When I was in NO a few months ago for a bachelor party, on one of the mornings, I decided to take a nice walk around the French Quarter District. On my walk I just stumbled upon this place. I was curious as I saw paintings in the window so I wondered in and low and behold, it was a free art museum! And I love art!I walked around and took everything in. I was there for about a half hour as they had some amazing paintings by known artists, which I didn't expect.I would LOVE to go back to Windsor Fine Art when I'm in the area again!

I enjoyed walking through this art gallery. We were in town for a work conference and had half a day to get out and explore a bit. This was the first art gallery we decided to check out. It seemed nice and quiet and we were able to check out the works of art and look around without feeling like people were hovering or needing to talk to us. I appreciated taking in the art on my own and taking my time. The person working at the time was very friendly -they were on the phone and still made an effort to wave and say hello and that they were there if we needed anything. I appreciated that and didn't find him to be stuffy. This one is worth taking a gander into!

One of my favorite things to do is wander the "Quarters" on a weekend afternoon. I always stumble upon a neat place I had never heard of. This time it was Windsor Fine Arts, a great gallery in the heart of the Quarter. It has works from the masters like Matisse, Miro, Dali and Chagall as well as contemporary artists like Jose Basso whose paintings I really liked. There are also beautiful sculptures by Martin Eichinger. They were actually my favorite. Check it out one day.

I had a lovely time here looking at art by Matisse, Dali, Picasso and my favourite of all Chagall. What impressed me is the warm welcome and not a hint of art snobbery from the lady working there. My son's girlfriend's mom is an artist so I wanted her to see these pieces.RoyalStreet is one of my favourite streets in New Orleans because of the arts, antiques and unique clothing places.

I've purchased at least a dozen articles from them over the years. While they carry expensive, signed art from the likes of Picasso and Dali, they also have lithographs for the budget minded. WIndsor also sells sculpture.Their sales staff is knowledgeable. I plan to shop there again.
