Very cute Greek decor. The staff was attentive the waitress gave us misinformation and was reluctant to make good on our bill, but ultimately agreed since it was her fault. The food was OK, a little bit oily. My friends and I couldn't decide if they use too much butter or too much oil... whatever it is, they should cut back a little bit. I don't live nearby and definitely don't think I'll go out of my way to go back.

I finally had the chance to dine at Blue Door Seafood Taverna, and it absolutely lived up to my expectations! I went out for dinner with my sister-in-law, and we were both excited to try this spot that I've been hearing so much about. From the moment we walked in, the ambiance was warm and inviting, creating the perfect setting for a cozy dinner. The servers were fantastic--attentive and knowledgeable, they made sure we had everything we needed and offered great recommendations. We started with the octopus appetizer, and let me tell you, it was a solid 10/10! The flavor was incredible, and it was cooked to perfection. I opted for the spinach pie as my appetizer, which was surprisingly generous in size--definitely enough for leftovers! For our entrees, we each had the lamb chops, and wow, they were phenomenal! Another 10/10 dish that I can't recommend enough. And of course, we couldn't skip dessert. It was simply divine--definitely a memorable way to end the meal.Overall, I had a wonderful experience at Blue Door Seafood Taverna, and I can't wait to return! If you come across this review, do yourself a favor and check them out. You won't be disappointed!

We've been eating from Blue Door since Feb 2017 as our first-choice Greek/Mediterranean spot in BK -- mostly take-out. Over the last year or so, the menu has changed quite a bit with the removal of online ordering and for those visiting for the first time, I see no mention of reservations on their site whatsoever which I would think can turn customers away. The most disappointing change is not being able to add protein to a salad which is unheard of. They did add a chicken dish and the fries became a little thicker which I love so, I guess it balances out.Hope things stay this way because overall, it is a go-to of ours.

Amazing food. Pleasant quality I felt like home service. The decor was like a special spot in a sea village of Greece but in Brooklyn. We ate waaay too much good food. We would definitely come here again.

Extremely upset with how the quality of food is at Blue Door after their grand re-opening.My friends and I were frequent visitors of Blue Door for years, and even deemed it as some of the best Greek food in our area of Brooklyn. Not knowing that come 2023 they decided to have a grand re-opening, we went to the restaurant and were disappointed to say the least.- Our favorites that we knew and loved at Blue Door were removed from the menu. Now, this wouldn't be an issue usually, because we all know that things change and menus get refreshed every so often. But upon visiting this new version of the restaurant, it was almost as if half the menu disappeared with nothing replacing it. No more skordalia & no more gyros!- The food quality at Blue Door has severely decreased, along with an increase in pricing. We ordered the zucchini chips (as we frequently have here) and the amount of food on the plate was nearly half what we are used to, but way more money. Also decided to order the avgolemono (lemon soup) and it was extremely rice heavy - almost as if I was consuming porridge instead of soup. These two being staples of my order each time I have Greek made my experience unsatisfactory.- Olive oil isn't considered seasoning and shouldn't be on everything. Every piece of pita that was served was drenched in olive oil, to the point the bread was overly saturated and resulted in a pool of oil all over the plate. This was the case for both the pita with our meals, pita alongside dips for appetizers. The restaurant also seems to believe olive oil is a salad dressing as well (yes, only olive oil - no salt, no lemon/acid, just oil) which made for a greasy, heavy meal. - Service could be better. We waited an extremely long time for someone to take our order and tend to us, but this may just be that the restaurant is understaffed and had no idea how to deal with the Saturday night rush. Overall we were extremely disappointed with our meals - souvlaki had no flavor (although cooked extremely well, it means nothing if it tastes bland) and we got less food for more money (rice isn't included with platters anymore?)Doesn't seem like we'll be returning, which means we'll have to find a new Greek place with solid food.

I wholeheartedly believe that Blue Door Souvlakia is one of the cutest restaurants in Bay Ridge. Its white façade and bright blue door beckon you in to a charming dining room that feels just like a Greek taverna. The overhead lights and bougainvillea set the mood for a lovely meal.Though the restaurant is surprisingly upscale, the prices are still far lower than Manhattan's. Since we don't eat Greek food often, we ordered a smattering of dishes to share- Kolokithokeftedes, Calamari, and Pork Gyro Platter. The meal started with the heaviest dish, which was the Kolokithokeftedes, fried dough balls with zucchini chunks. There was a little too much dough for my liking but they were still very tasty dipped in the tzatziki. Next came the calamari, which shocked us with its size. For $14, we got a bowl of calamari the size of our Gyro Platter. The calamari was as good as it gets and the included fried zucchini slices, fried onion, and fried garlic trapped us into eating excitedly even as we could feel our stomachs filling up before we even reached the main course. By the time we dug into the platter, my stomach was 70% full, but I still enjoyed the crispy roast pork and fresh Greek salad. The platter also came with fries, pita, and a spread of your choice. As we marveled at how delicious everything was, we gave our compliments to the chef for preparing such a memorable meal.

This is my second time here .Pretty good service, atmosphere , blue sangria is great.I had the falafel platter. The falafels are mushy, can't feel any ingredients at all just smell them. It feels as if though the dough isn't fully cooked that mushy. Not to mention I asked for some extra tzatziki sauce and they charged $3 extra just for a sauce!!What kind of cheap stuff is that? Person wants sauce and for a small little addition of sauce 3 dollars really?
