Zuppardo's Family Market

Quick trip with my Nephew to one of his most favorite markets. Whenever he travels to Louisiana he comes here for his pickled meat(not what it sound like at all!), his gumbo seasonings and his sausage and even seafood. I have been here twice and the parking lot is always packed!All kinds of seasonings, wine and spirits, fresh meat, and fresh seafood, and colorful vegetables. Everything is beautifully presented and the staff is friendly. All things Mardi Gras are being showcased now which I love seeing. Everything is beautifully presented and the staff is friendly. I will definitely take more time to look around the next time I visit.

Seems like everyone in Metairie shops here. The parking is always full and things are hopping even on a weekday afternoon.Came by because Zuppardo's offers king cakes from various bakeries which makes it convenient. There's always a line at the sandwich counter so probably something good going on there.Happy to find some Louisiana strawberries and Zapp's/Elmers local snacks & chips for a reasonable price.

Oye, the oyster dressing is to die for!They always usually have it available!Usually it is on the hot bar. She might still be there with you. Blame it on the rain. Cuz the rain don't lie!!!!!

Went to shop for a few things Friday. Eggs 8.99 a dozen. Went to Sams 4.79 a dozen. Enough said.

Love this store. Lots of fresh produce, meats and dairy products. The store is always stocked with the items you need...never lacking. The customer service is met with warm and friendly faces. The deli and hot food kitchen stays packed with folks, so I tend to avoid that area during peak times (mainly lunch lol). The best time to come here is very early in the morning, if you're wanting avoid traffic jams. Mainly the elderly are here during that time and they're not always in a hurry like other folks.I love the way the store has an inviting family atmosphere. The floral area looks great and the baked goods look okay. I've ever tried them...only the king cakes from Dong Phuong. They have great specials, unique findings and I'd also recommend them to anyone wanting fresh foods.

Best kept secret in town. Go to the back wall coolers in the meat department. First cooler on the right back wall bottom shelf. You will find a box of Louisiana brand battered large gulf shrimp. The box says two pounds but that because they have to weigh the cleaned shrimp before they bread them . So it's more like 4lbds of shrimp with and awesome lemony tasting batter that's just calls out to you fry me up bet you can't eat this box between three grown men. Challenge accepted for $10 it's on . I fried half the box and we couldn't eat it all . There is so much shrimp it's unbelieveable it's ten bucks. I couldn't buy raw and batter them for ten bucksm you gotta go get one you'll never have better for less that's a fact jack

Zippardo's quality has fallen off significantly! While the large store and many workers at checkout has always been a great formula to keep us as customers the quality of their food has diminished. Recently purchased a roast that was rancid when we opened the package. They would NOT offer a refund, only a store credit. That's BS. Watermelon? All of them we've purchased on the past year have been bad when cut open. We're DONE with their product and their attitude. Please let us know if you've had similar experiences there.

Every register was open on a weekday morning; my rating is based solely on that. During Mardi Gras, Dong Phuong king cakes and many other king cakes from different bakeries are sold here.

I attended the 9th annual Bourbon Bonanza at Zuppardo's this evening 12/1/23. A BIG thank you to the Zuppardo family for hosting such a fine event. There were 60 SIXTY top-shelf bourbons available to be sampled. They were good and good! There was a raffle for the opportunity to buy some really hard to find bourbons. All proceeds went to charity. They had all of the samplers ( my wife included) under tents in the event of inclement weather. That was nice!!They put out a charcuterie TABLE for everyone to enjoy. It was HUGE!! Pounds of cheese , deli meats and these AWESOME cheese balls. OMG, I ate like a king. They had a food truck out there serving in-house favorites. Thank you so much for the JPSO presence out there. I always feel safe going to make groceries here. I'm proud of my local, family-owned grocery store. I saw most of the Zuppardo family out there at the event. It's always better when the owners are there and they were!!!I'm eagerly anticipating next year's event. I'm retired , but I'd work here for meals off the hot bar. Go check them out and tell them the guy with the crooked eye sent you.I get a real kick out of reading the 1star reviews for my beloved grocery store. I'd give them an ounce of recognition , but they're ALL from people that have only ever posted 1 or 2 reviews. Y'all should really just go shop somewhere else and free up a parking spot for somebody that appreciates Zuppardo's. Go get some meat from Wally World and let me know how that goes. To everybody else, do yourself a favor and elevate your grocery experience. There's NEVER a wait to checkout and the Owners are ALWAYS there to tell me hello!!I'm there EVERY Friday at about 5pm for the fried shrimp on the hot-bar. NOBODY has a hot-bar like this place. NOBODY!!!!!!!!!!!

Clearly got some bad fish. Purchased on Sunday, cooked on Monday. Yellowfin Tuna. Center was like mush. Asked for my money back and was told they normally wanted the item returned. I said okay I will go home and it take out of my trash. They offered me a store credit. I spent over $150 dollars that day. As far as customers relations go the manager drop the ball on this one. I could understand if I was always returning things. As a first-time return, I will have done what the customer wanted.
