My coworkers and I had our annual holiday lunch here recently, and I would have given the place five stars if it weren't for the service. Because the food was very good. Standouts include the shrimp tacos and the tuna tartare, which even the picky eater of our group absolutely loved. The desserts--specifically, the Apple Cider Donuts and Rum Butterscotch bread pudding--were lick-the-plate-clean delicious. What nearly** wrecked the experience was the service. We were there for more than two hours and experienced huge wait times between courses. And it's not like we were a large group -- we were a party of 5 in a restaurant I would describe as cavernous (or "sprawling," according to their website), and the place wasn't even packed. **Giving credit where credit is due: when our waitress brought the check, she apologized for the service--"it's not usually like this," she said--and comped two of our four desserts. Very classy!

Ambiance: this place definitely gave cozy, chill, home vibes which was perfect for our girl dinner. It was mellow and decorated with Christmas lights. Service: our server was Besnik and he was amazing. We asked him for all the food recommendations and told him to surprise us with the appetizer. He continuously checked in on us to make sure that we had an amazing experience which we did. Food: mushroom toast was absolutely phenomenal, the tomahawk was chefs kiss, the ribs fell right off the bone and the Brussels sprouts were tasty. We ate goood and left absolutely stuffed. The dirty martini was my least favorite so I'd probably steer away from ordering that again though. I'd definitely host another girls night dinner here again!

Brunch goals at BLACKBARN in NoMad! This place is a farm-to-table gem with a cozy, barn-inspired vibe that feels like the perfect escape in the city.We went all out with the seafood tower and wagyu steak sandwich--everything was so fresh and seriously delicious. With tons of seating, a big bar area, and private tables tucked away in the back, BLACKBARN is perfect for everything from a brunch date to a big celebration. Definitely worth checking out!19 E 26th St, New York

I been to this restaurant 2x for brunch and it never disappoints. The place it's very big and I like the clean elegant decor. The food it's always great and I love that you can taste the quality of the ingredients. I had the breaded chicken sandwich and not only was it delicious but a very generous portion. I will definitely come back next time I'm in the area.

Blackbarn is one of the most underrated restaurants in NYC and I don't understand how it doesn't have at a minimum 4.5 stars on Yelp. The location is stunning, offering an array of seating from their tavern, main floor, outdoors, and private dining rooms on the sides. I have been a few time both for work and for dinner with friends and each time we always have a fantastic experience. What I look forward to each time is the seasonal menu items - right now items from the apps to drinks to desserts have some summer inspiration to them! Last night we ordered the Roasted Summer Peaches, the Seafood Tower, and the blueberry and black currant ice cream sandwich. The star of the show was the roasted peaches, but I would happily eat everything again! Our waiter was super attentive and helpful the entire evening, which is part of why I love blackbarn so much! The service is always top notch. One of my favorite menu items that we didn't order this time around is the ribs! If it's your first time at blackbarn, they're a must order!

Had a really, really good meal at Blackbarn! We went on an early Saturday evening when the restaurant was quiet and got seated in the tavern area. For starters we had the Truffle Mac & Cheese Croquettes and the Big-eye Tuna Tartare - both very good. For entrees we had the Char Grilled Wagyu and the Chicken Milanese sandwich and enjoyed both very much. The Wagyu steak was prepared perfectly to the medium rare that we wanted but what made the dish especially stand out was the romaine au gratin that it was served with - very creative (the Parmesan fries that came with it were also very good).Topping it off was the wonderful desserts - we had the Chocolate Soufflé, Apple Cider Doughnuts and the Rum Butterscotch Bread Pudding. Will definitely have all of them again.Service was attentive with our empty water glasses being refilled quickly and our server Hemant was very friendly and helpful. Will be back!

Cavernous space, can feelOverwhelming and not the least bit intimate, however, it works for large groups. Entree portions are middle of the road (not small, not large) so if you go in with a normal person's appetite, you'll leave feeling full. Shellfish tower is appropriate for 3-4 guests. The red snapper and dole are adequate portioned and tasty. The filet mignon and butternut squash ravioli are worth it. Brussels sprouts were too oily so skip. Service was attentive and efficient. Would go back for a passionate-less office party or business lunch, maybe take my boss here or a family member from out of town since it's across the street from Madison Sq. Park and the Flatiron District.

Went here with boyfriend for Valentine's Day. Safe to say we left hungry and would not return. The service was great, but the food was extremely underwhelming and just sad to look at and eat. For the price point and how long we waited to get our food, I really would not recommend. Not sure if the valentines menu was just a miss, but I got the mushroom ravioli. It tasted like feet, and was about 6 raviolis at best. My boyfriend got the Amish chicken and it looked so dry and bland. Again, service was nice! But the food was practically unbearable. I almost regret not taking a picture of the food because if I were to have seen a photo of the dishes we received, we wouldn't have went here.
