Whiskey & Sticks

I wish I could give this zero stars. For starters, it's called Whiskey and Sticks but smoking was not allowed inside. That didn't stop the employee from selling us a cigar though and she definitely did not warn us that we wouldn't be allowed to smoke it. It was our only reason for being there. We would have taken our business elsewhere without a purchase had we known we couldn't smoke there. We had cigars at home but it was a cold, wet evening so we were looking for an indoor place to smoke.

There were a few patrons in chic attire sipping chilled wine outside, and I thought I might be a bit too scruffy in my biker gear for this place. Stepping inside, we were warmly greeted and promptly served drinks. I felt like I slipped into the back room with my cool older cousins at the family reunion - I'm a tourist in this city, so I got the local scoop on a few good restaurants to check out. The inside lounge area has great artwork on the walls and the DJ had a nice Motown vibe going on. There is a back patio as well with plenty of space to hang out. We sat outside and were checked on a couple times to make sure all was well. Definitely a good vibe here...I almost don't want to write this review and have it get too popular. Definitely the best of two others spots in the city I checked out so far : )

This was my first time at Whiskey and Sticks. I arrived at the end of trivia night but it seems like a bunch of fun. The place is very intimate while also being lively. The bartender was nice and she crafted perfectly blended drinks. The back patio is also a nice touch. I can definitely imagine a private function back there. Will be back

One of my favorites Good Drinks Good People !!! Great place Grown Folks very clean and welcoming. If your looking to chill and have a good time this is the place for you.

August 2019- My bff & I stumbled upon this place on our girls trip to NOLA. The owners (husband/wife) are kind and genuine. This establishment is black-owned which was an added bonus for us! Everyone made us feel so welcomed. We went in there to purchase cigars for our dad/husband to bring back home with us. I went back solo on my last night there. They had a private event going on and again I felt welcomed. The owner introduced me to everyone and made me feel as if I was definitely one of the regulars. They have a great selection of local whiskeys that I definitely sampled! I bought 5 cigars (3 were hand rolled). I don't smoke, but when I gave them to my husband he stated they were of a great quality. I would definitely come back to this place again just to have a nice smooth drink and mingle with the loveable and kind people of NOLA!

While planning my trip to Nola I saw this spot on travel noir. We finally made it over the last night of our stay. The place is quaint but there's seating in the front, inside and outside. My hubby ordered boubon and a cigar. He was not feeling the cigar but of course he had his own. I just sat outside and enjoyed conversations and the summer night air. Such a chill vibe away from boubon street. They even had carribean food for sale on site. We will return on our next visit!

Great selection of whiskeys! I was here on a chill Wednesday night, celebrating a friend's birthday. There were HH specials (a punch called Tiger Woods) and our bartender/owner was amazing. I got to try 2 new to me whiskies so that's exciting and the feeling is more like you're in someone's awesome home bar. Definitely seemed like most folks were getting straight pours rather than fancy cocktails. The space is lovely with a variety of seating and a cool vibe. There is space out back to enjoy the Sticks portion of the menu and though it was rainy several of my friends enjoyed the space & the cigars while under an umbrella. The owner also moved some chairs to under the front awning.Be prepared to be buzzed in. And there is a single bathroom which is OK because this isn't a huge space... but plan accordingly.

Reason for Visit: Just dropped in to have a smoke and drink with my father-in-law while he was in town. Facility: This place has a nice homey and intimate feel to it. The inside is small but has comfortable seating for you to relax with a drink. The back patio has a nice sitting area with fire pit to keep you warm and cozy. Service: The service was pretty good. ACigars: A small selection of cigars. Whiskey: I was looking for Oban 14 year. They didn't have any so the bartender recommended Uncle Nearis to us. It was a nice smooth taste. They have a nice selection but not as many as I expected for it to be a Whiskey bar. I was also hoping to try some flights. Overall: In all it was a nice experience and I enjoyed myself. It seems to be a startup. I'm hoping they grow some more with a larger whiskey selection, flight options, and a walk in humidor. Anyone who goes will like their time there.

Excellent cocktails, nice courtyard, beautiful space. I cannot wait to come back to Whiskey & Sticks. As we walked in, the staff greeted us so warmly that I thought they knew me from somewhere. It was cool to get a Cheers vibe upon my first visit! We were there for a comedy event in the courtyard. There was ample seating and good acoustics. Best of all, I never had to leave my chair to get another drink. The staff was on top of it! They were taking orders, bussing and returning with full trays so quickly. It was truly impressive.

Ms. Kimberly made me a Whiskey Appleton (i think that's the name) that was outa this world! She's such a sweetheart and good at recommendations. I don't even drink whiskey but I will now Lol. Such a beautiful neighborhood bar and nice place to just sit and chill. Great music too.
