Small, locally owned Japanese grocery store with all the staples. Lovely, helpful owner.

If you haven't already been, do go to New Tokyo Market. While it looks small on the outside, it does have a lot of good options. They are always so friendly and I really enjoy shopping there, It may be small but I actually prefer smaller shopping experiences. Extremely tidy and my overall shopping experience is so nice there. I'm not into the mega sized Asian grocery stores. New Tokyo Market is more my speed. I love to stock up my my favorite Japanese loofah sheet towels, snacks and drinks, and dried seaweed etc. Don't forget to look in the back room, where they sell dvds and dishes. The bowls and dishes are especially nice! I love browsing there and also the kitchen utensils areas. This is really one of my favorite places to shop for Japanese items. I can never pass up getting a new set of chopsticks every time I go!!

This is a small, quiescent grocery shop focusing on, you guessed it, all things Japan related. This is a far cry from the Middle Eastern mom n pop grocery store next door. Unlike that place, this place is extremely clean and well organized. I bought myself a variety of products as you don't see these items in your normal grocery store: melon mochi, lots of Japanese branded ramen bowls, a bunch of sake, tofu, korean beef, vegetable dumplings, and various other milk tea type of drinks. It all cost me $150 but it's nice to spice up my kitchen every now and then. The only thing I didn't like is that they were arbitrarily closed on a non holiday once which made it a waste of time and gas to get there.

I'm from Hawaii and it's hard to find good Asian food in Phoenix. This place is closer than Mekong and focuses on Japanese food. The main thing I would recommend is that they have good flash frozen sashimi grade fish. Also a nice selection of sushi rice, fresh frozen seaweed salad, kamaboko, misc. Japanese products etc. The frozen sushi grade fish appeared to be high quality and was cheaper/better than Nelson's (never frozen makes me nervous), Basha's, Whole Foods, and Sprouts.

Originally from Hawai`i, we now live up North Phoenix.We find it difficult to find Asian foods and housewares similar to back home in Hawai`i. Fortunately, we found New Tokyo!The people are so nice, and here we find many items (plus new-to-us items) that we enjoy.Recommend here for Asian foods and great staff.

Great store, was clean and has polite service. Pretty good selection of items too! Very quiet and nice experience :)

I went here today and it was really nice, the lady that was bagging our stuff was very nice and everything there was amazing and it was very nice amd quiet in there. Also the food and drinks there were super amazing that i bought a teapot, 4 cups, and 2 different types of tea. I will socome here again!

A great selection of authentic foods and products. There's a nice vibe of a classic Japanese grocery shop and the service is fantastic They are willing to explain and help you pick out the various products in Japanese.

Great little place to shop for specialized Japanese products. Love to shop here when I need certain items. The service is friendly and you can even order certain things if they don't have it in stock. Keep up the great work and service!

Has just the essentials but sometimes that is all you need. Service is kind and efficient. Not a big store, but it doesn't need to be.
