The food here is certainly tasty, but I'm not sure it's the best high-end Mediterranean fare that I've had. The cocktails were delicious as well as the Mezze. The ambience here is a more traditional vibe, so I'd definitely ensure that's the feel you're seeking. It appeals more to the pre-theater crowd. The service was wonderful, but a very formal experience.

This is perhaps my 3rd time at Boulud Sud. We are fortunate to live nearby. This was a birthday dinner. The 5 of us ordered 2x the sea bass, the wagyu bavette, the cabbage mejadra, and the scallops. We also had a mezze plate, and a side order of "patatas bravas", and some sorbet/ice cream. We ordered one of the less expensive wines, a St. Emilion. It was quite good and exactly as described by the waitress. (I picked it out, but she was very knowledgeable about their wine list). The mezze plate, which sounds like it could be similar as one would find at a kebab joint, was quite good, and quite unlike anything one would find at any kebab joint, and even better than Laser Wolf's. The bavette was extremely tender and buttery. The cabbage mejadra was quite interesting. The scallops were fresh and well prepared. Service was there when we needed it but out of sight otherwise. And Boulud Sud has one of he more pleasant dining rooms in NYC. Please be advised that this is not the adjacent Bar Boulud, and a much nicer experience overall.

I'm going to get right into it and rave about the grapefruit givre. I almost always get some form of chocolate dessert because it rarely disappoints. The grapefruit givre was not even on my radar, but I'm so so glad that I veered from my norm. It was amazing. Amazing! I can't even describe all of the floral notes, sweet and sticky, cold and refreshing layers. Do people know about this and never told me? I dream about this dessert and will come back for that as my main course. Boulud Sud is located across from Lincoln Center. Nice ambiance. Pre fixe 3 course dinner Tues - Sat 5-7pm is reasonably priced at $75...for a fancy place. Many vegetarian options for my meatless bffs. The dishes are not all winners, some are finger licking food and some less memorable, but overall solid.

SO and I had the Valentine's Day menu here last night. The menu had some breadth, was clear and organized. We shared everything as courses were delivered. For appetizers: the tortellini was savory with a bit of caviar for an added touch and the tuna carpaccio was well dressed and flavorful. For entrees, the sea bass was very tasty and had a nice, crispy skin. The New York strip was perfectly cooked and very satisfying. For dessert, the grapefruit and assorted ice cream topped off a great evening at Boulud Sud.Bottom line, the service was attentive and food was enjoyable to eat. Have always enjoyed our dinners here and will continue coming back!

Came with two girlfriends for Winter Restaurant Week! Food/Drink: For restaurant week, the deal was a three course dinner for $60. For some items there was an additional fee. Appetizer: Octopus A La Plancha (extra fee) - definitely worth it! Octopus was perfectly cooked, and it came with more pieces than I would expect for an appetizer portion. Main Course: Seared Mediterranean Sea Bass - This was also perfectly cooked and delicious. I like the accoutrements of the carrots, wheat berries, and pistachios. My friends got their famous Moroccan Chicken Tagine, which was scrumptious as well! Dessert: Grapefruit Givre (extra fee) - Many people in the dining room got this dessert because of the presentation since it's served in the actual grapefruit. I don't love very sweet desserts, so this was perfect for my palate. The sorbet and accompaniments were a great end to the meal. French 64: This drink has rose gin and elderflower, so it was light and refreshing. Service/Ambiance: Service was impeccable. The decor was interesting and reminded me of a hotel lobby. You have a nice view into the kitchen and expediting window. Overall: I would come back again to sample more dishes!

Really nice place! Good service and quality food. I had the duck, which was excellent. Others in the party had duck ragu and chicken tanigne. We came in at six, and it was fairly quiet and easy to chat. As the night went on, the restaurant filled up, and it was kind of loud. But still a wonderful place.

Do you ever find yourself driving and out of nowhere start to think about the most amazing octopus salad you've ever had? Because that is what has happened to me MULTIPLE times after eating here!! I wanted to plan a very nice dinner for me and my partner while in NYC. It was our anniversary weekend and thought why not. Their menu looked great and it also happened to be restaurant week. Once there I was happily surprised by their layout. It's not stuffy and stiff like other high end places. Love the food, hate the decor/layout most of the time. But Boulud was very inviting. Our server was amazing! She was a very sweet woman. Once we placed our dinner order she offered a wine pairing, we of course gladly accepted and our bottle was brought to us in no time. The first two things to arrive was the soup and salad! It was my first time having a cold tomato soup, but it was wonderfully seasoned. But let me tell you about this octopus salad!! This was the most amazing thing I have ever eaten in my life!! It was perfected seasoned, seared, presented, etc!! I literally tell everyone I know going to NYC to try this salad! Its that good!! The rest of our meal was great! I kind of blacked out after the salad haha

First time back in a few years after the COVID gap. The restaurant was closed for about a year and a half. I decided to come here again as it was in close proximity to the Lincoln Square movie theater where I watched Top Gun Maverick. This restaurant exemplifies the standard of what service should be. The staff making sure your glass is always full, knife and forked changed with each course, any crumbs cleaned off the table after each course, appetizers, main course, deserts simultaneously served to all a guests at you table at the same time by more than one server. That's something you do not see very often these days. It definitely shows the pride and commitment of the staff and owner Daniel Boulud to customer service. This is typical In all of his restaurants. Nice atmosphere, upscale although you can dress either casual or dressy, impeccably clean, friendly wait staff and great food prepared with a high standard of quality. For appetizers we had the Mediterranean Mezze platter which is flatbreads, Kibbie balls, and assorted hummus. We also had the Gambas Al Ajillo which is royal red shrimp, Spanish Chile and foccachia bread. For the main course we had the Shabzi Spiced Mediterranean Sea Bass which comes with herb tahina bulgar wheat and green garbanzo. All the dishes were light and were tasty. For desert we had the Citrus Vachirin which is a meringue with a citrus composition. They have a good selection of wine, beers and liquors. It was nice to be able to chat with the assistant manger Eduardo and Elvir the manager. We talked about the impact of COVID, where some of the staff we knew wound up after COVID and talked about our experiences at Daniel which is my favorite restaurant. Elvir told me he worked there for 22 years and trained our regular waiter there. It's nice to see that when you "think customer first" even when the unimaginable happens you have a chance to stay in business.I would highly recommend Boulud Sad and do not think they will disappoint.
