I had some curry chicken which was delicious but when I returned on Monday the whole meal was off, the rice a bit overcooked and the curry lacking in flavor and spice. However they do make some delicious fried chicken so this will be my new home for some medicinal fried chicken as Popeyes and KFC have not been doing me right. Additionally this place needs to invest in some signs, I do not like playing the guessing game when it comes to prices and a sign would help me figure out what is being sold. Please get some signs!"

"Dinner with the family and The Grotto BK did not disappoint! We started with drinks and then the ackee tostones along with the Octail spring rolls were delicious. And then we moved to the main event of dinner which brought on Oxtails with rice and peas with fried plantain, crab stuff shrimp, steam veg and fried plantain and a rather tasty baked Mac and cheese with oxtails..... Yes we love oxtails very much. All in all we loved the entire experience and the service was amazing."

"So we actually chose the wrong location but ended up just staying here to eat. They make you wear plastic gloves to grab the food at the buffet. First problem I had, considering it was my first time visiting was there was no labels or names for the food on the buffet except for the oxtails so it's like they expected you to know the Jamaica cuisine. It wasn't much on there I wanted and they didn't even have plantains. Plus the pricing was different for different things on the buffet also super confusing . I checked out up front and they weigh the food and I grabbed a water and a fruit juice . Remind you there was no pricing for those items . My juice ended up being $5 but wasn't worth it in my opinion. Wouldn't visit here again if in the area ."

"I came with my friend to Tropical Taste after he mentioned it to me. It's a takeaway spot near the Pennsylvania Avenue station on the number 3. My friend got the curried goat with rice and beans and the cabbage. I got the stewed chicken with rice and beans and cabbage. The food was really good and he let me try some of his curried goat. I usually eat chicken but I would try the goat next time. The service was good--I'm surprised he didn't mention this place sooner. Anyway, better late than never."

"My aunt told me about this place so came here for a quick dinner. We ordered takeout and got the medium oxtail and medium jerk chicken. The oxtail literally melted in your mouth and was cooked to the point where the meat literally fell off the bone (we love that). The jerk chicken was well seasoned and the tangy sauce added was *chefs kiss* Normally, rice and peas aren't always my go-to bc usually the rice tends to be dry. But this was rice was not only seasoned well but I literally would have been fine eating it on its own. We also ordered the peppered shrimp which was okay but not too spicy like I'm used to. I've def had better. Overall, i'll def be returning to try out other menu items."

"Jamaican joint in Brooklyn. Storefront hard to spot, i walked by once before i turned around and had to take a closer look before i realized that was the spot. The inside has some seats but not much so most people probably just do the take out. I ordered the oxtail meal which came with rice and plantains. The oxtails were tender and tasty. The rice was just okay. But the plantains were no good. Maybe its just cooked different than what i've had at other places but i definitely did not like them. While i was waiting for my food, i did hear two other patrons order the curry king fish so i gotta try that out and then reassess my rating of this place."

I don't know the chef but they need a SHOUT OUT TOO! It was hard to decide what to try since everything looked so good. My container cost $13 and lasted 2.5 meals, so it was really worth the cost. Highly recommend! They only take cash, by the way.My only negative comment is that the food isn't labeled so I had no idea what I was choosing. It all tasted great, though, so didn't matter in the end. They are consistently banging out traditional Guyanese-style Chinese dishes along with their staple West Indian dishes. For those we are familiar with The Bamboo Restaurant, please don't confuse the two. This one continues to shine while the former has fallen off majorly.All of their dishes are prepared with the traditional Guyanese seasoning. Their fried rice, their shining star on their menu, is perfectly cooked every time. Regardless of what meat or seafood is paired with it, it is a HIT. Their lo mein is pretty good and needs an honorable mention. When I want my food more spicy, I will pour a small amount of their pepper sauce so that I can take the flavor to another level. I often will pair my meal with an order of phoulourie with tamarind sauce which they will warm up for you. Their curry chicken roti is also pretty good. My sister highly recommends it!I would recommend anyone who wants to try Guyanese cooking to definitely stop in for some takeout when you are in the area. The food is always good. The customer service is friendly. The prices are right! You will definitely get your money's worth here especially if you are able to catch their Lunch Special!"

"Fantastic place in Queens for takeaway Jamaican food! It's even walkable from some of the airport hotels if you are here on a trip like we were. They have a few different meat options but we tried the jerk chicken and the oxtail. The base can be rice, beans, or rasta pasta. We went with rasta pasta and it was delicious and well seasoned. The jerk chicken and the sauce was so good. It was a huge portion of food as well. They have an assortment of refreshing fruity drinks and the pineapple ginger was super good. The place is small but there were some bar stools to eat inside, but it's more designed to take away. The service was nice and helped explain the menu and how everything worked."

A must try if you're at CitiField. The slaw on top went well with the chicken. So that led me to try RyRy's on Grubhub for lunch on my work for home day. I ordered jerk chicken empanadas, Caribbean shrimp tacos and the oxtails rice and peas. They ran out of empanadas and tacos. And no substitution was offered. The food was delicious and will have to give RyRy's a try in person."
