Wonderful dinner experience from start to finish! So happy and grateful to have scored a reservation here courtesy of my wonderful husband who was so quick to grab the seats. We had the full dinner experience in the basement downstairs. The experience lasted from about 5:30pm to 8pm.There has clearly been an enormous amount of thought put into the guests' experience from the moment you step in to your last bite. Atomix is the first michelin restaurant I've been to that actually leans into educating guests by combining information with hands-on experience. The pre-dinner introduction to the kitchen's ingredients and the distilled jang tasting made such a big difference in my enrichment throughout the night. I was actually able to pick out the dishes that used the jang that I tasted during the pre-dinner intro, which I thought was super cool!Another thing I liked about my experience at Atomix was that they print out a collection of cue cards about each dish, which contains a short story for the dish and all the ingredients included that the guest can read at their own leisure as they wait for the course to be brought out. I find this very empowering because often times when servers verbally communicate the dish, I often end up forgetting or mishearing what they say and can't refer back to it when I'm actually eating. I found myself reading and re-reading each cue card multiple times throughout the night and had a lot of fun trying to find hints of each ingredient listed. Not to mention the gorgeous artwork that is featured on the backside of each card. So useful, efficient, and tasteful!Every dish was incredible - if I had to pick one to highlight I'd say that the dessert dish with Persimmon and Black Truffle was my favorite due to its uniqueness. This is my first time seeing black truffle used in a sweet dessert dish and it was executed beautifully.Thank you Atomix team for doing what you do!

This feels a bit odd to throw this review here, but I do hope this helps someone out in their fine-dining-experience-planning. We were eager to see what the fuss was about Atomix with its 2 Michelin stars and #6 ranking on the world's best list.Came in for an 8pm reservation for the chef's tasting ($395pp) and while the meal started off strong, we left somewhat baffled, and not at all in a good way. Cocktails - great! Three of us grabbed incredibly well crafted cocktails, but one of our friends really didn't like her order (the drink ended up tasting like kombucha), and the server really didn't give her a breath of a moment to say she would like something else after he handed her the tasting glass... before giving her the pour. We loved the cards/artwork that accompanied each course. The starters were fantastic, a really strong start, but at some point the courses were either very average or too inventive to be fit for our... layperson palates? The service throughout our meal really impacted our experience - it was noticeably worse as the night went on. There was a VIP of sorts seated at the bar, and we and the other guests would watch them receive highly attentive service, recommendations, or tastes of things and it changed the vibe quite a bit. Sorry we are... plebes? We kept to ourselves, but what an interesting thing to experience at this price point. Our winter menu consisted of, in order:-Mussel, bluefin tuna, cheungguk jang (best bite all night)-Yukpo (imagine an elevated jerky cheeseburger burger bite, also good)-Striped jack with jellyfish and pepper-Monkfish liver with banana and perilla -Langoustine (good but surprisingly boring)-Golden eye snapper with turnip and cod milt (it was missing something texturally)-Kohlrabi with black truffle (it was fine)-Mackerel with sea cucumber rice (it was fine)-Squab with kalguksu (also fine)-Quince dessert - delicious - Sujeonggwa - second best bite of the nightIf you're coming here to chase stars, do so with caution, as we were truly a bit surprised by how much we did not like our experience. We've been to a handful of two Michelin star restaurants that had us floating on clouds with how creative, beautiful, and delicious the food was - all with immaculate service - so this was a real shocker.

I want to preface and say that is my favorite I have ever been to in my entire life...okay now that I've said it, we can move on to the real review!I have been to Atomix twice so far - once in March 2023 and another this past Saturday for their collab dinner with Kjolle from Peru. Honestly, if I could describe both of these experiences in one word, it would be this: magical. This is a restaurant that has made me feel things that I didn't know I could feel, with the food just completely blowing me away both times I've been. It's crazy to think they could make Korean food, which is already one of my favorite cuisines, into one of the most amazing, fantastical flavor journeys I've ever had at a restaurant. I still remember distinctly this kohlrabi dish from the first time I wentthat literally blew my socks off, and this comes from someone who absolutely LOVES meat. Another dish that really got me was the dish with fish dish with probably the most decadent, delicious, savory broth I have had in a restaurant in NYC. This most recent time even for the Kjolle x ATOMIX collab, one of the latter's dishes was this super delicious wagyu jeon rice that was contained in a hollowed squash that truly gave my taste buds a run for its money. I could go on, but you get the idea; the food is here is no joke, and is worth every penny (honorable mention are definitely the drinks too; all the cocktails I got here were expertly made and rivaled even some of my favorite cocktail bars in the city, and that is saying something coming from a major cocktail geek like myself). But what is a restaurant without its hospitality, and MY GOODNESS, were these people some of the nicest, friendliest, caring, sociable people I have ever met. I still remember the woman who served us and chatted with my partner and I when I went for the first time; I really wish I knew her name because I loved her (but I didn't see her this most recent time :( ). This past Saturday though, my brother and I got to chat with most, if not all, their staff, and I wanted to specifically shout out Khoi and Arni (I don't know if I am spelling these names right I'm so sorry in advance) for being so amazing and chatting with us like we were old friends. I can't even begin to explain how that really made my experience all that much better. And finally, with the high price point this experience comes for, the restaurant itself also does not disappoint with its architecture, layout, and overall atmosphere, which gave minimalist, chic, professional, but also ritzy casual at the same time. Never once did I feel out of place; rather, I felt like I belonged, and I would come here more often as a regular if a) I had an income and b) I lived in NYC full time HAHAAnd so, here finally concludes the review of my absolute favorite restaurant and the one place I truly would recommend spending a fortune coming to, because in the end, it'll truly be worth every single dollar you spend!

Atomix is a culinary tour de force in the heart of NYC, offering a transcendent Korean fine dining experience that seamlessly fuses time-honored flavors with avant-garde techniques. The meticulously curated tasting menu is an exhibition of innovation, with each course not only a treat for the palate, but also a work of art. The cocktail pairings are thoughtfully crafted to enhance, rather than overshadow the thoughtful dishes--elevating the entire dining experience. Lastly, the staff was incredible--attentive, knowledgeable, and warm which made the experience memorable and incredibly fun.

I thought I booked the main dining room but i actually booked the more limited seatings for the experimental experience on the second floor. So this review is only for the second floor experience. The entrance took me a bit to find, but the decor inside was so interesting that it reminded me of just a home kitchen. There were only 6 seats in total by the counter. And the whole experience was very intimate. I like how they didn't charge extra for the beverage pairing. And they offer alcohol and nonalcoholic options. We both opted in for nonalcoholic for this time, and def got a chance to taste many interesting tea fusion drinks. A few of them were quite foreign whereas most of them were refreshing and juicy. Food in general was creative and fresh. As most of these courses were experimental I can't say I enjoyed every one of them but none of them was below par. I do remember I was very impressed by the course with a baked salmon - yes salmon - that was perfectly made with cooked outside but medium raw inside and it was absolutely tender, non fishy, and I ate it as if I was eating a soufflé. I also enjoyed all the other fish courses - very interesting mix of juices, French fusion, but leaving few Asian and Korean ingredients as well. One course I personally didn't enjoy as much was the last hot course - the wagyu burger steak. The fact that burger steak could naturally be more cooked, to me, cut the score for wagyu which is a type of things you don't want to be super cooked. The use of spicy chives also imposed a very strong flavor that took away some of the mushroom flavors- don't get me wrong I like chives, but in this case it's a chive driven flavored dish instead of other stuffs cooked along with it. Service was top notch. Everyone was extremely nice and accommodating. Overall great experience. Would come back and check again on the lower floor one time when possible.

Was able to score a reservation to the #1 restaurant in the country and #6 in the world! Cocktails (5/5): really loved their unique cocktails, we ended up ordering 5 of them! Food (3.5/5): I thought the food was good, but for the price point of $425 I wasn't as amazed as I expected to be. I would say 5/11 courses wowed me. Also wasn't a fan of having two desserts, would've preferred an extra savory dish instead. Overall I had a great experience at my first two star Michelin restaurant and can't wait to try their other restaurants.

My favorite restaurant in all of NYC currently. I recommend the Bar since it includes a drink pairing and is really great value. I always leave feeling fully satisfied, while the Chef's Counter makes me want to keel over and explode. Menu rotates seasonally but they keep some of the favorites over multiple menus (which is fantastic). They've had the egg chawanmushi for a while now, and that one is definitely one of my favorites. The arctic char was great while it lasted, but I actually love the fish dish that replaced it even more (the accompanying broth has a nice little kick to it). The monkfish liver bite in September 2024 is one I'd bring back--one of my favorite amuse bouche from here ever! I'm also a huge fan of the current potato pancake on the menu and the main course.

Amazing food and a true experience that comes with it!! First of all, pretty cool that the restaurant is hidden inside a brownstone. I was super confused when they called us downstairs to the basement because I fully thought that the dinner was going to happen at the bar on the ground floor lol. They then proceeded to show us a display of fresh produce and seafood that would be used in the dinner and explained a bunch of things that I don't remember at all because I was mesmerized by the display. Also gave us shots of two different liquids to taste, which I think were some form of kombu(?) but I could be misremembering. The dinner itself comes with a bunch of beautiful cards - one in the beginning as a thank you from the chef, another with the full menu for the day, and one given with each course to explain the dish. Each card has an aesthetic print on the back which was cool, and they provide a little box to keep them all at the end. They also had everyone pick a pair of chopsticks from the chef's collection. All the food was immaculate, of course. Both me and my bf's favorite savory course was the one consisting of "nettle egg jjim, sugar snap pea, freshwater eel, and nuruk". The eel was so perfectly done and snap pea was nothing like we've ever tasted before. Def the most memorable and unique for us. We also both tried cocktails a la carte but I didn't feel like they were memorable. Service was of course top tier.

Very much enjoyed our Atomix experience--beautiful dining room, spectacular service (very impressed with the natural small talk interspersed with the courses), impeccably-presented food and drink, and innovative flavors and textures.Upon arrival to Atomix's brownstone, we were ushered past the bar, down a flight of stairs, where the fresh ingredients for our upcoming meal were presented. We learned a bit about the process of making soy sauce and tried two types (diluted), which were like an umami broth. After being seated and ordering drinks, each diner picked a pair of chopsticks from the chef's collection. (I was a bit surprised that none were Korean-style.)Each course is served with a course-specific spoon* along with a beautiful card, which showcases the dishware Atomix sources from a talented artist on one side and explains the ingredients and inspiration behind the course on the other side. (You also receive one with a thank you from the chef at the beginning and another with the full night's menu.) At the end, Atomix provides a card case to keep them in to remember the dining experience.*Researched and tested by the chef and staff!

Number 8 on the world's best restaurants!! You (and I) might ask...who am I to give 4 stars instead of 5? This is where the power of a lot of reviews and perspectives makes a lot of sense. There are different tastes and likes and that gets factored in and normalized over a large number of reviews. This is written from the perspective of someone who generally is not a big fan of seafood. I could still appreciate the food and thought it was incredible. Everything from the presentation to the flavors was amazing. There were a couple of dishes that were too "fishy" for my liking, hence the 4-star review. Please forgive me!The service was spectacular. Super friendly and attentive. My favorite dishes were the wagyu (of course) and the sweet potato ice cream.
