Great experience! Super friendly staff from walking in the door to walking out. Felt like being at a family members house. We had a group of 7 and were sat at their large round table that could have accommodated a couple more and had a large glass "lazy Suzan" in the middle which we used for sharing dishes and the large bowl of rice. Large portion sizes for all dishes. They have a separate vegan menu when requested. All dishes were flavorful and fresh. They had a cozy upscale feel with the warm accents, detail work on ceiling medallions and unique china service used.

We first found out about this restaurant in a local vegan group. We always find it heart warming and intriguing when a non-vegan restaurant takes care to offer a specific vegan menu. The vegan menu was super easy to find as well, towards the very top of their web page is a hyperlink for the vegan menu == https://www.newpekingwok.com/vegan-menu.The wait staff was exceptional, super friendly, and laughed at my dumb jokes... that's how I can ascertain when wait staff goes above and beyond ... when they mercifully laugh at my stupid jokes, rock on! The restaurant is easy to find and the items are very affordable, and the ambiance is soothing and interesting. So, vegan options - check! Friendly wait staff - check! Good location - check! Reasonable prices - check! Well, that's all folks, thanks for readi...readi....rea...wait, why do I feel like I'm forgetting something ..... oh yeah ... THE FOOD, oops! Please don't mistake my absent-mindedness to be a reflection of the food in any way being forgettable, it's not, it's not forgettable but actually rather ... incredible! They don't skimp on their vegan menu, as there are plenty of options to choose from. I'm a sucker for a good Moo Shu Vegetable with pancake dish and their version did not disappoint. The Orange Tofu was absolutely divine to look at and dreamy to consume. The Vegetable Fried Rice was spot on and (wait for it ... ) hit the spot!!If you happen to be reading this on 12/24 or 12/25, they ARE open on both days from 11am - 8pm but do ask patrons to make reservations for either of those two days. So, you can't go wrong with this establishment. Seriously! If you're in the area and looking for great vegan Asian options to enjoy while maybe eating out with your non vegan family, this is an amazing choice where everyone can find something to love!

Decent Chinese food. Our favorite spot closed, Yummy Chinese. This has been the best in Fed Wa we've tried so far. Had spring rolls, wontons, lo mein, wonton soup (this was pretty bland broth). We'll be back!

We are new to the area and for some reason Mushu Pork was what the better half wanted. No place in Puyallup could we find this dish and so I did what everyone else does. I googled Mushu Pork close to me and "New Peking Wok" showed up along with a few others. What drove us all the way from Puyallup to Federal Way was a review that said "Lisa make the best Mushu Pork in the area!" Well we had to try it and try we did.Lisa is awesome, her service to her customers is exemplary as she will ask and expect an honest answer if you liked the food. Well the Mushu Pork is great and the review was not wrong. The other dish we had was the house Lo-Mein and it was very good. The location is in a strip shopping center and the decor is the usual Chinese decor but clean and well maintained. The soups are a solid hit and the portions are done well enough if you are very hungry go for it or save some for another day. Excellent service, good food, and nice atmosphere to dine in.Highly recommend New Peking Wok, and as Lisa says "Thank you and I will see you tomorrow!" Gotta love the confidence but it's all backed up with good food and service.

I grew up near a sister location, in Bellevue. That location closed at least a decade ago, maybe more. I've eaten here before, but it's probably been 12 years or more. Now, this place is called New Peking, so I don't know if its new ownership or if another change warranted the "New" in the name. I had an individual dinner and it was ok, It had 5 star potential, but unfortunately it came up a little short, so let's talk about it. The wonton soup was a savory rick broth. The soup was dangerously hot, yet the wontons weren't even warm. Don't know how the soup is made, but it's clear the wontons either didn't simmer in the soup or were frozen. Unfortunately, I can say the same about my meal. The General Tso's chicken was first, a small portion, I would have expected more from a lunch size than what I was served. It was clear the chicken had been fried crisp, but it was about room temp in the center, so again, either it was frozen, or precooked and not brought up to temp. It had peppers and onions and both of those were cold and crisp again, leading me to believe this may have never hit a wok. Had everything been hot, the flavor would have been flawless and had the portion been truly worth of a dinner, the experience would have been flawless. Good Chinese food is hard to find and it's clear the cooks here have talent, the trick appears to be getting your meal hot from the wok. I'll give them another try and hopefully the food Is hot and fresh next time around.

RFound this hidden gem by accident. We have been searching for six months to find a Chinese restaurant after our normal place closed suddenly. Food was very good. Staff super friendly and welcoming.

My mother had came here for Chinese food for a few years when we moved here but then we found and frequented other Chinese restaurants afterwards. However, it is awesome to see that they are still around after 20+ years and we are glad to have remembered them. We have come here a few times to celebrate birthdays as they have fair prices with good portions and amazing flavors. We also love the service of the owner and employees, they make you feel at home and provide service with a smile. Today's visit was to celebrate my boyfriend's birthday with my mother, grandma and myself as we were just recently moved back. The ambiance is a very retro oriental vibe with several tables for parties of all sizes, including a large banquet room for those who want to celebrate or host a large gathering. I think the décor and lighting gives a nice intimate and memorable dining experience as it is fitting for all occasions. The menu is not too overwhelming and they even have a menu with photos for those who are not familiar with Chinese cuisine. We came close to closing but the owner was kind enough to let us dine in and let us know what wasn't available at the moment. My mom's favorite moo shu pork was unavailable due to no more pancakes, but trust me when I tell you that they are the best as my mother still remembers how they taste and when we came back last year, she said it was just as she remembered all those years ago. Three of us got the Individual Combo dinners while my grandma got the Happy Family. The portions were large and we received our food pretty quickly! We were extremely delighted and ate our fill. They do not skimp out on the meats and vegetables like many other Chinese restaurants which we appreciated as we were very hungry. The owner was doing a stellar job to check on each table and make polite conversation, as well as reassuring us not to feel the need to rushed just cause they were closing soon. When we told her that it was my boyfriend's birthday, she even gave us a complimentary bag of fortune cookies as a birthday gift for him. Definitely will be visiting them again whenever we are feeling for great service and food!

Ordered take out. Orange chicken, beef broccoli, honey walnut shrimp and beef chow mein ( crispy)When my husband came home with the food, i thought they had forgotten the noodles.Called and the woman said it's in the sandwhich bag....It was a bag of wonton strips, the lady said that's how they've been doing it for 40 years. The flavor was there but these are indeed NOT noodles.
