BK9 is a solid spot if you're craving Caribbean flavors in Brooklyn! The rum punch and cocktails? On point. But the real stars for me were the griot and black rice--so good I had to come back for a second round. I also love that they switch things up with themed menus during events at Barclays; it's a nice touch that keeps things interesting. Now, let's talk about the service. There's no reason to wait to place your order while staff are busy chatting, especially when the place is empty. Unfortunately, this happened not once, but twice. The food is fantastic, but they really need to tighten up on service to match the quality of the kitchen.Would I recommend it? Yes, but patience is required.

The pork griot was incredibly flavorful--tender, perfectly seasoned, and with a nice crispy exterior. The service was excellent and the place was a vibe, making the whole experience even better. I ordered through Grubhub and there was an issue with my order, but they quickly resolved it and once again provided excellent service.Highly recommend!

Nice Caribbean lounge right by the Barclays Center. On the way to dinner my friends and I walked by this place and there was a line forming outside the door. We decided to pop in after the concert we were there to attend. I thought it was just a small bar, but it's actually a full service restaurant with a good number of tables and extra space in the back near an open-air kitchen. We were lucky enough to grab three seats at the bar. This was a Friday night and there was a DJ playing a lot of Caribbean and Afro beats music. He eventually played a little hip-hop when I asked. The bartender Freddie was awesome (forgive me if that's the wrong name). He was efficient and friendly, taking several drink orders at a time and making them pretty quickly. Three mixed drinks totalled over $100 which is insane lol, but I guess it's NYC. We stayed for a while as this place was a great vibe. Definitely more of a 30 and up crowd, which I appreciated. Eventually we ordered some jerk wings and brussel sprouts. The sprouts were pretty basic and unexciting. However, the jerk wings were fire! The seasoning was pretty spicy but the flavor was so good. They came with some sort of cilantro lime sauce which was perfect for cooling. I also loved that the kitchen was open late.Great spot for a chill night out in NYC. It was the perfect place to go post concert to continue the fun, while not doing too much.

The service from start to finish was top tier! We felt welcomed and were guided through menu options before settling. We met the owners and were given a guided tour and history and how this establishment originated. You felt the culture and connectedness of them and the restaurant. They want to uplift the community and offer game nights and opportunities to rent the space. Now let's dive into the most important part the FOOD!!!! The curry mussels were tasty. Each mussel was filled for a nice portion size. They had a unique flavor. My first time having curry mussels. Now let's dive into this showstopper the jerk salmon! It was off the chain. If I could have this once a week I would. There was enough to take home but it was so good I could not help myself! There were a lot of alcohol free options for those sub staining but I had rum punch. It hit the spot and was strong just how I like it. I kept it to a 2 drink minimum. Looking forward to adding this location to my monthly rotation!

Came here on a Saturday evening before a concert. Unfortunately, due to our commute, we missed our reservation. We had to wait about 10 to 15 minutes for an available table. This place is quaint and very conveniently located with street parking. Due to our limited time, we ordered drinks and appetizers only. I ordered the rum punch. It was just okay. I also ordered empanadas, which was okay as well. Friend ordered callaloo and didn't care for it. I would try this place again and order an entree for a full assessment. Service was good.

BK9 is a Brooklyn staple!! The food, service and ambiance are a model to all establishments. The staff and owners are always accommodating. As a weekly regular for the past 10 years, I have NEVER had a bad experience there. Whenever I have visitors from out of town, this is my first stop with them. BK9 will forever be home as they treat me and every one of my guests as family. The food is delicious and fresh. I suggest the Ribeye with Mac n cheese and roasted Brussels sprouts -or- the Red Snapper -or- the Pan Seared Scallops!! #LongLiveBK9

So me and my friends decided to pull up and do our annual Bros' Brunch at BK9. Due to the Holiday weekend (After Christmas) the place was pleasantly not packed. We had full attention from the Bartender and our server, Rosie (Big Ups to her!) I had 2 Hot Toddies, that warmed my soul and help fight off the evil hangover spirits from the day before . The food was delicious. They had their own Caribbean spin on every regular/schmegular typical brunch food one usually gets. I enjoyed my haitian breakfast (see attached photo). I highly recommend this place for brunch.

I wish I could give zero stars. While celebrating a 40th bday at BK9 we received HORRIBLE SERVICE. The staff were not friendly and had a smart comment when asked questions. Our food was brought out in 5 sections 10-15 mins apart (it was a party of 7). When the last person received their food 3 people were done eating. We had to pour our own water because the waitress left the pitcher on the table behind us. Then we asked for a refill and she gave us pink water. I asked why was it pink she said "oh someone used the cranberry juice before me" as if it was ok. I asked for a manager she said she was the manager (if she is good luck with business), she later came back and said someone name Gary "G" was coming to talk to us and he never came. Our bill was over $300 for a waste of time, horrible service, basic food and bad attitudes. They didn't even offer to comp the bill for a horrible job. We were very pleasant paid our bill and left. So here I am warning you all not to waste your time and money.
