5 stars for the dry beef special noodles. They are served at room temperature but are absolutely delicious. Nice szechuan pepper spice and a good sized portion. Only minor complaint is they were a bit too oily. The pan fried pork buns were also very tasty (6 per order) as were the pan fried dumplings (8 per order, kind of look like tiny tacos more than dumplings). The space itself is very cramped, with the waiters having to squeeze through to get to tables. It is also a bit strange that they don't serve water, you have to buy a bottle, which in NYC is borderline ridiculous. All that said, I would go back, but would likely get the dry beef special noodles for takeout since they are served at room temperature anyway.

I came on a Sunday night for dinner. Waited around 30 minutes to be seated. They don't serve water with their food even though you tip, I wish they would have cups of water. Cucumber salad and signature LAN Zhou Noodles was delicious, the broth was deep and noodles were al dente.I would go back for take out.Space is cramped

Read about this place in The NY Times and then realized it was in the neighborhood. Stopped by a bit before noon on a rainy day- perfect soup weather! This place is a hole in the wall- seats around 20 people. The lovely host shoehorned people in like a Tetris champ. It was really fun to watch the staff make hand pulled noodles behind a transparent partition. I had no choice but to sample the Signature Lanzhou Beef Noodles. The soup was piping hot and off the charts. There was a lot of oil in the broth. At first, I was put off, but it turned out to be good. The beef was similar to what you would find in pho. The thick noodles were the star of the show. They were delicious and pleasantly chewy. This is the kind of place that would make Anthony Bourdain happy. It's a real find. It's not fine dining, but it's awesome. Looking forward to working my way through the menu.

Excellent northern Chinese that's freshly made right in front of you in a small space. The staff were friendly and always busy cleaning up and turning over tables. The noodles can be specialized for size. It took around 10 min for us to get our food. I got the noodle soup braised beef noodle and the meat was so tender and the noodles with the right amount of chew. The dry noodle beef dish was even tastier and had more of that numbing spice for depth. I'll def be back to try the other dishes.

We ordered 3 things to try:N1.Signature Lanzhou Beef NoodlesD1.Special Dry Beef NoodleB2.Traditional Pan Fried Buns/6 PcsD1 was my favorite. The noodles were perfectly chewy and well-coated in the spicy sauce, and there was decent serving of beef. N1 was good but I do wish the soup had a beefier flavor to it. The dumplings weren't my favorite but that's because I don't like doughy buns.

Small noodle shop tucked away in kips bay. Very fresh noodles with good texture (with multiple noodle types to choose from). Sauces and broths were done well - only complaint would be very few meat pieces in the noodle soups.

Heard good things from someone who is a local in the area. I ordered the Signature Lanzhou Beef Noodle and Lamb Chinese Hamburger.Flavors were satisfying for both. I would come back for the flavor. But... I do find the lamb dry. The noodles were not chewy, I am unsure if itnis bec I got it doordash-ed and it might have affected the quality of the noodle. The beef in the noodle has some more room to be more tender. Added boiled egg in the order and it was overcooked. Was unable to take a picture of the noodle soup, I got excited sipping the soup!! LolFor some reason, I am not convinced this resto deserves 3 stars... so.. if and when I come back in the area, I will be trying then again... I will be sitting down and eating there and will update my review.

Came here with my boyfriend and we ordered so much because we were so excited. My top dish was the dry beef noodles - spices were done to perfection and SO happy with how chewy the noodles were, even though they are on the thinner side! We also got the oil spill noodles, traditional lanzhou beef noodle soup, steamed buns, and the lamb burger. Oil spill noodles had a slight smokiness to it, which I didn't expect (tasty in my opinion) !Great service despite a super busy and small place, wait was around 35mins outside in the cold. Worth it though!

I finally made it here on a cold, rainy Saturday in NYC and didn't have to wait on a long line - maybe 15 minutes tops the place is tiny inside. I ordered the classic traditional noodle dish with an add on egg - and I asked for spicy and it definitely got me sweating !The hand pulled noodles is the reason you go to this place and man was it worth it! The noodles are soft , fresh and just downright delicious! Additionally I ordered steamed pork buns and they were equally delicious! I had to take some home ! I will definitely return and will try the different noodles and combos ! It really is one of my new favorite places to eat in NYC!
