Cozy, cash only mom and pop shop with pretty much just a counter and kitchen where the workers are rapid firing orders. They speak Vietnamese here too so it's 1) very authentic; and 2) makes me feel at home. The best part is they sell Vietnamese items that are hard to find elsewhere in NYC. They even sell Banh Tet/Banh Chung around Lunar New Year time too, which is what keeps me coming back here. The banh mis, desserts and other snacks are good too! Highly recommend this place!

My mom's Facebook recommendations were on point tbh. Never fails, any trip we take there comes a time when my mom is feening for some Vietnamese food. We were exploring china town so it was the perfect day. The shop is small and personable. There were 2 workers at the time of our visit. We got the Banh Mi Dac Biet (the special combo) with extra pate. UGH it was sooo good. We had to stop by a second time before heading to the airport.

I was recently introduced to Banh Mi Co Ut by a friend and it has quickly become my favorite Banh Mi place in the city. The bread is always perfect with a nice crunch on the outside and soft buttery bread on the inside which matches perfectly with quality of the cold cuts and the pickled veggies. I usually go with the Banh Mi Thit Do Cha Lua but I am looking forward to coming back and trying the other sandwiches, spring rolls, and desserts. They also serve Vietnamese coffee which is a must and not overly sweet like other spots. They service is always super friendly and fast even though they make the sandwiches fresh on the spot!

Had heard good things about this place so I stopped by on the weekend. No frills cash only spot with really great banh mi bread. I got the #3, and it was ready within a few minutes. Good flavors, although I do wish the meat had been sliced a bit thicker. Overall pretty good banh mi in NYC at a very affordable price.

Don't come for me... lol I like their original banh mi... with the extra pate... more than the version at Banh Mi Saigon... the bread is crisp, soft inside and just the right amount of texture to fillings. Yes - I know BMS fills it up... I just like this version slightly more... perhaps it's the pate... idk... Tiny cozy shop... runs by like 2 people, small operation but efficient enough, albeit a tad slow... just make sure you're not in a rush. Service is fine, no complaint. They now have a sib restaurant on Christie St that serves your stock viet food. (Haven't tried but heard it's good from Chinatown friends). I've also tried their ice viet coffee... wow, packs a wake up call in a cup! Can't have it after 2pm... won't be sleeping. Don't sleep on this mom & pop! #banhmi#thebread#chinatown#nyceats

On the journey to find the best banh mi in the city, I arrived here per someone's recommendation.BANH MI #1A solid banh mi, although definitely not my favorite. I think they could have been filled in more, and the bread wasn't super fluffy/warm/clearly fresh and it left a bit more to be desired to be honest. I hear this place is also good for some of their other Vietnamese food items that you can't really find elsewhere, and so I want to return for that. I think this place is a bit of an institution and should continue to serve some authentic bites to the public. If and when I return I will try some of the things that are hard to find elsewhere. Also if you're new to Vietnamese food don't miss the vietnamese coffee. It's an experience.

Very small spot only for take out but they have a huge selection of banh mi's and snacks. Each banh mi was loaded with protein but the bread was too tough for my liking.

Excellent - friendly staff rushing to fulfill orders. Fresh ingredients, flavorful meats, sweet, salty, savory, and great touch of sourness from the pickled veggies. The bread crunch is memorable and warm meat filling pairs well with the fresh cilantro and cucumber. One of my favorite spots for Banh Mi. Hands down. Bring cash.

CASH ONLY - absolutely worth it every time! I always order 5 of the "Banh Mi Special for tomorrow" (pickled radish/carrot and cilantro packed separately so the sandwich does not get soggy). This way I can have one for every day of the week as my work lunch at the office... or share when I have company visiting.

Absolutely love Banh Mi Co Ut over Banh Mi Saigon. Their special combo banh mi is so good. They remove the bread filling so it's very thin which we like very much. My man and I both 100% agree we like Co Ut better. Also, tried their papaya salad and omg, the dressing is authentic and it tastes just like it should...The lady there was very friendly and nice so that's always great.Had such a wonderful experience today, that we are going try their sister restaurant, Kitchen Co Ut, next week
