I came here to celebrate my birthday. They seated us when half our party got there, which is great. The space is pretty large and the ambiance is cool looking. I liked the blue chairs and the art on the wall and they also have outdoor seating which is first come first serve. What I didn't realize was that they only have set menus for brunch and you have to pay either 30 or 50 for what you get. Of all the food that we got the fish amritsari and the lamb kheema were good.

I had this place bookmarked and I was finally in the area to check it out. I got seated right away even though my party wasn't complete. It was a Wednesday night so maybe that's why it wasn't packed. I got to choose where to sit, and it was a strange area right next to the door. Once we ordered our food, our plates were shuffled around and one had peanut shell casings under a cloth napkin along with utensils. It was very weird!! I just took another plate from a different table and put that one to the side. If you see my picture, you'll see what I mean. Our food didn't come at once, but one at a time. I can't eat tomatoes, so told them that so I made sure not to order it and that eliminated a lot of dishes. I got the Murgh Tikka (twice), saag, and bread basket. I liked the Tikka as it had a lot of flavoring and it had chicken. The chicken was very tender and a good portion size. We were full after the bread basket. The saag, I wasn't that fond of. Overall, it was okay.

Used to love baar baar.Been there a few times. The recent couple of visits forced me to update my review. Was there last sunday evening for dinner and had a horrible experience overall. The quality of the food has gone down badly.Service was terrible. Our waiter kept forgetting the things we ordered. He was very inattentive.Only one dish we ordered was upto the mark(Paramsingh da meat).Rest everything was mediocre. The chicken small plate and cauliflower koliwada were so bad.The chicken was very dry and the cauliflower koliwada was inedible.Felt like eating raw cauliflower with no seasoning whatsoever. With so many amazing restaurants of this type popping all over NYC,this place is not worth your time or money.

Loved the vibes and food here! Can't wait to return for tasty dishes and good music. Vegetarian options galore and the perfect place to celebrate something or just have a great time and a great meal. Service is good, and I wish I could have tried more. The jackfruit burger was an absolute hit with us, it hit the spot and had a nice aloo (potato) burger taste. I wouldn't skip out on the paneer chili roll - so tasty and crunchy. Definitely a great paneer centric appetizer. The chicken tikka tacos were also delicious and filling. Also loved the live appetizers - there was bhel, chicken tikka tacos, and pani puri, which were all amazing (and probably what filled me up quickly!!) I came for a private party so I was gladly able to try a lot of dishes and I truly cannot wait to return for another great meal. Keep in mind around 2pm brunch, Baar Baar gets loud and the dancing begins! If that isn't for you, book your reservation for earlier in the day. Glad I finally tried this place!

We've been here before but don't recall the food experience to be honest. This is in regards to the drinks, they were okay. Overpriced & not too flavorful as you'd expect from the "paan" flavor that you're so hoping to experience. Also saw the bartender make the paan drink & literally the ice is as big as the glass. I was like you can't be serious that's like few sips of drink that's it.

Everything from the service to the ambiance to the food was top tier. I'm shocked that the Star rating in Yelp isn't above a 4 - while I was worried it would be overhyped, the food exceeded my already high expectations. The diced lamb appetizer was amazing and the chicken in the meat platter practically melted in my mouth. They were also super accommodating with allergies and made sure to clearly separate things out for me. The biryani was overflowing with flavor and the lamb fell right off the bone and was so tender. The drinks were also strong yet delicious!! If you're looking for a fun place to celebrate a special occasion, the staff will also make sure you have an amazing time.

This place was okay. Came on a Saturday afternoon. Sat outside which was pleasant and the service was good and consistent. Inside the music was very loud and it just didn't make sense for a Saturday afternoon. The menu was set where you pick an entree and can have unlimited stationed appetizers. They had a pani puri station, chaat station, and a keema pav bhaji station the day I went. Mains were quite heavy on filler foods. I tried a fish and chips like dish which was crisped well and had a tasty batter. My friends got paneer which was majority cream and two large cubes of paneer and lots of naan. Just felt like lots of filler food and was very pricey for not much else. Apps plus main was $39 pre tax & tip. Seemed excessive for what we got. Wouldn't consider returning as there are plenty of other Indian restaurants to pick from.

Came here for brunch with some friends. The "live stations" are good (I liked the pani puri), and the entrees were decently sized. There wasn't anything spectacular, and the service was not the most friendly or attentive.

Might be the best Indian food I've ever had! I came to Baar Baar during Restaurant Week and didn't have high expectations, but I was completely blown away. The ambiance is nicely casually relaxed, perfect for a comfortable dining experience. The staff was attentive and friendly, adding to the overall positive experience.I started with the dahi puri and pork ribs. The dahi puri was superb--light with a delightful crunch. The pork ribs were incredibly tender and fell right off the bone. For the main course, I had the butter chicken with garlic naan. The butter chicken was delicious, and it was even better when dipped in the naan. It melted in my mouth, with a perfect kick of spice at the end.For dessert, we tried the Mango Chili Sorbet and Coconut Payasam Tres Leches. The mango chili sorbet was refreshingly unique with a touch of spice, while the Coconut Payasam Tres Leches was sweet but not overly so, with a rich coconut flavor.I can't wait to come back here!

I've heard about baar baar pretty often so I was excited to see that they were participating in Restaurant week. We ordered from the restaurant menu and really enjoyed the canape we got, bright flavors and lots of contrast. For the appetizers we ordered the tuna which was really small but very flavorful as well as the lamb keema. The bread that comes with the lamb keema was perfectly soft and pillowy, the dish itself was also on the small side (tasted kinda like sloppy joes with the ground meat on soft bread)For entrees we ordered the butter chicken, which was not very good... tasted very sweet and tomatoe-y. The goat do pyaza was very tasty though. For dessert we ordered the chocolate cake (which is just half a serving of cake as noted by other yelpers) and the coconut tres leches. Both were pretty good. The restaurant is beautiful on the inside and the service is great, I did notice the man in the bathroom handing out paper towels...Overall, I thought Baar baar was pretty dissapointing. I heard great things about it but the food was not good. The ambiance and service are great but the food was just not what I was expecting.
