Cozy restaraunt, small tables, friendly staff, and really good food! Definitely enjoyed my time here, and the fresh kimchi was really good as well. Drinks are pretty nice as well!FOOD:Mak-Hwe (8/10) - Really fresh raw fish that you get to wrap up and add things on as you'd like. The uni (additional) here was really fresh as well, so a nice added bonusScallop DIY Gimbap (9/10) - I love scallop and seaweed, so couldn't go wrong here. So fun to make it yourself!Soy Braised Lotus Root Salad (9/10) - Super refreshing, and the lotus went so well with the salad. Must try!!Seafood Butter-Gui (6/10) - Definitely a lot of butter. Seafood i thought was okay, but the pita was so delicious and unexpected.Seafood Japchae (6/10) - Kind of soupy japchae (not what I expected) and not my favorite dish here!

Food - 4/5 Went here for dinner and we got the Scallop DIY gimbap, Yook Hwe, Dolsot Al Bap and the Pork Steak. The scallop DIY gimbap was cool in concept but came with thinly sliced scallops which left you craving for me. Flavor profile was excellent though. The Yook Hwe was really good and different than what I'm typically used to. It was mixed with baby octopus and a wasabi mayo, it was fresh and really flavorful. The octopus added a good crunchy texture. The Dolsot Al Bap was unique. The uni cream mixed with the fish eggs gave it a very seafood forward taste which I was a fan of. You have to eat it when it's hot otherwise it loses some of its flavor. And the pork steak was well cooked and tender. It wasn't too fatty and paired really well with the sauces. Service - 5/5 Servers were friendly and knowledgeable when recommending dishes. Our needs were attended to and water was filled frequently Ambiance - 4/5 The restaurant's decor is trendy and not too dimly lit. It has a nice aesthetic vibe when you enter. It does get a little loud but overall good place for dinner.

Absolutely loved the warm feel of the decor and place. Seating is limited and a little tight, but it's very cozy and homey inside. Scallop gimbap was something unique to try but the pieces were sliced veryyyyy thin and also I didn't feel like they had a distinct taste, so I probably wouldn't get it again. I did quite like the chungyang mayo that it came with though. Seafood pancake was a classic, and nicely crispy, with average amount of seafood. Duck bulgogi was a little on the greasy side and not the texture I was expecting (it didn't have the roast duck taste but maybe that was an unjustified assumption on my part - it was like pork or beef, but slightly more chewy). Star of the show was dolsot albap. The flavor was AMAZING with lots of flavor profiles and a rich seafood taste. And the bonus was the rice getting beautifully crispy! Next time though I would not add on uni - I thought it would be incorporated into the dish but it was just put on another plate on the side for you, and it also just was mid lol.Staff was helpful in clearing our plates and helping us fit everything on the table since we ordered a decent amount and the table was small. Also, shoutout to the waitress who brought over the dolsot albap and asked me if I wanted to take a picture or video before she mixed it together for us.

Intimate, fun Korean spot in East Village! Really delicious homages to Busan food.Made a res beforehand, easy and quick sit down, and good variety of appetizers and entrees to finish. Service was very attentive and quick to help us with anything needed. Ordered the items in the pics, and had no leftovers for just two! Had slightly higher expectations going in, but still beautiful and delicious.

I was able to get a last minute reservation on a Tuesday and it did not disappoint. I've been meaning to try this place for a while but the timings never worked out until now. We were seated promptly at our reservation time of 730 PM. We ordered the following and our reviews:- scallop gimbap: 4.5/5: fresh. rice had a nice nutty flavor to it. the scallops were sliced super thin so -.5 for the amount. - seafood pancake: 3.5/5: not as crunchy as I would like my seafood pancake. it also was a bit too oily for my taste. - fried eel: 4/5: had this as our last dish, I probably would've given it 4.5 if I wasn't so full but this was one of my favorite dishes. - fried soft shell crabs: 4/5: didn't feel as oily and had a nice crunch and flavor to it. I added too much sauce for the first crab and it overpowered it. so I advise to use a smaller portion of sauce to crab ratio. - dolsot al-bap with uni: 5/5: my favorite dish of the night. it had a really great seafood flavor and the uni was such a great add on and added more flavor to it. highly recommend this dish. complimentary kimchi was also SO GOOD. got 2 dishes of it!the service was spectacular and very attentive. super friendly and welcoming and accommodating!

One of the best meals I had in NYC. The seafood was so fresh and the dishes were quite unique. The egg souffle was so fluffy and creamy and I loved how the rice stuck a bit to the pot -- this is a must order. The scallop kimbap was a another favorite, it was so fresh, and you assemble it to get the perfect bite of everything. The fried chicken also surprised me, I thought the crust was quite unique and it was so juicy inside. We also had the spicy udon noodles, pork soup, and soft shell crab and recommend them as well.A cant-miss spot in NY, will not that it can get quite loud inside so might not be a great place if you're trying to talk a lot.

Ari ari's busan style food was delicious and unique though a bit pricey. We started out with the scallops appetizer (which were very thinly sliced scallops that you eat with their seaweed--not really worth the price imo), then had their famous bibimbap (this was creamy and delicious--worth it!), fried chicken with curry powder (also great), and seafood pajeon (quite small, next time I would want to try something else). I'd like to return and try other dishes, but overall pretty decent, just expect to spend some cash!

The food here is PHENOMENAL!! My taste buds were more than satisfied--they were in heaven. We got the Scallop DIY Gimbap and everything went so well together especially with the uni add-on. I will say though, the scallops were thinner than I thought. Next, the Dolsot Al-Bap came and it was mixed well for us. Another must get dish. It was creamy and all around very delicious. The next two dishes that arrived were the Hap-Cheon Pork Soup and the Duck Bulgogi. The soup was a little on the spicy side, but was tolerable (this is coming from someone who doesn't have a great spice tolerance) and the Duck Bulgogi was flavorful. This is definitely a restaurant I will be bringing more friends to, so I can try new dishes AND reorder some of these dishes. With these four dishes being shared between 3 people, it did not fill us all the way so I'd recommend getting another dish to share. We had made a reservation the day before for 8pm, but it seemed to not be busy on a Sunday night so you might not need any reservations!

Such an amazingggggg Korean restaurant! Great selection of tapas style plates and everything was absolutely phenomenal. Everything was very flavorful and seasoned well. Honorable mentions for the following: dolsot al bap - easily one of the best things i have ever ate. crispy, burnt, flavorful rice, paired with the creaminess of the sea urchin cream. I'm not the biggest fan of sea urchin, but the flavors of this dish paired beautifully together. seafood pancake - they really perfected the crunchy exterior while retaining the soft/mochi-like interior of this dish. service was great and food was so delicious I can't wait to go back!

This was my second time at ariari, and it still is one of my favorite korean restaurant. We tried some of the new menu and some classics and they were all very tasty. The server was also extremely friendly and explained everything in detail and gave good recommendations. The food was reminiscent of Busan as they mentioned in a very approachable way.
