"I am a proud meat eater. I accompanied my friend who's vegan for an impromptu late lunch. We were seated right away as walk ins. Service was attentive and pleasant. Everything was delicious and it wasn't first timeHaving a complete true vegan meal. I would highlyRecommend even if you aren't vegan. The bathroom was interesting with art written all over the walls. In a busy section of the city walking distance to everything ."
"My wife is from the area in Brooklyn and was craving Jewish food. We were visiting and went to see if it was as good as she remembered. We were not disappointed whatsoever. We ordered a ton to eat there and bring back to NJ. The cook/waiter greeted us and was very welcoming and friendly. The pickles and slaw they give at the start tasted excellent. We each ordered Dr. Browns sodas. For apps we had stuffed derma, corned beef & cabbage knish and chopped liver. All were delicious and made well and were served quickly. Yes, the service was excellent, kept table pre-bussed and server was patient and very nice! For entrees, wow man! I had the Gourmet Delight triple decker combo sandwich w tongue, corned beef and pastrami. It was divine! Others had pastrami sandwich and kosher Reuben (no cheese or Russian dressing), both enjoyed and took half to go. We also took home rainbow cookies, noodle pudding, and stuffed cabbage. Yeah, we let gluttony get us this time. Can't get food like that in Jersey! Looking forward to going back!"

"This place was open on thanksgiving! We were a party of 5 who came around 8 pm. We were able to eat in and got lucky with a table that sat us just fine. They were so friendly and also gave us a sample of pastrami. The pastrami was soft and very yummy. The sandwich was juicy and tasted good. Our favorite was the cholent! It was so hearty, had a big chunk of beef, and comforting. The yapchik was salty and a bit too dry. We added ketchup to cut the saltiness. Overall, cool spot and good experience."
"When I'm in Brooklyn, I miss those old diners we'd go to as a family for breakfast. A place where they're serving up comfort foods and you can always get a great cup of coffee. I experienced that nostalgic vibe at Gertie. Gertie has a cool vibe, WE'VE GOT BAGELS, BABKA + BOOZE. I never saw that slogan growing up at any diner on Flatbush avenue. Let's rock it Gertie!I was seated in a nice setting, lots of windows and light. It's early and one of these outrageous homemade bagel choices seems too heavy for me, I'm going with the Challah Bread French Toast. The Challah Bread FT was a perfect choice! The French Toast was total comfort breakfast food and the coffee served to me was a nice roast blend. I couldn't do the booze part but I'm keeping my options open.Gertie, it was a pleasure to have breakfast at your Jew-ish style diner."
"We loved this place. We sat in the outside enclosed area. We would have sat in the outside area but it was HOT, too hot to be sitting outside. We had the beet salad to start. Very tasty. We then had the arancini, which was also delicious. It is different though, there is a spice that they add that is different from usual. They inside of them arancini balls are yellow. Still very good. We had the mushroom pizza as well. Delicious. Service was excellent. Great dinner."
"we loveee sunflower!!! there tuna panini is amazing and the israeli salad .. fire!!!probably top 5 pesto dressings i've ever had to put the cherry on top!"
"We had a celebratory dinner at The Loft Steakhouse recently, and we loved it! The restaurant is actually much bigger than I expected. We were seated in The Library, the room at the back characterized by hundreds of wine bottles filling all walls. While all steakhouses give out "old men" vibes to me, The Loft had a pretty divers clientele that evening: young couples, old couples, couples on a date, families. For our dinner we started with the beef carpaccio, which is served with baby arugula, pickled beech mushroom, truffle vinaigrette, horseradish aioli. Tor our main course we shared the black angus rib eye (which was served sliced as per our request) with a side of spinach. The rib eye was perfectly cooked medium-rare, juicy, melt-in-your-mouth soft. We loved it, and at 26 oz it was certainly enough for 2.Wines by the glass are surprisingly affordable considering the overall high-end dining experience. The dessert menu is quite extensive, and there were several desserts we wanted to try. in the end, we got the peanut caramel brownie special with salted caramel, chocolate ganache, crunchy coating, and the cheesecake with cream topping and blueberry gel. They were both delicious and rich, and honestly one dessert would have been enough for the 2 of us. Furthermore, we were treated to a Le Donut complimentary dessert: Cinnamon sugar donuts, with cappuccino cream and vanilla spuma, this dessert is fantastic when eaten hot.Service was impeccable: attentive without being intrusive, the owner actually came to our table to greet us, and at the end of the dinner he brought over the complimentary Le Donut dessert. The food was delicious, we felt very welcomed and the staff treated us like family. What's there not to love?"
"When you go out to eat (and spend money) you expect good food and maybe a little bit of an experience. Last night we got way more than that, and that is precisely why T-Fusion is my favorite restaurant. Period. I've been to them all. This is the best. I emailed the manager here about a birthday promotion they ran on their website - provide your email address and your birthday and receive a promotion. Unfortunately, I never received the promotion. I wrote that I've been here about twice in the past couple months (actually 8 times over the past two years!). So, I emailed about why I didn't get the promotion. Within an hour, she replied: free drinks and dessert. Whoa! Amazing! Shorty after we arrived, the owner introduced herself. She was very nice. A few minutes later she brought Executive Chef Daniel Rivera. We spoke about bringing back the flour less chocolate cake, which surprisingly disappeared from this past year's menu (it was the best cake I've EVER tried - Passover or no). The chef said, "sure, I can bring it back. No problem"!We also spoke about the meat board - an appetizer in the form of various meats on a wooden board. He told us he changed the board to home grown and in-house made items only (some of the items on the old voard were brought in). Very nice talking to the chef. Nice guy!So we ordered the meat board, bourbon ribs, chicken tenders, and a cowboy steak. Well the meat board has changed! It has bone marrow, steak tartare, three small meat dishes (kalbasa was one), and liver. It also has a home-grown delicious fog dip and mustard. The chef told me he personally grew the figs over the summer. Pretty cool. I think this new meat board was geared at people who like more exotic meat dishes. I don't. The old board had beef bacon and sausages and other delicious stuff the younger generation likes. I prefer the old board, but if you like steak tartare and the other stuff, go for this board. Maybe they can have both options? The bourbon ribs were able to be eaten with a spoon! I've never had such tasty ribs. I told the waiter to bring out the three steak sauces with the ribs. These three sauces are amazing, by the way.The cowboy steak was cooked perfectly. I got the waiter to bring out the sauces again. I pour the entire contents of all three onto my steak. Delicious! Seriously! Try it!For dessert, we had a tea and churros. The waiters sang happy birthday and then brought an instant Polaroid camera and took a picture of us. Such a nice touch. Wife was floored! This place makes amazing churros! Chocolate sause and strawberry puree. My wife liked this puree better than a tangy yellow puree they served with the churros a couple of months ago. I've experienced great service (Reserve Cut and Five-Fifty). But then there's what I call T-service (T-Fusion service). Drinks never reached the bottom. Plenty of servers. Servers walking around checking on their tables, but not getting in the way of customers (an art, by the way). Great waiters who clean the table before dessert and pack your stuff up and hand it to you at the end of the meal as opposed to in middle of dessert. Amazing valet. Nicest owner who comped our wine, tea, and dessert. Generous portions. This is my go to restaurant. I have no reason to go any where else. Everything is here! T you again!"
"I have been here on several occasions and I've always found the brisket and ribs to be very good. It is really flavorful and amazing! Other items on their menu tend to fluctuate in terms of how good they are. For example, their side of beans with burnt ends used to be one of my favorites here - really smoky and hearty, however, when I got this dish yesterday, it was very watery and tasted more like a bean soup. Their cornbread is generally not very good - not flavorful and hard. The fried oreos tend to be really good - but only if you get them fresh, not for delivery/takeout. The actual restaurant is fairly small (but does have a BBQ vibe) and service can be somewhat slow, so if you are planning on taking out I would highly recommend ordering in advance. One thing that's a little frustrating is they only allow you to order meats in .5 lbs servings, which is not only a lot of food, but is very expensive at this place. All in all, I would recommend this restaurant for the brisket and ribs but be prepared to spend a lot of money."

The lunch special for 12 dollars was well worth my money. Though I am a meat eater this vegan place satisfied me. I enjoyed the black pepper seitan and the dish was flavorful. The seitan was interesting because it felt more like a patty where the strands of fiber were smaller, and it was easy to chew but still had the chewy texture that I love with seitan. My friend who ordered the teriyaki seitan had a longer grain one, but I'm not sure if this was just case by case or how it is (It might relate to the way it was sliced) I was confused because I read that the dish came with white rice and chinese broccoli, but I received multigrain rice and bok choy. I did not complain because it tasted good regardless. However after seeing the pictures on yelp I realized I may have gotten the wrong order.

We barely have any old school kosher deli's anymore, especially in south Brooklyn. This place is still decent.

A Brooklyn, and perhaps national, treasure. If you go, go early, and be sure to hit the OG vs the Manhattan locale. Bring a healthy appetite and a full wallet--the kosher food don't run cheap.

Gertie is so cute and if you have all the time in the world, I'd recommend ordering for here to enjoy the ambiance, it truly does feel like an old school Jewish diner, which can feel rare to stumble upon. I ordered the Lox Smith on An Onion Bialy consisting of: Acme LoxPickled BeetsDill-y CukesPlain SchmearLemon TahiniHard Boiled EggTheir menu is impressive and I'd have probably ordered the Yenta if it were not for the lox. The Lox Smith was very filling for breakfast, the pickled cucumbers were nicely seasoned although I feel like the egg could've been less hard boiled and more jammy.

What an incredible meal! We we're so lucky that the weather was rainy today as we were able to snag a great table in the air conditioned "street tables" on 49th Street without a reservation. I totally suggest you make one if you want to be seated. Everything we ordered was so fresh and with quality ingredients. You can tell there has been a lot of thought and love put into this food experience and menu. The Lasagna was the highlight of our meal and will be the reason we return. It tasted like we were in Italy, right in Midtown Manhattan !Jelena was our server and she provided excellent service along with some great suggestions. The Mushroom Pizza was also very good, and we even used it to soak up some of the extra sauce left from the lasagna--- can't waste any of that ! The cheesecake for dessert was very good, and oh so light and fluffy! We will definitely be back. YUM!!!

Sunflower Cafe has been offering fresh, healthy, kosher dishes to the community for over 20 years. They serve mostly Middle Eastern inspired cuisine and none of the dishes offered contain any meat products,it's mostly garden fresh local produce, dairy products, pasta and wild caught fish. I've been there on a few different occasions and always liked the nice friendly staff, warm inviting atmosphere and of course delicious & nutritious food. Today we opted for a light lunch by ordering extremely popular Tomato Soup with melted cheese and it was a great pick for a very chilly early March afternoon-it tasted incredibly fresh like it was just cooked, with a delectable combination of different flavors, a bit savory, slightly sweet, a little tangy, perfectly seasoned and it had a huge dollop of yummy melted cheese inside which produced a TikTok worthy cheese pull that was definitely an added bonus for me. We also ordered a Chef's salad-Garden vegetables, artichoke, hard-boiled eggs, sweet corn, olives topped with feta cheese, mozzarella and cheddar. We added a side of tuna fish and avocado to it and it turned out to be a very largely sized, probably big enough for 3 people, full of fresh crispy veggies, savory olives, sweet corn, sliced hard boiled eggs, all of which was amazingly well complimented by the scrumptious house-made thousand islands dressing and topped with a mix of 3 different cheeses. I am not a big fan of salads but this one I enjoyed tremendously and would certainly order again. Lastly we ordered a side dish of truffle fries and once again were impressed by its incredible taste, abundance of different seasonings which included graded Parmagiano-Reggiano, garlic, parsley and of course very aromatic truffle oil. Fries were so warm, crispy and finger licking good, we couldn't stop eating it, unquestionably made my list of 10 Best Truffles Fries in the city. Prices are a bit on a higher side, but it's understandable considering its a certified kosher restaurant, premium quality of ingredients and huge portion sizes. All in all-very satisfying lunching experience, great place, vast menu, awesome food and service. Definitely recommend to visit or order online delivery asap.

The food was extremely tasty. We chose this place specifically because carpaccio was on the menu. It was nice to have a selection for those that wanted steak and some sushi options. A fine dining steakhouse restaurant and the menu has a good selection of different types of dishes that are not steak. The (c)hummus was very fantastic. We really enjoyed this place.

I recently visited the restaurant for a company holiday party and had a large party of around 18 people. The staff was extremely attentive and was very friendly. The food was very excellent all around. Everything came on time and nothing was cold. We had a bunch of delicious appetizers and the steak for the main dish was cooked perfect and was great. I can honestly say that if you have a chance to dine here you will not be disappointed! I will be coming back again!

"Super polite staff, very well mannered and there was an older gentleman who kept trying to make my friend and I laugh - he was so nice. The food is pretty good, I highly recommend the mushroom ravioli in cream sauce and the mushroom drops. I don't think the sushi is the strongpoint here and perhaps should be removed off the menu because it seems a bit out of place. The french onion soup was nice but I needed to add salt. And the cappuccino cheesecake was really soft and delectable. It's completely kosher so if you have a friend who is very strict with that, this is the place to take them to."
"Greeting- NoVibe- another dirty kosher placeParking- good luckPrice- $12 and upBR- only one airplane sized unitService- slowish. Typical rude Israeli kosher orthodox attitudesFoodThe schnitzli was faschizzili! Huge hero loaded with thin fried chicken cutlets tomatoes lettuce taw or sauteed onions and choice of many sauces. An excellent hero.WIGB? Yes"
"So, we were there for a date, it was a packed house which wasn't so bad because the place still had a great energy with an othenthic feeling. But, even tho the eviroment was nice there were some issues Food menue was a bit pricey, we ended up paying close to $100 dollar and we didn't order the most expansive items on the manue or any alcohol. After seeing the price we were expecting for a really great food & service but the waitresses were busy and confused, we had to remind them a few times what we ordered. After 40 min + reminder we got our food wich was a little bit dry, and not worth the price that we paid.I guess we will try again because there is not that many othentic israeli steackhouses in the area. Hopfully having a better experience next time...."
"I was very pleased with my meal here and was impressed with the quality of the food. We ordered the Thai Special Steak first. The string beans were cooked to perfection and had the perfect amount of crunch. The steak was also very good, not too chewy. We also ordered the beef and broccoli. The sauce was very flavorful and it also came with a good amount of beef in it which I was happy about. Sometimes when I go to other places and order this dish, it is mostly broccoli and not enough meat. This was not the case here. Lastly, we got the chicken udon soup. The broth was flavorful and had delicious and crunchy veggies in it like sugar snap peas, water chestnuts, bean sprouts, carrots, baby corn, etc. There was a good amount of chicken too. My only complaints with this experience were there were barely any udon noodles in the soup and we were very late with getting our rice. We didn't get our rice until we were more than halfway through the meal. Other than these two small factors, I was pleased with this meal."
"Joseph dream Burger is a great place they have awesome sandwiches they're not cheap with their meat or chicken in their sandwiches, I love their french fries if you like burgers try their premier burger. Ultimately all all the meat are high quality and very fresh and their location is very modern I highly recommend!"
"Very decent place. Quick service, as things are mostly pre-made...which means not too hot, unfortunately. Breaded chicken sandwich was pretty good, though I couldn't really taste the fried onions and bacon bits. Bun wasn't toasted, as requested. Chili is only $2, but is mediocre - blandly spiced, if at all! My wife enjoyed her salad with hamburger on top (which they forgot to put on top initially), but it was served in a paper container (like how they serve french fries). People who order salads won't re-order salads if they're in a paper container. Serve your salads in plastic containers (yea I know - they're more expensive). I'd return, but the food needs to be hot, and the order has gotta be gotten correct the first time. I hate going back and cutting the line just to get my wife's order correct. Super awkward, and not the reason why I pay for someone else to make my food. These are food-industry basics!"
"Are you a closet pigs in a blanket fiend? I am. Maybe not so closeted. Enter, Mechy's Franks in Blanks- kind of pricey but so so good. This place has a huge selection of prepared goods. Loved their olive tapenade."
"Just like their location in Flatbush, the sandwiches are good and they have a great choice of sauces. I always buy the Spanish shnitzel on a baguette. The chicken always tastes fresh, and the salad enhances the sandwiches flavor. Ask them to recommend sauces that go with YOUR sandwich. Will definitely return."
"Oh my God, Upside Now! was simply epic. Nice, welcoming and reasonably priced. You can tell these guys use high quality ingredients. Crew is incredibly polite and can help you with everything. Definitely a place to try out."
"I found this place for delivery by chance and the food was really really good. So tonight we decided to stop by. The ambiance of this place is rustic fast food and the service was very quick and friendly. The food was absolutely delicious. The flavors are bursting in a way you wouldn't expect from a dish like dirty fries. Covered with a truffle mayo, they have pickles, tiny pastrami chunks and avocado, the dirty fries are so tasty, it's a really great combination. The burger I had was also incredible, with a nice large patty, avocado, fake bacon (it's a kosher place) and of course the LTP... it was so large I couldn't even bite it fully. Everything was very fresh and very large portions. Don't order a Chinese sesame chicken and the dirty fries, unless you have more than enough room in your stomach. I will definitely be eating here again."
"My friend wanted hummus and falafel to go so I decided to try this place since it was nearby. Overall, food was OK. My friend wasn't too crazy about the hummus. She said it was a bit too oily and runny. The falafels were accetable though. Place was pretty big for a takeout place with a decent amount of seating."
"This is a popular vegetarian place in New York City's Chinatown and I always wanted to give it a try. You can find most of the chinese dishes here with the authentic tastes and textures like other non-vegetarian Chinese restaurants in Chinatown. The dishes are a bit saltier than I like but you can request less salt when you place the order. So if you are strictly vegan vegetarian, you can give this place a try when you visit Chinatown in NYC."
