It was my first time here and was very excited to try the food. We were there for a date night and decided sit at the bar. The bartender had the worst energy and was quite frankly rude. When ordering, he did not look us in the eye once and seemed disgusted the whole time any time we tried to order food or drinks. The food was super tasty but we did end up getting the wrong entree sent to us and waited close to an hour for our mains.I would go back to give it another chance but would not sit at the bar ever again.

I absolutely adore this cozy little restaurant--easily one of the top Italian spots around! Ammazzacaffè offers an impressive variety of pasta and dishes. Here's what we tried: * Salmon and steak tartare: Both were delicious, served with perfectly toasted rustic bread on the side. * Agnolotti: Rich and flavorful, topped with shaved Parmesan and a drizzle of balsamic--absolutely delightful. * Quadrotti ravioli: Stuffed with braised duck and mushrooms, this dish was the star of the evening. Packed with flavor, perfectly moist, and an absolute must-try. * Anatra (dry-aged duck): As a big fan of duck, I was excited for this dish, but it fell a bit short. I wasn't a fan of the farro coating on the duck skin. * Tiramisu: So creamy and decadent--an excellent dessert. * Yuzu cheesecake: A perfect balance of flavors, not overly sweet, with just the right amount of yuzu. They also offer a $12 caviar bump with any cocktail, but we opted for the mini martini--it was amazing and well worth it! This spot is perfect for a date night or an intimate gathering. Highly recommend!

Came here with a res on a Thursday and it was pretty busy! Here's what we got: Do Not Pass Go (cocktail) - loooveeed this drink and so many of the other drinks looked amazing! Don't think you can go wrong with the drinks hereSunchoke - probably my favorite thing we got here! Love the sunchoke with the apple and cheese, the pesto was the cherry on top. This is definitely a must get!Agnolotti - what I was most excited about when coming here but also was the biggest let down of the whole meal. While there was a lot of potential for this dish with the balsamic, pesto, and truffle - this whole dish was just dry. There was not enough sauce and any sauce there was was either overpowered or soaked up by the layer of shredded cheese they topped the pasta with. Don't get me wrong, I love cheese, especially with pasta. But, this was just wayyyy tooo dry. Gemelli Verde - this was also just ok, nothing special here. The goat cheese and mushrooms were nice but again, just found the sauce to be bland and lackluster. This was forgettable. Garganelli - my friend got this and thought it was really good! They also gave a good healthy amount of meat which she appreciated.Overall, for the price, this place was kind of a let down. The appetizers and drinks were fantastic so I'd definitely come back for that. However, I probably wouldn't come back for dinner.

Some folks might be quick to assume Ammazzacaffè is some kind of play on words to suggest an "Amazing Cafe" but it's actually an Italian term for a miniature glass with some liquor to mask the taste of coffee. (#1) No one should be masking the taste of the food here because everything is tasty. Add in some excellent service, intimate vibe, and overall quality experience and this is how 5 star reviews get written. The place is quaint with a sexy bar, intimate seating, and a really killer outdoor space. I had the pleasure of attending a special event in the back and enjoyed every minute of it. The staff was on it for every course and was good about directing guests to the back. They were quick to refill drinks, wines, and keep the place looking ship shape while they transitioned for the next course.Every item I sample, I enjoyed immensely. The gramiga, torcia, and agnolotti pastas were fresh and tasty with every bite. Folks who love a bolognese option would appreciate the garganelli, as well as the reginette which features a pork ragu. Bonus points for scoring their campanelle nero, which is their special squid ink based pasta. From their creamy and delectable burrata to their polpette meatballs, I don't think there's a dish where one can really go wrong. The sea trout tartare is an interesting option, as is their sunchoke hazelnut pesto. Their barbarbietole is a summer palate pleaser with roasted beets, smoked ricotta, pistaachio, and pickled fig.Their coppa is a roasted pork collar ($35) but it is still not as mighty as the anatra ($42), a dry aged duck that is their most expensive entree. While folks might love the pollo ($32) chicken breast, I think most everyone else will appreciate the pesce ($37) grilled branzino or the manzo ($40) braised short rib. The latter is so good that it's hard to call it a shared dish when I can easily kill it all on my own.Finish off the meal with one of their extremely extensive amaro + dessert selection. The former is where the name stems from and the choices are flat out overwhelming. No matter the choice, it'll be a great way to end what should be an outstanding meal.___________(#1) "Coffee killer."My photos: https://www.yelp.com/biz_photos/ammazzacaff%C3%A8-brooklyn?userid=ysCBsXWPB-LAiewVS3jZfQ

Amazzacaffè was in a word: delicious. All of the pasta is made in house and is absolutely so fresh and incredible--you have to try at least one dish while you're here because of how well it's made! The meatball appetizer was also just a chefs kiss moment--the basil pesto sauce is something I could eat every day and never get tired of. For dessert we got the yuzu basque cheese which was perfect in every bite. Each cocktail was also SO well balanced and I loved that they have the option to add a caviar bump to any drink. I also loved that they had they option for a fernet flight which is incredibly rare to find honestly. As for service--I saw several reviews mentioning has service--but I experienced quite the opposite. All waitstaff were incredible kind, attentive, and fast and made us some amazing recommendations when we asked. Some of the best service I have ever had!Inside the place was absolutely adorable and a lovely and fun vibe great for friends or a date night. I almost left off a star only because of the acoustics inside--this place is LOUD. We had to yell through most of the meal honestly. This is because of the tin ceilings, high ceilings, hardwood floors, and hard walls...there is nothing in place to absorb sound and that made for a very load restaurant. That wasn't enough for me to take off a star--I just won't be taking my grandpa here. That aside this was an amazing experience I cannot recommend enough! I look forward to coming back and trying more of their delicious dishes!

Came here for my friends birthday party and definitely has an upscale backyard? Vibe. It's a good venue for hosting larger parties and events. Staff were super attentive throughout and even sang my friend happy birthday.Food: Duck - takes 1 hour to prepare, so order early if you have time constraints. Pretty small portion for the price, but delicious and liked the seasoning. Duck itself was moist and tender.Soft Crab - a very small portion, probably good for 2-3 people to split. Nothing too special here and I feel like I've had better soft shell crab. You can skip this.Free bread and olive oil - this was so good everyone was fighting over it lol. Something about the rosemary and olive oil combo was perfection.Garganelli - delicious classic bolognese pasta. Easy to share and pasta texture along with seasoning were perfect.Asparago - kind of bitter, but good with the sauce. You have to get a little bite of everything at once for it to taste good.Tartare - delicious tartare, also were fighting over this dish. Wished it came with more bread, it was a perfect combo.Drinks:Espresso Martini - one of the better espresso martinis I've had in NYC.Spill the Tea - one of the sweeter drinks we had, it came with a toothpick of gummy bears! so yummy I wanted another.

I didn't make any reservations beforehand, and it was fine for two people to just walk in. I believe they have availability for these instances. They have indoor dining and an enclosed patio for those who want somewhat of an outside dining experience. The restaurant itself was fairly roomy, but if you have a large group, be sure to make reservations. Foodwise, we wanted to order the meatballs called the polpette. However, they ran out of it, so we decided to order the burrata. The burrata tasted great with the basil and eggplant mixed together. The main dish that I ordered for myself was the gnochette. That tasted alright. I needed to use a lot of black pepper and red pepper flakes on it to make it even tastier. Last but not least, for dessert, the yuzu cheesecake was ordered. The dessert was the best dish. I took one star off because our food came out so late, and even the waiter knew it was delayed. Add more chefs in the kitchen as the wait wasn't acceptable.

This was honestly some of the best pasta I've ever had. I had had this spot on my list for a while so very glad I finally tried it! All 3 pastas we tried were spectacular and bursting with flavor. The gnocchetti was my favorite (it was their special, baby gnocchi with a spicy seafood sauce - to die for!). The reginette and torcía were also amazing! Would highly recommend this place and will definitely be stopping in next time instead of ordering out. Look forward to discovering more of the menu! :)

I have come here twice and the second time, the food took quite literally a whole hour to come out after ordering. Everything tasted fine and I enjoy the ambiance of the restaurant, but by the time the food actually came out, I was practically falling asleep at the table. The skewers were good but rather salty. They also have matchboxes if you're looking to expand your collection.
