We indulged in the extraordinary Bourbon Steak by Michael Mina and, wow, did we strike gold! Marcella and George were absolute heroes, the drinks and cuisine were exceptionally delicious, and we even got to experience the magic behind the scenes and witness the kitchen artistry. If you're searching for an elegant spot to unwind and dine, look no further, we discovered a true gem!

It was such a great experience dining at Bourbon Steak--I'm already looking forward to dining there again. The restaurant is in the JW Marriott Essex House in Central Park. My friend made the reservations for 6pm (we were going to participate in Restaurant Week) and when we arrived, we were seated promptly. Often, when there's just two people dining, they seat you at a small table with two chairs. This was not the case at Bourbon Steak--we had booth, and we were able to place our items on the ledge. The beauty of RW menu is that it's limited--it doesn't take too much to decide. I chose the following: Roasted Butternut Squash Soup (appetizer), 8 oz. skirt steak (main) with whipped potatoes and creamed spinach (for the table), and Warm Beignets with milk chocolate pot de crème (dessert). The soup was hearty--it had chestnuts, hazelnuts and farro. It was delicious. The steak was cooked perfectly (I asked for medium) and the sides were divine. They were rich, the potatoes were made with heavy cream and echire butter--fat is everything! The beignets were very good--since I can't make it to café du Monde, this will have to do ;). We got cocktails, my friend got the pisco punch and I got the delicious sour. We both enjoyed our drinks. Later, we decided to get amoretto sours--these were delicious as well. The food and drinks were sublime, but the service was phenomenal. Our servers, Jon and Christian were excellent. They provided great suggestions, and they gave us a flight of fries (truffle, rosemary, and pastrami) with dipping sauces (garlic aioli, ketchup and another one that I don't remember unfortunately). This was one of the best Restaurant Weeks I've experienced. I highly recommend dining here!

Every year, my friend and I participate in restaurant week. I saw Bourbon Steak on the list and made a reservation and boy was I not wrong with my choice. The ambience was nice and cozy our two waiters Christian and John were spectacular. The food was divine and the drinks were delicious and let's not forget the dessert. I highly recommend and I will definitely be returning. Next time I'll bring my mom for her upcoming birthday. FYI, if you go do yourself a favor and order their whipped potatoes, it is to die for.For our appetizer I got the Shrimp Cocktail and my friend got the Butternut Squash Soup. Both were insanely delicious. We both ordered the Skirt Steak cooked medium it was so good you didn't even need any steak sauce. For our sides we got there Creamed Spinach with crispy shallots on top and the best Whipped Potatoes you will ever taste TRUST ME it's all in their imported butter. For our drinks I ordered the Pisco Punch which was delicious and my friend got the Delicious Sour. We both opted for their Warm Beignets, which came with their chocolate mousse for dessert. It was so good we decided to get our favorite drink an Amaretto Sour to wash it down Yum-O. Everything was phenomenal. Can't wait to return. Cheers :)

We needed a little nook to warm up and have a bite- perfect spot inside the JW MARRIOTT.We found a table and ordered a drink, of course some crispy hot French fries and a fresh wedge salad to split- such a nice place to sit and relax for a bit. Great service, clean restrooms- and beautiful decor. Vibrant colors with hints of mahogany, maroons and amber tones- really nice place to take a break and have a bite.

We have been looking for a new steakhouse since Gallaghers had their sanitary grade fiasco and we have found it. Bourbon Steak has it all. Inside the JW Marriott Essex Hotel, Central Park S. Gorgeous interior that has a very hip and modern vibe. Make sure you make a reservation as it is a popular spot. I asked for a table in the back where it was much quieter than sitting towards the front or middle of restaurant. Great circular booth which was great for actually being able to converse with our party. Our server Christian was lovely. Mentioned the team service environment and that they could answer any question. Everyone got a steak. Prices are a bit high but quality and temp were perfect. We also got the Empire apple salad, Caesar salad and sides were the onion rings (ended up having to get a second order!) Mac and cheese, loaded potato and creamed spinach. Clearly not short of any food. All of the sides are for two people. Oh and forgot to mention, for the table the restaurant brings you three different types of French fries with dipping sauces instead of the usual bread and butter. Those were most definitely a hit at the table. Can't forget to mention the picky hubbs and his old fashioned. He couldn't stop raving about it and had two. Also quite pricey but hey, livin it up. Lastly, had the beignets for dessert were an incredible way to top off dinner with multiple dipping sauces and served piping hot! We will absolutely be back. Fantastic experience.

The Parkside Prix Fixe I had here was excellent. As of September 2024 it was $75 for what was effectively nine dishes. This is specifically served from 5pm to 6pm and designed to ensure you can eat and still make a 7pm show.Instead of a bread course, they brought out freshly cooked fries done three ways and with three different sauces. There were truffle fries, herb butter fries, and spiced fries. In addition to a classic ketchup, there was an aioli and what I can only describe as a high-end fry sauce. These fries were quickly devoured. For appetizers we had large plates that each held four different smaller dishes. The first was a cherry tomato, pesto, and burrata tart. The tomato was sweet, the burrata fresh and creamy, and the pesto and crispy tart base savory. Next was a tuna tartare with crostinis. The tuna was extremely high quality, reminding me of sashimi. A small portion of salad with heart of palm was nicely crisp and refreshing. And lastly there was a corn and crab soup that was absolutely amazing - bursting with an intense sweet corn flavor. For the entree I had a wood grilled skirt steak and my partner had roasted king salmon with a caper sauce. Very clean and pronounced flavors, and a satisfying portion. For sides there was a creamed corn (different consistency from the corn soup appetizer, but still delicious!), butter whipped potatoes that had a perfect silky texture, and sauteed spinach. The spinach was the only thing I felt could have been executed better - I think it was overseasoned and more bitter than I would have liked.Service was impeccable and the interior is relaxed with warm colors and pleasant lighting. The windows look out onto the south end of Central Park across the street. I have zero regrets about having our final night's dinner here!

5/5 stars. To be fair, I haven't had the steak here yet, but I've had the salmon. Bourbon Steak makes a perfectly executed salmon - with a slightly crispy exterior texture but melt-in-your-mouth interior with a buttery smoothness, I have to give credit where credit is due.If I'm still thinking about a dish a week after eating, it's truly won over my heart.Located in the beautiful JW Marriott Essex House, the classy ambiance is also an excellent touch.Would definitely come back!

We're big fans of the Nashville Bourbon Steak, so were looking forward to visiting the new NYC outpost in the JW. Absolutely beautiful space, couldn't imagine a nicer place to dine. Flawless attentive service throughout the evening. Enjoyed the tuna tartare, apparently a specialty. Not a personal favorite, but it was beautifully presented and the tuna was perfectly fresh. Wife and I split an apple salad, and it was plenty of a green course between us, and quite delicious. Appreciate that you can get a rib cap, one of my very favorite cuts, and a rarity on steak house menus. Nicely cooked to order, and a more reasonably sized portion than the strip or ribeye. One of our table got the lobster pot pie. It's certainly a great presentation, though at a steep price, and they were a little disappointed with the small amount of lobster inside. The creamed spinach and mushroom sides were favorites.Certainly one of the better steak houses in Manhattan, and one to which we'd happily return.

During our summer vacation, my family and I dined at Bourbon Steak NY by Chef Michael Mina at JW Marriott Essex House hotel where we stayed. We sat in the bar and lounge area, which offered an intimate dining experience with ambient lighting. My hubby and I shared a refreshing palm salad with chicken. He enjoyed a perfectly cooked 20-oz bone-in ribeye, served with grilled asparagus and a loaded baked potato. I had the phyllo-crusted sole with horseradish potato puree and caviar beurre blanc. We ended our meal with a Basque brulee cheesecake topped with roasted strawberries, Grand Marnier and a turbinado sugar crunch. Our dinner and service was fantastic.
