 2.25 hours. I hope I get the honor to go back again soon. Thank you Xixa (Shiksa)!"

"What can I complain about this restaurant? My personally favorite thing to eat here looks like none of them. My husband loves here because they have steak and eggs for breakfast. I'm in other hand. I already tried grilled fish, ceviche shrimp or other dishes. None is my cup of tea, honestly. Today I order Nopal Asado; it is grilled cactus top with Oaxacan cheese and rajas con crema. I kind of like it. I know now what should I order when I come to this Maxican place. Limitation of food I like but I can make it works."
"It was Taco Tuesday hence I decided to have lunch at this establishment. The atmosphere was laidback. My waiter was personable when I walked in. I asked for a table. Since it was a weekday lunch hour, I was seated immediately. Their taco special was amazing. I loved how fresh the fish was.I highly recommend coming here,"
"Located in the middle of Ktown, this place is spot on for yummy food and cocktails! Highlights of the menu:1. Fried squid tentacles2. Spicy rice, cake, and fish cake soup 3. Korean pork Katsu cutlet4. Karaage5. Green tea mochi five pieces6. Maze margarita7. Coconut mai tai8. Maze mojito"
"Was on the hunt for some Mexican food and this popped up. When we entered, the restaurant was a bit dark and the waitress was speaking in Spanish to us. We ordered a burrito and the Texan nachos to share among three people. But honestly, the nachos could've fed us all as it was HUGE. The chips were a bit stale which ruined the nachos, but it was still tasty. The burrito was served on a plate."
"Stopped in for the 2 for 1 brunch happy hour... what a deal! Had the mimosa and bloody Maria both excellent and for $10 can't beat it! Service was attentive and vibes were high."
"The food is great! Staff is friendly, and the place has nice lighting. The only downside is that they sometimes forget a few bones in the chicken dishes."
"El Gallo was such a great place for us to enjoy a nice hearty meal and with their advertised promotions on Ubereats, it was even better! However, they quickly went from reasonable to ridiculous and the quality did not improve or even stay the same and it's just been worse. One day the baby burritos were $7 then jumped to $9.25. Gallo fries $12 then $15. Their side of salsa was $1.50 then jumped to $3.00 (double??) and pretty much everything else jumped up in price for us seemingly overnight since we were frequenting so much. There was no gradual increase at all. In addition, they are super stingy on the salsa. They give you a teeny cup, but it's hit or miss if you get a "full container" and we always buy extra anyway, but really feel "forced" to get more with how little is received nowadays and those are also not always filled up either!FORGET about asking for another mini container - they will straight up tell you no. You also get the same tiny sized container if you get the baby or the regular burrito. The only thing that feels the same is the $1.00 upcharge for certain meats and the taste is good, but it's hard to enjoy when you feel like you're getting effed - oh and when it's dripping all over and covered in grease making it soggy and not keep it's shape. Even with the Ubereats BOGOs, it no longer feels worth it. Maybe we will be back once in awhile, but sadly, we won't be regulars anymore."
"Nice, casual Mexican spot in the neighborhood. I always thought this spot was too pricey, but was quite surprised by how good the food was. We started off with a Classic Margarita ($15) and Brooklyn Lager ($8). The Margarita was a bit too strong for me, but it came in a cool skull glass cup. I also wish that it wasn't an extra $2 charge for flavor and spice, which seems unfair. For food, we weren't too hungry and got one dish to share. We ordered the Chopped Cheese Wrap ($20), which was essentially a restaurant version of a Crunchwrap supreme. I love crunchwraps and I love chopped cheese, so this combo was perfection. Plus, the crispy fries that it came with were crunchy and flavorful --some of my favorites honestly. Although pricey, the food is good."
"This is my second visit after many years, specifically for the Panaderia Rosetta pop-up during Dia de los Muertos. We had brunch - Chilaquiles Verdes and Al Pastor Gringa, both super flavorful. I really liked tortillas! The pastries were also yummy, not too sweet, moist, and flaky. Prices are slightly above average but I guess comparable to other nice restaurants. The space is modern, we sat in the covered patio. Service was friendly but a bit slow. Overall, I'm glad I came back for another visit!"
"Frida has become one of my favorite Mexican restaurants. They take pride in their presentation and it is evident in every area (outdoor seating, service, wall decor, food, and even the restrooms). My Coconut Margarita was incredible. The perfect blend of sweetness and tequila made every drop amazing and enjoyable. We started with the Pulpo Asado (Octopus). It came on a bed of mash potatoes, was nice and firm, and the dipping sauces complemented every bite. The Watermelon Salad was a work of art. The rocoto orange dressing placed this dish into the stratosphere. So glad that I ordered it and highly recommended. Our entrees were all exquisite. The Birria Tacos were flavorful, had a spicy dipping sauce, and a savory birria broth that made this selection incredible. The Birria Ramen was just as good as the photo that I've presented. Each ingredient came together to create unique explosions of flavor and makes this another recommended item. The sides were just as impressive as the entrees. We ordered the Queso Fresco (Fresh Cheese) Sweet Plantains and Yuca (Casava) Fries. Both... amazing.Don't hesitate to come to Frida and enjoy modern cuisine at its finest."

First things first- for the uninitiated, you should plan to arrive on a weekday around 4:00 for one of the best happy hour deals in the Slope. You get a mix of all types squeezed in at the smallish bar area (seating around 9) but the menu selections are worth it at the price point. I rarely go wrong with a mango margarita on the rocks and an order of the nachos which is a massive platter of tortilla chips layered with chorizo, black beans, Chihuahua cheese, pico de gallo, crema and pickled jalapenos. All menu items including the guac are $11 and you will save $3-4 on drinks depending on your libation of choice.Service has always been excellent; bartenders are usually pretty attentive and friendly. There is plenty of additional sitting as well as a seasonal backyard area and the regular menu plays most of the greatest hits with the Pollo Norteno (guajillo marinated chicken with cheese, peppers and onions and warm tortillas) and carnitas being the standout. If it weren't for the bar situation, I might knock off one star as those Slope prices have me wondering what I would be able to get for the same cost in nearby Sunset Park but there is enough of a selection at happy hour, for Fonda to make it into the weekly rotation.

We made a resy for eight on a Saturday night. One of the main reasons why we chose this place was for the ease of having a set tasting menu. It was even better when the tasting menu was super affordable at around 56 dollars!I got two cocktails. They were good but not something to write home about. Our set menu started with guacamole and 3 types of chips. It was very standard. I would've wanted a few more chips as we still had guacamole left. The fish tacos were great with a sweet beet topping? I was expecting them to be pickled. I think it needed a bit more citrus. The burrata with possibly ?fried green tomatoes was interesting. The lamb meatballs and pita course was interesting. It definitely tasted more Mediterranean than Mexican, which was a little disjointed with the overall vibe of the menu. But it was very well done. The scallop with noodles with artichoke sauce was my favorite of the night. The chicken wings were very crisply fried and super tasty . Lastly I think we had a super crispy pork shank with tortillas. At this point, we were already so happily full from the meal.We ended with churros and a funfetti tres leche. The service was friendly. I would give it a 4.5/5. Definitely would come back for another big group dinner. Excited to see how the menu changes seasonally.

Came here with a friend to grab some tacos and I would not come back here again. The only good thing was the Korean pulled pork taco; that was the only thing I would get again if I was in the area.Their Al pastor was not it and it tasted off.. Guac and chips; 3.5/5.. Their chips were a bit stale and I did not enjoy their bland guac :(! Overall; I would try their other items. However, I would stay away from their guac & chips & Al pastor.

I was looking forward to trying this restaurant in the city. When I arrived I found parking on the street nearby. I found the restaurant, and it was on the upper level. When I walked in, I loved the decor. We were sat and served by Serin and Roberto. We started with Maze Martini and the Maze Mojito, which were really good drinks. For our appetizers, we had the Grilled scallops, which were good but a tad rubbery and the chicken wings, which were good. For our entrées we had the garlic butter shrimp and the scallop gorgonzola gnocchi. The shrimp was good, but the gnocchi was delicious! For dessert, we had the green tea mochi, which was tasty. We ordered everything via computer. It was a really good experience!

I love this place. 1) food- always on time and delicious. 2) service- friendly staff and they're always attentive even when it's busy!3) it's so culturally decorative. The paintings are so nice. To anyone that thinks this place is expensive, please go to park slope and then compare it to this place. To anyone that thinks this place lacks communication (language barrier)-- okay what do you expect we're in sunset park? Don't complain cause you can't speak Spanish. Be patient with the staff. It's not their fault management won't staff up. Times are tough. Cook at home if you're not patient enough.

Everything was fresh and flavorful. I was pleasantly surprised by the variety of vegetarian options. The service was quick and the staff were kind. The restaurant is large and can accommodate larger parties well. I came with a 15+ group. I definitely recommend stopping by Calexico in Park Slope.

Idk why it's taken me so long to try this place because its so close to where I live and I love mexican food. I gotta say, this place exceeded my expectations. This has my stamp of approval as someone who was raised in san diego and used to live in mexico for a hot minute. I highly recommend their mini nachos with green salsa!

"Came here for the first time this past Saturday and absolutely loved it. It was pretty chilly out so we chose to sit inside. They take your temperature upon entering, their tables are all spaced apart and their staff all wear masks. As soon as we sat down, we were given complimentary chips and salsa.. awesome start! We then ordered a few spicy margaritas (strawberry and spicy). They were so good that we decided to grab a pitcher right after. As for food, there were so many delicious options on the menu but we ultimately decided the hard tacos, the veggie fajitas, empanadas and choco flan for dessert. I'm a hard shell taco kind of guy and I was so happy to see the option on the menu, as most places only serve soft tacos. They had the perfect crunch, were packed with flavor and held together with each bite. I can't comment on the fajitas as I did not try my dates dish, but the empanadas were fantastic. She's a vegetarian so we opted for a plain cheese empanada. The cheese was warm, gooey, and oh so stretchy. I know this is a bold statement but I would put these in the top echelon of empanadas across New York! Now onto the finale.. their chocoflan. In the words of Joey Lawrence from Blossom, "WHOA"! This was the perfect way to end a meal. I loved how the quickly the fork pierces the soft flan, only to be slowed down by the rich creamy chocolate below. Each bite slowed down time. I don't often find myself in this area but the next time I'm back, you can bet I'm returning to Blue Agave."
"Ordered two quesadillas - one steak and one chicken for delivery yesterday and was very pleased. Delivery was very prompt and friendly and quesadillas really hit the spot. Steak was good but a little bit chewy. Probably from the transit time. Still good, but we just liked the chicken more. A small portion of guacamole was included with each dish, which was my favorite part! Very tasty and perfectly seasoned. Will order a separate portion of guacamole on my next order."
"Decent Mexican spot. Came here with a friend on a Friday night and got seated right away. We ordered the Guacamole and Chips, which was made to order. It was actually really good, definitely the best part of the meal. I ordered a Chicken Burrito, which was fine. It was very big and filling though. Glad we got to checkout this place."
"The food is amazing! The drinks are the best PERIOD! Carol is an amazing bartender. The chicken is bomb and delicious. Can't get enough of this place!"
"Mexican restaurants and food in the Sheepshead Bay area has always been quite limited and it's unfortunate that there aren't more considering it's one of my favorite cuisines. (And Taco Bell DOES NOT count folks).I've been going to El Mexicano for many years now on the corner of Avenue U and East 15th Street, but not really because they ever served amazingly delicious food, but more because they were just plain convenient. Being one of the few Mexican restaurants in Sheepshead Bay and probably the only one within the surrounding blocks, El Mexicano always served solid food, but depending if you dined in or picked up, the experience could be painful. The restaurant is very small with just a few tables, but believe it or not, they actually expanded within the last few years. There are 2 flat screen TVs in the restaurant, which are typically turned to the Spanish sports stations. They serve your usual Mexican fare in Tacos, Burritos, Cemitas, Enchiladas, Flautas and misc. meat entrees and it's all reasonably priced. In the past, I've tried their different tacos, burritos and enchiladas and all of it has always been decent. As I usually say, none of it will blow your mind, but it's solid and considering there aren't many Mexican restaurants in the neighborhood, it will do. For some of the tacos, shockingly, in the year 2020, they are still priced at only $2.50, while the more desirable options are priced at $3. Meat options include goat, chicken, beef, salted beef, fried pork, tongue, marinated pork, shrimp and lamb. The meats have always been real fresh and there is plenty of it to fill the tacos. However, the lack of other supplemental ingredients (cilantro, onion, tomato) has always been noticeable. Don't get me wrong, there was some, but just not as much as I've seen from other restaurants. As for the burritos, they are MASSIVE. They definitely don't skimp on any of the ingredients, especially the meat and rice. In addition, they include tomatoes, lettuce and a good dollop of sour cream. However, at times the flavor can be lacking, so its hit or miss. The enchiladas are my wife's go to order here and once again they definitely give you your money's worth. The order always includes 4 enchiladas and a ton of rice and beans. It's actually pretty good and tasty, but the serving can be overwhelming.Overall, the food at El Mexicano is really a hit or miss. I've always liked their tacos and the meats inside, but they skimp on supplemental ingredients. And my note about dining in versus picking up. If you do decide to dine in, be prepared to wait a while as service is very slow at times. On our last visit, my wife and I just waited, waited and waited before we were able to flag down the waitress to take down our orders. The restaurant wasn't too busy, but every time the waitress came out or we got her attention to come over, she was busy doing something else. The food is a solid fix for anyone craving Mexican food, but the lack of attention while dining in can be a turnoff if you're in a hurry."
"The food was good. Margaritas and the pineapple margaritas are really good. The restaurant is nice and clean and has nice vibes. I would probably give 4.5 stars"
"Several places have come and gone in the spot now occupied by Terrace. I can't say I miss any of them. Now, with Terrace, I can say I would. The neighborhood has needed a diner in the vicinity and they are filling the void nicely. The "regular" diner breakfast food is really good (I love a hash brown that is solid and crispy) but their Mexican diner menu has me coming back weekly. My personal favorite is the chilaquiles (with salsa rioja) but their huevos rancheros or huevos Mexicana are both stellar choices that go down nicely with a piña colada."
"Like many of my weekend adventures, I get hungry and do a quick search in the local area for some delicious grub. In this case, I was in the mood for Mexican food. My search yielded many options but I decided on Móle, and I'm so glad I did. Móle is located in Williamsburg just off the main strip near the water. I found the restaurant to me quite festive and welcoming. The staff was very friendly and the service is prompt. I enjoyed a few delicious chicken enchiladas and a cold beer. My company enjoyed a steak Burrito. The food was delivered hot and fresh, and certainly prepared/presented in as authentic way as one would expect. My friend and I had no complaints and we both left feeling satisfied having been served generous portions. In the end, I would definitely recommend giving Mole a try. I'm looking forward to a return visit in the very near future."
"It's okay even though it's not authentic. Seems like a pretty typical Mexican place. The only difference is the higher prices. It's not the most expensive restaurant on Bedford. Some things here are better priced. I came in here the last time with my hot woman friend. It was already pretty busy so there were only bar stools open. The place isn't that big so it fills quick. It's especially busy at happy hour. This was going on when we got there. I had a Tecate in a can. It was about $3 at happy hour. They have some excellent margaritas. It's about $5 for these at happy hour. They also have many other food specials. I had a good experience with the food. My choice was the vegetable tacos. These are entirely made from vegetables. Except the tortilla of course. These are about $10 for a few. I have eaten much worse Mexican crap. My friend agreed it was better going here than cheaping out on fast food. Vera Cruz May not be exactly cheap, but it's a place around here that's not a ripoff."
"Love the atmosphere of this restaurant/bar. Came for early dinner and drinks and would definitely return!Grab a couple friends and order a margarita pitcher, best bang for your buck! Recommend the Cucumber Jalapeño Margarita, has a kickApps - Esquites and Guac are both 10/10. Ensalada de Sandia is a miss in my opinion...Tacos - Al Pastor and Pescado, def delicious! Will say if your hungry load up on apps, cause 2 tacos for the price of a set isn't very much food.Great service, especially when I was in a group of about 10."
"Great place to have breakfast. Outdoor and indoor seating available, seating is available for something small or huge parties. The menu has varieties of Mexican and American dishes. The bar is also available...yasssss Mimosas with breakfast, because it is in fact (drum roll pleeeeaaassseeeee) 5 o'clock somewhere.Get the Mexican Breakfast with avocado! They take Amex (I'm building points) and Apple Pay.Everyone is friendly. I felt welcomed. The staff knew our manager by name. Great customer service! Take me BACK!"
"I came here for a group birthday dinner. It's a relatively affordable option for authentic Mexican food. The decor is bright and inviting. To drink, we got a pitcher of margaritas. It was enough for 5 of us to have a glass and a couple people to have seconds. We shared chips and salsa. The salsa was a bit watery and not very flavorful. I liked the thickness of their chips. For my main, I got the veggie tacos with nopal. An order came with three tacos. Each taco was served with two corn tortillas so they held all the ingredients well. The dish came with a mild salsa, which was tasty. I asked for hot sauce as well. It was super spicy and topped off the dish nicely. They gave a free shot to my friend who was celebrating her birthday. Overall, it's a good option in the area."
"Being possibly the most reviewed Brooklyn Mexican spot on Seamless, Las Chelitas tempted me to pick them for lunch. Not to damper on everyone's highly rated reviews, but it sadly fell through in expectations.I ordered the Al Pastor Tacos, Battered Fish Tacos, and Mango Jarritos. The food came neatly packaged, and they even offered complimentary chips and salsa! The tacos were in quantity of two's and were stored together. Let's start off with the Battered Fish Tacos ($6). Even though the fish may look ginormous, dry, and intimidating on the outside, it was warm, soft, and very moist on the inside! However, it was fine that the cabbage slaw on top was slightly sour, but the green sauce as well? You don't even need to add lime because of how sour the green sauce was. Although the fish taco lacked some flavor, that sauce was definitely not the complement to it. They made no mistake in incorporating pineapples into the Al Pastor Tacos ($6). I had this creation before, and love it. The pineapple pieces were refreshingly juicy and the pork pieces, flavorful! And boy, do they give a heaping amount! You definitely will need a fork at the end to gather the ones that got away. Both tacos were unfortunately on the dry side, especially due to the tortillas. They also squeezed way too many limes in that green sauce for me to want to use it! I unfortunately wouldn't come back, but it was still a solid lunch."
"Grabbed Brussel sprouts and sweet potato fries for takeout for the road and honestly, some of the best Brussels I've had in a while! Brought them over to a friends house for dinner and everyone loved em. Delicious, great flavor and service was super quick. Will definitely stop by again"
"Unique flavor and delicious cocktails. The Pulsd deal was amazing and introduced us to Cena near prospect park. They also have a location in Williamsburg. Not your traditional Mexican food with great vibes and delicious drinks. We started with shrimp ceviche which I would skip next time. The chips were too hard. The entrees were delicious and unique which I haven't seen anywhere. Who would have thought beet sauce to be so refreshing on an entree ? Drinks are amazing. Service was quick and the waitress were attentive."
"Stopped by here from recommendation from a friend. Two tacos with lots of meat and guacamole $9. You pay for each individual tacos. Also got the vegan burrito bowl. Couldn't finish it. Have another meal out of it for $14. Nice place for a meal and they gave 2 big screen tvs showing sports which was nice."
"Haven't been back in a while so I thought it was time. I didn't try my luck with food and stuck to what I know is actually decent. Luckily I made it for happy hour and got lots of tasty margs.Overall a spot to pop a squat, have a cold drink and nothing more."
"Great Place Near Barclays Center. I had a great meal at Tiny's Cantina near Barclays Center. The food was tasty, with lots of Mexican-inspired options. The place had a fun and lively atmosphere, perfect for a meal before an event. The staff was friendly, but it got busy fast, so I'd recommend making a reservation to avoid waiting. It's a small, cozy spot with limited seating. Overall, a great choice for good food, a fun vibe, and a location close to the arena!"
"Still dreaming of the mezcal here and the delicious take on chips and guac. What an elevated and high end way to present it, what got me was that delicious mole sauce. We came here for a little happy hour and were extremely surprised with the space as soon as we walked in. There's a whole world in here ready to take you in. I love how quaint and intimate it is and the kind of people you can run into. From friends catching up, to coworkers bonding to date nighters. This place brings the music, mezcal and Mexico spirit to Brooklyn.I knew I wanted to sip or have a mezcal cocktail as soon as we walked in. If you come during their happy hour, you can enjoy a Sangre de Mezcal drink for only $12. Yes, it might look small but it sure is mighty. I'm not a frozen drink kind of person since these are usually watered down with way too much ice but this one right here was just RIGHT. Hibiscus and mezcal are the perfect marriage and in this frozen drink, you sure can taste the bursts of flavors. We had to get to dinner at another spot but couldn't leave without drinking one of their best mezcals served the traditional way. I felt as if I was transported to Oaxaca and came back. If never even been there but the power of flavors that can transport you anywhere you want in just a sip. Can't wait to be back and try their full menu or even brunch!"
"This place has become my new go-to spot for tacos. I love the 12 tacos platter deal for $35. You can choose up to 3 choices of protein. My favorite choices are the al pastor, chorizo and beef. Pair the tacos with their house made fresh watermelon juice ($5) -- can't go wrong! Not to mention, their customer service is great and always friendly! I highly recommend this place if you are in the area and craving for some authentic Mexican tacos"
"Carne asada $32 5/5Quesadilla (1) de pollo $25 2.5/5Chocolate cake w apples and mixed berries $10 3.5/5Mocktail "#1" w pineapple, vainilla, coconout, lemon juice, topo chico 5/5I visited this spot with my cousin last summer. The highlight of the meal was the carne asada, along with the refreshing mocktail. The carne asada was juicy and savory. The chocolate cake had a unique sweet-tangy taste. I would have rated it higher, but it was too sweet for me. The quesadilla was a bit disappointing because it tasted bland. The provided salsa added some much-needed flavor.I would recommend this spot for couples or friends looking for a cozy date night. There was dimmed lighting, creating a warm and intimate ambiance. There is a good amount of seating, including bar seating. The staff was professional but not particularly friendly, only talked to us when taking our orders. There are also bathrooms available."
"We went to Andreas Chicken for dinner as it was across the street from the laundromat where we were doing a load of laundry, and it ended up being one of the best meals on our trip, and quite affordable too. There was a two-for-one special on mojitos, and a half-chicken combo for two people. The combo, which was a very reasonable $34, consisted of a half chicken served with yellow rice and beans and an avocado salad. For the price, we weren't expecting large servings of the sides, but they did not skimp on serving sizes. The meal was delicious, and substantial enough to serve three people. We couldn't finish it, and it was a shame that we didn't have a fridge in our hotel because I would have loved to take home the leftover avocado salad. If you're looking for a delicious, healthy, affordable meal, I highly recommend Andreas Chicken.[Yelp collections: East Coast 2022; NY Summer 2022]"
"Small mom & pop cafe serving up breakfast & variety of Mexican delicacies. Their tinga tacos are so good! Decent salsa too!"
