I always visit Katz's when I'm in NYC, but this was a quick trip and I was going to be nowhere near the deli, so I was so happy to find out they had this new outpost at the Dekalb Food Hall. The staff was very friendly and assured me it was the same as the original. I ordered the pastrami and was not disappointed. They still give you a taste test, like they do at the deli and it tasted the same. The food hall is very cool with lots of food options. Katz's is front and center so it makes it easy to find. It's well lit with seating right in front of the pop up.The only reason it's not a 5 star because it's not the original. :-)

For $30 a sandwich, this meal just doesn't feel worth it to me.I've lived in NYC my whole life and grew up on pastrami sandwiches & knishes from delis throughout. I've always heard the hype surrounding Katz, seen their monster sandwiches & heard about how great they are. Granted, I know I tried the food hall location - but from the other reviews this is an exact copy of what you would receive from the original storefront. The pastrami sandwich was good, the meat was tender and fatty, but it wasn't $30 good. I don't know what I was expecting really, but I kind of thought the sandwiches would be bigger & have more meat? The rye bread was also lacking, falling apart and crumbling the minute you pick up the sandwich. The knish wasn't anything to write home about -- it was pretty dry and rubbery, disappointing considering we began to eat as soon as we received our food. Would have expected these things if it was to go, so it makes me feel as if they just gave me the end of the evening scraps.I love pastrami, but for the price I definitely can find a more fulfilling meal elsewhere. The staff were extremely welcoming and kind though, making my experience here worthwhile!

We had a food tour of Brooklyn and out tour guy recommended that if we didn't want to stand in a long time at the original location we could come here! Hidden Gem! We didn't have to wait in line and we were able to try their pastrami and order a few different pickles they had! Overall I was impressed!

Another Katz's located in Brooklyn's Dekalb Food Hall. There is a food stall serving very good pastrami and corn beef sandwiches. The lady took my order for a corn beef sandwich on rye with mustard. It's insanely expensive at over $28. They don't give you a taste like they do at the main Katz's. The piping hot sandwich is just as big as the main Katz's with just as much meat. The corn beef is tender and some parts melt in your mouth. There was plenty of flavor with the mustard cutting through that fatty meat. It comes with pickles and extra mustard and there's no good way of eating without making a mess. Luckily on a Tuesday, there were plenty of tables to sit at to enjoy the food.

Super convenient and delicious! I got the matzo ball soup and a latke. The woman at the counter was SO nice! The food took a little longer than expected, especially since they didn't seem super busy.

Did a side by side of the Ruben here and at the OG place and they were basically the same. I think the hype of being at the other location adds to the flavor but honestly the hip vibe of the new age food hall gives me just as much energy. Sandwich was so good I couldn't put the first half down after bite one. Extra points for Dr. Browns root beer

The food is remarkable. The pastrami sandwich had at least 1 pound of meat. I do find that the bread seems to have gotten thinner? Plenty of mustard add little container of mustard. The two sodas were very nice and cold. Nothing like a Dr. Brown's cream soda to go with a sandwich from KatzS The way to sum it up is the food is from KatzS's but this place is without the drama of them, cutting the meat and giving you a sample. They were a little understaffed by about two people, but then in this day and age you try to do more with less Except with the food there you always get more came here because they were on the way to my meeting long live cats since 1888 so happy that they are expanding into other areas. Perhaps I will see one near me soon or at Grand Central Station food court lower level thank you.

I've been a loyal customer of Kat's Deli in Manhattan for years, and the love for it runs in the family, especially with my mom, who's adored it since I was a young child. The connection is so strong that I've even had their delicious food delivered to her in Atlanta, Georgia for her birthday!Recently, I had an interesting experience at the DeKalb Food Market. I was planning to try out a different restaurant, but the wait time there was a whopping 40 minutes before they even started taking orders again. While waiting, I decided to pop over to Kat's Deli and grab one of their iconic Reuben sandwiches. It's a delightful combination of corned beef, Swiss cheese, Russian dressing, and sauerkraut, and let me tell you, it was just as mouthwatering as I remembered. The best part? I had my Reuben sandwich in hand within just 5 minutes! It was everything I needed at that moment, incredibly tasty and satisfying. The experience was so refreshing that I decided to forgo the other restaurant altogether. Kat's Deli hit the spot perfectly, and I can confidently say that it's definitely comparable to the original location in Manhattan. In a nutshell, if you're looking for a quick, delicious, and satisfying meal, don't hesitate to swing by Kat's Deli at the DeKalb Food Market. You won't be disappointed!

Sorry to say I was disappointed, normally the pastrami is packed with flavor but not this time it was just OK. The meat was a little tough and chewy. Been a huge fan of Katz's for 40 years but not this time. I remember when a single sandwich feed 4 people, still a good sandwich but it's also $32. So not what it used to be. If the quality was still there I wouldn't care about the cost. But it wasn't.

Matzoh ball soup just fine BUT awful pastrami sandwich...the meat was hard and tough and the too thick (at least 3/8") slicing mad it impossible to chew. Has to toss it in the trash!!
