I went on the Manchac Magic kayak tour and while the swamp was nice, this was hands down my worst tour guide experience ever. The tour guide's behavior was offensive and unacceptable. I do not know the guide's name as he never introduced himself, but I think it might have been Al. Listed below is the unacceptable behavior in order of most offensive. On the ride home he was drinking a beer while driving (I have photographic evidence)Twice on the drive home he used the R wordHe commented on the bodies of 2 young women on the tour in their 20s, it was sexual harassment and they were not comfortable with itHe also commented on the body of a pregnant woman on the tourWhen pulling up to the launch area upon seeing that 2 tour participants were in their late 50's/early 60s he commented for everyone in the van to hear that "this old dude is going to slow us down." It was offensive, rude, and unprofessional to say such things out loudHe had perpetual road rage on the drive home and kept shouting offensive things out loud for all the van to hear such as "go home to Alabama and fuck your sister"He made several sexist commentsI learned nothing on the tour and was uncomfortable the entire time from start to finish both on and off the waterHe gave no instruction or safety briefing before launching us into the water He gave me a broken paddle, while I fortunately noticed and exchangeI tried to address these issues privately with the tour company via email, but received no response. Therefore, I am posting this review.

We just finished our private tour with captain Josh and had the most wonderful time! Captain josh was amazing and so knowledgeable. He was also really friendly and good vibes all around. We ran a little bit late and he was very patient and understanding which we really appreciated. The tour was so worth it! We highly recommend to everyone! If you happen to Captain Josh, you're lucky and in for a wonderful time! Don't forget your gratuities for the wonderful captain and his hard work!

UNPROFFESSIONAL. we booked the first tour and was told to meet at 9am but arrive 15min early. i messaged the guide and nothing. 9:20am I called and the lady on the phone was confused and even had the audacity to ask if we were late. She called me back and said the driver never picked up the van and that she couldn't get a hold of him. She wasn't apologetic & she just kept saying "I dont know whats going on" which to me seems like terrible customer service and making me more upset... we ended up leaving and around 9:50 I got a called from who i assume was the guide because he sounded like he just woke up, he said he'll be ready to pick us up at 10:30AM. As if anyone wants to wake any longer for this damn tour. NO APOLIGIES, NOTHING. I just said well take the refund and he hung up. YOU WASTED OUR TIME AND VACATION...

UNREAL kayaking tour of a Louisiana swamp, a MUST DO for all visitors/residents of New Orleans/Louisiana and an activity for all ages. We traveled about 40 minutes from New Orleans to the Ruddock area near Lake Maurepas to meet our tour guide and the rest of the group. Our tour guide was very pleasant, funny, and helpful throughout the whole tour, giving us some history and interesting stories about the swamp while kayaking. The nature is absolutely unreal, my pictures don't do it justice for how beautiful the alligators, dragon flies, and trees are out there. We went in June and saw two baby alligators (maybe 3-5 feet long), both of which minded their own business. Overall, I cannot wait to go back and see the swamp in different seasons! For those thinking of this activity: bring lots of bug spray, sunscreen, hat, dress for the weather (was very hot on the swamp especially in the sun), lots of water, and a camera (i brought my iphone and had no problem keeping it dry)Cannot recommend this activity enough, great family friendly experience!

Traveled from Los Angeles and doing the kayak tour was at the top of my list. I rented a car to avoid paying the transportation fees since I was going the plantation and airboat tours that day. I got a call 1 hour !!! 1 hour before my schedule booking time ! 1 hour!! I was leaving the plantation to make my way over when the man said "due to certain circumstances " asked if I could reschedule but I mentioned I was leaving tomorrow and had rented a car specifically for this. He suggested a early ride but never bothered to offer to waive the transportation fee. Such a disappointment. He wasn't even sorry

Loved the experience! We had visited back in 2019 October but went to the "other" swamp tours, and weren't really able to see very many alligators. But this time around we got to see a whole bunch of them. We were treated kindly, and given so much gator info. The host was very informative and funny. Wear warm clothes during the cold seasons because it does get very chilly. I completely recommend this place.

Terrific kayack tour. Al, our guide, is phenomenal! He brings a lifetime of knowledge of the area from New Orleans dining to swamp history. He shares experiences with alligators, plant life, and other swamp inhabitants from fish to spiders. He picked us up in the van and shared restaurant recommendations as well. He made the tour!
