I usually take lead when it comes to planning our work holiday dinner, so when it came to this year I thought it was a good idea to try somewhere different that was within walking distance to the office. I wanted to make this as easy as possible so I looked for places that were able to book a party of 12 without having to make a large-party arrangement with the restaurant. Angeletto landed as an option and after consulting reviews it seemed like a good spot - so I booked it. Angeletto sits in Midtown East right on 2nd Ave - we had a 5:15pm reservation which I assumed was shortly after they opened for dinner since we arrived to an empty restaurant. As standard in Midtown, the restaurant was roomy with mildly dark wood tones, white tablecloths, and and overall upscale-ish aesthetic. The menu is Italian - pretty standard fare of apps, pastas, mains, and sides. One noteworthy section of the menu is that they had a sub-section of pastas that contained the traditional Roman pastas which I thought was an interesting feature. Since we were a large group, we decided to get a bunch of apps to share - burrata w/ prosciutto, melon slices with prosciutto, beet salad, and fried calamari. The apps were pretty good - the calamari was a little overfried IMO, my favorite was burrata because cheese paired with cured meat. I couldn't resist one of the Roman pastas for my main, so I went with the Bucatini All'Amatriciana. The pasta was pretty good - not exactly al dente but not mushy either; the sauce was tasty and overall this was a solid dish. We also got two sides for the table - Brussels sprouts and broccoli rabe, both very good. For dessert I got the raspberry panna cotta - which interestingly was topped with strawberries (I think the sauce itself was raspberry). This was good, albeit nothing noteworthy.Service was good, everyone was friendly and they did a great job navigating our large party. Overall, we had a good experience at Angeletto - is it the best Italian food I've had? No - but when you put it in the context of being in Midtown, I would call it a solid spot. I wouldn't be against returning if given the opportunity.

I passed this charming spot many times and finally got to try it for my wedding anniversary with my husband. Service was excellent - quick, friendly and very helpful. We enjoyed some sourdough with oil. Ordered a nice glass of white wine. Started off sharing a beet salad, it was good but pretty plain. Next I ate the Squid ink pasta (for a whopping $38) - it was good but a little salty and wished the pasta was a little more al Dante. Definitely some great qualities but a little overpriced for what it was served.

Very relaxing place. White cloth tablecloths. Old school waiters. Place was surprisingly empty. Waiter said they had had a big UN lunch crowd. We were dining late. The waiter recommended the Gavi wine to start. I listened and glad I did. It was perfect. I started with the artichoke special and my friend had the arugula salad special. The artichokes were good but mild. I prefer them roasted to bring out the flavor. Then we split the cacio and Pepe. I would have preferred two 1/2 orders of 2 different pastas but they don't do that. My friends 1/2 had more sauce and looked better. Mine was a bit dry. Then we split the Branzino. By far the Branzino was the best dish and AMAZING! I would get this again. For dessert I had all the ice cream flavors and the tiramisu. All good. Especially the pistachio ice cream.

We walked by this restaurant a bunch of times before finally trying it on our anniversary. To be honest, it was pretty underwhelming- we've had and/or made just as good salad and squid ink seafood pasta. I had the lobster ravioli with shrimp which was tasty. Service was fine and helped us pick a glass of wine to pair with dinner so that was nice. Wouldn't rush back though.

A very classic and well maintained old money institution. You can tell the people who come here have been enjoying Angeletto's for the last 20 something years of their lives. People dress up to the nines or in their Sunday best to have dinner here. I thought it was quite nice and sweet to admire old couples and folks having a good time. There's also live music too, but that could have been a phantom experience. So don't quote me on that.My ravioli was very creamy and rich. I think that's what makes good ravioli, right? I do wish they catered more vegetarian entrees but I understand this is not my world I'm living in, and traditional Italians would abhor the idea of eliminating beef or pork from their table completely. I mean come on, no prosciutto? Plenty of people would become angry, and I understand. While the place was nice, it was also, as I've mentioned before, very old money. It is quite pricy for standard Italian fare. So this is not the place to go for a cheap or quick dinner date. You can find Olive Garden downtown instead. I would come again but preferably if I wasn't pay for my meal. Cheers.

Such a cute spot in Manhattan. Came here for lunch and It was very quaint. O would love to go back during busy hours! It is definitely a spot to check out and the food is on point. The burrata was delicious and the risotto tasted so good! Wish the shrimp were a little bigger but definitely was to come back!

Food was inedible: way too salty and the salmon smelled like it was a week past fresh. Service was excellent and drinks and dessert fine, but entrees from chicken to beef to fish and pasta were hugely disappointing. Opera is a nice enhancement but didn't make up for the stinky fish. Needs to reupholster furniture; chairs all cracked and dirty.
