Meng Z. "One of the top notch and delicious Chinese / Szechuan spots! We ordered: -jellyfish salad: super refreshing and flavorful. -braised tofu with crab meat: very delicious and it tasted like salted egg was added to it which really enhances the flavor -spicy cumin lamb: kind of remind me of the lamb skewers and it's a nice balance of meat and veggies that consist of onions and cilantro-white style chungking braised fish stew: my favorite dish and practically fished the entire dish including the soup. The fish fillets were tender and the soup itself is flavorful and not crazy spicy which makes it really enjoyable. Overall service is quick and attentive. Great ambiance for both small and large groups."

Amanda W. "Was in the Gramercy area and found this dim sum spot, modern and clean right on 23rd street. I saw great yelp reviews and thought to give it a try! Was a bit nervous as this was not in prime Chinatown or Flushing area so I wasn't sure how authentic it would be. However this completely exceeded my expectations! I ordered an array of dim sum to share, chicken feet, pork buns, shrimp rice rolls, eggplant wrapped shrimp, and steamed dumplings. All of the flavors completely exceeded my hesitation. They were all well prepared and the dumplings and chicken feet came in a little bamboo steamer! It was definitely on par if not slightly better than Chinatown spots! Plus this was a clean and minus all the commotion and noise of Chinatown! So definitely a plus! Also this is a self serve place you place an order on a computer and go up front to pay. Then wait a few minutes for your food. It is very much a self serve spot. Which I was totally fine with. Overall can't wait to return! Where I don't have to schlep all the way downtown to Chinatown or cross borough to flushing for some delicious dim sum!"

The French fries were good but also could've gone without them. For entrees we ordered the prawns (very tasty but they come in their shell so I definitely avoided the struggle there). We also ordered the noodles & beef & green pepper dish which were delicious! Definitely recommend!"

Michelle T. "It's been a few years since my last review, so I figured I'd write an update. I've been going to Ping's for years now and it is my go-to when I take dim sum newbies to Chinatown. In fact, I just took my sister-in-law and her family in November and my brother-in-law this month. I've never had an issue getting a table and they're always so nice here. They have menus with pictures of all the dishes, so even if you don't speak a lick of Chinese, you're going to be fine. The waiters all speak enough English to help anyone out if you're unsure about a dish. I had some dietary restrictions on my last visit - no shrimp or meat - and one of the waiters gave excellent veggie recommendations that the meat eaters at the table were happy with. All the dishes were fantastic. No complaints whatsoever. For 4 people, the bill was about $90 plus tip, which is a steal."

Albert H. "I was finally able to try out this New York City institution for Cantonese cuisine and it surely did not disappoint. My favorites are the suckling pig, king crab served three ways (steamed, fried, fried rice), and garlic chicken. The crab is delicious however just be prepared to spend money as it is not cheap. The suckling pig is some of the best I've had in New York. Protip is that you don't need to order a whole pig, you can get a small portion of off the a la carte menu. I recommend making a reservation for any peak-time dining as the place gets full of parties including a lot of birthday celebrations. The service is good, better than the standard for Chinatown. I recommend coming with a large party to try out and share more dishes off the menu."

I didn't think we were going to find delicious dumplings like this! The pan fried baos are bursting with hot soup, the scallion pancakes were so crispy and flakey, and the sautéed string beans were so flavorful. Everything was just hit after hit after hit! Kate F. "Delicious, classic dim sum in the heart of Chinatown in NYC.Arrived around 10:30AM on a Sunday morning with our group of four and had to maneuver our way through a throng of people to the gentleman giving out numbers before joining the crowd ourselves --- be prepared to wait shoulder to shoulder with the other patrons for your number to be called. The numbers are not necessarily called in precise numeric order due to the sizes of the various parties compared to the table availability, so be ready for your number at any time. All in all, we waited about 30-40 min before being seated. We were grateful to be directed to a table toward the back --- some of the tables toward the front are surrounded by the crowds waiting to be seated. The operation moves quickly, so we arrived at our table as it was still being cleaned and prepped for us... but before we could blink, we were seated with our fresh pot of tea and surrounded by our first half dozen plates. All three of my dining partners were new to the classic dim sum, so I really appreciated that there was a picture menu on each table to allow us all to better understand what we were selecting. The food was incredible, especially the classic har gow and salty egg custard buns. We also tried the red rice rolls for the first time and all agreed it was a highlight. There really wasn't anything we didn't like. When all was said and done, the four of us ate to our hearts' content for a grand total around $75 --- absolutely can't beat it for the quality and quantity of food."

Danesh I. "Solid experience with excellent food, superb service, and great ambience. Not a single issue for our group and our server was exceptionally helpful and guided us towards some great selections and just the right amount of dishes. The staff as a whole were very professional and we had a very good visit from beginning to end.The food here is really great and considering location, is actually a good value for what you pay. The food is flavorful and most of the dishes pack a great punch in terms of taste from the very first bite. The General Tso's chicken was my favorite dish full of delight and unlike any other version of the dish I've tried anywhere: great texture, full of greens, not too greasy, and complemented perfectly with a side of white rice. The shrimp toast is dangerously good and I'd definitely make sure to order this dish as a starter on every visit. The soup dumplings were a solid order, as were the cold sesame noodles, which were a big hit with the table. The one dish that I don't think I'd order again was the crispy garlic chicken, which I was most excited to try but found a bit dry and lacking in flavor compared to the rest of our dishes.Overall, a really great dining experience, especially for a family style dining group outing. I loved the charm of the space, which was subtle and intimate. The staff were very accommodating and made the experience all that more pleasant. One of the few dining experiences in Williamsburg that would draw me back in regularly and is worth the price."

This place has really good dim sum. I love the black bean and garlic steamed spare ribs from this place. They are very spicy and aromatic. Steamed black bean beef tripe here is good too with the sponginess of the beef stomach with a lot of sauce. The one thing I wish when I go to this place is that the wait time is very long and when there is a table, you have to share it with other guests since they only have large round tables that seat 10 people. We got here for a weekday dinner and we were able to get a table quickly after placing our order.I ordered the Roast Duck Noodle Soup and it was quite good. I liked the rich broth paired with the Hong Kong style noodles. The duck also had the subtle sweetness to it although some parts were not super tender. I didn't care much for the vegetables in the dish. It was a solid noodle soup.Overall, not a bad eat at all especially if you're in the area. Dim sum: xiao long bao, har gow, and shumai. Everything was delicious! My only complaint is that dim sum should not be this expensive, but (1) it's Brooklyn, and (2) the super cozy interior and dining experience is all a part of that price tag.Sides/mains: chili wonton, dan dan noodle, tomato curry. The standouts for me were the dan dan noodles and tomato curry. The noodles had a great texture and were packed with so much savory flavor. The tomato curry was also so flavorful, yet light, and I loved the addition of tofu and enoki mushrooms. Both of those textures went so well with the curry. Drinks: peach tea cocktails. So delicious! Whenever I get a "tea" based cocktail, I can almost never taste the tea, but this cocktail was deliciously tea-forward! It was so smooth and refreshing, and the perfect amount of sweet. They also have a great HH deal on drinks :)"

When you enter Go Believe, on the right side there are freezers that have a variety of frozen items to choose from such as different types of dumplings and buns. For people that would want to prepare these types of items at home, this is a great place to stock up on them! Also, if you do not see an item in the large tall freezers, make sure you also check the chest freezers next to them, as they will also have a bunch of frozen items inside.I specifically look to get dumplings, which when I prepare them at home are delicious! The ones I get come in bags of 50 dumplings. The dumpling skins are made well and hold up to being frozen and subsequently prepared. The type of dumplings I like to get are the chicken & mushroom and pork & chive. Finally, if possible, look to pay with cash as a discount would apply there!
