A good eat filling you up no doubt plate of food. I ordered my pepper shrimp chow mein nd the shrimps portion wasnt enough for the large amount of chow mein given. I was trying to find the difference between chow mein and lo mein. It seems the same at the establishment. My group ordered the jerk chicken fried rice, which was not bad. Good seasoning on the chicken nd the rice is good flavor. The bbq chicken lo mein and just chicken lo mein was also just good.

No frills in and out service authentic Guyanese Chinese food . .I visited for take out today after 8pm. I've been coming to this restaurant for a few years now , and the food is always on point . Well seasoned and lots of flavor. The reason why I gave 4 stars instead of 5 is because this time around the food was a bit more spicer than usual, and my spice tolerance level is bare minimum lol. Other than that my family and I enjoyed the food . We order a small curry chicken fried rice and a small house special fried rice DELICIOUS . The total for both meals came up to $30.25 a bit on the pricy side but hey everything has gone up this day and age so I totally understand. Friendly staff as always . It was a pleasure and I will always return.

The Chinese diaspora is so vast you can expect to find interpretations of Chinese food in just about every corner of the [globalized] world, so it wasn't surprising for me to find this West Indian Chinese restaurant in the Little Caribbean neighborhood of Brooklyn. At first glance, the menu sections read like one you'd find at a typical Chinese restaurant-- lo mein, fried rice, meat, seafood, appetizers. Look more closely and you'll see that the lo mein can be paired with all kinds of jerked meat, including jerk pork, jerk lamb, jerk fish, jerk shrimp, and jerk wings. There's a whole separate section for just West Indian dishes like curry goat and roti with rice and peas. Wanting to try dishes that I thought were general fusions of both regional cuisines, I ordered the jerk pork lo mein and fried snapper with rice and peas. The lo mein was overcooked to the point of having no al dente for my taste, but it had good flavor and my dining companion thought the jerk pork was really nice. The protein portion in my snapper dish was really generous, well seasoned, and surprisingly had no fishy odor, though the bed of rice and peas it came on was very plain tasting. This is strictly a takeout spot, save for a couple of seats by the front window, so there's not much to say in the way of decor other than that it's very much a no frills hole in the wall. While I was there, multiple patrons came in that were completely unmasked, in a neighborhood with a high covid rate, and the person working the counter had their mask around their chin. I didn't feel safe in the small, hot, not well ventilated space, and the food took a very long time to come out. I ended up waiting outside after the 3rd maskless customer came into the business. Clearly it's a popular neighborhood spot but should I return I'll plan to wait outside for my food.

I grew up in Sunset Park with the rest of the Chinese population, and so it was interesting to me to find a place that did Carribean (Guyanaese)/Chinese fusion. I heard whispers of a "Jerk Chicken Lo Mein" being offered, and immediately started salivating at the idea, so my childhood friend and I came to check it out. Both being raised Chinese, we were interested to see how it would differ. We came on a Friday evening, and realised it was your average Chinese takeout joint but with the colours of the Carribeans (yellows and greens). The menu was impressive, we ended up ordering the aforementioned lo mein with an order of ox tail, which came out to ~31$.Even in takeout, everything retained its smell and flavour. We divvied up halves, and still weren't able to finish it all. The jerk chicken had all of the spices you expect, cooked to the right amount of tenderness and heat, but the lo mein provided that textural experience you look for, sopping up that amazing sauce. This dish is truly something else, and I could slap myself for not knowing at it earlier. The ox tail was also AMAZING -- super tender, lots of sauce, and even though we didn't get a side of rice, I just made some on my own and finished it the next day. My only criticism is that the noodles they use are a bit more fettucini-styled than I'd like (flat, thicker noodles, as opposed to rounded, soft lo mein noodles). It's not the biggest deal, and I understand you make do with what ingredients you have.I'll definitely be coming back, and have been waiting all weekend so I can get it for lunch special on Monday. Enjoy!

Don't let the newer, fancier restaurants popping up along Flatbush Avenue overshadow this hidden-in-plain sight gem. They are consistently banging out traditional Guyanese-style Chinese dishes along with their staple West Indian dishes. For those we are familiar with The Bamboo Restaurant, please don't confuse the two. This one continues to shine while the former has fallen off majorly. All of their dishes are prepared with the traditional Guyanese seasoning. Their fried rice, their shining star on their menu, is perfectly cooked every time. Regardless of what meat or seafood is paired with it, it is a HIT. Their lo mein is pretty good and needs an honorable mention. When I want my food more spicy, I will pour a small amount of their pepper sauce so that I can take the flavor to another level. I often will pair my meal with an order of phoulourie with tamarind sauce which they will warm up for you. Their curry chicken roti is also pretty good. My sister highly recommends it!I would recommend anyone who wants to try Guyanese cooking to definitely stop in for some takeout when you are in the area. The food is always good. The customer service is friendly. The prices are right! You will definitely get your money's worth here especially if you are able to catch their Lunch Special!

Simply good West Indian and Chinese food. To be clear this is not a new age fusion spot both cuisines are authentic. I have been here several times over multiple years. Not being a Brooklynite my visits are infrequent but I have never been disappointed.Yesterday's visit was no different, I was in the area for lunch so Stew chicken and Callaloo rice was my pick. It has been a long time but the food was still amazing. The service was nice & the place is still well kept. The only difference I notice since my last visit (it's been some time) is that they added a shop at the front of the shop to sell custome jewelry and accessories. If you are not aware of NYC rents and the need for some business to produce extra income this could be a little of putting. HEY AS LONG AS MY FOOD IS STILL GOOD I'm OK WITH IT!

I have no idea about the Chinese side of the menu, but the West Indian items are mostly excellent. The small items are large and the larges are unfinishable for most. The goat and chicken curries with rice and peas are first-rate, excellently spiced with flavors I'm not qualified to identify. On the last visit it was difficult to miss out on the smoky coating of the jerk chicken but I wanted to expand my knowledge of all things jerk, so I went with the jerk pork. I've never seen this formulation before, using juicy Chinese-type roast pork, for a compelling item that you probably shouldn't have every day.
