This is the spot if you're looking for a traditional Chinese breakfast! My partner and I were craving congee. We got to the restaurant at 10AM and the restaurant was already half full. Everyone had a bowl of congee to themselves so we knew we were in good hands. We got a hot and silky smooth bowl of preserved egg and salty pork congee along with fried dough stick. We ordered a plate of beef rice roll and an order of the pork with crispy skin. Every item was so satisfying and kept us warm on a cold winter day. You cannot go wrong if you order any of these items! This is a no frills restaurant. The servers and workers were very fast and efficient. The food came out amazingly quick and fresh. The chefs were pumping out congee by the cauldrons!

I really wanted to like this place...Very little English spoken here but not a problem. Took forever for server to even acknowledge us. She came to us after serving two Chinese parties that came in after us. Food was good. Portions were very generous. Problem was that they accept only cash. We were not told and did not see any sign about it. Thankfully between two of us, we managed enough to pay. Not a bad place but it could have been better, specially if you ignore all the cooked food on the floor and on the kitchen shelves.

Party of 2 on a Saturday at 2pmWith an A rating showing on the outside window we decided to stop for lunch. We were seated quickly and brought menus. From there it was all downhill. The little old man taking our order was impatient as we perused the menu to decide what we wanted. There was no asking questions. So we order something simple: a) won ton soup and b) chicken lo mein.Meh, nothing special. The waiter never came by to see if we needed anything.I would have like some chili oil as the food was bland. But oh well, we didn't get it. Prices were too high for the amount of food and presentation. We don't need to eat here again when in Chinatown.

Don't expect good service Or for the bathrooms to be squeaky clean But who cares about that when the food is the most authentic Chinese food in the city This spot has been in movies and tv shows and it is a gem!!! Get a whole duck for the table and prepare to sit down with some strangers from the city and enjoy a hot bowl of dumpling soup Absolutely the best dumplings and wontons in the city.I have been coming here since I am a kid and I still love it to this day

I've been visiting this restaurant for years, since I was a child - so my review miiiight be a bit biased, but this is one of the best spots in Chinatown for your Cantonese cuisine fix.Main things that any visitor should know:- This is a cash only restaurant. Please make sure you have enough cash before sitting down and enjoying your meal!- A majority of the workers only speak Chinese. There are few that are able to communicate in English, so if you aren't a Chinese speaker please be patient as it may take a few tries for them to understand you.- A majority of the food is made to order, and good food takes time! If the restaurant is busy (as it often is) you might be waiting an average of 30 minutes for them to prepare your order. My go-tos are the roast meats (duck, pork, chicken - none pictured, but all great), wonton noodle soup, and congee. Wontons are flavorful, congee is smooth and of course, portions are large and perfect for sharing!

What an interesting experience. My husband and I came here to get out of the cold for a while so we ordered the dumpling soup. The broth was awesome, but the pork inside was too pink for either of us to feel comfortable eating. With a degree and a vast background in culinary, it takes a lot for me to not eat something, but this was too pink for me. With the health department recently shutting them down, I guess it shouldn't have been a surprise. Now to the good part. When watching another table order their food, I saw a girl ask her waiter a question. Mid question the waiter turned around and walked away, leaving the customer mystified. This resulted in them leaving because they were so offended.Next- This place is cash only, yet has no signs about it. Luckily enough our waiter told us as she sat us, others weren't as lucky. There is an atm in the restaurant, but then you're paying a fee. The woman next to us went to pay her bill and had no money on her. The waiter proceeded to take this woman to every table in the restaurant to ask them if they could pay her bill for her. Then the waiter took the customers bags and put them in the back until she could pay her bill. The lady then left, I'm assuming to get cash somewhere. My husband and I just felt wildly uncomfortable with how the staff treated the customers.

As of 1/17/25 this restaurant has been closed by the Department of Health. It's ashame because it had good food. Now the other restaurants are busier but hopefully they will re-open.

We went to Chinatown for some authentic Chinese food. We were not disappointed. We had egg rolls, hot & sour soup and we split General's chicken. The portions were huge and the food was fantastic. The service was great and i loved the feel of the place.

This is the local to hit up if you want something warm, delicious, and affordable. I ordered the Roasted Pork Haw Fun in Soup and the pork was extremely juicy and tender. The Hawfun noodles were cooked perfectly and the soup was seasoned well with a touch of sweetness. This is a very fast paced restaurant, and the food comes out quick!

I've been going here for years. The food is still pretty good (my favorites were the congee with youtiao/fried dough), but the service is worse than ever. Servers barely acknowledge you and they act like your entire presence there is a burden. During my last visit here, I had to ask twice to get any water, she looked super annoyed both times I asked, and when she finally dropped off our water she made a "go away" hand-wave gesture directly in my face and muttered something in Chinese.Additionally, there were lipstick stains on the glass of tea they gave me, but I didn't even want to point it out to them anymore since they probably wouldn't have done anything about it anyway. This place used to have servers who were nice to me up until a year ago, but I guess they left.
