Yawdi Food

Good and fresh. This was my second time here and I brought coworkers from out of town. They left bones behind! I couldn't eat any more and saving the rest for later. We had plate 1: oxtails, Mac n cheese and white rice.Plate 2: jerk, Mac n cheese and rice n peas. Plate 3: Oxtails with rice n peas with Mac n cheese. SUPREME!

When we landed in NOLA, our Uber driver, Patti, gave us the BEST food and tour recommendations, and she was on point about YawdiFood! Huge shoutout to Patti - hope someone reading this gets to ride with her!We ordered the oxtail meal with mac and cheese and rice and peas as sides to share. The oxtails were so tender and full of flavor - literally falling off the bone!The inside of the restaurant and the restrooms were clean and there was a TV for entertainment. The customer service was great too! I only wish we had more time in town to try more dishes. We walked from Burbon Street and felt completely safe during the stroll. Definitely a place I'd recommend if you're in the area.

Placed my order thru Yelp app so I waited a few minutes before going inside to pick up my order. I was pleased to see the employee that came from the back was Jamaican, after hearing her speak ,so I know my food was coming from the home. My estimated time was accurate so I was in and out. The food tasted great, as I expected. The chicken was so tender and I never go wrong with a side of veggies.I also tried the meat patty but I feel like it could have had a tad bit more filling because I didn't get the real taste of the inside. I will definitely be back to order more & something different from the menu.

I ordered and three people ordered after me and got their food. I ordered a jerk chicken sandwich and fries and the ordered big plate meals. I'm traveling to the Best Jamaican Jerkhouse in the 9th Ward from here on out... service matters. They added cheese(didn't expect that) very scare chicken and my fries were lukewarm. The punch was the best thing I had.... Ughhhh $30.00 later tf

I was craving some delicious Jamaican food, after searching Yelp and reading reviews, I ended up at Yawdi Food. They have a wonderful menu from breakfast to dinner choices. I went with the oxtails. They were tender and flavorful. The rice and peas was perfect, and the macaroni and cheese was yummy. Only thing missing was some good scotch bonnet style pepper sauce and fried plantains, they were out. Orders are prepared to go. You can dine in or take to go. Public parking lot is right behind the restaurant Delicious Jamaican food in a chill ambiance.

Typically I've said I'm not a fan of Caribbean food, but after trying Yawdi's, I have to retract that statement! I came here with a couple of friends and was unsure what to order. I opted for the "shrimp stir fry" which comes with 2 sides. The food was prepared to order and was very delicious! The shrimp were not spicy (which I was slightly afraid of), and the sides were well prepared also.Generous portions seem to be a nearly lost cause these days, but Yawdi's did not miss the mark here either. If I'm in the area, I'd definitely come back.

I ordered escovitch fish from here twice and it's been delicious. I also love their steamed veggies and rice and peas. I've only ever had food delivered from here but it's my new go to Jamaican spot! Its always hot and fresh!

The jerk chicken, oxtails and cabbage are so delicious! Everything that I have tried here has been so flavorful and fresh. I always get a side of plantain- it's so addictive.. The ambiance is very casual. I usually call ahead because there's only street parking.

Ordered a large jerk chicken ended up with baked chicken with some random spicy sauce smh "Mac and cheese" with no cheese just random cheese chunksWaste of time and money.

Horrible just horrible! The jerk chicken was baked chicken it was tasteless, the rice tastes burnt I couldn't eat it. There's a no refund, I just accepted my loss. I don't know what happened to the place it used to be decent but what I tried today is NOT what I was expecting. They literally only had like 2 options and the one I chose was disgusting. I wish I could provide NO STARS. YAWDI please find a new chef this is not it !! I would be nice but the service provided is undeserving of it. They deserve the truth. This place is a waste. SAVEYOUR MONEY!
