Had Valentines Day dinner here and it was AMAZING. Beautiful restaurant. We were seated on the first floor but in a weird corner spot by this potted plant. When our server would come talk to us he had to awkwardly hover to talk and was fighting for his life with the leaves. They start you off with a complimentary mezze spread. We ordered the zucchini chips (serves with a tzatziki spread in the middle which we totally didn't see), branzino, filet mignon, sides: asparagus and potatoes and finished off with the layered chocolate cake. All of it was delicious. The service was also outstanding. Such attention to detail. After eating the chips I would wipe my fingers on the napkin and one of the servers noticed. He brought me a tablet napkin. So thoughtful. Would absolutely return and recommend. Pricey but worth it.

As always, they started us off with hummus and pita. We got Avra chips again and this time, it came warm! Such an improvement on what is already a fantastic appetizer. The salmon and tuna tartare were both good but I'm a sucker of salmon so that has my vote.I got the Alaskan halibut, which had an interesting side of spinach + tomato sauce. The halibut was very tender and finely seasoned, but the side wasn't to my personal taste. They gave us dessert on the house - the 4 that are on the lunch prie fixe. The strawberry cheesecake is good although the strawberry jelly is not. The baklava isn't crunchy and the orange cake is poor. However, I tried the chocolate cake for the first time here and boy is it an indulgent, deep, but not overly sweet cake. It is also huge so I took half home even after quite a few people took some bites. The vanilla Gelato that came with it was good too.

Excellent experience on a whim. Rainy, cold night in NY opened up a table and we lucked out. The restaurant itself is beautiful but the service and food could have been offered in a warehouse and still 5 stars. Omar was knowledgeable, attentive, comfortable with whatever our preferred pacing. Halibut was buttery and fresh. Greek salad bright and flavorful. Halumi- which Omar actually brought out and then immediately back to the kitchen because he decided it needed more hiney drizzle- was fabulous. Had to try the zucchini chips and they did not disappoint; light, warm, super fresh tzatziki. Coveted the truffle fries on the next table. Obviously not bright enough to save room for the 16 layer chocolate cake but will not make that mistake next time. Only minor miss is management's choice of Pepsi vs Coke products but that seems to generally be weird NY thing.

Located right across the street from Radio City, the seafood here is fresh and yet excellent. My friend made a reservation for Saturday evening and we were seated promptly upon arrival. ORDERED:Tuna tater - It was very fresh Grilled octopus - this is prob my favorite. It was delicious Lobster pasta - it was tasty. I love how they have all the lobster meats out. Prosecco - sparkly and refreshing SERVICE: The service was excellent although our waiter disappeared in between and someone else has to sub in to take our main order. Other than that, everything was perfect. AMBIANCE: Very elegant.

Lunch Review: Wonderful three course prefix lunch special for $38. In addition to the lunch special, you are also served a complimentary hummus plate with some crunchy pita bread. Avra offers a lot of healthy options and they do not skimp on the portions. I loved the Greek Salad and Lavraki! Everyone left full and happy with their choices. Expect the lunch to take about 1.5 - 2 hours (at least on a Saturday). They do not rush you which is appreciated. Our server was very attentive and kept our water glasses full and plates cleared. I would highly recommended Avra for a great lunch at a nice restaurant in the Rock Center area.

Stellar food, excellent service and an exceptional dining experience. I've been for lunch twice at the bar both times and LOvEd the restaurant and the service! It's one of my favorites in midtown! The Greek salad with a potion, the hummus platter , the desserts! I loved it all! The ambience is upscale and comfortable, definitely welcoming. It's a great place to have lunch or dinner.

Amazing service and staff who are very attentive and friendly. When you walk in, it feels very elegant and high end. The lunch pre fixe menu is so worth it at $38 pp comes with appetizer, entree , and dessert. Ordered their Avra white wine and it tasted like a pino grigio. Very refreshing and pairs well with seafood. Salmon tartar was not the freshest but everything else was good. The salmon was cooked very well while the grilled calamari was delicious. Grilled branzino was our favorite. The cute waiter was nice enough to give us fruits to pair with the bakalava and strawberry cheesecake.

I came here for a work dinner and it was lovely. We were seated upstairs and had a long table to ourselves. Service was good. Servers immediately asked us for our drink orders. We had a prefix menu. I had a passion fruit cocktail and one with an egg white (I forgot the name). The passion fruit one was better! It was sweet but not too much. What we had: - Greek salad: I loved this! It was so fresh and light. -Tzatziki, Hummus, and Melintzanosalata spreads - crispy calamari: I feel like some places don't know how to nail down calamari. This was fine, nothing crazy good. - Grilled salmon: This was good- Grilled chicken: not too dry - grilled lamb chops: These were good, not dry. - grilled vegetables: This was good! - AVRA roasted potatoes: these were like thick French fries. It was seasoned very well. - AVRA Chips: These were pretty crispy chips, which I appreciated. - CHILEAN SEA BASS SOUVLAKI: This was so good!- Selection of AVRA homemade sweets: this came with fruit, olive oil cake, baklava, and sorbet or ice cream. Overall, I had a great experience! The restaurant is spacious and was beautifully decorated.
