As we were seated and looking at the menu, I overheard the server messed up the drink order for the table next to ours. I joked with my friend, I hope it doesn't happen to us. It did happened to us. I ordered shrimp pasta but got sautéed shrimp instead. They brought the shrimp back and told me it's going to a wait for the shrimp pasta. The restaurant was only at 40% occupancy and they messed up the orders. The entree Mama' chicken came before the zucchini chips. We did enjoy the appetizer. The wait for the shrimp pasta was at least 15 minutes. Which we finished the appetizer. I asked my friend to start on her entree. The Mama' chicken was getting cold. Nobody came over to check on us or refill water. The server did not removed the wrong order from the bill. It took another 10 minutes to get the correct bill since the restaurant was starting to fill up."

I ordered a dark and stormy to drink which had me a little tipsy after only half the glass, lol-Service- Miguel was very attentive and sweet :)-Price- It's a pretty fancy restaurant so it's priced according to that-Did Not Like- N/A-Recommend- For sure"

The humus and tahini sauce full of flavor. I would give a 5 rating if I ever had the opportunity to sit down and dine. There's always a line down the block. Very popular place. I felt like i was in a ski chalet. Not a large room but our table was situated in the corner where it felt intimate.Ordered a glass of lovely wine and an appetizer sampler. I have to say that we were in heavy debate on whether we should do the fondue instead but then decided we must come back and try the fondue. We ordered the hummus, babaganush, sweet potato hummus and one other. The pita bread was huge and came out warm . So good! We all loved it.Next came the main course and as a vegetarian felt like they had amazing options. I got the king oyster skewers, falafel skewers and mushroom bulgar. My friends got the octopus and falafel skewers and my other friend the grain bowl. We all loved what we had and were stuffed and couldn't finish our meals or order dessert.Would highly recommend and will definitely be back."

We started off with the shrimp appetizer, which was had a lovely seasoning and was perfectly. My cousin had the mushroom ravioli and I had the 6 oz steak in a delicious peppercorn sauce with mashed potatoes and sautéed spinach. All terrific. Service was exceptional, friendly and attentive. The bartender was excellent, also playing DJ that included a sweet mix of classic New Orleans artists. Highly recommended!"

Party of 1 and 2 should have no issues but more than 2 you may have a wait. However the food is wonderful! My favorite was sweet potato hummus. With it being fall it's a perfect compliment. The Veridian is a spicy margarita. Now I like spicy but whew- I was not expecting that type of spicy. It was delicious but no way I could do a second and then switched it up.While the entrees looked amazing we decided to order a variety of small plates to share. Everything was tasty and well seasoned. My particular favorites were sweet potato hummus and Brick chicken. The top of the night was desserts. We got one of each and they were simply a treat. Do not skip desert. The chocolate kofta was divine but my surprise favorite was the knafe. I'm probably not spelling that right but hands down I would reorder again.Great find for a good meal."

Claire M. "This is my second time coming to Turco and it continues to be a solid choice for Mediterranean wraps! They make their own bread in house and fresh, so it's always hot, fluffy, and delicious! I got the falafel wrap which comes with a bunch of toppings, hummus, and you can get it spicy. The falafel is so moist and delicious - one of the best I've had in a long time. The fries are crispy on the outside and soft on the inside and are even better when you add pepper. Similarly, the mix gyro wrap is super solid and perfectly cooked! They give you a white sauce and a spicy sauce and both are flavorful and add a nice touch to the sandwiches. It tends to be a quick, relaxed eat, so perfect for a casual lunch. I think it's a mom and pop shop, so the service feels super homey and friendly. Overall, I will definitely continue to come here for a solid sandwich and service every time!"

The burrata with the beets was great and I loved the artichoke chips. The cabbage was charred and soft. Loved the combination of all the ingredients. The chicken was delicious and had a nice spice flavor. The Cabernet was a nice wine. Also enjoyed the Syrah as well. Our server Lewis was very knowledgeable and was very nice. We were seated near a large party of women who were clearly celebrating some event and we're a bit boisterous. So the ambiance was the somewhat diminished by that. We probably we're probably greeted by our server who allowed us adequate time to review the menu as first timers and offered suggestions based on our preferences.Ultimately, we ordered mixed grill, vegetable casserole, stewed, okra, hummus with a delicious type of Turkish pita, and stuffed grape leaves with meat. All dishes were a bit on the smaller side portion-wise, but true to Turkey (authentic).I would rare our dinner and overall experience as 8.5/10 with deductions for portion size and the large/loud party (granted the restaurant couldn't control that), but nevertheless, it affected the overall experience.."

We were served complimentary yummy, warm, soft bread with olive oil. I ordered the Pirzola, which were grilled Colorado Lamb Chops ($32.95), served with Turkish rice and veggies. The Lamb Chops were cooked to perfection with nice grill marks. They were melt in your mouth tender, juicy, and well seasoned. The rice was also fluffy and flavorful. Vegetables included tomato, carrots, yellow squash and zucchini. I also got to try the Spinach Pizza, which consisted of cream sauce, mozzarella fior di latte, along with shaved Parmesan cheese. This was delightfully cheesy with well done thin crust, however I'm not really a fan of spinach. Service was good. I thought the prices were very reasonable, especially for the Upper West Side. Shortly there after our waiter came over, introduced himself and assisted with a few questions I had about apps and recommended cocktails. After chatting I went with the octopus instead of the calamari and I'm glad I did! The Fava underneath the octopus was to die for. This dish came together so well, I couldn't stop eating it. For my meal I had the Black Seabass with Broccolini. Also very good with large portions allowing me to have a to go bag. Around 8:30ish the lights got dimmer, the tempo of the music changed and the volume turned up! It was also most party timeeee!! I have gone for brunch and dinner, both with and without reservations, and never had to wait more than a few minutes (though maybe we just got lucky because I do see long lines). A few things to note about the popular dishes include:- Smoked Salmon Benedict: Pretty standard brunch fare, that comes with sides of roasted potatoes and salad. - Wild Mushroom Risotto: This can be very hit or miss. Sometimes, it's super creamy as you would expect, but other times, it seems like rice is a bit too firm. The mushroom flavor is always very pronounced, which I appreciate, but the texture just tends to be inconsistent.- Tasting of Three Greek Spreads: I have tried the hummus, tzatziki, and taramosalata. The hummus was a bit too dry and unseasoned for my preference the last time I had it. The tzatziki was definitely the highlight here, since it was super creamy, yet light. The taramosalata was solid with a mousse-like texture, but a bit on the salty side. The grilled pita was seasoned well and the staff are generous about refilling it!Seafood Orzotto: My favorite entree! They give a generous helping of shrimp, mussels, and clams, an extra bowl and mini forks for the shells. It tasted very fresh and was super filling. They also have a shrimp variant on the brunch menu.I would definitely recommend trying the spreads and seafood dishes here. Staff are always attentive and friendly."

Johanna B. "I love everything about Mazzat and have been patronizing this business regularly since my first review. It might also be safe to say that I tried almost (except red meat) everything on the menu.I had the pleasure of dining here recently and it was an exceptional experience. From the adorable ambience and great service to the excellent Mediterranean food--Mazzat is amazing and never disappoints.Happy hour runs until 7 PM with some great specials in place such as their delicious Aperol Spritz at $10. This was my selection and made very well. There's a nice variety of cocktails in addition to wine/beer.What I really like about Mazzat is the ability to share smaller plates, tapas style and go from there. We selected 3 appetizers: Chicken Cigars, Kibbeh, and Cauliflower. I didn't try the Kibbeh because it was lamb, but each appetizer had its own special side sauce.I highly recommend the Cigars--a guaranteed winner. These Cigars can be made with either chicken or lamb. Every time I dine in I can never pass them up.The Cauliflower was a delightful treat. Like the Cigars, lightly fried and a crowd pleaser. The florets (about 10 in total) with dipping sauce was great for sharing. We went on to select two mains--1. Grilled Chicken accompanied by fluffy Middle Eastern style rice and green beans. This dish was white and thigh meat flattened and charbroiled. Prepared very well, it's a popular pick at Mazzat. I am a huge fan of the rice!2. The other main was the Branzino which was very delicious and served whole. Here's a warning: the server recommended to order the fish whole, but there's plenty of bones. I am experienced eating whole fish but it can be scary for some individuals due to the bones. It's also scary for me at times. I recommend to order it filet style. The fish was accompanied by garlic/lemon potatoes and Green Beans Almondine. It was a first for me and very well executed. We enjoyed this ocean fresh pick very much. Recommend! Our selections of three appetizers and two mains was filling and very shareable. As we came close to the finish line, we couldn't pass up on dessert. Although they serve Tiramisu and Baklava among some others, we selected the traditional home made Kunafa, a special Middle Easter style dessert resembling a bird's nest (to me). It's a woven sweetened phyllo dough surrounded by fruit (trawberries or bananas) topped with vanilla ice cream and sprinkled with Pistachio nuts. I've never tasted anything quite so good. A must try.Mazzat is one of my all time favorite gems in the neighborhood. If you haven't tried it yet, make it a point to do so. With excellent food, great service and adorable atmosphere, it hits all the right notes. So solid. So good."

We chose to get it without steak knowing we would be getting the burger as well. You will not find mulukhia on many other menus around here. The kibbe b laban is another favorite with its mildly tangy and garlicky flavors. Among the desserts, the sfouf (turmeric cake) wins me over with its simple deliciousness. Anyways, decided to still come anyways but I will say that I'm a bit disappointed about the brunch. I will definitely come back and give it another shot because of the excellent reviews, but definitely for dinner this time.- Chicken Schnitzel - Was not impressed with this dish. The chicken was quite dry and flavorless. Wish they had some sauce for the chicken other than ketchup and mayonnaise which was more for the fries. I will say that the fries was quite good and I appreciated the cucumber/onion salad as well.- Poached Egg Khachapuri - This was definitely my more favorite dish out of the two. I actually really apprecaited the mushroom ragout on top which went well with the bread that was a bit thick and dense. The poached egg melting all over it was heavenly as well.- Complimentary Bread - +1 star for the variety of complimentary breads they had. Although none of them blew me out of the park - they had cornbread, chocolate croissant, and bread rolls - the variety was awesome and they both came with butter and strawberry jam.Overall, not sure if I would come back again for brunch, but definitely for dinner and especially restaurant week."
