Wow...blown away by the Filipino/Spanish fusion! A friend mentioned this spot to my husband and said we had to try it. While I love traditional Filipino food, it's always awesome to see any kind of fusion. They have solid Happy Hour deals so we tried a few items from that menu as well as their regular one. They don't have a full liquor license yet but serve wine and cocktails with shochu or sake.Loved- Pork belly adobo ala plancha: Perfectly cooked with the right amount of flavor! - Oyster sisig: What a great twist on a classic dish! I typically don't eat sisig but I love oysters, so what a great combo for me to dive into sisig. Great portion size and crispiness.- Crab congee: I don't eat congee but I love crab! I'm not obsessed with this dish and feels like what everyone should be eating on a cold day.- Spicy margaritaLiked- Boquerones: I love white anchovies and this was just OK for me. It wasn't bad but maybe I hyped it up too much in my head.- Pimientos de padron: I always order a shishito peppers dish and while good, it was as expected.- Chorizo shrimp al ajillo: The chorizo was too sweet for me and the garlic wasn't as strong as I'd like for a shrimp al ajillo. Moreeee garlic please! The bread was also too hard - kind of like croutons.

I've been prolonging this review since it's so highly rated and the only reason I bookmarked this place.Apps are 4-5 lil bites. Since we didn't care for the few dishes I chose to try, the few bites each were plenty. We ordered:Oyster sisig - 3 out of 5 - better than expected just like others said. Lil salty, creamy with the mayo and egg mixed together. Crunchy parts were nice but even so it's just okay. I wouldn't order it again.Pork sisig - 1 out of 5 - we're somewhat adventurous eaters. I've always wanted to try this dish but I usually order lechon, pata, bbq at Filipino restaurants. I've even had that weird ruffled thing; this was a first for us and we didn't care for it. Had a really strange flavor, also too sour. Since we never had it before, we didn't know if it was supposed to taste like that. We've had ant eggs, L has had cuy, etc. Pork snout, ears doesn't sound bad in comparison. Crab congee - 2 out of 5 - decent amount of crab in the lil bowl of congee but L didn't like the seasoning. We're used to Chinese style congee, simpler flavors, still so yummy.. . This was perhaps too busy for us and extremely salty to the point L didn't really want to finish it and it's just a tiny bowl. I tried a spoonful. Didn't care for it but we could easily demolish a regular congee 8x that size.Bone marrow steak fried rice - 4 out of 5 - best dish since everything else we tried wasn't that great but also nothing really special. The steak tastes similar to how I make it at home which is why I rarely ever order steak at a restaurant but I'm looking for restaurants to recommend for others to enjoy. Paella - 3 out of 5 - rice was good. Seafood.. eh.. the few pieces that were spread onto the dish wasn't that great compared to what I buy from the supermarket. L didn't like the quality of the shrimps and was just perplexed seeing such a tiny amount. Again the rice was flavorful, the seafood was a miss. Few pieces of Chinese sausage which I don't eat but L did and he expected something higher quality for a paella...scallop was good but it was just a sliver. Espresso martini - L didn't care for either. It's okay, had better. Sangria - nothing you can't make at home. I was actually planning to order more apps and entrees but L wasn't feeling it so we didn't go nuts which sometimes we tend to for just two of us. These weren't my top choices if I known I was going to order only 5 dishes I probably would've gone with more popular dishes. The ambience is nice for the area, service was good too. Our water glasses was refilled constantly.. it had to be since the water glasses they use held a few ounces max. It's cute but seriously I need more than 2 sips of water since the food is so salty/fatty. We felt so bad for the one guy who had to constantly refill water for everyone.Everyone else seemed to enjoy their dinner. I'm pretty sure I just chose the wrong dishes. I will probably return and try the dishes I missed out on and will definitely update

Really good happy hour deal which includes food (tapas)! The pork belly skewers and beef tripe/Callos were really good. Highly recommend the Spicy Margarita and Yuzu Cava. I didn't think the entrees were too memorable. Solid, but not blown away.Service was warm and attentive.

Some very interesting filipino and Spanish fusion dishes. The paella and the pork were my favorites. Skin was perfectly crispy.

New spot serving Filipino and Spanish style tapas. It's fairly easy to make a resy right now! The inside is nicely decorated and there's a whole other section around the cornerThey're also serving happy hour from 5-7 Wednesday-Saturday with drink and tapas specialsWe got a few dishes to share between the 3 of us- Shrimp and chorizo: similar to gambas that comes on a super hot sizzling clay plate! Loved how piping hot it was. The chorizo reminded us of Chinese sausage flavor- Grilled octopus: rather small portion, but the chimichurri sauce really hit- Pork belly adobo kebab: Nice presentation with a huge skewer full of pork belly on top of a bed of rice. Some of the pieces were a little dry - Bone marrow steak fried rice: we were really excited to try this because they torch it table side for you, but the flavor just wasn't there.. the rice kinda just seemed like it was flavored with soy sauce and the meat was a little bit undercooked with the white stringy pieces hard to chewThey do have a lot of items on the menu that I'm curious to try, but probably wouldn't reorder the above items

They are located just off of Delaney St on the Lower East Side of Manhattan. The cuisine come from Spain-Filipino inspiration. The staff is very friendly and I never seem to have an empty glass of water because they fill it so quickly. Walking in the entrance it seems deceiving thinking that this place is small. But as you walk through, you can tell that there are plenty of seats/tables. I would recommend smaller groups of parties to eat in as the seating is very intimate.I was taken away by the food. This was the first time I tried Isaw and it was amazing. The Uni Palabok was definitely interesting to see on the menu so we had to try it. It was very surprising how well uni and palabok came together. The pork belly was very juicy and flavorful. The adobo rice that came with it was very good as well. The Pulpo Romesco can seem like it's a small portion, but when cut up nicely it fed the 2 of us well. Of course, we also had to try the Oyster Sisig. Like everything else, it was very good. The only thing I miss when it comes to sisig was crispy-ness. But being Oyster, I can understand how there wasn't much crispy in the entree.Definitely would recommend this place. Very nice place to introduce your pallet into the finer side of Filipino Cuisine.

Since it's new and without a lot of press, there was no issue with making a resy at all even on a Friday night. The space was beautifully done with 2 sections. The bar section as you entered and the dining section when you make the turn right. It was nicely decorated. They had 3 cocktail options for about 14 dollars. I enjoyed the Yuzu cava. The glasses of wine were reasonably priced at 11-12 a glass. On our way out, there were people chilling and enjoying glasses of wine at the bar.For the three of us, we shared:1) oyster sisig - great concept, smaller and wetter than expected and also lacking in flavor. We felt like it needed a dash of salt or even a nice sauce on top. Could even be as simple as an aioli sauce or even hoisin sauce to add some flavor.2) shrimp, chorizo in oil - the sourdough bread was crispy and deliciously coated in butter. Personally, I could have used more garlic in the oil and a bit more salt on the shrimp. They should dine at the Claud and order theirs to see.3) Octupus - not bad! Just my personal preference is for it to be charred. So the texture was a bit soft.4) seafood paella - the rice was good! Simple tasting.5) The short rib - probably the most flavorful dish of the night. You could tell the short rib was cooked for a perfect time in a good sauce over some creamy mashed potatoes6) bone marrow steak fried rice - cool concept. I always love a good marrow! Like most of the dishes, it was good but there wasn't really a wow factor in terms of the spices/sauces used for the rice!Overall, a 3.5 for the food but given it is new and the place is spacious and nicely decorated, I'm bumping it to a 4.

It's about 3.8.This place's fairly new that I was able to walk in without a reservation. Food was like a fusion Filipino tapas, which was interesting. The sauce in the mussel was to die for! It was super flavorful that I wish there's more bread to soak up all the sauce. The oyster sisig was much better than expected. However, the steak and bone marrow didn't taste as good as it looked. Steak was overcooked and chewy in texture and fried rice was a bit heavy in soy sauce.

87 Ludlow is a Filipino-Spanish Tapas restaurant. The restaurant is cozy and intimate. Our server was very friendly and service was all around great. I was recommended this place through an influencer's IG story and made a reservation right away. As the place is small, it was mostly (but not completely) full when we ate, so a reservation would be a safe decision. We started the meal off with the pork sisig (we originally wanted the oyster version, but they were all out :( ). The cuts of pork and onion created a delightful textural experience. It's a very rich dish and would recommend you order a side of rice with it. We followed up with the scallops which were light, fresh and delicious. I appreciate when seafood isn't too fishy, and this acted as a good palette cleanser. We then had the star of the show, the bone marrow fried rice. Yum! The bits of bone marrow with the rice were delicious and the steak was cooked well. We decided to get one last small plate; the mussel curry which we thoroughly enjoyed with the sour dough. You could also add some rice with this cause the sauce was amazing. The only complaint I have would be that I wish the last two dishes we had were warmer. They'd cooled down a little too much but they were still delicious. All in all, I very much enjoyed the food experience. I look forward to returning and trying more of their plates!

Amazing! If you want an introduction to authentic Filipino cooking; or, if you've tried it and want to sample more, this is the place! Tapas style serving gives you all the experience, and have extra room to try out more; or extend yourself to try out something new. Chef Lambert was so gracious and accommodating. Truly Filipino. This, review is from a Filipino. Amazing!
