"Such a cute restaurant decor is definitely a 10 ! The food was very tasty and the portions were reasonable for the price. We had the sampler platter the ox tails were my fav. We didn't have reservations and went in the afternoon on a Saturday and we were able to be seated right away. I wouldn't probably make reservations if I was going in the evening. The service was great I will definitely be back!"
"The Islands is our go-to for Caribean food when we need delivery. The oxtail with rice and peas and garlic shrimp are to die for. Our vegetarian friend loves their curry vegetables with tofu as well. Prices are high although the food matches the quality. I wasn't a big fan of the jerk chicken wings, mac and cheese, nor the plantains. Both were not as moist as I like however it might have been an off day. I definitely want to try the other dishes such as the curry goat and stewed chicken!"

"Sugarcane BK is definitely an amazing spot for Caribbean food fusion with great service in a beautiful atmosphere. I loved every bite and the sangria is made with sorrel and it is on point!"
"Amazing food!!! Ricky took really good care of us. Party of 10. Service was impeccable! Oxtail empanadas, jerk chicken wings, rice and peas, peppered shrimp. It was all really good!!!"
"Overall great ambiance with a Caribbean vibe. You can enjoy your birthday here or even just come to eat a delicious meal while watching sports.Make sure to arrive early as peak hours get busy for table service. You can always sneak into the bar stool area for a more engaged atmosphere and surround view."
"Great spot for a delicious cocktail. Came in right at lunch and the staff was warm/inviting. Our mixologist was great at recommending what we'd might like and his drinks were amazing. We ordered the Cloud 9 and Dusse Sangria. The sangria was sweet and berry forward and the Cloud 9 tastes like a pina colada (was my favorite of the two). Recommend having a bite alongside the cocktails since most of the items in the menu have 2 types of spirits in them.I definitely want to come back here; music was excellent and so were the drinks."
"I've come here on serval occasions and Bamboo Walk never disappoints! Things I love: - The food is flavorful!- It's great for celebrating special occasions, such as anniversaries or birthdays. - There's a variety (live music, karaoke, etc.)- The staff here are warm and welcoming. - There is a variety of indoor and outdoor seating. Things to note: - Consider making a reservation if going during peak hours. Overall, I love this place! Definitely give it a try"
"Cute decor, but the restaurant is on the smaller side. Came for happy hour with a friend but we ended up ordering food from the regular menu. I had the guava bbq wings which were phenomenal, while my friend had the Rasta pasta that she raved about. The rum punch was really tasty and strong, I couldn't have made it better myself."
"One of my favorite soul food spots in NYC period. Food is always hot and fresh and portion sizes are great. I wish there was more seating to be able to enjoy the food right away though, maybe they'll expand one day."
"Food is always fresh. The jerk chicken is SO GOOD!! Festival hits the spot every time. It's a very small space, so pack your patience. There may be a bit of a wait, but it's worth it. Also, bring your bills. It's CASH ONLY!!"
"The food hands down was amazing. I literally wanted to asked to see who the chef was and shake their hands because the food was amazing. The atmosphere was calm. They play Afro beat Caribbean music. It was not to loud it was at a perfect level. This place is a gem.Check it out"
"Brunch for the first time at Brookiyn Moon... Quick, randomly ordered recap:---cute space---mimosas for $1.99 (meh)---long wait time for food (over 30 minutes and they weren't super crowded)---friendly service---no wait time for seating (2.30p on a Sunday)---NO A.C. (it was 90 degrees and they were relying on a breeze? I was sweating profusely to the point my pants were wet when I got up to leave).---Okay food. No real complaints; I just think I've come to the conclusion that "chicken and waffles" is overrated. (but I would go back and try other dishes.)---I hear their wings are delicious."

The food was amazing honestly, I busted down my entire plate. It was a Saturday when I went a RSVP is definitely required for a great seat. However as a walk in, I well accommodated. As far as the ambiance is I'm honest the back of the restaurant is more of a warm ambiance than the front. That's why a reservation would be beneficial.Staff wasn't that attentive because it was busy as fuck, however we did get our food and drinks on time.

I use to love this place but I think it's changed so much. The food has falling off drastically. The drinks are still good. The staff was really nice. I would go back for appetizers and drinks. The bad gal and the Sorrel Grimm was so delicious

So me and my friends decided to pull up and do our annual Bros' Brunch at BK9. Due to the Holiday weekend (After Christmas) the place was pleasantly not packed. We had full attention from the Bartender and our server, Rosie (Big Ups to her!) I had 2 Hot Toddies, that warmed my soul and help fight off the evil hangover spirits from the day before . The food was delicious. They had their own Caribbean spin on every regular/schmegular typical brunch food one usually gets. I enjoyed my haitian breakfast (see attached photo). I highly recommend this place for brunch.

I've been to this location once and the one in Atlantic City and those times were amazing. But this last trip was disappointing and had I not been here before I would've gave a 3 star. However the staff are very friendly and professional, they check in on you often. The restaurant also still looks really nice and definitely really clean. This time around I got bourbon ribs and the half baked potato. The ribs weren't anything to wow about and my potato had no flavor and felt like the cheese was just burnt on top of it. The portion size was great for the cost but after a while of eating the ribs, it didn't taste good anymore and I disregarded the potato after a few bites. I'm assuming it would've been better if I got it on a weekend. I'd recommend trying them out on the weekend or knowing exactly what to order through reviews, like the oxtail with Rasta pasta.

Came here on a Friday night with my ladies. I loved the cozy feeling of this place and the vibes. Music was on point. For cocktails we ordered Cloud 9, Ella and D'usse Sangria. My least favorite drink was Ella. The other two cocktails were delicious. We wanted to try the shrimp plantain cups for appetizers. But our waiter stated they ran out for the night. So we ordered the signature mac & cheese which was delicious. For our main entrée I attempted to order the West Indies Scampi but they ran out for the night. Our waiter suggested to order the Rasta pasta with shrimp. We ordered Rasta pasta with oxtail and the Jerk Chicken dish. The Rasta pasta was really good. The oxtail was super tender and the shrimp were seasoned very well. The Jerk chicken dish was delicious and super flavorful. Even the broccoli was seasoned to perfection. Overall this spot is serving great food with a wonderful atmosphere. We will definitely come back at an earlier time to try the food items we wanted.

I had an amazing time at Bamboo Walk. This was one of the places I went for my bday, if you don't know I celebrate all month long. It definitely was vibes, they had a dj that had me dancing in my seat. The decor was really nice, it actually was nicer than I expected it to be. The drink I had was really good. The food was good, their wings, jerk chicken & jerk salmon was good. I also had codfish fritters but I didn't care for it too much cuz it was too bready. They shouted me out for my birthday which was cool & they give you a hot wash cloth to clean your hands which is a nice touch.

I had a great time here for Saturday brunch with a close friend of mine. The music was a great vibe but a little too loud for conversation. The decor made me want to take several selfies especially in the bathroom.. We started off with calamari, then for the main course we ordered the chicken and waffles. I loved the fact that I was able to order the waffles half red velvet and the other half regular and the chicken was crispy. We also ordered the bake and saltfish which was very flavorful. For drinks I had 2 of the tropical sunrise. Our server was friendly and attentive. Definitely will come back!

"We were able to walkin Saturday around 8 with no reservation, and the restaurant was pretty packed. Service was good and food came out in a good amount of time. I'd skip the salmon crab balls as they weren't very excited and lacked flavor. We got the tasting plate, which was good and still had leftovers. The curry goat was really good and the jerk chicken had a lot of flavor/spice. The oxtail and rice and peas were good too, but I've had better. The plantains were crispy and delicious. Back home more spots are closing down or mainly take out only, so it was nice to sit down and enjoy our meal."
"I went to Mothers because the restaurant I wanted to go to was closed and I was starving and I had limited time. I was pleasantly surprised. They must've changed the cook because the food was really good. I got the naked wings, greens, candied yams and fried whiting sandwich. I will return."
"One of the grms in Dekalb Market. Very flavorful chicken. sides are excellent accompaniments. Never sat at counter. staff is always friendly."
"Delicious Jamaican food, easy to order via kiosk. Flavorful oxtail stew and rice & peas. The curry goat roti was also good. Pair with their ginger beer!"
"This was my choice of the 1st place to eat upon returning home to NYC. It's in my mother's neighborhood, so I wanted to see what has become of Brooklyn, NY. All she told me was that there was a carribbean fusion spot blocks away. So instantly, I said, "Let's roll. Upon walking up to the restaurant, a person greeted us from outside and sat us. Inside was a straight vibe from jump. The energy was high, the music was playing, and you could smell the food cooking in the back. There is a nice size bar and dj in the front of the place. There is plenty of seating inside for any size group. I had the jerk chicken w/ rice & peas and collard greens. The food came out in a reasonable time. My mother had the chicken & Waffles. That was good I tried it the Waffles were thin and nice. There was like a slight spicy brine for the chicken. My brother had the whole Snapper that was also really good he said he really enjoyed it. I will return here w/ my sister because she would love the vibes here w/ her friends. Maybe we will return for brunch one day. This place reminds me of a place called 4Play w/ the nice music and energy. The server was very knowledgeable and fast! If you want good food and great vibes while in the gateway area of Brooklyn you must stop in. You won't be disappointed!!!"
"Come here to get the lunch special for 8.95... it's okay... I do not like the jerk chicken it's boneless meat and quite dry. I also had the spicy chicken which is more flavorful and juicy"
"I don't even know how to compose this review about Peppa's. Like fuh real FR! I have mixed feelings but I ain't here for all of that so let's get into the real meat. Yeah, daiz ah big fat, juicy pun.Their food is really good. I enjoy it. A LOT! I could eat it every day (except the rolls on my sides aren't feeling that typa vibe). Customer service IN MY EXPERIENCE 2.5/5Cleanliness 5/5Ease of order 4/5Special order, (for instance you don't want your oxtail mixed with your macaroni salad) 0/5. Food great! 5/5Like I said, my rolls have started complaining because I've been here numerous times even without checking into Yelp BUT, I'm trying to stay away. However, If you're in the mood for good, affordable, Caribbean food you should definitely give them a try. Tell ya personal trainer I said "HEY".The end."
"If there were 6 stars, I would give this restaurant that. This was one of the BEST Caribbean dining experiences I've have in NYC for a very long time. Many Caribbean restaurants think they are providing experiences and they are not. Cross road was a 10 from start to finish. I enjoyed the fact that I can have a conversation and hear the other person at our table. Most places of Caribbean cuisine have the music loud like we're in a club. I get its a bar and restaurant but I never understood dining and not being able to have a conversation and not scream. The service was amazing. The host was very attentive from the moment he sat us to the moment we left. He was friendly and pleasant and accommodating the whole time. My drink was amazing.(the millionaire) It had just the right amount of bourbon and was mixed perfectly. I ordered the bbq jerk chicken to play it safe and I was so pleased. The rice was soooooo good. I was so happy to have rice that tasted as good as it looked. Sometimes, restaurants layer the food on rice and then the rice has no taste. This rice could of stood alone to be honest. Lol. The bbq jerk chicken was perfect. Manners had me not pick up the bones. We also had the churrasco steak as well and I didn't care for steak that night but the bite I had was good. The churrasco sauce was SO GOOD. The Peach Paradise dessert was okay. I was expecting more sweet like peach cobbler but it was a very subtle taste of sweet. It was made to order so really fresh and the cake consistency was nice and fluffy. I just needed a little more sugar or did i? Lol The presentation of the food was very well done. I cant wait to revisit this place. The icing on the cake was being able to meet the owners and chat with them for a minute. Great guys and they are doing a great job!"
"Food was great. We ordered Nachos off of the brunch menu and stayed for dinner to order mushroom and chicken ramen. Everything came out quickly and deliciously.Ambiance is great! The brunch crowd has a DJ who had a pretty amazing set. Staff is warm, helpful, and friendly! Felt attended to fully.Shame I haven't visited this place sooner since I literally pass it daily.I will certainly be back."
"Stopped in and had lunch. It was a busy little place. Ordered our food to eat in. It came out in a good amount of time. 2 of us had curry and I had chicken. The other 2 said the curry was good, my jerk chicken was very good and plenty of it. Check the place out."
"So we actually chose the wrong location but ended up just staying here to eat. They make you wear plastic gloves to grab the food at the buffet. First problem I had, considering it was my first time visiting was there was no labels or names for the food on the buffet except for the oxtails so it's like they expected you to know the Jamaica cuisine. It wasn't much on there I wanted and they didn't even have plantains. Plus the pricing was different for different things on the buffet also super confusing . I checked out up front and they weigh the food and I grabbed a water and a fruit juice . Remind you there was no pricing for those items . My juice ended up being $5 but wasn't worth it in my opinion. Wouldn't visit here again if in the area ."
"Place seemed to turned things around from when I went here 9yrs ago. Food was pretty good and it was packed with patrons dining in. Had chicken fried rice, butter fish and roast duck. All made fresh and tasty. Some of the cocktails were a bit too sugary for me. Headed next door afterward as they have bar lounge for some drinks, played good music and dancing with the wife."
"Unfortunately I came with the worst expectation, I was expecting poor black on black bad service, I was seriously surprised.... I'm not going to say I received top seller serious, but it was really good ... The staff took care of us and where really professional, and not to disparage them because they wear great but, I've had heard others a little negativaty on to Sip N Chat,... But my experience was really good!!!!!!"
"I really enjoyed my lunch here! You can tell everything is fresh and cooked to order. I got bbq chicken, broccoli and mashed potatoes. The waitress was also very sweet, the restaurant is also well kept and clean. I took 1 star off because they did not have macaroni and cheese but I did appreciate that they told us as soon as we walked in. This is not an area I frequent so I am not sure if I will be back but if I do come to the area I will definitely check it out!"
"It took the restaurant 60 minutes to deliver an order to me 10 minutes away. Minus that I ordered a Shrimp Po'Boy. When I got my order the sandwich was on regular sandwich bread. I've never seen a Po'Boy on sandwich bread...always a hero. To be overpriced and terrible order service, I'm extremely disappointed because the flavor and food are good but not worth the jip I feel. At least call and say hey I ran out of the traditional bread for Po'Boy rather than serving this. I hope they improve in this area but I definitely won't be ordering for a while if ever. This isn't my first time having issues. I always come back because the food is good but presentation, customer service and delivery can do better for the way they are pricing. My delivery guy was nice so no fault to himUpdate...cornbread was staler than Kristen Stewart's personality. I don't know if because my order was late but the cornbread had no flavor and was a crumbly dry mess"
"Delicious and well run business. Been three times and there's always a friendly face. The chicken patty is very moist and delicious. Highly reccomend."
"Soldiers food is comfort food times 20. Soldiers food is the closest thing to mom making Sunday dinner. God bless the Soldiers franchise!"
"I love this place. Good Turkey wings, curry chicken, rice & peas, chicken soup, red pea soup (their stew peas is great but I can't get it anymore bcs chicken feet scare the hell out of me)."
"Definitely a lovely spot. DJ was spinning them tunes and the drinks were strong. Hookah available The food was good with a likkle kick of heat."
"The food here is pretty good. I got the goat curry and it was a pretty good serving size for the price. Service was a bit rough around the edges, but they got the job done. I wish my food had a bit more plantains as I only had a couple of slices. I probably wouldn't make a trip for this place, but if you're in the neighborhood it's a good spot."
"I've been here about 3 times and the food never disappoints. My go to is either the Mac patty with oxtail or Mac patty with shrimp curry . Josh and Chris are always super friendly and provide good service. Please bring back the homemade pine tart and cheese roll!! They were flaky & delicious :) ambiance- it's a deli- there are a few chairs outside to sit. Tip: waiting time is a bit steep if it's busy, we waited around 15-20 minutes last time for four Mac patties."
"Anas has great customer service the food was prepared quickly. He even gave me a small sample off a few items on the menu to help make a decision on what I wanted. That alone satisfied me as a customer and would recommend him if your in the area. Food gets a 8/10"
"A little too spicy.Pros- open late 5AM late! Cons - the goat curry is a little too spicy. I don't mind spice, and love to eat spicy hotpot etc. But this spice was overpowering, I never had Jamaican/Caribbean food this spicy before. It tasted good, but with that spicy level; heartburn and indigestion hits immediately."
