"This Hong Kongnese spot is worth the visit for an elevated simple food experience. It reminds me of cha cha tang from awhile ago but the food is very good and worth the price. Service is fast and it definitely gives the small cafe/ small bites place ambiance however they have big plates too haha."
"Top tier fried pork dumplings. For $5 you get 10 fresh and flavorful dumplings. The chili oil and dumpling sauce take them to a new level. It's a small place with only a few tables, but everything comes out quick. We got ours to go, walked almost a mile and they were still warm when we sat down to enjoy them. Highly recommend!"

This sophisticated dish is one of our signature menu items. Our ducks are prepared in advance by initially pumping in dry, cold air to stretch and loosen the skin; with boiling water repeatedly basted over, then carefully dried and rubbed with maltose before being slow roasted in a cylindrical oven for hours, until the meat is tender and the skin is crispy.

"Great Chinese restaurant right off Mott St. (20 yards east)The Principal of the New York Chinese School suggested D.G.B. When I asked for her "go-to" restaurant. She was spot on. Great 小豹 Xiǎolóng Bāo - soup dumplings - superior to another restaurant on Mott we usually went to. Fried Pork Dumplings, Scallion Pancakes (yum), Wonton Soup, Spring Rolls, Sesame Chicken & Chicken Lo Mein. Not a complaint, but a heads up, if you get an entrée, make sure you ask for white rice or brown rice because it doesn't come along with the entrée Deluxe Green Bo is our new go to Chinese restaurant in Chinatown, New York with our daughter who was originally born in China."
"After 3-years, I came to this place to see if it was just as good as it was before. And to no surprise. I would still suggest this place for a one-of-a-kind experience, maybe I'm biased because I'm Portuguese ;-) Try the house noodles, the skirt steak, the dumplings and greens - salad. All amazing flavors.Great for a first date - for all those looking for a bit more on the romantic side too. Dark and mysterious feel."
"Spice Symphony has been a fascinating enigma for me in my dozen plus years living in their delivery zone!Their food is really good! Very good! Exceptionally good! But I've never seen a restaurant undermine the high quality of its food with pedestrian and almost aggressively indifferent service the way Spice Symphony does. Whether you dine in or order from them. And I hope Spice Symphony takes this as constructive criticism.Your service and general attention to detail in delivery is atrociously and arrogantly bad compared to your delicious food.If your attitude to customer service weren't so stubbornly lazy and arrogant, you'd have a Michelin star or two by now.But even now, I have to call and beg to make sure you don't forget to include something in my order. I love your food and I hope you realize one day just how bad your service is."
"The noodles here are the absolute best! It's not a large space but doesn't feel crowded or noisy. The tables are mostly four tops with only one large table that I noticed (I think it seats 8?) so if you have a larger party, you might want to call ahead. I recommend the shrimp fried noodles or the chicken katsu ramen, both dishes are phenomenal. The servers are very nice, and happy to accommodate small changes to the menu items and various spice levels."
"Good food for the priceFast service, lots of dumpling off the beaten path but you can grab them and go eat in the park next door. Great ambiance.Cash only"
"I can only speak from my experience. My server & host were both nice . Our server gave us insight on our choices on food. The Peking duck was perfectly cooked. And the space was fine. This is Time Square. A tourist area. Prices were reasonable considering the location. If individuals are looking for " authentic " Chinese food... jump on the train and head to Chinatown or get on a plane and go to China. Stop complaining. Everything was fine."
"FOOD AMAZING!!! BEING RUSHED OUT, NOT SO MUCH!The food was FANTASTIC! Loved the quality and reasonably priced appetizers and starters. Some of the entrees are overpriced. My firmed and I stuck to apps and rice and our bill was around $115. More details later. The mezcal drink was a standout! The reason for not giving 5 stars is that we were rushed out of our table. Asked 3 times if we were ready to pay by three different people after the checkbook had been on our table for only 10 minutes. We arrived at 5:35 and were being rushed out by 7:10 once we finished desert. This is not a good way to end with customers. One woman in black who looked like the manger started removing things from our table telling us to have a good night after we made our payment with the woman in a white top and beige pants. The same woman in white advised us that there was a speakeasy that she could escort us to when we were ready. (We had to use the restroom after getting up so urgently.) I was ready to give this place 5 stars for food and the service throughout the dinner, but I will be giving 4 stars due to the poorly rushed exit. It makes guests feel unwelcome especially after such a great meal. It's very disappointing. I understand there is a time limit per table especially on a Friday night but we were not over this limit and even if we were getting close to the limit, a proper way of executing getting our table is to offer a courtesy reminder at least 15 minutes before you want to give our table away. Menu Highlights:Drink: Five Points SourFood: Crispy Eggplant, Berkshire Pork, shrimp and garlic dumplings, and Johnny fried Rice. Desert: Creme Brûlée TartYou can't go wrong selecting these items unless you don't eat pork. My faves were the eggplant, rice and pork. So good and flavorful. Loved the bed of spinach greens that the pork was on top of. I would definitely come back here. Their speakeasy below is cute too. Get there early though because it's not that big and not many seats for the crowd that comes in after 8."
"A visit to NYC is never complete without a trip to Chinatown for Peking duck. A quick search and not wanting to wait online for ever we opted to try Hwa Yuan. We decided to visit early in the afternoon and we were pleasantly surprised that the restaurant was clean, nicely decorated and we actually did not need to make a reservation even though we were a total of 8 people. We ordered a couple of appetizers, scallion pancakes, cold sesame noodles and some of the best crispy beef strips I have ever had. I could easily eat a plate full with some steamed rice. But soon after the ducks appeared with handmade pancakes, hoisin sauce and garnishes. Nicely carved at the table by expert waiters. Flavor and tenderness of the duck was amazing. Everyone really enjoyed it along with the sides. Dry sautéed string beans with pork, snow peas sprouts and vegetable fried rice. All of which were a perfect accompaniment to the duck. I strongly recommend this place. A clean and attentive restaurant in Chinatown with very good food."
"I found out about Ho Foods because I was craving Taiwan breakfast with Yo tiao and fan tuan and Ho Foods definitely hit the spot! However the wait for this place, when we arrived was quoting 100+ minutes! Over an hour and a half. I held my tongue and put us on the wait list. We then took a stroll around St. Marks and returned about 40 minutes. We were then told we still have some ways away (about 9 tables ahead). Still I wanted to wait! Eventually at exactly 60 minutes (1 hour) we finally got our table! Tip is to return and wait outside, I think I was pestering the host/server a lot about giving us a table! But thankfully he gave us one quickly! We order all of the specials, the savory soy milk bowl, yo tiao, fan tuan, and the red beef wide noodles soup. My favorite was definitely the fan tuan, it had a crunchy yo tiao in the middle and there was more stuffing than rice (which I was so thrilled to see). I have had other fan tuans where there would be over 70% rice. The yo tiao is my second favorite followed by the savory soy milk. The soy milk actually had a thick consistency, which is different than other savory soy milk I've had. However, I really enjoyed it. My least favorite was the beef wide noodles soup, which we ended up take half home. It had a lot of noddles and the soup was on the salty side. Overall, really love the breakfast options, the yo tiao, fan tuan are the best! Would really hope Ho Foods would expand their menu and cover more Taiwan options."
"Great rice noodles here of various fillings that are tasty and fresh. They also have some really good sponge cakes for super cheap. No indoor seating so to-go only, but perfect meal to eat at the park across the street!"

First of all, the service was great. We got seated pretty quickly and the staff was transparent about their kitchen closing. But the food was so underwhelming. We started our meal with the truffle fries. They were hot and fresh. But I thought they can use a bit more salt and they can have a bit more of a crunch when I bit into it. We got the shark fin soup next. It was ok, but required a bit of heat. I was expecting a shark fin meat in the soup for what ever reason. Lastly, we got the xo noodles. This was the most underwhelming. Although the pork was surprisingly soft, the whole dish was dry but somehow greasy. It was disappointing.

After a lackluster stop at the nearby Shu Jiao Fu Zhou (SJFZ), we landed here for some hand pulled noodles. Ironically this place operates just like SJFZ: you order at the counter at the far end of the space, then you eat your food at one of the communal tables. Now, this place has fewer tables and is even more crammed. There is no trash can; you have to leave your trash on the table and someone will come and put them away. Your food will be brought to your table once your order number is called. So better service than SJFZ. Also, this place is cozier and less dumpy than SJFZ and comes with better amenities - e.g. stock napkins at each table. We ordered Hand Pull Noodle w Soy Bean Paste (zhà jiàng miàn, 炸醬面 $6.95). The texture of the noodle was excellent, but the meat sauce was just salty without any depth in taste. We were very disappointed with the dish. I can't help but imagine their other dish that I wanted to try, Stewed Pork Taiwan Style w Rice, would fare similarly below par. Another featured offering, the Pork House Bao (commonly known as Gua Bao, $8.95 for 3) were pathetically tiny.We most likely won't be back.

Great Chinatown spot! They have something for everyone. Large menu. We got the famous hot and spicy wontons which were mouthwateringly good, still thinking about them! The mains were also worth trying. The Lo mein noodles were thick and chewy, the sauce was perfect savory flavor. The general tso chicken was crispy, the sauce was a perfect spicy level, and the chicken was juicy. This location is cash only but they also do Venmo which was really convenient The staff was quick and accommodating. I loved the pitcher of water on the table, cute and easy when you want a refill. The food was exactly what we were craving and we will definitely be back.

Adorable ambiance, and the food is so flavorful!!! 10/10 recommend. Staying at the Roxy Hotel down the street and found this based on the reviews and they are correct, it's the perfect little gem! Great food, service and ambiance all around!

This place is a hidden gem! The lunch special is outrageous. I posted the menu to this review - there are so many options for everyone and it is so well priced! ALL YOU CAN EAT INDIAN FOOD for less than $20 in Manhattan?? I'm honestly shocked this isn't on every lunch deal website ever. Great laid back ambiance and very kind and attentive staff. Fast service. No complaints at all.

Lovely dimly-lit spot with 9 tables for 4+ in the front and a counter bar. Wait staff friendly and willing to offer suggestions for my first visit, openly advising that some items were an additional charge. The broth was delicious and mild. A subtle flavor. The eggs were exquisite with a lovely aftertaste that blended perfectly with the broth. I was less sold on the panko-crusted chicken. The breadcrumbs were yummy in the broth but I wondered about the chicken. Few white meat pieces and more dark or pressed chicken pieces. That said, I'd come back for the broth and the refreshing and surprisingly spicy - just enough- cucumber dish.

I made an order for delivery through Uber Eats late on a Sunday night and food was delivered fresh and still warm within about 30-45 minutes. I ordered the sesame chicken and it came exactly as expected and tasted great, though I do feel they could have packed a bit more into the bowl. The chicken came with a side of white rice, though I wish there would have been a brown rice option, the white rice was really light and fluffy! I'll definitely order from here again and looking forward to trying some more dishes!

"If you are looking for affordable noodles soup in Manhattan, you should check out Dun Huang . This spot is famous for its authentic Chinese Northwestern cuisine.Their noodles are handmade and hand-pulled to perfection. We tried their signature Lanzhou beef noodles and it was very good. The broth was rich and aromatic , the beef was so tender. The noodles had the perfect chewy texture that only comes from being freshly made. Also must try is their sweet and sour short ribs . The balance of sweet and tangy flavors left us craving more.Whether you are looking for a quick bite or leisurely meal, this spot has you covered. The service is quick and efficient, making it ideal spot for a lunch break or a quick dinner after work.We ordered :-Signature Lanzhou Beef Noodles-Boiled Fish-Zha Jiang Noodles-Kelp salad-Lamb Chinese hamburger-Sweet and sour short ribsFollow @spinx17 for more NYC food adventures!"
"This place was the perfect hole in the wall spot for a quick bite. My friend brought me here and told me this was his childhood restaurant and that he came here everyday after school just for this chicken and rice. Definitely did not disappoint, I can honestly say that this was the best thing I ate in new York during my stay. Even though it may look very simple but it was definitely packed with flavor. You have to add the egg. When I entered I was greeted immediately and seated right away. We ordered promptly and the food came right out. I swear I was in and out in less than 20 minutes."
"Amazing little noodle factory! My personal fave is the knife peeled but my family has loved every variation. Have to get the cucumber salad too. Duck is on the bone and so not my favorite, but a good flavor nonetheless. We've been here about 10x and each time is delicious"
"Fish balls... the hot dog of Chinese cuisine. No one knows exactly what part of the fish becomes the ball, yet no one cares (because they are tasty). This restaurant was voted Top 100 Chinese restaurants in the United States (specifically ranked #5 as of 1/29/25) and I can easily see why.The inside of the restaurant is decorated with photos of YouTube celebrities, such as Xiaomanyc - my mom sends me videos of that guy once per week to shame me (yeah, I know my Chinese sucks, but the positive thing is you can easily order in English or Chinese or the universal language of pointing with grunts). No frills restaurant with exactly 4 chairs, this restaurant is small, but mighty. They're known for their Curry Fish Balls with Fish Noodles (A1) and it's served with a combination of hoisin sauce, soy sauce, peanut sauce, and hot sauce (sriracha). I'm allergic to peanuts so I omitted the peanut sauce to avoid going into anaphylactic shock in the middle of Chinatown.Orders are available in large (1 quart container aka 32 ounces), medium (1/2 quart or 16 ounces), and small (1/4 quart or 8 ounces). Curry flavor is tasty and not too overpowering. The rolled rice noodles (cheung fun) are the star of the show - the perfect vehicle to absorb all the delicious umami flavors - it's like eating scrumptious, fluffy clouds. Those fluffy clouds seem to expand inside your stomach - they are very filling. I don't know of many places in New York City that can feed an entire family of 3 for $26, but this is one of them!"
"Service was fast and the food was good. Didn't have too much of an interaction with the employee and the small interaction I did have was when I placed my order. We didn't get to dine in as we were done for the day and just wanted to get back to our hotel. Both our orders were good. We really enjoyed the chicken fried rice as it was flavorful and had plenty pieces of chicken in it. The pad thai was sufficient for two and it was ok as it lacked flavor. We poured soy sauce on it and it tasted a lot better. Prices were a bit steep but hey its NYC."
"Best Chinese food in Chinatown...been there for banquet parties and the food's been great, esp. their Peking duck; try their fish specialties and other chef specials. Manager Johnny is very friendly and awesome, and very accommodating. Great prices too. However it is cash only and closed on Sundays, so go to the ATM beforehand. Highly recommend."
"Good beef noodle soup. Good portions. Great soup. Tasty beef. Lamb rice noodle also very impressiveJust enough spice it. Affordable price."
"Let me preface with this was a treat for me.A thank you which did not require a return. A Foodie does not say no to a meal. The opening reservation and we were led to the back. The space is spacious. There was music but it did not drown out our conversation. We ordered a multitude of appetizers and shrimp fried rice to round it out. Everything was delicious.Love the name and banner; Sei Less, Do more."
"A friend introduced me to this place years ago and it's been my favorite Chinese-Korean restaurant to go to. So underrated and easy to miss spot. I mainly come here for their jjajangmyeon (N2. noodles with brown sauce). It's my favorite here and as of right now, better than any spot in the town area specifically this dish. Noodles are perfectly chewy and combined with the fresh aroma of the sauce, filled with sweet onions and baby chunks of meat- it's hard to find any fault with it! Maybe except that if you didn't know what it was, it's not exactly visually appealing. But taste wise... mmmmm!! I've passed the word along to other friends and coworkers and they always ask to come back here with me. "When's our next Noods date?" Haha Besides the jjajangmyeon, I also recommend their Spicy Seafood soup! It's not terribly spicy- just a tiny kick to your taste buds. The soup tastes especially good on a cold winter day. When I'm not sure what I'm in the mood for, I usually go for their N1, which is a combination of the jjajangmyeon and their Spicy seafood soup. A bowl split down the middle so you have half portion of each. Best of both worlds! Also have had their fried pork dumplings. They're very oily but if you can overlook that, they're crispy yet juicy on the inside and filled with lots of meaty goodness. Also comes with a sweet dipping sauce. I don't get this every time but when I do- definitely no regrets. Their kimchi is a hit or miss. Somehow not always consistent. But their yellow pickled radish tastes good especially with the jjajangmyeon. Every time I come here, the staff are always nice and welcomes you at the door. I've always been seated right away and service has always been excellent."
"Great lunch option. They have a limited selection, but what they do, they do well. The staff is lovely, but the inside isn't meant for sitting down. Grab your food, go back to your desk kind of feel.I loved the dumplings, but I was pretty bummed when I watched them take a scallion pancake and reheat it in a toaster oven. At least they didn't reheat it in the microwave!Would still go back."
"This place saved the day Christmas Eve when my brother decided to cancel our Christmas plans the morning of. The place was packed that day but luckily we managed to snag a table. They were a bit overwhelmed and understaffed so we made sure to make our ordering quick and easy. Everything we order was worth it. The General Tso's chicken and Sweet and Sour pork are definitely worth trying. Staff was kind. Food came out hot and quickly. Definitely swing by if ever you're in the Park slope area."
"Great food at great price - great comfort food and staff were super helpful and patient. Definitely a staple while in Chinatown!"
"I had a great first visit to Milu today, which will not be my last. Cool, relaxing vibe in a modern space with food that lives up to the hype. While the bowls were tempting, I decided to try the broccoli and mushroom wontons and a duck bun. The wontons were packed with veggies and little discernable filler, with prominent broccoli flavor. I enjoyed them, but they only came with chili oil. They really needed some vinegar for balance. The duck bun had a tender, savory filling that could have used a little more duck, but was great nonetheless. The highlight was the egg tart soft serve I went back to the counter to get, which I couldn't pass up despite being pretty full. It was a good portion adorned with crispy pastry. It was a pretty good mimic of the Portuguese egg tarts, and the pastry made it. Service is friendly and at the counter, and you bus your own. Water is available off to the side near merch. All in all, this is a lovely little oasis with great food, and I'd definitely return."
"My second time was actually much better than my first experience. Besides the photos we also had the boneless duck feet and a braised winter melon dish. The chicken is definitely my personal favorite, we ordered medium spicy but think that we could probably go up a bit more. It's also great for taking the leftovers home and make noodles with it. The soft tofu rice noodles were flavorful, on the saltier side. The texture of the tofu made the noodles extra silky. The pickled string bean one could use more soy sauce, we just added the soup at the bottom of the chicken dish to the pickled string bean rice noodles and it tasted much better. Service and speed of service was much faster this time around, we last came here in 2021. And the kitchen had clear glasses so you could see into the actions. I think the only part is that the chairs aren't the most comfortable and it's only stools instead of chairs for the communal table towards the entrance of the place, those are really tough to sit in for a long time... but food is good!"
"The Spicy Beef Soup offers a deep and complex flavor profile, with each sip of its rich, flavorful broth leaving a satisfying warmth. The tender beef adds to the comforting texture, while the spiciness provides a bold kick, making it perfect for those who enjoy a little extra heat in their meal. This soup is not just flavorful but also a hearty option, ideal for when you're looking for something that both warms and satisfies your taste buds. It's a perfect balance of spice and comfort!"
"File under "Don't Judge a Book By Its Cover" - because you'd never even realize this was a restaurant when walking by and even after you knew... you might be inclined to keep walking to find something a bit more 'bright' and 'inviting'. (And you'd totally miss out on a great little joint.)I'm a lower middle-class Jersey guy - what the heck do I know about cocktails? But I dove right into one ("Jade Collins") and it was firing on all cylinders. Crisp, clean, strong enough to knock over an ox.Then we got a handful of apps - everyone else swore by all the ones they'd had - but I just tried the Salt & Pepper Shrimp and... sweet baby Jesus, this little plate had a wicked amount of flavor from every angle. "Aggressively seasoned" might be an understatement. Wild.Onto the mains and I ventured towards their Spicy Drunken Noodle (my go-to whenever I'm hitting a Thai restaurant on my home turf) and... yeah, you probably guessed it - incredible. Not the biggest portion but they made every single component sing with flavor. With so much going on - of course I needed to indulge with another drink (hey, I wasn't driving!).There were six of us, it came to about $100 a person... welcome to NYC.But we did get a wide selection of plates/food and those two drinks accounted for about $40 of my tab.(And you'll never see such a heavy wine pour at a restaurant... they filled the glass almost to the rim - which was not even something I'd do for myself when I'm home.)Definitely recommended."
"Don't pass this place up and give everyone a high five from me.First the food. Can we say delicious choices of soup dumplings, spicy wonton, chicken mein, pork belly fried rice, pickled cabbage and fried shrimp. I can say that everything was made perfectly and had a good fusion Chinese flavor. If you are looking for super traditional Chinese, this place may not be for you. But if you want to spice up ur life, here you go. The service was top notch, my BIL was friends with the servers but I saw how they treated everyone in the restaurant kindly and quick service for sure. The ambiance was eclectic and that is cool. Think of it as a cross between and cool little bar and a coffee boutique mixed with a lively restaurant feel. Yeah that's it. They had a pretty nice selection of whiskeys and beers if you want to snack and have a few at the bar area. All around good place, would def return!"
"So delicious. My friend and I went for a very late breakfast. I had the beef jian bing, she tried the pork belly jian bing. We both absolutely loved it. The portion was very generous and the price was very reasonable. We both left with happy bellies lol. Everyone in there was very friendly. The inside is tiny but very clean. It was seriously delicious. I've never tried jian bing before and I definitely want to again."
"Good were great, service could be improved. Their rice wasn't fully cooked but they did offer replacement. Environment was pretty nice with live music, cost around $20 for 1-2 songs per request. Overall is good. Easy street parking."
"You can expect to have a solid dining experience here that is on par with other restaurants in the area. The decor is simple, nice, clean and not terribly kid friendly. The service was pretty good.Food & Drink Highlights:1. Get the Sangria if you're not in the mood for a strong cocktail2. Sauce used for Satay was too overpowering for me so heads up on that.3. Vegetable Lo Mein was lightly flavored; chew slowly so you don't miss it.4. They are definitely using Prawns in their entree and not Jumbo Shrimp; I appreciated this.5. There is more cream in the serving of Red Velvet Cake than actual cake.I probably should have tried Philippe Chow when they were newly in town and definitely before I dined at Brooklyn Chop House. I left wanting more flavor."
"For great Taiwanese food at a reasonable price in bushwick, this is the spot. A-pou (aka grandma's) taste is worth a visit if you're in the area. She usually is running around taking orders and greeting guest. The lu-rou rice is a must get for those who love fatty pork, and the beef noodle soup does not disappoint. The popcorn chicken was also very flavorful, and white pepper is on the side which I feel you got to add for more enhanced flavors. When order she said we should order 3 instead of 4 items so we don't waste, which was very true. The sizes are reasonable based on price. A milk tea or lemonade for $1 is also a steal, but the milk tea does taste pretty authentic to me.If I am in the area will definitely go back. Cash only but they do Zelle & Venmo!"
"I'm currently devouring this scrumptious mango chicken with green peppers and red onions. A bit on the sweet and sour side, but it is delish with the basic white rice. I got the lunch meal with chowder soup. Definitely a good meal with excellent price!"
"If you're not getting the dumplings here, you're not getting the full experience! The dumplings that once made me salivate without even tasting them yet got me revisiting XO Taste for lunch one day. We were hit with a ton of menus upon sitting. With pictures, solely words, or specials, there's bound to be a menu to suit your needs. The store accepts credit cards so long as the meal is over $25.The Beef Chow Fun ($15.95) was not it. It was pricey for mediocre BLAND noodles. It did not have enough wok hay, or stir fry taste. The beef was also really dry.The Baked Seafood and Pork Chop w/ Cheese Over Spaghetti in Casserole ($11.95) was also very bland. The sauce from the pork chop had more flavor, although the pork chop was pretty much inedible from how tough it was to bite on. Not bad though for a singular dish that lets you experience both cheesy and tomatoey. Not so surprisingly, our Pan Fried Japanese Dumplings ($7.95) appetizer actually came last. Best for last! They still smelled and tasted as good as I last remembered them. A pork dumpling that's also jam packed with shrimp and then bathed in soy sauce, they just can't get rid of these money makers. Overall, XO Taste is a solid quick eats place for the blander palettes. Given their abundant options, XO unfortunately doesn't specialize in any one dish. Except their dumplings!"
