When you know, you know. I was walking over to the theater just a couple blocks from here for a show with no set plan. As I always do, I end up eating at whatever place catches my eye. The outside of this place caught my eye so I walked right in. Opted for a table instead of the bar even though I was alone as I wanted to be comfortable. I was ready to order by the time Diego came back around. I'm a creature of habit when I dine at a French restaurant by ordering steak frites. AlwaysPaired it with their only cider then followed that with the tosé from Provence. Amazing meal. My steak was perfectly cooked. I love the way their fries were cooked. There were a few super crunchy pieces that was a nice surprise. Ended with the yuzu/matcha tart. I kilt that plate. Thanks to Diego for taking such great care of me.

Dined for lunch on a weekday during work and had an excellent experience. Service was attentive and understood the pace of corporate lunches. Ordered the steak sandwich with fries and it was an excellent lunch meal, the sandwich was executed very well and had a lot of flavor. Fries were solid too.Overall this place was fun and very pleasant, amazing ambience and vibes, a lot of natural light, and everyone was happy to be there. Recommend.

Beautiful restaurant and props for being one of the easiest places to get a reservation for brunch around Union square/Flatiron. Food is alright, def overpriced but I guess you're also paying for location. Cheesecake here is really soft and hot chocolate is decent.

Hooray it's my 700th review, FINALLY! I should have completed that number back in 2016 but life has a funny way of throwing curve balls at you...I wanted to dedicate this review to the restaurant I spent my birthday at this year. To celebrate with my New York friends, I really wanted to go somewhere that had traditional French food (since I barely had any when I was in the country last month, ironically) below 34th Street. Ultimately somewhere that had great food, chill Parisian vibes, and enough space that I could book a party of seven without issue. So many French places won't do tables over six!! Boucherie Union Square crossed off every single box and is also gorgeous to boot! One of my favorite things about this restaurant is just how giant the menu is. They had ALL of my favorites listed and in the true spirit of birthday girl domination, I took over ordering all the dishes and even the wine! Going with large groups makes it easier since we can order a multitude of dishes and share everything family style. All courses and dishes to follow...Appetizers:-SOUPE À L'OIGNON Traditional French onion soup, croutons and Gruyère-SALADE CÉSAR Romaine, anchovy, Parmesan, lemon-MOULES DIJONNAISE Garlic, shallots, thyme, light mustard cream-LES ESCARGOTSSnails, shallots, lemon, parsley and garlic butter-WAGYU CARPACCIO Truffle aioli, horseradish, caper berriesMy favorites of the apps were the onion soup (so HEAVENLY I scraped for every last fleck of cheese), the mussels, and the carpaccio. The salad didn't have enough dressing or whatever dressing there was, was not packing the flavor punch one would expect. For the escargots, I've reconfirmed to myself that snails are gross and I'll never get over the chewy texture nor the slimy mental image of them haha. Carpaccio was delicious and highly recommend.Main courses paired with a bottle of Chateau du Chatelard Beaujolais-Villages which was outstanding:-CÔTE DE BOEUF POUR DEUX 48 oz Tomahawk ribeye, herb roasted bone marrow, Bordelaise-BOEUF BOURGUIGNON Traditional French braised beef, carrots, mushrooms, bacon, pommes purée-COQ AU VIN Braised chicken, red wine reduction, bacon, carrots, mushroomsAnd of course, all the sides:-POMMES FRITES-POMMES PURÉE -CHAMPIGNONS -SMOKED GOUDA MACARONI GRATINHighlights from the main course were the tomahawk and the bone marrow but honestly everything tasted great. I think I started getting the meat sweats halfway into this course as I wanted to rip my dress sleeves off at one point.Dessert was a lovely birthday creme brûlée complete with chocolate note and candle!Overall, my dinner here was nothing short of outstanding. The waiters took good care of us, and our food came out at a reasonable pace and beautifully prepared. One of my favorite events of the evening was the small gift that the restaurant gave me -- it was a book of Boucherie history and origins which also included recipes and on the inside page, there was a handwritten note to me saying happy birthday.Boucherie team, thank you for making my birthday experience so amazing!

Huge hall, huge burgers, huge back. The boucherie burger was dominated by the meat... I didn't even process the other ingredients so if meat is your thing, this is not a bad choice. The burger was so juicy it made the bread soggy pretty quickly though which was a weird issue to have. The service was also pretty disappointing and we were ignored for a while. It gave an old timey vibe and we were seated next to the piano which was an awful seating choice because it was kinda dusty.

Having heard great things about Boucherie, and seeing numerous pictures of its gorgeous interior, I had excitedly booked a reservation for 4 for my birthday lunch! However, I left underwhelmed and disappointed. For starters, we were seated at these high top tables. As one of our party members had mobility issues, I asked our waitress if we could be moved to one of the lower tables or booths, to which she refused, despite the restaurant being half full at best. Food wise, we ordered the seared scallops, steak frites, moules dijonnaise, and escargot.Seared Scallops: (4/5) The scallops themselves were large, delicious and perfectly cooked! The squash puree underneath paired nicely as well; however, I found that there wasn't enough of it. Overall, it felt like a $44 appetizer rather than a main course. Moules Dijonnaise: (2/5) As a mussel lover, I was really looking forward to this; however, they arrived extremely cold, and tasted as if they were someone's leftovers. Even when refired, the mussels were still lukewarm at best, not to mention, sandy. The steak frites and escargot were tasty, but not enough to compel me to return. Overall, I will likely not be returning to Boucherie.

I came here for a bday brunch with a friend! I ordered the jambon and Gruyère omelette and my friend ordered the eggs benedict. If anything I think the omelette could've used a little more salt but luckily we had some nice flakey salt with the free bread and butter (delicious!) it wasn't completely booked up and the staff were all friendly, albeit a little inattentive when it got busier. The atmosphere and interior was a 10/10 and I received some of the best ice cream with a little candle! Even when the ice cream melted it looked high quality.I'd definitely come back for a celebration!

We had a great time here! The service was very nice we had the escargot and two sandwiches and finished with crème brûlée for desert. We also had Hugo spritzes which were lovely and I finished with an espresso martini. We were sat at a table next to a real piano which was so cool! Would recommend.
