Hung out with one of my favorite people that day and towards the end of the day we realized how hungry we were. She took me to one of her favorite restaurants and after eating there I completely understood why she ranked it a favorite! When we got in, we were greeted with the biggest smile for the young man behind the bar. You can tell its a family owned restaurant with the homey vibe and decor. Once settled we were given chips and salsa, the chips were fresh and hot and the salsa tasted amazing. We ordered drinks and they were so delicious and strong (which i love). For my main i had the enchilada de mole and it was soo good. The Mole sauce was complex and spicy. I loved the flavor profile! The rice and beans were also good. I loooove refried beans and this one didn't disappoint. The portion was also big and i couldn't finish it all so i took it home and had the following day. The Mexican lava cake was also tasty. You can def taste the different in chocolate; Mexican chocolate is much spicier. I would love to go back to Blue corn and try other things off the menu.

Great place for drinks and hanging out! A beautiful wood counter high bar adorns the front of the restaurant. A television presides over the bar playing some sports. Way in the back, there is another super sized television screen playing videos. Looks like from floor to ceiling. Five stars for decor. Several beautiful tubular moving, pink waterfalls graced the center of the room, also going from floor to ceiling! Some super high back booth seating adorns the back side wall. Looked particularly comfy.Tried the burrito. Interestingly unexpectedly I have never seen a burrito top covered in a thick layer of bright orange cheese. My preference would have been no fluorescent orange cheese. Rice was a bit mushy. Beans were also mushy losing their texture and round shape. Burrito was mostly rice with a tiny amount of mushed pinto beans and a small amount of protein. Nothing else inside. The chicken protein was a bit on the dry side. Comes with not enough salsa, a lot of sour cream and some guacamole.Guacamole on the side was already browning on top. I guess that is normal with the passage of time taking it home. But aesthetically, not that appetizing looking. Didn't taste strongly of avocado, muted by other many ingredients like lettuce shavings mixed in, which changed the normally smooth texture. First time I've had this with shredded lettuce in it.Service: Hostess was super nice and friendly. She's great. Five stars for her!

Came for dinner and food was quite good. Classic burger- tasty, my husband enjoyed it. Burger was juicy and cheese perfectly melted. Husband says he may consider getting his burger fixes here rather than the diner we usually frequent.Churrasco steak- came with potatoes and broccoli. The potatoes were tasty and broccoli was good as well. The steak was a bit on the disappointing side. Even though the sides were hot/warm, the steak was actually just room temp like it's been sitting for some time. There was also too much sauce on top of the steak making it a bit too sour for my taste.Side of rice and beans- it was ok. My son loves eating whole beans but I didn't realize the beans in this side were going to be mushed up. He still ate a little bit of it and the rice had flavor as well. Horchata- good! Not too sweetPapaya smoothie- my husband enjoyed it but papaya taste is quite mild and the smoothie was white which I thought was interesting since i thought papaya is usually yellow. But this is the first time I've ordered a papaya smoothie so what do I know. They probably put something else in it as well that makes it more white than yellow.Place is quite roomy. Our waiter was very nice. I would come back again

I am not crying, I just have some sweat in my eye!Okay, I was, but do not tell anybody please. It took a village, but I think I might have finally found a relatively decent Mexican restaurant in Brooklyn. Relatively, because again, I am working with dull tools. The food here is tasty, homemade, and I could not stop shoveling this. I am much appreciated by the delicious chips and salsa that come to your table as they are some of the best I have had in quite a while. Since I saw they offer tacos, I had to try them too. The tacos are plentiful and are worth getting. In my opinion, this is the right size of a taco. These felt right out of San Diego.I also ordered a Burrito Norteña, a northern style burrito. The burrito is of decent size and is served with sour cream, guacamole, and pico de gallo. The three sides all work great and give extra flavor and character to the burrito. I ordered mine with chorizo, which is fine, but I feel this burrito might work best with chicken or steak. Shrimp? Quite possible. This restaurant really needs to hire more staff. It took 30 minutes to get my food, which is highly unacceptable for this cuisine. In my experience, Mexican food should be from kitchen to table in no more than 15 minutes, 20 if the dish requires a little more effort. The staff did say they had a large order to fill in the back (14 burrito takeout order), and apologized for the lengthy wait. Thankfully the food is good, and they owned up to the inconvenience, so I will forgive them.During the weekends, they offer some eclectic brunch items that really seem worth a try. They also offer enchiladas that I must come back and try as well. Now if you excuse me, I need a tissue to dry these tears.

This mom and pop restaurant is a hidden gem. Super underrated with great prices and excellent service. The food is fresh, flavorful, and way better than chipotle- plus, guacamole is included with the burrito at no extra cost. Highly recommend checking it out!

I came back here last week for Karaoke Friday night and it was the best time ever! It's a family restaurant so I brought the whole family including the little one. The first time I came here was for takeout but from now on, I'll try to dine in because the service was the best I've ever had. The waitress was so kind and helpful in recommending things from the menu since it was so hard to choose due to everything sounding so good. My sister and I ordered enchiladas de mole, my husband had seafood soup, and. My daughter had the classic steak and chicken tacos. While waiting for our food, we jammed to the music of this amazing and sipped our pina coladas and horchatas. As appetizer, we had calamari with spicy marinara sauce, which was so good that we I ate the remaining part of the sauce with a spoon. We were having such a good time that before we knew it our food arrived and wowza...our table ended up looking like a feast because of how big portioned each dish was. It was a banquet of various flavors and you could feel the love that was poured into the food with each bite.We conversed with the waitress for a bit when she came by to ask us how our food was and we found out that her aunt is the owner and her father runs the kitchen. We were in awe and told her that she's so lucky to have a dad who can cook this amazing. To end the night, my daughter and I sang Backstreet Boys and all the family that was in the kitchen and bar came to cheer. Then they went on to sing and we cheered them in as well. I felt like I was in those feel-good movies about food, family, and love. This is a special restaurant that I hope continues to grow and succeed!

Nice to have a close by place for tacos. More fulfilling than Los Tacos No. 1 and I love the chips that comes with the Guac. The best i can describe them is they are like shrimp chips, puffy and light but still good enough to pick up the guac.

What a great addition to the neighborhood! We stopped in for some bites and drinks, and ended up with too much food due to the amazing portion sizes. Blue Corn has a full bar and we're excited to try the drinks in the future. But this food....everything was great but the chorizo nachos and sweet and sour wings were unreal. Wing sauce was so unique but these were also the crispiest wings we've had in a while. Can't wait to come back and try more!

We visited today at lunchtime on a Sunday afternoon. We were the only customers in the restaurant. We ordered eggs and after waiting a half hour asked when our food would be coming out and waited another five minutes and walked out without being served. I understand made to order but we were the ONLY customers and still weren't served. The restaurant was freezing and we had to wear our jackets while waiting for the food that never arrived. What a disgrace!!
