I finally tried this truck that is usually near my work 2x per week. I had the salmon hibachi plate.The salmon was perfectly cooked and they were out of my first choice, California roll, but I had edamame and really yummy mini serving of seaweed salad. All the food was really tasty but the portion size was a bit small for the price. Maybe the meat portions are greater.Would definitely try again

Love me some Yami Foods!I visited their truck for the first time today during Picnicking on Poydras, which is a food-truck oriented lunchtime event that happens near the 'Dome on Poydras. (check out @nolafoodtrucks on IG to see when it happens if you're into food truck munchies)Anywho, I went with the Sushi Roll Lunch special and I loved it! With this special you get a sushi roll and the choice of two sides. For my sushi roll, I went with the Rock n' Roll (snowcrab, tempura shrimp and avocado). And for my sides I got hibachi noodles and gyoza (wonton wrappers stuffed with pork and cabbage). This cost $8.95, 9 bucks and some change with tax included. All of the food was the correct temperature and everything tasted fresh. Although this is a lighter lunch meal, I was definitely full afterwards. I will be back again to try the crawfish roll since it was out by the time I arrived.

Tried this food truck outside of Tulane Medical Center. It's a pretty popular place for food trucks during lunch so it's sometimes a tough sell to hospital employees, especially if you are new. I think that Yami Foods will do well though. The price is a little high for a food truck, but you do get a lot of food for your money. I got the veggie hibachi with 2 sides: stir fried rice and California roll. It was like $9.50 which was pretty good for that much food. There was a lot of flavor in everything and the sushi roll tasted fresh. The other sides sounded really good as well. My coworker got the steak hibachi with gyoza and noodles and really liked it. I think next time I'm going to get the sushi roll with the 2 sides. If you get a sushi roll to-go at a supermarket or Whole Foods it's like $7-9 and here you get 2 sides with it, so definitely worth it.

As far as the habachi goes I was very impressed. I got the salmon with dumpling and broccoli and noodle. My coworker got sushi and rice both of us were very happy with our choices next Time I'm gonna try the steak I saw the guy before me get smelled amazing.

It's... fine. But super bland. Dry meat and not enough seasoning. Unseasoned noodles too and nothing to dip the gyoza in.

Oh my gosh!! This food is simply amazing. A Yami food truck came to the New Orleans Entrepreneur Week festival and WOW. I got the $10.95 sushi roll special which also included two sides. I selected 2 things of crawfish rolls, snow crab salad, and hibachi noodles. Everything is perfection. The salad is unique and delicious. The noodles were seasoned well. Everything was the perfect temperaturw on a hot day.

I have eaten hibachi from here twice and "sushi" once. I enjoyed both meals. Today, I tried the salmon hibachi, seaweed, and snow crab salad. The salmon was sliced thinly and cooked well. I only gave it 4 stars because you cannot purchase sides separately.

This food truck is awesome! The owners are really nice and the food is quick and delicious. I had the hibachi steak and wasn't disappointed. The steak is so well seasoned, more so than any hibachi restaurant that I've been too. Their seaweed salad is also really good. The only downside was the yum yum sauce. Definitely recommend this truck.

Absolutely horrible service waited over 50 minutes on my food to find out that they were out of two of the three sides I ordered. The owner became angry when I refused to get TRIPLE rice so I just asked for a refund.
