My husband and I were invited to a friend's wedding this past weekend. We'd never been to White Oak Plantation before so we didn't know what to expect. Upon arrival, we were impressed by the magnificient beauty of this place. It is GORGEOUS! The interior is very classy and elegant, with a beautiful staircase just as you enter. Outside, you are surrounded by exquisitely maintained gardens. It was absolutely stunning. It was an outside wedding, and the set up was nice. Afterward, we were guided to the patio area for the reception. There was a full bar set up to the left as you entered, and a mimosa station to the right of the patio. A nice set up area for the disc jockey. Hor d'oeurves were served to the guests while the guests waited for the arrival of the bride and groom. The hor d'oeurves they were serving were small boudin balls, grilled shrimp in bacon with what tasted like mild bbq sauce on them, and small grilled cheese. All were awesome. After the arrival of the bride and groom, the main food was served. They had this really cool set up that served shrimp and grits in martini glasses. You were able to add a variety of other items to your grits if you wanted. The other food areas served pork loin that could be made into small sandwiches. Another area had fried catfish, stuffed mushrooms, and pasta. The fried fish tasted as good as any restaurant I have ever been to. ALL of the food was restaurant quality, and served hot, not room temperature. I figured out it is owned by John Folse. You can definitely tell by the food quality! AWESOME! The staff were all VERY friendly and cordial. The facility was clean and well kept up. Absolutely gorgeous. I was nosy and asked the bride's mom what the event cost because it seemed to me that it HAD to be very expensive. I was actually stunned at the price she told me because I've been to weddings that cost significantly more, and were no where near as high class, elegant, simply GORGEOUS, and the food as fabulous. If you are looking for a venue for an event or a wedding, this hidden gem is DEFINITELY one to check out! ABSOLUTELY FABULOUS (I can't say this enough!)

White Oak is an amazing place! The grounds are beautiful and filled with lush greenery. The plantation house is splendid with its huge columns, beautiful staircase, and antique furnishings. There are many plantation homes in the South and there are a few that are very dear to me (Houmas House and Oak Alley) but White Oak is numero uno in my books. What sets it apart, for me, is that it is owned by John Folse. He is an incredible chef and I love everything that comes out of his kitchen. FYI: His king cake is the best I have ever eaten. So addictive!White Oak hosts many events here such as weddings, corporate meetings, and parties. They also do off-site catering. Danielle, Chef Pete, and the rest of the staff are top-notch and very professional. Come here if nothing else just to take a tour of this hidden treasure in Baton Rouge. If you really want to be blown away plan an event here!

The location is lovely. I went here for my niece's wedding. She was extremely pleased with wedding atmosphere and decor. They handled the flow of guests in an orderly fashion. Besides the emotional impact, I was surprised at the quality of the food. Not what I would have expected from Chef John Folse's establishment. The only table I really enjoyed was the cheese and cold meats table with veggie sides. The band was so dang loud which is not the location's fault I guess. The band was the ultimate cause of the 4 star. Way too unpleasantly loud.

I would give less if I could. My daughter got married on October 6, 2019 at White Oak. We paid almost $20,000 for this place so she could have a beautiful and worry free day.1. 3 days before the wedding they dug a GIANT nasty ugly hold in the front lawn. No phone call, no apology, NOTHING! Now this would not have been horrible, BUT she was married on the front lawn!2. The day of the wedding, they lost her ring bearer pillow that was made from her grandmother's 50 year old wedding dress. My daughter was in tears and highly upset. This was a priceless heirloom that could not be replaced. They found it about 5 minutes before they lined up to go down the aisle. So much for a worry free wedding! The only reason they found it is the officiant (an ex police officer) went looking for it, because they sure didn't. 3. You would think at almost $70 per person, they would not run out of food or beverages... WRONG! Over half the people there did not get an appetizer. Some didn't even get roast pig which we paid extra for. AND They ran out of several different alcohols (which we paid extra for) about an hour before the night was over. You would think they would acknowledge their failings. NOPE. I may have been more forgiving if they had...No one apologized, FOR ANY OF IT! My husband emailed twice, I called and left a message and emailed. My husband left a Google review, but still no response. I DO NOT RECOMMEND THIS PLACE FOR A WEDDING!!! It will NOT be worry free, only expensive!

I had a photo shoot here and this place is GORGEOUS!White Oak specializes in weddings, and since I was doing a bridal shoot, I got the full treatment. There is a nice big area upstairs where the bride can get ready away from the bustling crowd of her guests. The grounds are gorgeous with a picturesque view that is perfect for photos and memories that will last you a lifetime.Everything is done on the grounds, including full catering, so you won't have to worry about hiring any outside sources for that kind of thing. White Oak also works closely with companies that handle everything from flowers to candles to seating, so they will be more than happy to help you with any of your needs. While I was there, the staff was extremely nice and friendly and made sure that I was comfortable and had everything that I needed. Even though I was only there for a photo shoot, their professionalism never wavered and they treated me as if I were a paying client. If you are looking to get married in Baton Rouge, this may be the place for you.

A few years ago I had the opportunity to attend a wedding at White Oak Plantation and immediately fell in love with the gorgeous grounds. It was an easy decision to choose the incredibly beautiful setting of White Oak as my own wedding venue. What was more than a pleasant surprise to me though was how AMAZING the staff was to work with! Jordan provided all of the assistance and guidance that I needed throughout my year's worth of planning. The day of wedding coordinator, Deborah, was behind the scenes taking care of every little detail! Our personal attendant, Ms. Penny, made sure that we were well taken care of throughout the entire night! I cannot thank enough all of the staff at White Oak for helping to provide the wedding of my dreams! Everything was perfect!

My gf and I came to a wedding here recently and had a fantastic time! The ceremony was out front, and the reception was in the back reception hall. Not much happened in the actual plantation house except for the cake-cutting and pictures. There is also a very nice garden area on the side where guests can mingle and take pictures and such.In my opinion, the food was pretty good and the staff were on their game. It was a cash bar (except wine was free), and the drinks were a little more expensive then I'd normally be willing to pay, but that's normal for a wedding reception type event. The setup worked very well for the amount of people, but we were pretty much at capacity for keeping everyone comfortable (it was VERY hot outside, even after the sun went down, but there was a frequent nice breeze). The house itself also didn't seem to be kept up as well as it could/should. I noticed there were some maintenance items that could definitely be attended to. But overall, it's a beautiful venue, especially if you don't notice the little things like I tend to do (it's the engineer in me).

I had my wedding at White Oak Plantation and it was absolutely AMAZING!! The staff was SO helpful and attended to every need my husband or I had. They assign a personal attendant to the couple and parents of the couple and they were always there at the right time asking if I needed water or food and were constantly checking in with us without getting in the way! They were a life saver and made the whole experience easy and enjoyable! The wedding coordinator was also wonderful! She handled everything and let my mom sit back and enjoy the day instead of worrying about details. She even bustled my dress and helped me get my veil out. She was great about keeping everyone on schedule without being pushy. I can't say enough good things about this venue!! We had absolutely no complaints about them - they went above and beyond to make our wedding memorable. If you are getting married in Baton Rouge - you definitely need to check out this venue! They also send the bride and groom and both sets of parents off with a to go plate of food from the day - so helpful! It's not cheap, but the prices are reasonable for weddings and there aren't a bunch of hidden fees. They give you a per-person price and a reservation fee...that's it! I loved everything about my wedding and White Oak played a HUGE role in that awesome experience.

Gorgeous grounds on the outskirts of Baton Rouge in a residential area.. you would never suspect it's there! We attended our 2nd wedding in as many months last Saturday, and it was gorgeous, as was the first time. This ceremony was on the lawn, previous one was in the courtyard due to earlier rain. Service was great, venue is a good size, food is pretty good, and drinks are always flowing :) We had a good time on both occasions and have no complaints!

I recently attended a benefit at Chef John Folse's White Oak Plantation, one of many events I've had the pleasure of being at. The staff was impeccable and very attentive to the needs of all the guests. The food presentation was very elegant and was a classic display of Louisiana cuisine. I would definitely recommend White Oak as a venue and a caterer to all. Thank you again Chef John Folse for an always pleasant experience!!
